Long-distance dedications for Miami Heat

We all know there's no crying in baseball ... but apparently there is in basketball. Miami Coach Eric Spoelstra told reporters after the Heat's 87-86 loss (their fourth straight) to the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, "This is painful for every single one of us going through this, there are a couple of guys crying in the locker room."

Not sure what that scene looked like. Could have been a couple of tears rolling down their cheeks, like Sinead O'Connor in the "Nothing Compares 2 U" music video, Or maybe it was an all-out sobfest like Ben Stiller at the end of "There's Something About Mary."

We all know that there's nothing like a good song to help cheer someone up. And being the compassionate bunch that they are, many Lakers blog readers have been sending out "heartfelt" songs to the Heat and their fans. Here's a video jukebox for anyone who wants to make a long-distance dedication to our sad friends in the Southeast (thanks to readers Regular Season Police for Ozzy and LRob for Fergie).

Or you can suggest a song of your own -- you know, to make those guys feel better. Feel free to leave suggestions in the comment section.

@ LRob, MM banned G Money last week before he went on vaca. Therefore he is unable to come here and explain to all of why LeBron was crying.

A great Kobe interview on ESPN...a must listen...

Kobe has really matured since his #8 Afro days...

LeBron should listen to this and learn how to deal with his teammates and how make them better...

@Johnny V - Oh yeah that's right. I wanted G. Money to do some splaining! man oh man.

@63 Footer - that looks like a nice smorgasbord of crying you put together. I'm check it out a little later.

@Mark G - yes you started it all...haha.

@Lew - Blog sync in effect. I was just about to post that interview. You're right, a very good interview. Here's a couple quick highlights folks....

Kobe on the Heat crying.

"Everybody responds differently to adversity," Lakers guard Kobe Bryant told the "Max and Marcellus" radio show on 710 ESPN in Los Angeles. "If guys are crying in the locker room, guys are crying in the locker room. That doesn't mean they're chumps. That doesn't mean they're soft. It doesn't mean anything."
-------------------
Kobe on why the Lakers are playing better after the break...

"We're minimizing mistakes on defense, rotations are better, and we're anticipating the others team offense better. Plus, Andrew is healthy and active."

What about during the end of the movie Brian's Song?

"If guys are crying in the locker room, guys are crying in the locker room. That doesn't mean they're chumps. That doesn't mean they're soft. It doesn't mean anything."

Really, Kobe? Really?

If guys are crying in the locker room, it doesn't mean anything?

Really?

I suppose if I'm in the office and some lady is bawling at her desk it doesn't mean anything?

Or if I'm ordering at Subway and the lady making my sandwich is just blubbering into my turkey club that it's just something that happens?

Things just happen, right? It doesn't mean anything.

Yeah. Sure. Okay.

Crying in the locker room during the regular season just happens.

It doesn't mean anything.

Sure.

Right.

Okay.

There's nothing wrong with grown men crying. Crying is a perfectly human reaction to strong stimulus of the happy or sad kind. NOT to cry when it would be normal to do so would be -- inhuman, right?

Let's face it; we ridicule the act of crying because it was done by members of the hated Miami Heat. As a counterpoint, there wasn't enough media attention to reports of some Septics crying after Perkins was traded.

Now you read reports of fellow NBA players (specifically, Melo and Amar'e) laughing about it. Expect playoff-bound teams to get into the heads of Princess Jimmy and Co. from here on in. I can just imagine trashtalkers like Pierce and Garnett sticking a contested J in the dying seconds of EVERY GAME of their playoff series and shouting, "Now go and have a good cry, wuss!"

Spoelstra may have been honest in his post-game talk. In my profession, i often remind my clients to be careful about their speech, because "anything you say can and will be used against you."

GO LAKERS!

@JON K… I’ve never had the occasion to use crying to seduce a woman but I think you’ve forgotten just how special and intense makeup sex can be. There is nothing as good after a great cry as a great… bout of lovemaking. I guess I would have to admit to being an easy crier. I cry when I’m elated as much as when I’m depressed. You can release so much anguish and twisted passion by crying that the aftermath is like a sunny spring day after a brief storm. Rainbow weather when sun and rain share. In many ways, it’s the bizarro drug because after the intensity it brings comes relief and elation rather than withdrawal. I recommend it highly, especially after the Lakers blow a lead or lose a silly game.

WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?????? That's it! THAT'S IT!!! Everybody line up! Line up now!!! Breathealyzers for everybody. No one leaves without one. It's obvious now that G. money spiked Dr. Fatty's Lakerholic tonic with some foreign substance. Probably mixed some Miami heat tonic with it. That's why everybody is going around crying and ISH! I might have to call Poison control. Cause that heat Tonic not only makes you cry but it makes grown men put on pumps and put a Tiara on their head, speak in the third person and call themselves Princess. If I start acting like that Nation please I want you to promise to do right by Mamba24. 63 footer, Lewstrs do I have your word?? You won't let Mamba24 go out like that will ya. Pleasssssse!!! OH ISH I feel the damn tears coming on.

Raymond42,

"There's nothing wrong with grown men crying."

Yeah, if it's in reaction to one of the approved things on the list.

If it's just crying because you feel sad or you're scared, then you are simply not a man.

A big part of being a "man" is learning to manage one's emotions instead of having one's emotions manage you--essentially making a person a "slave" to their emotions.

Being a man doesn't mean having a Y Chromosome.

It means being able to embrace the responsibility of having strength. The strength to take care of oneself and others and that requires self-discipline.

A "man" doesn't just break out into tears when something doesn't go his way.

That's what a child does. That is NOT what a man does.

@JON K… You have the events reversed. Haven’t you ever had a knock down crying and screaming fight with your woman only to make up and have the greatest sex in your life. If not, you’re missing out big. Thinking about it almost makes me want to go and pick a fight with Mrs. LakerTom. LOL.

Jon K, listen to me carefully. You seem to be the only one not infected with this nonsense. It's up to you to take control of the Nation. You can do it Jon K. I was hoping Lewstrs could help you but that crying for sex thing....Then LakerTom, LakerFreakinTom...I am so disappointed. And that Freaking Mamba24 he's been crying and banning and unbanning himself all day. LRob seems pretty steady but we'll keep him in reserve for emergency. Now the fate of Laker Nation depends on you Secret Agent Jon K. And if you can pull this one off...You can take overr MM's job interviewing The Laker Girls! Now good luck sir and God speed!!!

I know whypeople are flocking to the blog today, and I'm expect a Ziara sighting soon, but it's because for the firstst time all year we really feel like like contending champions. 400 posts from English to the subject of crying, I think the ON switch is contagious. There are so many kinds of tears: tears of sadness, tears of joy, tears of pain and a defective tear duct (eye disease). If tears flowed at the Heat locker room after losing to the Bulls, they're tears of incompetence by an overconfident team. On the other hand, tears don't mean anything until we beat them like the Spurs.

Norcal, I'm sorry for my marginal English, it is not the post sentence construction but the poor eye sight of the poster. I don't edit and only realized the error after it was posted. Again, judge me for the contents of message being conveyed to you, in lieu of mistakes on the tenses, misspelled words and hanging sentences. If you are an English teacher kindly supply the correction to make it more understandable to your taste. Secondly, I'm not supposed to post anymore due to busy schedule this year however I try my best to find a computer from the car, from my grandchildren's home, before sleeping hours. It is all about Laker passion. I hope you would be at least grateful for the efforts exerted.

@WES… I think you’re right about the championship performance being why everybody is here today. Ironically, it also helps that MM is not around to post a thousand threads. Now we can actually have conversations because it’s all on one thread. Maybe MM should consider multiple articles but only one discussion thread per day. It would be interesting move to consider but it might have merit.
…..
I think what also is adding to the exhilaration of the team finally playing up to its potential is the play of Andrew Bynum and what it means not only for this year but for the Lakers as a team going forward. Not only has Drew avoided the injury dilemma (knock on wood) but he is finally regaining his beastly hops and quickness. When you combine that with the maturity, intelligence, and team-first attitude that Drew has shown, you suddenly get a bigger, badder, and better beast dominating with defense.
…..
Drew’s performances defensively the last two games were a marvel to watch. I cannot remember seeing a more dominant defensive performance by anyone in the last few years. And while it is just two games, it is part of a definite string of games where Drew has suddenly been playing beastly. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of all of this is Drew willingly sacrificing himself on offense in order to help the team win. You can’t help but notice how quickly he is moving the ball now when he gets it in the post. He has really been a key factor in keeping the ball moving on offense.
…..
I am sure as we progress through the playoffs that Drew will get more touches but I think those touches will turn into assists as well as points. When you really think about the intelligence and selflessness that has to go into Drew making the sacrifice he is making, you have to be amazed. After all, we’re talking about a 23-year old multi-millionaire who is one of the best low post offensive players in the league and who leads the team in shooting percentage sacrificing that to help his team win. That is damn impressive. After all, we’re not talking about some stiff with no offense.
…..
What we are watching is a perfect storm of growth, luck, and timing suddenly flipping that proverbial switch that elevates the Lakers to an entirely different level. It’s everybody on the team playing in perfect harmony and synchronization, like a fine tuned precision engine with every part in alignment, the Lakers are rapidly turning into a juggernaut of a team as they head into the stretch run. When the season and playoffs are over, I believe we will have seen one of the greatest Lakers teams ever.

That's it Nation! Here comes the tears!! Oh and Laker Tom...OUT FREAKIN STANDING SIR!!!! KUDOS!!!!

Yeah Tom,

It is a thing to behold when Andrew is playing well. Just the way he grabs rebounds out of the hands of unsuspecting innocents is worth the price of admission. Him stretching out for a rebound is something i hope to see a lot of in the coming weeks. There's just so few people in the NBA that can do that, who have that kind of body with that kind of length. And to think we got him with our only lottery pick of that decade is also an amazing thing.

And he seems to be playing well with Gasol in the minutes they're together. That's a bad sign for the rest of the NBA. The longer we can have 2 7-1 guys on the floor together, the more demoralizing the night becomes for our opponent. I don't care who you are (Duncan), if you see Andrew getting balls you couldn't get with a step ladder, balls you can only hope bounce your way, you're gonna lose hope sooner or later.

But can he keep it up? This has yet to be proven.

Is it ok to cry AFTER getting that woman you so craved...tears of joy...lol

I heard on Mason & Ireland about the transition of Andrew Bynum. They replayed the radio broadcast before the ASG and after their miserable defeat from Cleveland wherein a caller by the name of Scott was vehemently criticizing Drew. Ireland tried to bait the caller that they were expecting Drew any moment, what would the caller want to ask from Drew? He said to tell Drew why he is not getting the rebounds? He is a 7 footer against 6'10" yet being out-rebounded and boxed out from the post. Without the knowledge of the caller, Drew was there listening to the caller. He interjected the broadcast and said that he was not getting enough minutes. According to John Ireland, normally a fan would back out and get intimidated if he knows that he is talking live with the star player. No, the fan continued the blame and taught Drew what to do in the next half. I hope somebody here will continue that part because I did not fully get the exact words the fan said to Drew on the air.

Lo and behold, Ireland and Mason were correct from the time on, we saw the transformation of a monster from meekness Barney-like monster to King Kong of rebounds, that's Drew after ASG.

Therefore, my carrot and stick theory also work in sending a message to the Lakers and coaches. It should go hand in hand with generous praises from lakerholics to have faith and more patience while the other sector works on stirring criticism that addresses to their pride, the shame being the Champ and the threat of Melo for Drew. That's the concept why convicted criminals gets into incarceration, afterward controlled rehabilitation or parole before being a freeman. Our Lakers who are back to back to Champs, have been in the Finals for three consecutive years, spoiled by the spoils extended to them by fans and the city NEED also the motivation. They always need to be reminded of their mission from time to tim

GOOoooOOOO LAKERS !!

They are our tears today. But, never you mind. Those tears will belong to someone else real soon. Like, in about seven or eight weeks or so. The Heat have the makings of an awesome team. They have the potential to go to the finals of the Eastern Conference. That is all I expect out of them this year. My goal for them was a 50-32 regular season and they are on course for that. I do not expect them to beat the Lakers on Thursday. It is hard to beat the Lakers one time, not to mention trying to do it twice. So, we'll concentrate on the others, like Portland tomorrow and Memphis and Denver. Let's Go Heat.

Lakertom,

thats a little more info that i wanted.. haha. but thats alright.

so RICKY RICARDO is back from the living dead??

damn... how many damn lives this guy have?

is this guy a freakin comedian or what??

somebody tell him this is a lakers blog not some freakin clown convention.

There are some of us that you'd rather see cry than to have to deal with a possible alternative to crying. I used to cry at times, especially when someone did something to me that made me want to retaliate physically. I thought that it was far better that I cry than to do something that might send someone to the hospital and, perhaps, land me in jail for many years or for life. I am not in jail, so my crying (instead of possibly killing) has be medicine for me throughout my life. Let the Heat players and anyone else who wants to cry. I bet you that if you went to Soledad or Angola or the Toombs and talked to lifers, many of them will tell you they wished they had just cried, if they are honest with you. So, cry Heat and come out kicking butt beginning with Portland!

And then I'm supposed to cry afterwards?

Really?

That's got to be a huge turn-on for the woman. A man blubbering over her post coitus.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Edwin Gueco,

1. Please don't apologize for your English. You're a core blogger here.

2. There's nothing wrong with having emotion and passion. Passion in particular is a good thing. There's nothing wrong with one's eyes welling up a bit in a moment of pain, joy, or beauty... but to break down in blubbering wreck because one didn't get what they want or they're scared? Give me a break.

That's the point in the story where this happens:

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

One more win in a row tomorrow folks! 1 day at a time. Hope the guys didn't get too distracted by all their extra curricular media doings today!

Thanks Lew but it's cool!!

Shakespeare,

You can cry like a baby when you don't get what you want.

Or you can have a tantrum like a baby and start breaking things and people... when you don't get what you want.

Of you can be a man and deal with it.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

OK THAT RICKY CRAP WAS CRAP CRAP BS CRAPOLA

HE DISRESPECTS THE LAKERS AND LAKER FANS WITH HIS DRIVEL. HE'S OBVIOUSLY PLAYING YOU AND SOME OF YOU FELT THE NEED TO PERPETUATE THIS CLOWN.

I''LL TAKE S. PERKINS ANY DAY OVER THIS GUY
AT LEAST HE ISN'T LAUGHING AT WHAT IDIOTS YOU ARE.

WONDER WHO THIS GUY (OR CREW) REALLY IS (ARE) AND WHY CERTAIN BLOGGERS FELT THE NEED TO GLORIFY HIM WHETHER TRYING TO BE CLEVER, SARCASTIC, OR NOT. MAN IT'S NOT FUNNY WHEN YOU GET PLAYED TRYING TO PLAY SOMEONE. AND IT'S NOT FUNNY WHAT HE SAID.

JUST PATHETIC
GOODNESS, THIS WAS PROBALBY THE LOWEST POINT I'VE HAVE EVER READ IN ALL MY YEARS ON THIS BLOG.

NO EXCUSES THAT WAS WRONG

KUDOS TO THOSE FEW WHO SAW RIGHT AWAY HIS DISRESPECT

Thanks Lew, Jon K, I owe you brothers. Well maybe it's time to call it a night.
Catch you in the morning. maybe I'll have a crying drag out fight with Mrs. mamba24. Thank you gentlemen and ...Good Night!!!

Yeah - Drew - 17 - 2 for 2 - block - alter - sew up the mouth and you have the jello jigglin'.

Trollman, give Ricky the benefit of doubt. He maybe a clowning us I still give the allowance of extending a helping hand. It is like our system of justice, he is tried as innocent man until proven guilty. Judging from my experience with foreign friends/clientele from Europe to Asia, they really have difficulty in speaking and writing in English. I don't see language as a hindrance to friendship but it should be used as a bridge in knowing another culture. As the saying goes: "the acquisition of knowledge is the appreciation of one's ignorance."

Troll Man, this aint war and peace my brother it's a Blog. Sports by definition is a game. It aint gone feed my or your family, pay the mortage or anything else. It simply aint that serious bro. Don't make it out to be more than it is. Ask the people in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Lybia about serious my brother. Exacly how did ricky play me. Did he take any money out my pocket? Did he diss my deceased mother like the punk that just posted did. I try to do my part to provide a little entertaiment on the Blog. People know a post of mine immediately so if you don't like my style scroll on my brother, scroll on. What Ricky and I were doing is what has been done from times beginning called playing the dozens or ranking. I don't think TrollMans name ever came up once in any discussion between ricky and I so why you would be upset about this is beyond me. Why are you worried about me being played. I'm a big boy TrollMan. I'm from Chicago, I'm from the Hood. I been in the Marines, I been in combat. I've seen people die. So i'm suppose to worry about some freaking words on a piece of paper....Get real my brother. This is the lowest point you ever seen it. Let's be serious bro. Did you read the ISH the punk wrote about Justa the other day and nobody said ISH so I had too? Well that's neither here nor there. This aint my blog but it aint yours either my brother. I'm gonna post what I post and talk to who I talk to and as long as it's civil, you or no one else is going to tell me who or who not to talk to. Bigger and meaner people than you have tried and yet I'm still here. So I suggest you do what you do and I'll do what I do and let us not let what we do intersect and things will be fine.

This is how the blog works during the time of the KBros. There is a continuity of discussion among bloggers and visitors. It is not interrupted by threads and constant repost from others. As you all can see, we create our own subject matters sometimes it jumps from one topic to another. I have been suggesting this format to MM, however I do not know the economics of too much threads or less threads within a day. We also give MM his own style of moderating. As you all can see, the topics become interesting because it is driven by the bloggers not the moderator.

MAMBA WHY NO KISS?

thriller does it =/

Edwin Gueco,

Interesting observations.

I appreciate and am impressed by the prolificness of Mark's writing, but I also enjoy watching a bunch of Lakeraholics have time to simmer in a pot together and see what comes out of it.

Sometimes a fantastic new dish... sometimes a mush that needs to be thrown in the garbage.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

Quick musical catch up...

@LakerTom – Forget crying. Watching Jackie do his thing on Lonely Teardrops just brought a big grin to my face. (I know lance from da bronx appreciate it). And Lucinda is wasn’t all bad either :-)

@Mamba – I almost missed you slid the Pfunk in there. Laker Nation is one nation indeed.

@63 Footer – loved the Moving Sidewalks. I didn’t know that was the story before ZZ. Thanks for the Big Runga intro. Nice and simple. Cool. And Laura…she can just flat out sang!

@Jon K – Rosie Grier – now that was a surprise.

@Mark G – Crying won’t help you now. Ben is good.

@JohnnyP – Checking in with the Van Halen. No wonder Tone Loc sampled that boy.

@Wes – great Denzil scene from Glory.

@Edwin – keep posting brother. The message and the messenger are appreciated. And thanks for the report from Ireland/Mason show.

"My suggestion would be if you don't want the scrutiny, you don't hold a championship celebration before you've even practiced together" - Stan Van Gundy

I love that Miami is constantly in the limelight...This way our boys fly under the radar...no drama...no microscope...no issues...

Just think, if the Cheats didn't form this summer, the sharks and the media would be making the Lakers the news in the Association...This would be the headlines...

Ron Artest Leaning Towards Rap Instead of Basketball
Kobe Shoots Them Into Losing
Kobe Shoots Them Into Another Win, When Will He Get Help
Matt Barnes Intensity or Integrity
Steve Blake Still A No Show
Derek Fisher Union Duties Effecting Play
Lamar Odom Pinches Kim's Butt
Pau Gasol Is Burned Out
PJ Hints He Will Go To Miami If LeBron Does
Lakers Arguing Over Touches
Jim and Jeannie Buss Feuding Over Team

So is the character of yellow journalism, and I'm just happy the Lakers haven't had the spotlight since some talent went to South Beach...

ISN'T THIS TOO MUCH PERSONAL INFORMATION AND WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH BB?

SHAME ON YOU LAKERTOM FOR DRAGGING YOUR WIFE INTO THIS:

Great response from Orlando coach:

Heat guard Dwyane Wade's remark that "the world is better now" because Miami is struggling also didn't sit well with some in the league. Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy shot back at the Heat on Monday as his team prepared for Monday night's game against Portland.

"I do chuckle a little bit when they complain about the scrutiny they get," Van Gundy, a former Heat coach, told reporters in Orlando. "My suggestion would be if you don't want the scrutiny, you don't hold a championship celebration before you've even practiced together. It's hard to go out yourself and invite that kind of crowd and celebration and attention, and then when things aren't going well, sort of bemoan the fact that you're getting that attention."

GDUB,

That's a good look on Mr. Blacc. I like his versatility and message. I might have to pick that one up.

Of course, your selection of Alex was a good contribution to the crying game.

Edwin,

My comments to Ricky were complimentary of you and I enjoy reading your posts so don't take it the wrong way.

cheers!

Norcal,

The message being conveyed by LakerTom about crying is beautiful. He has perfected the art of describing it in sex without being malicious. I know it has nothing to do with basketball but the subject matter of crying came from basketball news in Heat's locker room. We are sharing here our personal experiences on crying which sometimes gets out the realm of the game.

Here is what Pablo Picasso said: "Art is never chaste. It ought to be forbidden to ignorant innocents, never allowed into contact with those not sufficiently prepared. Yes, art is dangerous. Where it is chaste, it is not art."

Norcal,

Speaking of SVG. I don't think the David Stern and him will be having dinner anytime soon after Van Gundy fired these remarks when asked if he expressed his frustration to the league office over DHoward being fouled 593 times and none of them being called flagrant:

"This is the system David Stern and his minions like it," Van Gundy said. "So that's the system you have ... I certainly can't have an opinion because David Stern, like a lot or leaders we've seen in this world lately, don't really tolerate other people's opinion or free speech or anything. So I'm not really allowed to have an opinion. So it's up to him. He decides and he likes the system he has."

Norcal,

"My comments to Ricky were complimentary of you and I enjoy reading your posts so don't take it the wrong way."

Got it bro but there is also merit on your observations. I myself could not understand what I just posted. lmao poor brother!

Misc NBA thoughts a few game I watched tonight….

Good victory by Memphis over OKC….the crowd in Memphis actually was a factor. Lionel Hollins has his squad playing tough. Conley more than held his own vs. Westbrook.
Conley 20pts/9asst/0 turnovers
Westbrook 27pts/7 asst/5 turnovers

Portland took advantage of DHoward suspension. What was SVG thinking letting Earl Clark guard LA one on one in the 4th? Andre Miller continues to give Portland fine production. I thought Portland overpaid when they signed Wes Matthews this summer. But he’s proving me and all his critics wrong. His game might not be aesthetically pleasing, but he gets the job done.

Dallas survived Minny despite not playing that good. Kudos to KLove for breaking Moses double double record. Of course, we know Wilt would hold that record if they kept such stats back in the day!

One last thought on crying in bball. Here's a excellent read Rod Benson, former NBDL,Torrey Pines High and Cal baller.

SVG better call his financial planner and arrange for some money to be set aside for the david stern fund... EVERYONE in the league knows the nba have established their OWN rules of basketball.. you want fair refs watch ncaa basketball you want corrupt refs based on special superstar treatment system to drive up tv ratings and generate more $$ for the league you watch the nba... its like all the players, coaches and owners know it but they cant say a damn thing at risk of a big fine... stern set the tone back in mark cubans early ownership days.. here was a maverick hotshot brass rookie owner not afraid to speak his mind about the league officiating.. then it took some fines of 25K then 100K then 250K even 500K and it wasnt long till cuban kept his mouth shut.. look at him now.. hes a good little boy.. sterns got him in a full submission.

I'm outta here for the night, but I'll leave you with Ron Ron checking in on NBA TV tonight with his thoughts on crying. (Jon K are you going to say Ron’s not a real man?) Anyway you gotta love the look on Stack's face as Ron is telling his story.

Speaking of crying.. I think I almost cried back in the summer of 2007 when the lakers signed luke to 6 years at 30MIL.. Now that had to be one of the alltime saddest moments in laker history.

>>>WAR PJ leaving the starters in for whatever reason well into the fourth.

Really? Did you really not get that. I thought it was totally obvious.

He had bench players in and they let a 31 point lead slip to 22 in a mere 2 minutes. The Lakers offense went like this: Bricked outside shot, turnover by Pau, bricked outside shot, bricked outside shot. 87-65, and Spurs with HUGE momentum.

Even at that point, he gave them another minute to try to right the ship, and they bricked two more 25-footers.

Say hello to my leetle friend the Black Mamba.

Lakers hold them at 20 for a couple of minutes until that's too big a margin for the Spurs to come back. Kobe sits.

When the lead was at 21, if the Spurs would have kept up their hot streak, by the time Phil put Kobe in, it would have been a 14 point game with 5 minutes left and Pop would have been putting Ginobili and Parker and Duncan in as well.

If Phil would have just let the scrubs play out to the end of the game and they had done as poorly as that minute and a half stretch from 8:07 to 6:24, the Spurs would likely have won.

It wasn't about a statement.

It was about MAKING SURE they secured the win. The bench wasn't getting the job done, so Phil sent in the first team until he was positive it was decided.

KobeKong,

>>>>I think some people here in this blog are 40-50 years old.

Yep, you've got that part right...

>>> Posting some oldies songs

some people do that...

>>>that sucks.

Ah, the limited taste of youth.

So you don't like anything more than 5 years old, here's how I felt when you stumbled onto the blog:

I Don't Want to Cry by Mariah Carey would've been a perfect for the Heat.

If you're under 50 years of age you'll probably not know this song:
