Video Caption Contest: Name Shannon Brown's dunk against New Orleans
In just a matter of seconds, Lakers guard Shannon Brown raised the decibel level at Staples Center from buzzed to ear-popping.
After stealing the ball from Hornets guard Jarrett Jack, Brown raced cross court. The 18,897 at Staples Center stood up in anticipation, knowing Brown would throw down one of his thunderous dunks. They still weren't prepared, however, for what would happen. Brown leapt in the air, turned toward New Orleans forward Aaron Gray and then switched from his right to left hand.
"I actually did it in the dunk contest," Brown said following the Lakers' 102-84 victory Sunday over the Hornets. "But it didn't look as flashy."
"It was just ridiculous," Bryant said. "His explosiveness is out of this world. I don't know if I could do that. I did a lot of ... but that and the fact he's 5'11"? He's extremely explosive. It's fun to watch."
The only question remains what to name this dunk. That's where we need your suggestions because Brown was at a loss for words.
"There's no name for it," Brown said. "I just switched hands. It happened so quick."

You might as well ask what existed before the Big Bang . . . some things are just beyond the comprehension of human beings.
The other issues people have raised are 1) Boston didn't want to pay Perk the money he was going to want at the end of the year; and 2) maybe Boston thought Perk had injury issues.

LRob- that was nyyyyyyyce.

I'll call it a 37 since that's what the voters called it.

Shannon is a very very good "in-game" dunker.

Agreed. Those dunks also actually count for two real points instead of fake popularity points.
World Champion, or Slam Dunk Champion? I wonder...

re: Since KobeMVP888's hiatus, he's been much less of a jerk.
That's my opinion and it won't get you anything at Starbucks.

But a jerk nonetheless! LMAO! I'll consider the source on that back handed name calling.
my response:

5. Slang A foolish, rude, or contemptible person
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/rude
a. Lacking the graces and refinement of civilized life; uncouth.
b. Lacking education or knowledge; unlearned.
c. Ill-mannered; discourteous: rude behavior.
So ... if one were civilized and someone said to one: "I find that remark
offensive" it seems to me that someone who had the grace and refinement
of a civilized life would say: "I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to be offensive. Is
there another way I could make my point w/o you taking it the wrong way?"

Was that fact, irrefutable evidence, opinion or facts based on your own personal theories? Or just the pot calling the kettle black?

Great dunk especially if it got the Lakers 2pts for the efford. It should've got him 4pts;you got to give him an A for creativity. Shannon is a one man fast Break all by himself when ever he takes off on the fast break you can sense anticipation over the arena waiting to see what he's going to do.And he comes through every time.Hey what can Brown do for you?
Go Lakers!

Hobbit and MVP888: You guys are getting ridiculous. Maybe you'll turn your collective vitriol in my direction, and this post will actually bring you two closer together. Wouldn't that be sweet? ENOUGH ALREADY.
63 Footer: That was funny, man.
Remember in last year's WCF when Shannon ALMOST had the dunk of the year over J-Rich? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io7Wff7Qmjs. Epic.
Happy post-victory Monday, folks.

The Outlaw
KobeMVP888 is the ridiculous one. The PSP fail to understand why he should extend an olive branch to me, I accept, and he turns around and starts bashing the PSP again. Btw 888, the PSP see you talking about pot calling kettle black; does that ring a bell?
Great game last night; the PSP watched the first half but had to take care of some 'business' so missed the 2nd half. What happened with Kobe shooting? He was 7-12 when I started attending to other business :-).
Thanks

Shannon is really good around the basket and a very good "finisher." But, he may be not a good natural "shooter." He said he worked on jump shot during the offseason, and it showed as he shot over 50% 3 pts shot early in the season. But, as his "practice effect" faded away he was starting to struggle shooting 3 pts shots.
I believe he could become a good "scorer" if he can slash more without basketball (instead of dribbling it) and shoot mid-range jumpers (instead of jacking up 3 pts.)

What is ridiculous is the handle "Practice Season Police"
And you think we are dumb enough to accept your explanation on why you picked this name of all names as your handle....
And you have some great swampland in Florida that we should invest in too...is that next?
LMAO....

LEWSTRS
The PSP has a great swampland in the jungles of Congo that the PSP would like to sell you. You would fit in perfectly with the other inhabitants there ....

Why is everyone surprised with bloggers constantly bickering, playing partisanship (herd mentality), calling each other names and in general just up in arms about anything that is a fair game?
Are we better off than the animals? For Christ sake, animals don't pick a fight for pleasure, out of arrogance or out of partisanship but here we are in 21st century and still let our primordial instincts rules us.
Luckily, this is a virtual site, can you imagine having MVP888, LakerTom, Hobbit, Lewster, mamba24, PLG and G Money in the same room?

NorCal - it actually could happen very, very soon. And I expect us to act civilly and with great Laker love. I certainly don't anticipate us acting like animals. I expect us to have lively conversation like a family discussing politics.
