Laker girl profile: Erin wants to work in the fashion industry

Erin Laker girl

This is the tenth post of a weekly series that helps you get to know the Laker Girls (who, by the way, officially go by one name only)

Laker Girl name: Erin

Hometown: Bridgewater, NJ

Area of Residence: Downtown - Los Angeles, CA

College/High School: Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising

What prompted you to want to become a Laker Girl? I saw the Laker Girls at my very first Laker game vs. the Spurs a few years ago and I knew instantly I wanted to be in that position. I was inspired by their routines, uniforms and smiles they possessed.

What do you think stood out to the judging panel, about you, regarding your audition? Probably how I dance on my toes! I am, and have always been, criticized about not putting my heels on the ground when I dance! I feel my ballet background makes it very difficult for me to change my style. (but, I try!)

What do you think makes a good Laker Girl? Confidence and motivation to do your job well. Our schedule is always changing, as well as our uniforms, routines and places to be at! So, it is crucial to be organized. If you can accomplish that, not to mention, maintain a smile and positive attitude - you're on your way to being a good Laker Girl!

What is your dance experience? It seems I tried everything! I took classes in jazz, modern, lyrical, tap, even some salsa and merengue classes but focused on ballet. I've performed in The Nutcracker 6 times and trained at the Briansky School of Ballet in Saratoga Springs, New York. I was also part of the Towson University Dance Team during their 8th consecutive national championship title.

Favorite dance routine, while being a Laker Girl? Right now, Higher Ground is my favorite routine! The song is classic rock and it’s fun to rock out to - and that's how I feel when we're performing it.

Favorite uniform? Our purple “ruffle” uniform!! It is very girly, fun and flattering!

Favorite Lakers player? Lamar Odom! He seems to have a positive attitude and since I have been on the team, I have watched him grow as a player and teammate. It's been a pleasure to watch a great player in the making.

Favorite Laker Girl memory so far? Our trip to London and Barcelona was an experience I will never forget! While in Barcelona, me and my teammates/ best friends dipped our feet into the Mediterranean Sea…. I will forever remember that moment.

What do you like most about being involved, as a Laker Girl, at local charity/community events? I love participating in events that make a difference in people’s lives. To be able to say I was a part of these events is an honor. I feel our community is very thankful we, the Laker Girls, are at these events and that is very self gratifying.

What would you say is your beauty secret?A great facial cleanser/moisturizer and hair treatment!

What diet/workout tips do you have?Try making activities fun by getting a workout through playing sports with friends……it is a great way to not feel that your workout is a chore. I think people enjoy "working out" when they are doing something they love or feeling relieved from the crazy, Los Angeles on-the-go mentality.

What are your Hobbies?I love riding my bike and cooking delicious homemade meals when I have the time!

Career aspirations? I aspire to be a buyer in the fashion industry, particularly in shoes and accessories!

Justa

It aint a career ending injury... Last thing I wanna do is offend our lady justa.. I wouldn't dare.. I'm a true gentleman... I'm simply suggesting some time off before the playoffs for our soon to be grandfather PG might do him and OUR lakers some good

And whether or not you or any other 27 other bloggers agree I am unconditionally with pure and unadulterated love and faith ALL FOR LAKERS WINNING..

So again like I said time off equals more rest for dfish and more PT for blake which may make OUR lakers a better team in the playoffs.
.. its simply a difference of opinion and nothing more so I'll justa leave it at that... And justa for good measure I really think dfish flops is his one and only true INTANGIBLE weapon.. It puts opposing bigs in foul trouble during pick and rolls and is a true momentum changer... so maybe he should practice them more cause we'll need those for the playoffs!!

My point was, I don't think yello is alone in his optimism that over the long run, it's a GOOD thing (I'm not subscribing) - and why would any fans have this belief?

Things have gotten that far out of hand. That's why.

Erin the Laker Girl is definitely date-able, but that's a different topic

Tim-4-Show - I think MM and Erin would make a nice couple. He would have his sportswriter gig, traveling with the team, etc., and she would have her fashion buying thang, traveling around, etc. They'd have exciting and fulfilling lives.

Get to it MM!

Tim.. Thanks much appreciated but be careful you're awfully close to walkin that fine line where ur fanhood may be questioned.. Sometimes Its like walkin on freakin eggshells around here.. Just watch your back.. Somebody might cheapshot u from behind!

yello - I'm not offended at all. I can only imagine Fish would be if he read that. Besides, offending me is the last thing you should be worried about. I'd be more concerned about what others thought of my character if I were you. This is not "time off" for Fish. This is an injury. To be happy about it isn't right.

Rewind to the Fish interview after Game 3 in last year's playoffs. Fish emotional and in tears because of his play that night. Fish is a class act, a great vet and great example to the of the other players. He always plays hard, keeps in great shape and is a leader and great team mate.

Knowing his character, and his dedication to the team, and that interview...I could never be happy if Fish got hurt...no matter how terrible he played...

hobbit, cool deal. This is more of a fantasy anyways, the Lakers simply don't have the required frontcourt depth to make it a reality - at least outside of a few minutes here and there.

"If he's not rebounding, then how is he supposed to energize his
game? Can you think of a great game LO had where he didn't have a good
number of rebounds?"

L.O. is versatile enough to do more than rebound. He is a glue guy anyways, adapting what he does and his game on a given night to what is required. Why do you think that he needs to be a rebounder to be effective, or 'energize his game' like you say? Is he going to sulk if he outside the paint, covering a guard? I don't get the point you're making.

"So the greatest rebounder ever playing at 110% of Rodman's absolute peak season (which itself was 110% higher than his second highest) would get about 21 per game. (And the leaders in rebounds this season, Camby and Howard, rebound at 2/3rds of that rate.)"

I don't know where you're going with that, outside of using the stat you pulled up as a jab at Drew. Might as well compare Drew to Wilt's '62 season and try to make an inference there.

Why not look at the finest rebounder in the game today, Kevin Love, and see how Bynum has matched up with him?

When I mentioned Kobe matching up with Westbrook, you said:
"and you're missing the point. again. LO is too slow to guard
good PG's, SG's, & SF's. It's *not* about the offense. It's about the defense.
Moving LO away from the basket means that you don't get to take advantage
of his size in a meaningful way. You prevent his rebounds."

OK, but again, this is when Drew/Pau is on the floor, too. These are minutes L.O. wouldn't ordinarily be getting, it's minutes he's in as point-forward or just a big lineup. He would be replacing Fish or Blake.

If Kobe is already covering the Westbrooks, doesn't that mean Fish is too slow to cover them? I just don't get the argument you're making, Kobe is covering the quickest guards as it is. L.O. would be covering the two-guard then.

If this happens, outside of the Utah game you mention, but on a more regular basis then we'll really see what happens. It's not going to though, Phil is no Nellie, and in his swan song, month and a half or so left of the regular season, he's not going to start tinkering.

AS ALWAYS - AND FOREVER - GO LAKERS!!!!!!

I had a former girlfriend who went to FIDM.

Since I live a few blocks away, I will say that it is an absolute pleasure to be walking by the campus when class gets out. So many beautiful women.

Erin is in good company.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

What was his name?

Inquiring Minds,

The term "girlfriend" implies which gender?

Ha ha. Very funny. It is to laugh.

I am so incredibly impressed by your cleverness.

GO LAKERS!!!

CCX,

this thread:

"If he's not rebounding, then how is he supposed to energize his

L.O. is versatile enough to do more than rebound. He is a glue guy anyways, adapting what he does and his game on a given night to what is required. I don't get the point you're making.

my addition: After watching Lamar for ~ 5 years as a Laker, by far, his
best performances include lots of rebounding. It leads to easy putbacks as
well as coast-coast layups. It also leads to second chance shots. 99% of
all are losses happen when our frontline isn't rebounding well. Our biggest
advantage, outside of Kobe 7 PJ, are our mobile big men.

I say that it energizes him, because his shooting is suspect. Getting putbacks
& dunks seem to get his juices going and he plays better. He shoots better.
Does it have to be this way? No. Does it seem to be this way? Yes.

you wrote: OK, but again, this is when Drew/Pau is on the floor, too. These are minutes L.O. wouldn't ordinarily be getting, it's minutes he's in as point-forward or just a big lineup. He would be replacing Fish or Blake.

my response: Stop & think about this for a minute. Are you *really*
going to ask Lamar Odom to flip his game back and forth? Are you *really*
going to do this and think it will work? We have complained about the
lack of consistency out of Lamar Odom for his entire time in LA. This has
been his most consistent by FAR! And *NOW*, when he's finally playing
at all-star level/candidate for best 6th-man your going to confuse him
by making him play PG.

W/ respect, you are incorrect. I said this 3 years ago and I repeat myself
today. The championship depends on the frontline/rotation of the Lakers.
I say that with full awareness of the slowness of D-Fish, the broken fingers of
Kobe Bryant and the erratic shooting of Ron Artest.

[ Yes, LakerTom it does pain me to have to say that Bynum is critical. :) ]

The reason why it depends upon the frontline is because that's where the
highest % shots come from and that is the place where the defense
rests on. Kobe will be Kobe. He'll find a way to get it done. Fisher is going
to look really bad and have bursts of brilliance until he's finally too old
in which case he'll just really old. Artest's defense is the most critical and
we'll believe he can play defense until he can't.

Anything that screws with the frontline rotation needs to be seriously
examined. Anything that makes us worse defensively needs to be
tossed out the window. The last 3 championships have been won with
defense and this year will be no different.

It's nice to see Sasha get major burn on the Nets. I saw he logged 47 min (triple OT) with 25 pts (6-9 3 point range), 5 rb, 3 asst, 1 block, and only 1 turnover.

But please don't say the Lakers shouldn't have traded him. He was buried so far down on the bench, he never could get into the offensive rhythm like he's doing now. At least he's getting a chance to prove himself.

The only thing I'm slightly peeved about is they traded him too soon, to save money and get a player they never use. If they had waited, they probably could have gotten a much better player in the fire sale that happened towards the end of the trading deadline.

Of course, even if they could have swapped Sasha for Gerald Wallace, there's no guarantee PJ would play him anyways...

Hi guys,

I just wanted to post photos from my Lakers game in Portland. The quality is shitty as I had to zoom in so much but yeah. There are also some pix from my trip in Portland but you don't have to look at those.

Here is the link http://alturl.com/yqmzs

Enjoy!

P.S: Another Laker girl who points out the benefits of moisturizing LOL

Damn, I guess I really should moisturize... It seems to be very important.

A lot of people were for the Sasha trade when it happened because he wasn't playing and it made economic sense. I don't think anybody thinks it was still a good idea. If he was on the team, he would be playing. The way our guards not named Kobe have been playing, PJ would have put him in at some point. I was against the trade from the beginning. I loved to watch his high-energy, defensive antics. It would get under opposing players skin. He got and continues to get a lot of steals. He was a streaky shooter. He would get hot and hit three after three – just like that other guy on our team… ;-) I was pissed that he wasn’t getting minutes and more pissed when they traded him. It seemed short-sighted then and even more short-sighted now.

I suggested the triple towers w/ LO at PG several days ago and was immediately told how bad an idea it was because we would have nobody good coming off the bench. This seems ridiculous. If you take one of them out and put in someone else, we have what we have now - two at a time. I agree that LO's defensive liabilities would be far less than the offensive upside. I don’t understand why PJ has never just tried it for the hell of it for a few games and see how it goes. I don't think LO would have a problem. I am sure he is proud of the fact that he is one of the few players in the history of the NBA that can play all five positions. The Triple Towers! He would probably start putting up Magic like numbers. Magic still got a lot of rebounds. Why not try it? Why not put your best five players on the floor together? They would be playing volley ball in the paint. We would go up by 20 so fast your head would spin - then it wouldn’t matter who is coming off the bench.

I use "123 Get Samples" to find free samples of major brands online. Please note they update their samples every day but I just pick what ever available at that time and use them.

If Fish and Barnes are questionable, Ebanks is also out and Theo is done for the season....is there no urgency in getting help like a 10-day veteran player from D-League, free agents or Euro League? We are talking of 4 players not playing which could relieve our starters/bench from playing too many minutes during the season. Hard to understand PJ and MK, one is stubborn w/ hard to teach new players on triangle while the GM is a plain cold warrior who is unresponsive to change. Whatever, I just think they stretched the remaining healthy players to the limit. the more playing time for the veterans, the more wear and tear of their bodies come playoffs time.

Guys - Just a reminder. I'm going to take a break during the Lakers' four-game trip this week and will resume duties on the blog first thing Monday morning next week. Obviously this trip is important, but the Lakers have a home heavy schedule after this trip and then the postseason so this was the best opportunity to get some R&R so I'm fully ready to go for the last stretch of the season and for what you all hope will end in a three-peat.

In the meantime, The Times's sports staff will pitch in various capacities similar to when I had time off in December. Updates from practice and morning shootaround, live chats and any other pertinent news items.

Will see everyone back in a week!

Erin is very pretty but i think justa is more prettier than her...

Have you got facebook Jon K?

MM, where are u going? You said very important, are you getting married? lol!

Are the zoo keepers qualified to feed and clean the animals at the Cirque de Lakers Blog. hoho.

Edwin - lol no I said the Lakers' trip was important. Since there's never really an off day when the Lakers are sprinkled with home games and I don't travel, this was the best chance simply to recharge.

MM, I suggest no rest for you especially for these four important games. Wherever you are, you have to say something about the game and post comments. If Lakers come out 4-0 or 3-1, I think you will be welcomed when you return. If it is 2-2 on the road that's something realistic isn't it against 4 quality teams. Supposing it turned out 1-3 or 0-4, hell will break lose in this site. We need a blog umpire. lmao!

Jon K,

TY for the breakdown,

63's and your figure are actually pretty close then; the same practically speaking. I mean who would quibble over a percentage point? I'm not saying that figure is wrong, but on some gut level I'd like to believe it's bigger than 5 or 6 percent.

@Erin - nice profile. You are doing a great job in reppin Laker nation.

@Diandra – nice photos. You picked a great game to go to.
It looks like moistorizing agrees with you :-)

@Lakerholic – I was also strongly against the Sasha giveaway (I won’t even call it a trade), because it hurt the Lakers depth just in case a injury occurred…like now.

@MM – enjoy your vaca…its well deserved. We’ll try not to tear up the house while you’re gone.

@Edwin – it does appear that the FO is stubborn about adding another player. I don’t understand not getting another big to replace Theo. Phil said they may need to add a player earlier this week, so its not a closed case yet.

@yellofever - I deleted your comment in which you expressed delight in Fisher's injury. Criticize players all you want, but expressing pleasure in someone's ill will is personal and distasteful
Posted by: Mark Medina | March 05, 2011 at 06:38 PM

you did what MM? you actually deleted my post? WOW thats a first.. i was gonna let this go but i cant belive what i just read... i do agree it is malicious to wish INJURY UPON ANYONE but its not like i'm getting off here seeing him writhe in any form of pain.. GEEZ LOUISE.. you make sound as if i'm sitting here in my evil lab with my voodoo doll trying to afflict him with some real emotional or physical torture.. HAHA.. so i got a little excited when i heard he was injured.. zippity do da.. if you actually go back and read my comments my true motive for expressing any pleasure contrary to your opinion was to SEE BLAKE GET MORE MINUTES and not see this guy burn in hell... i was suggesting an injury might be good for dfish because some extended rest might not only do his old legs some good when we might need him most in the PLAYOFFS but also give blake the playing time he needs to get his game back before the PLAYOFFS... too bad you too missed my point.

so before you go playing moral GOD MM how bout not jumpin to conclusions and takin things out of context??

hey regular season police i think an addition to the commandments is in order and very fitting for this momentous occasion...

thou shalt never in any way shape or form express any delight in seeing a laker player injured.

@MM… As one of the first posters to suggest that there might be a silver lining in the cloud that is Derek Fisher’s injury, I think yellofever is getter a bad rap here. I had no doubt that the glee he was expressing was not because Derek got injured but because it will give Steve Blake a chance to play. While I don’t share his confidence in Blake, I have no doubt yellofever did not want Blake to get his chance by Fish getting injured. I would also say the same thing about Steve Blake. That’s not the way he wanted to get his chance to start but it will be his job to do his best to take advantage of it. You know I’ve always been a very staunch supporter of most of your decisions but it is starting to feel like a little too much policing. A comment that yellofever might be a little more judicious in how he stated his opinion would have sufficed in my opinion. I know it’s a thankless job being a ref but I thought in retrospect you might see it differently. In his own way, yellofever was saying the same thing I was. Anyway, much ado about nothing. No blogger but Mike T has ever wished a player to be hurt.

TOM

Mark G,

Well... it depends.

There are enemies, annoyances, strangers, acquaintances, and friends.

Friendship is a very important and special thing and shouldn't be reserved for many people.

The Germans have a term for a person between acquiantance and friend that I like called "bekannte." Bekannte roughly translates into "pal." A bekannte is someone who you like and trust, but you don't necessarily express/feel philia or storge for (different qualities of love).

If you want to expand your criteria to include "bekannte," yeah, it's probably significantly beyond THAT 6% I described.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!!

yellofever,

Expressing delight at the injury of a Laker is disgusting to Lakeraholics.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

LRob/Mark Medina,

"@MM – enjoy your vaca…its well deserved. We’ll try not to tear up the house while you’re gone."

1. I also hope Mark enjoys his vacation.

2. There is NO WAY. NO FRICKEN WAY this place will not turn into a carnival of lunatic maniacs on PCP with rabid wolverines as pets while Mark is away. NO WAY.

Every single time the Blog Lord has left over the lifetime of the blog, the blog population turns on itself in a way that would make the characters from "Lord of the Flies" blush.

Lakeraholicism. She is a brutal mistress.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

Adrian Palomar,

Yes.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

@Lakertom.. Sometimes bloggers get so defensive over certain players they're too busy defending they lose sight of the main message.. Appreciate u speakin up.. Now ur the kind of guy I'd take the shirt off my back in a streetfight.

@Jonk.. No offense but its not my problem if your laker palates are too weak.. You're a big boy I'm sure you can deal with it... And no I'm really not gonna explain myself again.

yellofever,

"No offense but its not my problem if your laker palates are too weak.. "

You are forever a troll to me.

"your laker palates are too weak"

You meant "your laker players are too weak" since "y" and "t" are very close on the keyboard.

Dude, you are not a Lakers fan. You are person with problems.

Go away.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!!

yellofever,

Thou art part of the 20%.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

@Lakertom.. Hope my streefight comments don't go getting misconstrued around here.. To reiterate my intentions were to express my sincere thanks for standing up against the loud chorus of boos.. But I'm sure this blog will go misinterpreting that again to mean I would express delight in seeing you in streetfight or something.. Haha

And speaking of streetfights...

@jonk...20%? Of which 20% do you speak? The 20% of the blogosphere you want to punch in the throat or the 20% of the lakerblog you have challenged to a fight in a dark alley? I kid.. LoL
.. Good night and tomorrow is a whole new day!

Wow allow me to recap todays exciting turn of events:

Yellofever somehow suggests dfish injury is blessing in disguise for team

A certain lady blogger suggests i watch my mouth if I care what others think of me then wishes a terrible arthritic injury upon my poor fingers in return

Another blogger calls me sick

Another blogger says I am not a true fan

MM then deletes my comments probably under pressure to appease and maintain his status quo

Now another blogger implicitly suggests they would get satisfaction in punching me in the throat.

Hahaha.. Great group of guys we have here.. Another day in life of our lakerblog.

Good night!

Some of the typing on this blog is so annoying. Like the space after space enter line enter line.. makes it hard to read. But I think I am guilty of it too, so whatever. Anyway, I can't wait for the game tomorrow although sadly I have work every sunday from 11-6:30. (Sunday evening games I miss you!) I will probably sneak on the computer a bit here and there when I don't have a lot of work to do, so I hope someone can find me a link. Lets go Lakers, we came so close to beating the spurs last game I don't see why we can't do it tomorrow. It's a statement game in my opinion. LETS GO LAKERS.

Diandra,

http://livetv.ru/en/allupcomingsports/3/

Go Kings!
'Sonnybelfast

I was thinking more about LO at pg.

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=18987

snippet:
"It's very tough," adds Love. "It's not like going from the four position to the five position. He's going from the four to the three, so he's a lot more perimeter oriented and has to guard different guys out there and not guys that are running to the block every single time. It's very different. I don't know if I could adjust to it as quickly as he has. He's going to adapt to different things that are coming his way, especially on the defensive end."

yellowfevor here you go.

27 Commandments

#16 Thou shall never publicly express any delight in seeing a Laker player injured.

Two things to say, and I think they're really important.

1. Can we cut yellofever some slack? [ LakerTom, way to man up! Kudos ]

2. Are there any brazilians out there? This is the second time I've gone to
a brazillian restaurant and that thing you do with steak is magical.

What *ARE* those spices????

yellowfever,

Unfortunately MM long ago aligned himself with these types which in turn have been empowered to nth degree, pretty much dictating blog policy with the blessing of the moderator.

Personally I wonder if privately, MM ever regrets this alliance?

Certainly we have lost a significant and distinctive alternative voice in this "New World Laker Blog Order"

Good Morning Sonny BelFast, HobbitMage and RSP!
GOD@##@@!!! I renounce my membership in the 27 and I'm taking my talents to ....AW HELL!! Not only am I not a member of the 27, but...but I have no talents. Never Mind Carry On!!!

Good Morning Mamba

great day to be a Laker fan and taking on the so-called best of the west.

I'm fully ready to go for the last stretch of the season and for what you all hope will end in a three-peat.

Just a question about the first sentence... Is it because oyour not tryingto cause a conflict of interest ? Or if my memory serves me right you actually aren't a fan, basically it's the job??Just curious.Anyone who can read should know to what I am referencing...

On another note I mentioned this b4. Is Kobe any of the laker girls favorites? Is he that bad or is it rules because of Vanessa??Just checking..

Hey Yellofever I for one got your point,it seems some things we should just keep to ourselves around here.I've had similar experiences as well,in the real world though not the virtual one.Just the other day i was talking to a fellow fan,he basically asked me if I gave up.I told him I'm still a fan.I just don't kill myself to watch games anymore,at least till the playoffs.I told him (along the lines of edwin and a few other bloggers) ig guys making millions play at times as if they don't give a damn, then why should I..He looked at me dead serious and said I'm no fan..This seems to be a problem with alot of Laker fans etc.I let him to know that I am a fan,but he's a fanatic..even though these words are supposed to mean the same thing, there's obviously some people that are like cult followers. It's really disgusting sometimes, you can take a break from the blog, but gotta meet up to people like that in real life..Well here's to a 3-peat or there will be some suicides for sure....

WTH??? THERE'S A NEW WORLD LAKER BLOG ORDER?? No, No, No!!
1st the 27 then the NWLBO...God!@!@%$%^!!! THIS IS MADNESS!!
Let us appoint one, ONE I say DICTATOR and be done with this ISH!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more infighting, folks. We need to turn our collective energy toward the team that stands in our way today: the San Antonio Spurs.

Biggest game of the season, thus far? Sure feels like it to me. This would be a statement road win, and I'm looking for a statement from this Lakers squad.

Ball movement, defensive intensity, execution, focus.

Go Lake Show!

Markg33: I hate the word Escrima, looks too much like excrement

yello - I apologize if I misunderstood your comments. I also apologize for the arthritis remark. I didn't wish it upon you, but I understand how you took it that way. Anyways - we have a game to focus on today. Hope the Show takes care of business.

LET IT SAID, LET IT BE WRITTEN, LET IT BE DONE!!!!
SO SAY WE ALL!!!

Mamba24

I wouldn't mind a dictator, after all we had two in the K Bros when this blog use to be exhilarating.

One thing though, No member of the Renegade Chat should be considered. Members there represent a conflict of interest and are not genuinely loyal to the one and only true LA Times Laker blog.

So back to the important things of life ....

Sea/Kosher salt? really?

Escrima Association,

polypropolene [sp?] are very interesting. the oscillations are
quite challenging.

Have you ever used a rubber wrap on your sticks? That rattan can
disintegrate so quickly!

Very proudly I might add. Let's see you're a lawyer, then an Airline what's next a Biatch?

Tsk tsk ...

@MAMBA24… Good morning, Larry. What could be better than French toast and bacon, a Coke over ice, a couple of tokes, and Game Day Roll Call for breakfast to start a great Sunday in Lakersville. I’m looking for the Lakers to bring their A-Game today. Here’s my prescription for a sweet victory:
…..
(1) Run the Triangle Offense efficiently to control the pace of the game and minimize turnovers and lapses in transition defense. As Phil has stated, our defense really starts with running our offense. More ball and player movement and lots of assists. Less isolation and jump shots early in the clock.
…..
(2) Play inside-out basketball on offense to take advantage of our superiority and length in the front court. Pound the ball inside to Drew, Pau, Lamar, Ron, and Kobe. Get Duncan and the Spurs bigs in foul trouble and build a big advantage in points in the paint, offensive rebounding, and free throws.
…..
(3) Take care of the ball because turnovers are always the wild card. Not only do they waste an opportunity to score but they give it to the other team. Consider every turnover to be a 4-point play. More quick passing of the ball and cutting by players. Less dribbling, especially through crowds.
…..
(4) Seal the paint and protect the rim on defense to erase mistakes by our perimeter players. This means that Drew has to play defense against the Spurs like he did against the Bobcats, challenging and blocking shots, intimidating and forcing the Spurs to become a jump shooting team.
…..
(5) Stay at home on 3-point shooters. Let Drew, Pau, and Lamar play their men 1-0n-1. Trust Drew and our rotations to protect your back and prevent penetrators from scoring down low. The key with the Spurs is to take away points in the paint and 3-point shots, forcing them to take non-paint 2’s.
………………………

Obviously you are right Practice Season Police. I have sinned and I must be punished so that the Blog cannot say that MM is playing favorites... I APOLOGIZE FOR SUCH LANGUAGE AND I MAMBA24/aka Larry Holiway NOW SELF BAN MYSELF!! 3-PEAT FOR MAMBA24 LAKER NATION!! LOVE YA ALL!!!

mamba24 AGAIN, like many times in the past, put on HER tutu and walked into the sunset. (maybe "she" should learn to check"HER" messages before posting/POST and stop being the DEFENDER/BLOG MODERATOR.) cheer leading fits HER best.

What the heck is going on with this blog this morning???
One thing that has always attracted me here is that the focus was always on Laker basketball. Is everyone on edge because of the Spurs game? This is supposed to be fun, not a source of stress. Can we all calm down a taste?

An embarrassment of riches!

Celtics new "bench" would be a playoff team :

F-Jeff Green
F-Troy Murphy
C-Nenad Krstic
G-Carlos Arroyo
G-Sasha Pavlovic

@Hobbit.. Gracias and no spices the secret is just rock salt

@VI lakerfan.. Agree. I consider myself a cult fan compared to the average fan but even I lost much passion this year

@justa.. No worries I know u had no malintent whatsoever.. But like regular season police says ur voice and opinion carries great weight around here.. With great power comes great responsibility. Pls use it wisely!

@larry.. Top of the morning.. Get yo hiney back in here.. Only few hours till tipoff!

This is how it usually goes, the timing is always quite curious and the same characters are always suspiciously involved.

Expect the blog to be moderated shortly or my name isn't RSP

Turk Air,

Just focusing on those acquired during the past week.

Not including : Baby Davis, Delonte West, Von Wafer, Jermaine O`Neal

As for Shaq, he just dropped 20 pounds!
We`ll "unveil" him during the playoffs, as he goes for ring #5!

Imagine how many I would have scored in Game 2 if I had knees.

RED`S LOVE CHILD

Jeff Green's last game was interesting
he had 21 points on 8/11 fg
but was a -9 and had only two rebounds.

hard to say what this trade will eventually mean.

glad to hear he is down to 400 lb. there is no RING large enough for his ego. the only one he should fight for anymore. he looks grotesque even at 399.

As for Shaq, he just dropped 20 pounds!
Posted by: RED`S LOVE CHILD | March 06, 2011 at 09:55 AM

What happened, Red? Did Snaq drop his breakfast tray??

As for Shaq, he just dropped 20 pounds!

unfortunately, he was 50 pounds overweight coming into the season

RSP,

It means that Jeff Green is the "reincarnation" of Len Bias!!

bronxlakerfan

now that was funny

No, No, NO!!!!!!! These are my DEMANDS:
*
(01) A "COME BACK MAMBA24 BANDWAGON" with lots & lots of names & beautiful "Oh please come back Mamba24 you are the greatest thing on earth" comments on it.
(02) At least one RCOTD a week!! I need a lot to catch up with Rick & 63 & Justa!!!
(03) A Blog Thread devoted exclusively to MAMBA24 where he makes his “DECISION” on whether to come back or not.
(04) Kwame Brown & Smush Parker to be brought back and placed on the roster immediately to share in the 3-Peat that they helped bring about!!!
(05) Justanothermambafan to take sole custody of me!!!
These demands are NON-NEGOTIABLE, although...If you can get me number (5)... the hell with all the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all know that Snaq has been a double-double machine his whole career.

Problem is that, for the latter part of it, his stats have been recorded at IN-N-OUT!

Good morning Lakerholics (and those who like to banter with them). Yes, it's been awhile.

There will be the usual live chat starting around 12:20-12:30ish.

And would you please give Shaquille 'Still Filling in the Blanks' O'Neal a break. I just checked on basketballreference.com and he's only made 290 million dollars in salary during his expansive career. I'm sure he would have thought he'd have banked half a billion by now (he probably has since that's only salary and not endorsements).

I'll catch you later when firing up the chat.

Dan Loumena
Assistant Sports Editor

Enough of this nonsense I must go root my hometeam on to victory!!!

Time for a Pre-Game Song with Lyrics Revised to Put a Smile on Mamba24's face. Go to have you back from your short self-imposed ban (what'd you do during your exile? I know, you watched Princess Jimmy fall down...):

(Sung to the Tune of "Papa Loves Mambo" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhkzD23AtN0&feature=youtube_gdata_player ))

Papa loves Mamba ([Background Singers Shout] "24")
Mama loves Mamba ([Background Singers Shout] "24")
Look at 'em sway with it, scoring all day with it
Shoutin' "Ole" with it, wow

Papa loves Mamba
([Background Singers Shout] "24")
Mama loves Mamba
([Background Singers Shout] "24")
Mamba does great with it, swings like a gate with it
Scoring all day with it, now

He goes to, they go fro
He goes fast, they go slow
He goes left when they go right
Defenders lookin' for Mamba but Mamba is nowhere in sight

Papa loves Mamba ([Background Singers Shout] "24")
Mama loves Mamba ([Background Singers Shout] "24")
Havin' his fling again, younger than spring again
Feelin' that zing again, wow

Papa loves Mamba
([Background Singers Shout] "24")
Mama loves Mamba
([Background Singers Shout] "24")
Don't let him drive on them and don't let him post up them
'Cause Mamba is ballin' tonight

...

The Lakers better put on the best defensive performance so far because they just showed highlights (?) of the Spurs-Heat game. Basically, if you collapse on either Manu or Tony, both will simply kick out to some guy on the 3-pt line. And unlike the Lakers, the Spurs will actually make their open 3-pointers.

Drew needs to be a defensive anchor today.

Obviously should've read "Good to have you back..."

@The Triangulator, Banishment was hell, HELL I say!!!!! No double standards around here. And if it helps me get into....The 27 so much the better!! LMAO!!!!!! You know when the only talent you got is "Pom Pom Waving" you got to use anything you can to make an impression on the 27 and get a membership card. Of course then they wouldn't be the 27 but the 28. But who cares about details. You see Folks, all mamba24 wants is...Affection: http://tinyurl.com/253pmwy _ Affection _ Tamara & The Seen
*
ps Triangulator I have to say it...OUT FREAKIN STANDING SIR!!!! Carry On! OK time for Roll Call!!!

I love how enthusiastic some of the Lakers players got on twitter this AM. Also Joe Smith tweeted me back last night! That makes 2 lakers... 2 down 12 to go! (even though 3 don't even have twitter?)

AND THE BULLS BEGIN THEY'RE COME BACK WITH A VENGENCE!!!!!!

thats "their"
