The Lakers 2010-11 Season went down in an embarrassing inferno of fire and more fire - the question is will there be enough ashes let to resurrect it ?
Retain Bryant and Bynum.

Odom's Reality TV Show is a distraction and so are the plays of the rest of the team.

It will probably take another 5 years before the Lakers ever reach the SemiFinals. The Finals perhaps in 10 years.

@BAKO... No problem to agree to disagree. I always worried about our long range shooting and wanted to sign Korver as our major offseason acquisition. We definitely needed long range shooting and perimeter defense more than anything else. That is until Pau disappeared. Let’s see what happens when the front office gets to work. I think we will be back in the hunt next year.
...............................................................................
@JAY JAY ... Wasup, my friend. The only problem with Curry is that he is the only thing on the W’s that the Lakers want. David Lee, no thank you. Andres Biedrins, never in a million years.

It's funny for a long time I advocated trading Bynum because of his gimpy legs and uncertain health future. I also thought Bynum was way too docile and nice in trying to be a finesse player while wasting all that physical endowments.

That is until this Lakers/Mavs serie. For the first time I've seen Bynum speaking out forcefully instead of trying to be PC as in the past. And for the first time I also saw Bynum really tried to be a BEAST in the paint.

No More Mr. Nice Guy!

Now if I have to choose between the two big men, Bynum or Gasol I am leaning toward Bynum.

Imagine if Bynum from now on having the reputation of head-hunting the opposing PGs will seriously think twice about penetrating the paint. The mere sight of Bynum looming will be enough for them to change their shots once they are in the paint because they would be expecting "painful" contacts. That goes without saying I have no problem with Bynum making Barea paid for going into the paint.

It's called OLD SCHOOL BASKETBALL!

With the Lakers no longer having a Kobe Bryant in his prime to dominate they will have to resort to a more tried-and-true formular for winning basketball:

DEFENSE and THUGZBALL.

Yes I'm serious. Now that LAL has gotten rid of Phil Jackson and his touchy-feely zen crap it's time to bring back hard-nosed Pat Riley style basketball: hustling basketball with lot of physical contacts.

Hello my fellow Laker fans! I am still down from being swept but there's always next year. I see the fans are talking trades already. Unfortunately what we can do is wait when it happens. I personally think we just need a quick point guard who can defend and shoot the 3's and also a deadly 3 point shooter. I want to keep the core intact even Artest. Our guys need to rest and recharge. I have no doubt we can still compete as long as we address our point and shooting guard issues. Brown got to go. I was never sold on him. I feel Sasha had more value than him. To Laker Tom, shame on you for calling Pau cancer and comparing him to Kwame. You now show how you dislike this guy who helped us go to3 NBA finals and winning 2. Your love for Drew reminds of of Mike T's love for Kwame. You need to sit down and relax. I've nothing against Drew except wishing him good health so he can play consistently. To all my laker fanatic, there's always next year, keep the faith! Go Lakers! from your #1 fan for life no matter what!

Jon K - What's it not letting you do specifically? I'll ask the tech people to help

If I were Jerry Buss, I would demand that EVERY Laker player meet with Phil face to face and say they were eternally sorry for not manning up, and giving their all for him in the Dallas series.

He did not deserve to go out like that.

INEXCUSABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://lakersblog.latimes.com/lakersblog/2011/05/analyzing-the-lakers-roster.html

First of all Mitch Kupchek will continue to hold on to bums like luke walton, & derrick fisher who was way past his prime when he left the first time.Letting Ariza go & picking up dead weight like joe smith & theo ratliff was ludicrous. Pau gasol should be trade 4 dwight howard & let howard play the power foward. Ben gordan would be a great addition because he can stretch the defense. The idea of trading Lamar odom is foolish, he is clearly the best all- around player on the Lakers. Kupchek has been riding on the coat-tail of Jerry West his whole tenure. He was exposed by dallas in that he's a fraud.

Keep the Kardasians away from the players.

Mark,

There isn't a space for me to put in my name nor a field for me to enter text.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

As we all know the Lakers will be back and on top with the next 1-2 years. We still have a great group of players. Yes we need to make some changes and most of you hit them right on the head. Our point guard position need to be up graded. Fisher will have to come off the bench next year if he's around. We don't need a solid point but it would be nice. We need someone that's quick and can play D and also that can knock down shots and drive to the hold. A sharp shooter is a must. If we hold on to Gasol which I believe we will get him in the weight room next month for strength. After that get him a professional wrestler, MMA, boxer, LA Gang member etc to tuff him up. The whole NBA really know he's soft now. If Memphis bet the thunder then Pau brother is going to take Dirk them as a personal matter and he will prove he is as tough as his brother. Maybe if we had Mark Gasol in the Dallas serious we would have won. But like I said I do believe we are still a top team but we have a few body to get rid of. Blake, Brown, Ratliff, Smith, Walton all will be out. With that money and possible a trade we should be able to get a good quality player in uniform for next season.

Oh I forgot about this. Why is it Magic Johnson is VP of the lakers but he get out on national TV and put us down? If he was so concern and had his say about us why he didn’t go to the team or Dr Buss or Mitch and voice his concerns? did you guys see VP of the Hornets, or Mavs sitting in a TV studio putting their team down. Magic is my all time favorite player but he really mad me somewhat dislike how he was trying to throw us under the bus. He should have left ABC/Espn and took his ass to the lakers team and ask what the hell is going on. Maybe the Lakers should get rid of him also. That's just my opinion

IS IT STILL THE PRACTICE SEASON?

NO, IT'S THE OFFSEASON. LOL!!! AND CAN'T WAIT FOR CP3 AND DWIGHT HOWARD TO JOIN US.

SOMEONE SAID DWIGHT HOWARD AND JAMEER NELSON. THAT'S A POSSIBILITY FOR BYNUM AND ODOM. BUT I WOULD PREFER CP3 BECAUSE HE'S THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD FORCE KOBE TO PASS OVER THE TORCH.

CP3 and Howard would be a nice addition. One person said Ben Gordon that would also be a good pick up. If I'm not mistaken and I could be Paul is a free agent after next season right? so if we could get Gordon then we will have something to trade to the hornets to make that deal. Hell we will also see if can get Ariza back in the CP3 offer. CP3, Howard and Ariza would be back to back championships again.

Laker Tom-Very obvious you do not know too much about the Lakers given your stupid statement, " LAL has gotten rid of Phil Jackson". They dont get rid of him he gets rid of the low IQ of "no defense" Shanon Brown, "mental case" Artest, and Bonehead "silly fouls-will continue to get hurt especially when Howard is on the floor at the same time (which is why he needs to be traded and acted like he already was when he took his Laker Jersey off after he got tossed out of the final game against Dallas) Baby Bynum.

Why is no one commenting on Kobe ankle injuiry; 1) 38 yr-old slow Jason Kid constantly blowing by Kobe-he just got the 1st team all defense for the 9th time-never happens if Kobe ankle is fine. 2) in the 4 games against Dallas, zero dunks and only 1 lay up!!!

I believe after they blew the 16 point lead at home, knowing Kobe is not even close to full strength along with Gasoft playing poorly (Got to keep him based on prior seasons) the rest of the team was demoralized.

***LAKERS WIN BACK TO BACK WITH LITTLE PLAYING HELP FROM BONEHEAD BABY BYNUM BUT WHEN HE DID PLAY-THEY GET BROOM HANDLED IN THE 2ND ROUND??? HMMMM

Dude...Kobe's on the all defensive first team, what a JOKE. His man had a better percentage in shots, always OPEN as Kobe cheated by always playing the passing lanes. The NBA voting is CRAP is as FAKE as WRESTLING AND ROLL A DERBY what a FRAUD.

Dude..Kobe's not passing no DAMN TORCH, EGO is to BIG.

@Marcus
YES, YES, and YES!

Magic needs to shup his trap and recognize!!!!

Earvin, your stock has greatly decreased as the most loved Laker of all time. With all the garbage he's been spewing on TV the last few seasons, he has been leap frogged by Jerry West AND Chicky Baby!

Can't believe I am cheering for the Celtics against the Cheat... Well, They have earned my respect, I think it will not be bad at all..

Can someone please post the link to the Renegade Lakers Chat?
I had it saved before, but my links recently were wiped.

Dude..I very happy the way things turn out, I've said the Heat will be there not sure about your team. Well, your teams gone fishing, my team still in the game. a Little HUMBLE PIE for the ARROGANT Lakers and their ARROGANT fans. Now can we get a BANDWAGON for the HEAT, stop the HATEN...PLEASE.

Cp3 might be the only one that Kobe would willingly pass the torch to Gunner.

Jameer might be nice, certainly better than what we have, but seriously, he's not the guy you build your franchise around.

I was thinking this morning of NBA Champions that have built their team around a point guard. There's not a whole lot of them... I guess you can say Magic Johnson (though Kareem, a center, was the major piece). The only other in modern times I can think of is the Pistons with Isiah Thomas (am I really going to count the one title with Chauncy, because Wallace was pretty tough back then too)

Truly, these dynasties have been comprised of Centers, Forwards, and Shooting guards... for the most part.

Therefore, if you're trying to emulate successful dynasties, would you want to put your money on a Steve Nash type of guy (he's never even made the finals; Stockton never won one) or a Cp3 type (Isiah Thomas was the centerpiece of the Bad Boy pistons)??

Plus, Dr. Buss really views the 80s Showtime Lakers as the hey-day. Well, to create that sort of team, you need hard nosed defense and a very athletic team. Basically, you're asking to become the Thunder, but with more weapons in the half court. Cp3 is just the sort of PG that: forces turnovers, can get out and run in the open court, and can destroy offenses in the half court.

I guess that's why I really feel that in a "perfect world" we'd get him - but this is not fantasy land where we can all just call the shots, LOL

Marcus,

I agree with you man. I am actually disappointed with Magic. Very disappointed. I don't care if that's how his mouth is used to. He is a laker and an owner at that. As a player, he is on my top laker list. But as an owner, he is doormat for me.

Manny Tianga, your observation about the Lakers being back into contention in 10 years is off. Remember, we still have the core players. We only need to add speed and athleticism and youth. a couple of trades can do that.

The game has evolved into a fast paced game. We need to have legs that can run.

Jon K - Hey I talked to the administrator and he was wondering if you could contact him directly to explain the problem with signing in at [email protected]

He'll take it from there. Sorry about the inconvenience

I think the best move would be for the Lakers to trade Gasol in a package for CP3. Assume we keep Bynum. David West has a player option with the Hornets. If he decides not to excercise the option, there is a possibility of our future power forward. I would think he would want to move with his buddy CP3 to LA. The Hornets could get their PF for the next few years in Gasol.

CP3
Artest
Bynum
D West
Kobe

@HYACINTH … You are right that I went to far calling Pau a cancer. As the husband of a two-time cancer survivor, that was not a fair punch. I admit that right now I am not in any condition to judge Pau Gasol objectively. I feel like the guy has just stabbed the entire Lakers nation in the back. If you ever played on a basketball team and understood the synergy that exists when teams play great team defense or offense, then you know just how devastating it can be for a major cog on your team to just not show up. Anyway, it is just a game and your criticism was fair. Unlike some Pau haters who may be happy the guy choked, I was hoping all my worries were wrong and I would eat crow. At this point, I think Pau needs to go but if the front office opts to keep him or go in another direction, I will support their decision and cheer for the him and the Lakers. That is true even if they elect to trade Andrew Bynum, which I am confident that they will do. I was a Laker fan before Magic and will be after Kobe.

Mark Medina,

Thank you for making the effort.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

You guys this is what the lakers need to do this off season.
1) KEEP BYNUM, ODOM, and Pau we all know Kobe will always be a Laker
2) Move Fish to the bench and find a very young athletic point guard doesnt have to ve CP3
3) pick up some very young players from the free agent market. Wilson Chander and Arron Afflalo will be very oustanding pick ups, both young and will bring quickness and athletism. something the lakers have been lacking for a very long time
4) keep Shannon and Matt Barnes if not then try go and pick up Leonardo Barbabosa
5) We need a center that can come in off the bench when bynum isnt playing and Samuel Dalembert can bring height and toughness for the bench
6) we need a backup powerforward with toughness, Carl Landry or Jeff Green could be possible pickups if Mitch knows how to pull it off
7) I think its time to let go of Ron Artest,
8) We need to let go of Luke Walton like seriously he has not help us in any way since his been a Laker

Bynum is a big sorry loser. I would take the most skilled big man in the NBA (Gasol ) over Bynum without second thought!! Gasol opens up your offense since he doesn't always have to clog up the paint and can easily hit the 20 foot jumpshot. That will draw out the defense and keep the lane open for slashers and ppl that can get to the hoop. Bynum is a disgrace to the league right now. He chose the smallest guy in the league to knock over, so that wasn't impressive and I don't think it scared any people in the league. It looked like he was trying to end someone's career instead of taking the beating they were getting like a true athlete!! Gasol is a better passer, shooter and all around big man. See what happens when he doesn't play well?? They lose. When Bynum plays well, they still lose, so my money would go on Gasol, plus he stays a lot healthier than Bynum!!

To Lake Tom, your response is noted. Got to keep the faith! Go Lakers!

LBJ AND DWADE ARE SUPERMAN 1 AND SUPERMAN 2.

sorry to break the news but Kobe Gasol and Odom are NOT goin ANYWHERE

And Fisher is coming off the bench next season

Ok so im seeing a lot of people who want dwight, and a lot of people who want CP3... and I would fall into the group of people that would take CP3 and stick with Bynum because of the way the NBA is now a days, but what if there was a way to get both of them, plus another person everyone would be happy for?

Check this trade out:

Lakers get: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Trevor Ariza, Jarrett Jack

Magic get: Andrew Bynum, Emeka Okafor, Steve Blake, Ron Artest

Hornets get: Pau Gasol, Jameer Nelson, Ryan Anderson, Hedo Turkoglu

Why Orlando would do this: I think it's clear from previous seasons and this post season that Dwight is on his way out of Orlando. The Magic are going to want something for him, and this guarantees that they have one of the top two centers in the league. They also get Omeka, who at PF could absolutely dominate. Steve Blake will be a good back-up for JJ Redick, who is going to take over the starting spot soon anyway. Throw Ron Artest in and now they improve on ball D so they have someone who can help stop the stars in the east (Miami comes to mind). I personally think this deal would be the hardest to pull for Orlando, but they need a change and this might be the shakeup to do it.

Why New Orleans would do this: Chris Paul has a very similar situation to Dwight; he's on his way out, and it's probably in the Hornets best to try and get something for him. This trade would definitely get something for him, too. They get Pau Gasol, a dominant big man they've desperately needed. Jameer Nelson fills the spot that is left by CP3 and would do it pretty well. Hedo Turkoglu is an above average player in this league and has a pretty good skill set. Throw Ryan Anderson in the deal to give them a young big guy with range that also has some potential, and the hornets my just bite.

Why the Lakers would do it: Dwight - Lamar - Trevor - Kobe - CP3. Need i say more?

The Trade works financially (I plugged it into the trade machine calculator and it succeeded) and, in my opinion, logically. Personally, if we only get Dwight, it would be more of the same, and with only CP3, we would still be hurting in other areas (3pt shooting). So tell me what you guys think, because I've been ecstatic about this possibility even though I know I have no idea what the future of the team is like.

Most importantly, GO LAKERS!

Troll Man - Your comment about the different handles has some personal attacks on other users. Fix that up and then I'll approve it

MrNano and everyone else

In response to your multiple handles assumption

My many handles are usually conceived on how I feel during a certain point of time or to accentuate a particular point of view or presentation.

Examples of some my different handles and reasons for their usage (note: there are many I have fogotten)

1. You Ever Notice: self explanatory

2. Nostradamas: when making predictions

3. There are 4 Lights: Classic Star Trek NG episode where Picard is under heavy psychological brainwashing techniques where his torturers are trying to induce Picard into saying there is a different number of lights. Picard almost breaks down but is saved in the last moment. Picard later reveals he was ready to say anything his captors wanted him to. This handle is used when someone is trying to impose their will on others.

4. Notes on a Scorecard: this handle was done in honor of the late sportswrtiter Alan Malamud

5. By Grapthars Hammer: A sillly handle when making corny declarations

6. Sister Mary Elephant: Used when giving out grades to Laker players morphing the players into adolescent school children with PJ as teacher aide.

7. Regular Season Police: I just loved it when the PSP (Practice Season Police) came on board and though this handle is somewhat of a rip-off, I was showing my support in his disdain for the "Practice Season" preachers who really were exposed this playoff season. The Arrogance of these people were just over-the-top. The RSP also continued the work of .....

8. 27 Bloggers who ruined this blog: This handle is perhaps the only handle that I used that was wholly attacking. It is still referenced today by many bloggers who agreed with my convictions. Long story short, not so long ago there were some regular bloggers who started petitioning MM at every oppurtunity to ban this guy/that guy for posts they didn't personally like. Granted some of these requests were legitimate but for the most part, these 27 bloggers (which was just a number I made up) were ganging up on others and really dictating blog policy with the blessing of MM. I called out these bloggers, they complained to MM and that handle was banned without an explanation. I complained to the Times but got nothing but the Red Tape treatment. I since feel exonerated, a particular blogger who was the very definition of "drama queen" and one I had issues with really showed their real personality in recent months. This person thought they were bigger than this blog and attempted to impose their will upon this blog. Well that person's new blog home has a membership of about 10 bloggers. Ah, it's the little things that make up smile.

9. Troll Man: tongue-in-cheek moniker which is my main handle. This handle was solely directed at the many here who started calling anyone with an opposing point-of-view, a troll.

_________________________

there are other handles and when I remember them I'll pass them along.
But as you can see there was nothing malicious in any of these handles except for the one I admitted to.
Furthermore that particular handle was really a reaction to how little respect I was shown during that period. Others have been put in the same position and have been censored and censured but I am not the type of person to go down without a fight.

I do not think that I am above this blog but I have made my contributions

1. The Top Ten List: to time consuming but was a blast to rate some great comments a couple years back
2. The Lamar Anthem: Instant Classic, still relevant today (unfortunately)
3. All Luke all the Time: was just a cut and paste piece I could have really made a great one.
4. Big Bad Drew is Sweet William Now: A piece I will repost. It was when Bynum was going through a period of being a non-factor and bloggers were questioning his commitment.
5. The 27 Commandments: Authored as RSP, a summation of the hell I went through this year on this blog. The Commandents are a collection of some of the best and worst of what people have brought to this blog. Some serious, some comedic, some sarcastic, and some sardonic. It was created to remind bloggers not to take themselves so seriously because if you think about it, this blog to some extent is about entertainment.

I don't hide behind these handles I am these handles. Anyone who wants to know if a particular handle is me, just ask. But I did have a little fun with the RSP, I wouldn't divulge my identity until somebody guessed right. No one did which was funny because I left clue after clue. Or maybe they eventually guessed right and were mad it was me. lol.

MM

what do I need to edit to get my post through?

oK

GMoney I predicted that Miami will win their 1st ring since the regular season. Miami have 2 players who are both way better than kobe but is willing to pass the ball. LBJ showed us last year that if he wanted to he could beat boston by himself but he took his foot off the gas. By the end of the nba season i predict we all will hail King James.

Changing of the old guard I suppose? No Spurs, no Lakers, and soon no Celts. Re-tool Lakers, come on Mitch or bring back Jerry!

Was Jerry West correct - Bynum and Gasol won't work? I've always assumed that West's comments were relative to winning a title.

While the Lakers have won two titles, in both cases, Bynum was little more than a sub due to injuries and the combo as a starting tandem never won a title together.

My Celtic fan friends were having some fun with me today and said that they heard on talk radio that there were some serious dissension issues with the Lakers that revolved around Gasol's relationship with his fiancee. Could be crap - but potentially one way to explain how badly they played.

http://www.yardbarker.com/nba/articles/pau_gasol_fianc_leaves_him_because_of_teammate/4687804

http://lakers.ocregister.com/2011/05/06/did-pau-gasol-get-dumped-by-his-girlfriend/54261/

gasol for cp3. get a better bench. thats all we need.

watching the grizzlies game, i have a theory. pau played poorly so the lakers can lose, knowing young brother marc would get an opportunity for his first crack at a title. now people can't complain that memphis got ripped off, marc is develpoing into a star right before our eyes.

island priest - Dude...regardless of what the Lakerholics say about you, You're smarter then 99% of them. OK blog 27 since you hate the Heat with a PASSION, next week the Celtic's will be on the couch next to you. As you both root and hate against the NEW NBA Champs, Your Miami HEAT.

Island Priest: I will never hail King James (nor call him King) BUT as I appreciate the Game and it's super-skilled players, I will tip my hat to LBJ and more-so Wade for proving me wrong if they take it all the way to a ring this year as I didn't think they'd get it this soon.

So LBJ took his foot off the gas, ah, you mean he quit on his team?

@mclyne – cool double of the Pumpkins…perfect for the mood the day after.

@jayden24 – enjoyed your post at 5:24pm

@Ludwig – I agree. Phil deserves his share of the blame.

@Hyacinth/Laker Tom – Nice to see forceful, yet respectful dialogue.

my nba finals prediction, memphis vs heat. memphis wins series in 6, becoming the first 8 seed to win the title in my lifetime. i don't know if it has ever been done, but man i would LOVE to see lechoke lose to an 8 seed and have his cold heart ripped out!

Can't believe I am cheering for the Celtics against the Cheat... Well, They have earned my respect, I think it will not be bad at all..
Posted by: dice8up | May 09, 2011 at 05:45 PM

Dude....How SAD, this is what you Lakerholics has been REDUCED to sitting on the couch rooting for the Celtic's. This is just PITIFUL,where's Dr. Kevorkian when you need him.

Troy, if you say the monies even out, that sounds like a pretty good blockbuster 3 team trade.

MM

You let the un- edited versions go thru @ 7:02 and 7:10 please delete those

You were right, I didn't need to get specific, the edited version is perfect.

Troy S.-Dude...sounds good to me, now you're the new GM. KUPCAKE.....you're FIRED, and don't let door knob hit you on your way OUT.

Troll Man,

I would've had no idea what a few of the handles meant, so thanks for the explanation. Very interesting. I don't know how you keep up with all the different handles I can barely "handle" my one.

Dude...How many Championships the Heat said their going to WIN?

I take that back.. What i meant to say is if it's between bynum and gasol, gasol is not going anywhere (i know he didn't "bring it" against the mavs but i don't think the lakers as an organization are going to part ways with him after all he's done since coming to LA). I think the only way we get rid of gasol is if we are also trading away bynum and the only way that happens is if we are getting in return howard and cp3 as troy s stated or something very very similar. And to those who say the lakers are done and essentially will go thru a rebuilding period is premature. Why would you completely blow up a team that was defending 2 time champs and went to the finals the previous 3 years? The lakers will be contenders next season wether they keep everybody or not becasue if you trade anybody, in theory your getting in return somebody similar in caliber and our team at the moment is a great team barring this last meltdown. So at this point i think everybody would agree we need a "shake up". There was def some turmoil in the locker room. Buss and the Lakers organization are very aware and sesnsitive to the kobe situation and want to "compete" for championships for the next few years so by no means are they throwing in the towel. Yes phil is gone but the Lakers and kobe need to prove they can win without him. I love Fish but it's time for a younger athletic and skilled top 10 point guard. The lakers would be stupid to get rid of LO, he is our best all around player and brings great chemistry to the team. I like ron ron but its hard to say how the cookie will crumble in that situation. So essentially it boils down to wether bynum can stay healthy or can gasol toughen up and start bullying people? Lets hope cupcake can pull another rabbit out the hat.

Troll Man - Dude...why don't you just post your comments as "7 faces of SILVELA"

Lol TROLL MAN.
You have so much imagination and free time!
I always hoped i were on the infamous 27... something bat to be remember for, haha.
One question: since when are you posting here? I can recognize your stile sometimes, but i get lost triying to follow your handles, and to be sincere, between that amount of handles i thought you were 3 people at least, 1 planet and two satellites.
Another one: what do you do in real life? i'm intrigued of what profession can hide someone like you.

GHO LAKERS!!!

OK this parody was of Bynum back in 2008 when he was really playing poorly

to get the real feel for this go to the following music link... It's a Van Halen song called "Big Bad Bill is Sweet William Now"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RPx6A3gKiA

Big Bad Drew is Sweet Andy Now...

Way down yonder in La La ville
Lived a cat named Big Bad Drew
I wants to tell ya
Oh the Cat was rough and tough he would strut his stuff

Had the whole league scared to death
when he came in they all held their breath
He's a fight'n man sure enough
And then Drew got himself some green
Now he's never seen

Big Bad Drew is Sweet Andy now
Making dough done changed him somehow
He's the man the league use to fear
Now they all call him Sweet Baby Andy Dear
Stronger than Sampson I declare
till 50 plus million turned his head

Big Bad Drew don't play anymore
he's too busy shopping at the stores
Well he use to score and rebound manning up each night
Now he's gobbling up the chicken every night
Big Bad Drew is Sweet Andy now
Big Bad Drew is Sweet Andy now
(doing his shopping)
Big Bad Drew is Sweet Andy now
(gobbling up that chicken)
Big Bad Drew is Sweet Andy now
do do dodo do dodo do dodo do do do dodo dodo do

And...
I thought your post about the handles was some kind of question. I can regonize that was only rethorical between you and one of your other handles.
BTW were you Kwaminus Brownicus???

GO LAKERS!!!

Island Priest: I will never hail King James (nor call him King) BUT as I appreciate the Game and it's super-skilled players, I will tip my hat to LBJ and more-so Wade for proving me wrong if they take it all the way to a ring this year as I didn't think they'd get it this soon.

Bulls will knock off the Heat if the Celtics don't rebound.

Lowlife LeQuit and his LeKarma will be the undoing of the Heat.

Do the Heat or the Celts have Blogs?

There's nothing wrong with the Lakers that Dwight Howard and CP3 can't cure.

No problem right Mitch! If you can turn Kwame into Gasol (albeit laugably you could argue that trade hurt us this postseason), you can do it!

Need some more jumpers and thumpers like Shannon Brown on the bench as well.

LeBozo is a clown not a king.

A professional basketball who directed a one hour show so people can find out where he will play is plain egotistical and does not deserve a ring.
The entire country outside of Miami hates the clown. did you see the survey they did in ABC? Votes still went with Boston to beat Miami and that's about 90% of the US.

Trollman/RSP/You Ever Notice

That was funny; the PSP is honored to be recognized by you. Now on to a more pertinent question: are you also The Bulimic 1/2 Empty Glass? Great handle that was.

Thanks

Dude...They have blogs, but since I'm born and L.A. this is GOOD. Hell you want need it for a bit, you're on VACATION.

Now everybody STOP haten on the KING, appreciate his MADD Skills. It's OK, doesn't matter what the country voted. Everybody LOVES a WINNER, HELL the WHOLE country HATED KOBE even after the DECISION.

Greetings Lakers Fans I am a native of the city of Orlando, Florida I came just to say get off of trying to get Dwight Howard and concentrate your pathetic spoiled efforts on trying to land a pro football team! MAGIC FAN! LET`S GO MAGIC

chicago is coming out of the east not lebrick and the heat. MARK MY WORDS. Bulls even have the homecourt. Don't come to Lakers blog saying lebrick is better then kobe are you kidding me? In a few years lebrick will be hittin 30 and soon people will be saying he's getting old meanwhile he hasn't accomplished sh@t. You must be crazy, to even compare stats is a joke. Not only that if you want to determine who is the better player just ask yourself who you would rather have "coach" or "mentor" you. Not even close. Kobe's game is an art form and most people can't appreciate it beause they don't understand the hard work or they've never played basketball or know crap about it.

G.Money....Nobody really cares what you THINK!!!As far as I'm concerned the NBA season is over and I could give a Happy Horse S**T about the finals. I don't LIKE any other team but the Laker's! We Will Be Back!!!!!
131-92.... So tell me how you're feeling after the loss! Do you really want to hear about how bad the Celtic's are? Just curious. By the way we do have class on our blog, it's people like you who shouldn't even want to come on our blog. I wouldn't lower my self to be giving your blog the satisfaction that that I care!

LOL and LMAO!!

Dont throw rocks!! Stay classy!!

wow, the monster marc gasol has 26 points and 20 rebounds! i hope pau is watching his younger bro

well I need that Lakers need to reshape like Magic said, they better do something about it becuase we dont want a lazy team where they let their opponent bangind them around, that roster needs to be in better shape, yet its true Kobe is going to be 37 soon ummm where do we go from here??? DR BUzz what are you goin to do about it?http://bit.ly/j1rhut

i hope the lakers don't rebuild. i think all they need to do is trade fisher and odom, and get a pg that shoots 3s.

pg - 3 point shooter
sg - bryant
sf - artest
pf - gasol
c - bynum

Get Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, & Kevin Love

Keep Bynum

Trade Kobe for Derrick Rose

If we keep Kobe Bryant we should also keep Lamar Odom simply because he is the poor man's Scootie Pippen

We should also go after Kevin Durant & Blake Girffin within next 2 or 3 years.

Bench Ron Artest (he is not a starter/ we may not need to trade him), he is good where he is BENCH.... he would make the bench a lot powerful, he is simply not a starter. Also, we got him very cheap.

as i read all these comments one thing i noticed. The lakers need a speedy very good point guard who is always good in orchestrating a play on the floor. I know somebody and that is MANNY PACMAN PACQUIAO. Why not get this speedy powerful athlete to lakers lineup. he's unbeatable since yr 2000 till now. Pacman does play basketball too. the guy literally destroyed all his opponents. All opponents are afraid of pacman. Lakers 4ever LOL!!!

The season is over and now is the time to rebuild. The 1971 championship season illustrated a well accomplished and coached team. Jerry West demonstrated he could take a subordinate role and let Gail Goodrich be the top scorer. This concept should be a good learning principle for Kobe Bryant at this stage of his career. The Lakers need a high caliber point guard who can compliment with Kobe.Small forward that can score and defend and has the mental capabilities to adjust his style as a multi-purpose-3. The bench, good strong players capabile of scoring, rebounding, and defending consistently is a necessity. The bench has to have at least 5 quality players who will respond adequately.A new coach,Phil Jackson is one of the best if not the best. His defiences are; he does not like to use young players in key situations and he remains stuck on a system of veteran ball players in a fixed rotation of 7-8 players. This methodogy is good but not a guarantee to instant sucess.I do not know the solution or type of coach the Lakers should have but I will share my person view. A coach open to innovative ideas and playing style.A coach who can gain the respect of the players and win a high percentage of games is a necessity. Can Jerry Buss trade some players, acquire some free agents and possiblly draft a good young stud. and get this type of team.

MDJ,

I agree with you! LOL!!!

In other note, KOBE SHOULD CUT HIS SALARY TO MORE THAN HALF SO THAT WE CAN HAVE OR HE CAN HAVE MORE QUALITY A LIST PLAYERS ALONG WITH HIM TO HELP HIM WIN MORE CHAMPIONSHIPS AT LEAST 5 MORE YEARS.

Let's get Dwight Howard, CP3, Kevin Love for Pau Gasol, Bynum (if needed be), and Odom (if needed be)

trade everyone!!!!!

Next two years, focus on getting Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant!!!

>>>Dude...Kobe's on the all defensive first team, what a JOKE. His man had a
>>>better percentage in shots,

Los Angeles vs New Orleans

Game 2

Go watch it.

Ya'll are too funny with these dream teammates! The Magic are not going to trade DHoward for anybody, especially not injury prone Bynum nor for Gasol. Now if Bynum plays injury free next year, Magic might do a sign and trade with us for Howard, but they are not going to move Howard before then. As for CP3, NO is not going to trade him to the Lakers either. Maybe by sign and trade also. Since the league owns Hornets, they are not going to trade CP3. Nothing will be done this year with any of these players. Also, with the lockout looming and sure to happen, that is going to freeze all free agent activity for God-knows-how-long. I think it would be good if Lakers can get Ray Felton. I think he's a free agent. And if we can get Ben Gordon for the bench, that would be good. For the foreseeable future, I see the Lakers pretty much staying pat with a few minor changes. I don't think they should get rid of core (Kobe, Bynum, Odom, Gasol, and even Artest). Core is not that old. The Bulls last three championships were won with much older players than our core is now. The lockout will dictate alot of what happens to the Lakers in the offseason. I still think this group is capable of winning a championship next season. Early rest and renewed hunger should do it.

I know everyone is on the Howard and Paul wagon (as I am), but what about D-will?

Scenario 1:
-He is a proven point guard, can pass with the best of them, better build and stronger, able to play tough defense on the opposing team and be a legit scorer who can drive to the rim, spot up and shoot, or bang home a 3 ball.
propose: Lamar and artest for D-will?
-no offense, I love artest, but he is a loose cannon...when the lakers were losing, he starts throwing cheap shots...and lets not mention how INCONSISTENT offensively he is...
-lamar is getting older, and even though he's sixth man, he is DEFINITELY INCONSISTENT. you never know which lamar will show up. and on top of that, he brings too much baggage with a reality show (are you serious).

scenario 2:
propose: gasol for paul.
-chris is gonna leave anyways, and gasol is LEGITIMATELY the best deal you are going to get for chris paul.

scenario 3:
propose: bynum and blake for Howard
-same as above. we all know Howard wants out, has openly said LA is his first choice. and again, bynum is the best you are going to get for Howard. It's like swapping 1 and 2 true centers in the league. throw in blake if they want him, or to make the money even out.

Hopefully this is what I would like to see as next year starting line-up:

PG: Williams/Paul
SG: Kobe
SF: Barnes
PF: Odom/Gasol (if we get paul or Williams)
C: Howard

Seriously, d-fish has got to go. I said it last year, AND I HAVE NO FREAKING IDEA WHY THEY SIGNED HIM TO A 3-YEAR DEAL. he makes 1 shot and all the announcers and my entire family go: "omg. he's so good. that d-fish." and ummm...I look at the box score and hes like 2-8 for the game. 3 turnovers. gets blown by all the time. can't play defense. makes that stupid face when he gets called for a foul, "wait, me???"
He needs to retire, but knowing how dumb the lakers are, they are going to AT WORST BRING HIM OFF THE BENCH.

You all must be going crazy, but I like barnes>artest. Barnes can be controlled, and when you have 3/5 starters (kobe, howard, paul/williams), he doesn't need to be an offensive threat. he just needs to be the defensive stopper, work on his 3 over the summer, and we can use him when needed when the 3 kick the ball out. and i also like his hustle. he always go under the hoop to try and get a rebound. he might not be able to finish every play, but that's okay. we already have enough offensive power.

also sign:
kapano: bring him off the bench for barnes. legit 3 point shooter (proven), just needs to work in the offseason.

keep brown for 1 more season, cause im sure he'll exercise his player option. either he develops (not just the first game of the season when he can score 4 3-balls, but throughout. develop a jumper for god sakes. we know he can drive it to the rim already) or his ass is gone at the trade deadline in feb.

we also need to sign a decent PF/C to rotate with Howard and Lamar if Lamar ends up staying.
