With 6:03 left in the first quarter, the score is OKC 25, LAL 15. if this keeps up, it'll be 50-30 after the first, 100-60 at the half. OKC will drop dead of exhaustion by the end of the game 200-120. What a defensive strategy, let 'em run 'til they drop!

Does commissioner Stern name a replacement team if the Thunder drops dead from exhaustion?

Sigh.

Another game decided by the refs.

Okc will lose to spurs pj needs to take rolaids

Barkley is right, Kobe's pretty much finished as an elite player. And now that he's unable to make those crazy, bad shots and come out of questionable offensive plays, his selfishness and immaturity are becoming way too evident and hard to ignore.

I don't know what the hell was Buss thinking when he gave him a multi-year extension for about $30 Mil. I guess just his image (selling merchandise, tv etc) provides for a humongous part of the team's revenue regardless of how they over payed.

Does anyone know who owns the tie breaker if OKC ties LA for 2nd or 3rd?

They have two easy games left and Lakers have 1-1 ...

Kobe to the rescue again, NOT Kobe turnovers decided the game again. Heart Break Hotel, this is not the Lakers year, Kobe is a MESS.

One thing about the Priest is that even though he rules with an iron fist he is fair. Kobe had a great shooting night but too many turnovers. He is a bit of butter fingers lately. Especially down the stretch. Ron is useless as usual. The heat is now ahead of the lakers in standings and owns the tie breaker. LO is distracted by the premiere of his corny tv show and didn't show up tonight. Instead of watching paint dry i think i will watch a rerun of monk on wgn. UPS what happen to you man? Since marrying you have become worse than last year. Why did you marry that woman anyway?

Disappointed we let it slip away. Frustrated that we can't seem to play consistantly, although this was a better effort than the last four games. I gotta keep reminding myself that they were so crappy right before the playoffs last year and still took it all. I'm hoping they're not putting the extra pressure of it being Phil's last season on themselves, and forgetting to just play basketball.

And can someone stop Shannon from dribbling so much? He reguarly runs 4 seconds off the clock before he passes it. Drives me crazy.

Positives: Pau's shooting, some great passing sequences (which I think they're not doing enough with the ball movement) Kobe's genius footwork, and some more hustle plays.

They'll be all right guys.

GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't believe the Lakers have ever won a championship by winning 3 straight road series. I don't think that's going to change with this team.

First 5-loss streak since 1997, the Kwame Brown-Smush Parker era. Completely pathetic.

Pathethic 1st Quarter! Pathetic 4th Quarter!

If they don't win Tuesday, they will be hard pressed to win to hold onto the 3rd Seed.

3 Straight Losses at Home, Most Probably 4 Straight on Tuesday as they're now starting to think about it.

They've now let how many teams with double digit losing streaks at Staples break the streaks?

Just Play the Darn Game! Let it Flow!

A 17-2 run by the Thunder to close the game.
Is that what the future looks like?
Lakers are done, there's no way they win anything.

Unfortunately, they're not playing the Lakers the next two games. They need a game like the Lakers provided for the Meatles after their 5 game losing streak.

One and done......you can't play 3 vs. 5.........we have NO shooters off the bench....we're not playing Butler. We're playing like Butler.

No #4 Seed in either conference has ever made it to the Conference Finals, let alone the NBA Finals!

Could this be another "Rope-A-Dope"?

Mitch should never let LO do a corny tv show during the season. LA is talented but has no discipline from top to bottom. Phil has totally lost this team.

The Lakers are just getting old. They have also played in three straight NBA Finals and have been drained by the international play which has used a few of their key players over the past few years. Bottom line-they've played more games and it's showing.

Just to give an example of how hard it is to play in FOUR straight NBA Finals series, which team was the last one to do it?

Hint--it sure didn't happen lately.

The Lakers lost because of a lack of discipline. LO's corny tv show is premiering tonight and he was totally distracted. 7 points and 3 rebounds? C'mon man!! They wasted a pretty good game by kobe and a great game by gastrong. Mitch should never have allowed LO to do a tv show during the season. Yall remember the to and ochocinco show and remember how their season turned out? Can we hire Pop from San Antonio?

Agreed, Island Priest. A player not known for his focus really shouldn't do a reality show during the season. It's an insipid thing to do anyway.

Well....I have a lot of crow to eat at the office tomorrow. Being a Lakers fan in Oklahoma City now is almost like being from Texas on the OU campus. These people are Thunder crazy. I've been a Lakers fan for a LONG time and I haven't worried about going into the playoffs like I am now in a long time. I'll tell you this - I prefer not to have to meet these young guns from my city again. With Perkins they've gone from a good team to a great team. The Lakers? We've gone from great to good. The playoffs are going to be tougher, but I haven't given up hope.

Could this be another "Rope-A-Dope"?

Your the DOPE BOZO, to even think that.

This loss was not LO's fault. The team as a whole couldn't stop the Thunder. And the Lakers choked down the stretch with turnovers and a soft defense. However, there's no doubt that Jackson is bent on sitting Bynum down the stretch. No wonder they couldn't stop anything, but it's more Gasol softness than an out-of-focus Odom.

Zopi or Khloe the loss was 70% LO fault. The rest was ups, fisher, ron ron and bares fault. kobe and bryant played great tonight.

94-95 Rockets went all the way and won championship at the #4 seed

Does anyone have the numbers on the Lakers in the playoffs, as far as how well and far they have gone including the Finals, since acquiring Kobe, when they are seeded 3rd. or below?

9 turnovers in the last quarter, not good. Maybe this is the wakeup call this team needs. As I've posted before, this is a team of streaks. This 5 game losing streak, while painful to watch, could easily be followed by a winning streak. 17-1, not likely, but 16 and 14 is all we need. I for one still believe this is the team that will be hoisting the hardware at the end. Go Lakers!!!!!

The team chemestry is a bit of a question mark as they have shown great chemestry at times (beginning of year and post ASB) and have shown a lack thereof (heading into the ASB and the last 5). Is it just me or have we heard this tune before? Just last year the Lakers erratic play had almost all the faithful pulling their hair out and most pundits writing them off! And we all know how that turned out. I still believe that when this team is motivated, and playing up to their potential they are better than last year and Las Vegas agrees, they are still the team to beat. If you think otherwise, Vegas will happily take your bet. 18 more wins would be nice, but 16 is all we need. Go Lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shannon brown sucks and i dont know why phil jackson plays him so much thats why he is a terrible coach

kobe played only 31 minutes tonight its like phil wanted to throw the game on purpose

i cant wait for kobe and phil to retire the lakers are better off even if they dont win right away

but they have dug themselves too much of a hole to get out of phil is not a good enough coach for that

Congratulations to Pau for constantly holding the ball in front of him so the opposing team would steal.
Congratulations to Odom for his reality tv show. It would surely bring you a three-peat ring.
Congratulations to Artest for all the talk shows appearences. They will make him more famous than a three-peat ring. Let's see next season when he's wothout a ring.
Congratulations to Shannon for letting the media full his head that he will win the most improved bench player.

Phoenix, for a troll, you have no grasp of sarcasm when you read it.

Lucky the Lakers got such a candy ass schedule, the softest one of all teams. The most home games with the least back to backs. Other wise, they surely would be seeded fourth. Looks like a planned bias to me.
As far as LO goes, it going to more like LOL after watching his play during this short playoff. Where is Sasha now, when you need him. HA HA

phoenix isnt a box seat holder, he is a 42 yr old over weight meth addict. he works at kfc and has a paper route, his name is jacob and dont pay attention to him. he is a habitual liar and a thief. oh yeah he lives with his sister and her husband. hey jacob, now what?

Wow...you people are the most ungrateful so called Lakers "fans" I have ever seen (actually read about). Being the best at something is a distraction in itself..they are the best when they are focused and playing together... but lets get this straight...

people complained all season that the Lakers were not doing what they should be doing...THEN after the ALL STAR break they go on a run. Everyone was hanging on their Gym shorts at that time... Well as a fan of basketball...I was personally worried that they would hit a funk in the playoffs.... SO...

They hit their funk before the playoffs...just in time to get their attention. Just in time to get them focused and tweak their minor imperfections before the all important playoffs.... If you are a true Laker fan you know that the regular season doesnt matter much...its when you lose and go home that does...

So...all you bandwagon so called Laker fans...shut up and sit on the bumper and let the Lakers do their thing...if you cant shut up then jump off for good and go root for the HEAT or the SLIMEY CELTICS...or if you are really trendy...go to OKC...I hear its really lively there this time of year!!

This team has a serious problem of egos and stardom. Yesterday is gone; this team is not a championship team. Just an average team going into the playoffs on yesterdays promises and hopes. The management made some errors time and age factors. The rebuilding process has to start now and review the major weaknesses and come back with a solution that works. Please check some of the previous blogs I have written. There are some good players available. Please have Phil, Jerry, and coaches new and old review this analysis. This could help the Lakers. Thank you.
