Tweet of the Day: "DON'T CRY FOR ME: I'm totally cool. I was working 1 more, now getting paid to April so I just got martyrdom (well, a little) with severance! ... THANKS TO MY BOSS MIKE JAMES and everyone who put up w/my BS. My thoughts are with y'all who sweat blood daily, trying to preserve what was ... AND THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE NICE WORDS. For all my friends in the sports writer biz, you're what made doing this special" -- MHeislerLATimes (The great NBA columnist Mark Heisler, whose last day at The Times was on Wednesday. I can't think him enough for his guidance and support and more importantly, the chance to read his valued and revealing insight on the NBA/Lakers. We will miss him.)

Rick Friedman Reader Comment of the Day: "Prime Kobe would eat prime Wade with his eyes closed... And I believe he still can do it with some rest and fresh legs so... People should add to statistics that Kobe is a Basketball freak, that guy is insane, he has magic powers. The guy is playing with a broken finger, bad knee, bad ankle... are u kidding me? He's out of this world." -- Adrian Arturo Aquino
