Kobe Bryant gets his kicks on the soccer field

September 29, 2011 |  9:23 am

Usually he's considered the man needed to take the last-second shot. But when he appeared on a soccer field in a Nike promotional appearance in Istanbul, Turkey, Bryant gave further ammunition to TrueHoop's Henry Abbott that he's not clutch.

Bryant also provided plenty of answers on why starting out playing goalie as a child growing up in Italy didn't turn out so well.

"My arms were so long and I didn't really have a good feel at handling the ball," Bryant once told the Chicago Tribune's Luis Arroyave. "As I practiced and progressed, they moved me to midfield."

Bryant then moved on to basketball, and we all know how that turned out.
