Mike Brown to appear on 'Lopez Tonight'

In what marks a rite of passage for any Laker, Coach Mike Brown will make an appearance at midnight on "Lopez Tonight."

Comedian George Lopez frequently sits courtside at Laker games, has had Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher and Ron Artest on many times as guests, and even starred in Artest's video, "Go Loco." So it's fair to say Brown's appearance will give him a glimpse of Hollywood culture and help him gain further insight about his players.

Hey, maybe Kobe will show up as a "surprise." Can't get any more dramatic than that. Top that "Khloe & Lamar." YIKES!

:-(

That would be very cool, Brown and Kobe on the show making nice and putting closure on the issue once and for all.

@Art... yes, putting closure on an "issue" that shouldn't be an issue at all. Just win, that's all.

@ :-( All good...except the Lakers of course.

how about this?

What if LO, KOBE, DREW, ARTEST, and DFISH show up randomly to the show, when MB is on... how crazy would that be...

I can read Lopez's lines already " Since your our new coach MB we wanted you to welcome your fellow Los Angeles Lakers " then the crowd applauds and players walk in, and mike browns face turns purple with joy lol

how about that!

this has nothing to do with Lakers but important still...

1. 405 will be closed off on a 10-mile strech in July for about a month.... OUCH! you tought LA traffic is bad? well get ready.....!!!!!!!!!

2. LA has ruled that the speed cameras on main intersections is wrong, and will be removed within the coming days... woo hooo, no more red light tickets that cost about 500$$$ yay!!

TECHA N9NA is signing out!

@FRMKT … Thanks for the update. I can understand the symbolic change. I think the feeling is universal for this blog. Hopefully, next year you will evolve to :-))))). In this case, change is good.

@TECH N9NE … I haven’t heard any news but the fact that the NBA players and owners seem now to be on schedule to come to an agreement before the end of this month has to be good news for both football AND basketball fans. If the NFL settles their dispute, the NBA will follow suit.

TOM

@TOM... LOL!!

Why does it seems that outside of Messina, other prospective assistant coaches are not too enthused about coming work under Mike Brown?

Speaking of which, I can't understand why they'd only make him a consultant when he seems to have a lot of defensive-oriented coaching prowess...

LTLF: I'm liking your T'Wolves trade scenarios. One other reason why they might target Pau: helping Rubio transition to the States. The fact that they are pretty good friends and fellow Spaniards would make it seem even more realistic a trade scenario.

Besides, if Kevin McFail orchestrated a gift *errrrr* 'trade' with his greenie buddy Ainge, why can't Rambis do the same with the Lakers? I kid of course, however this trade seems to be a doable one in which both sides benefit.

Justa: Que pasa muchacha? I would divert my eyes from the game tonight if your stomach is bothering you, it might sicken you even more to see two of the big-3 gravy-training off of D-Wade and riding his coattails for a title.

Take care though, we need your positive vibes around here more!

AS ALWAYS - AND FOREVER - GO LAKERS!!!!!!

CyberCosmiX (Posted by: CyberCosmiX | June 07, 2011 at 05:57 P)...if there were a "trade" scenario as you hinted, I know, it's light hearted humor...the thing is who would we want ftom the T-Wolve's...I imagine KLove is untouchable, we don't need Beasley as we have our quota of "strangers", Johnny Flynn??? Seems most of the people think he's gonna be a bust, Luke Ridnour....It would have to be for KLove, who would probably mesh well with Pau more than Drew. I still say stay the course. As for our need of a PG, hey, there's a 30 something that is probably available, athletic, big, fairly fast....Smush Parker, Just kidding. He did play in Cleveland, although before the Mike Brown error, I mean era.

>>>...why can't Rambis do the same with the Lakers? I kid of course, however

Well, he's not the GM for starters...

But if Rambis was trying to pull a McHale, then it would be Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, Michael Beasley, and the #2 draft pick for Pau.

First, do you recall the Dallas series? You know, four games the Lakers played a couple weeks ago? Do you remember how much bench scoring the Lakers got? Adding Beasley to the bench adds bench scoring.

But I agree with you about Jonny Flynn. I'm not sure, because I haven't seen him play enough, but I get the impression that he's another very good college player who isn't quite good enough for the NBA.

But the PG the Lakers would be trying to get with the trade would be the one they could get with the #2 pick. The only problem with that is that even if he does pan out, he's not really going to be championship tough for 2 or 3 years, and the rest of the Laker core will likely be in decline by then.

Yeah, that was me talking when I shouldn't have, and I think we all realize the precarious position that Rambis is probably in now, considering the poor record over 2 seasons, winning only 15 then 17 games....

I don't think they would give up KLove for hardly anybody, except maybe Blake Griffin of the Clippers. I don't want to give up on Pau so fast, and true fans should not either. Yes he had a unsteady season, but having to deal with filling in at center constantly, being overplayed by PJ who would leave him in games when they were won instead of putting in the end of the bench players over his entire time here, playing something like 400 games over the last 3 seasons, due to playoffs, and summer. Once again it would not be Rambis that makes a trade but I think they would try to get Pau at a bargain and unload some baggage in Beasley. I'm not going to go through the trade machine, but I think they would tease the Lakers with size in Darko Millicic (spelling???)-"size", Flynn-"PG-Laker's 'need' ", and Beaz "the gift that you really don't want"...just glanced at their roster and noticed that Delonte West is a free agent, only made $1.1 million last year, and obviously knows Mike Brown's system. Not promoting it, just stating it.

Sorry, my boo, I noticed on the free agents available that West was a Celtic, but Wikipedia has him on the T-Wolves roster (hey, they have Rubio on there already), so I looked it up, he went to the TWolves in a 5 player plus a pick trade and signed for that one year, this wrapping up season with the Celtics to "back up Rajon Rondo". He went to the T-Wolves after the LeBron ordeal, and the T-Wolves promptly cut him. Apparently he likes guns. So Stern should make sure he and Gilbert Arenas don't get close to each other.

I don't know who is more demanding, the media or fans?
