Kobe Bryant passes Shaquille O'Neal for fifth in all-time scoring, Lakers lead Philadelphia
Kobe Bryant was booed by Philadelphia 76ers fans, once again.
Then he went out and put on a show in the first half, scoring 24 points and passing Shaquille O'Neal for fifth on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Bryant has 28,597 points.
The Lakers lead at halftime, 50-46, Monday at Wells Fargo Center.
Bryant made eight of 14 shots in the half. Andrew Bynum had seven points on three-for-six shooting. Pau Gasol had nine points on three-for-eight shooting.
The Lakers are playing without Coach Mike Brown, who was suspended a game because he bumped a referee Saturday against Utah and failed to leave the court in a timely manner after being ejected. Assistant coach John Kuester is coaching the Lakers tonight.
Monday's game marked the halfway point of the Lakers' six-game trip. They began the game 14-10 overall, 3-8 on the road.
