Gasol brothers crucial in Spain's 84-59 victory over Serbia

September 9, 2011 | 10:15 am

It appears there's very little that's stopping Pau Gasol these days.

Not Dirk Nowitzki. Not a mild ankle injury. And certainly not Serbia.

Pau and his brother, Marc, combined for 46 points in Spain's 84-59 victory Friday over Serbia in the FIBA European Championships, earning the Spanish team a second-round matchup Sunday against France. It'll be televised on ESPN3.com at 11 a.m. PDT.

"Today we played at a very high level, good defense and good flow offensively," Pau said on his Twitter account. "Next opponent France. We have to keep it up!"

Highlights of the game weren't readily available, but I found the clip above featuring Pau matching up with Nowitzki in Spain's victory Wednesday over Germany. It's better viewing than, say, when Nowitzki lighted him up in the 2011 NBA playoffs.
