Kobe Bryant appears in Sprite commercial in China
Lakers guard Kobe Bryant may have had to share the local spotlight during All-Star weekend while Clippers forward Blake Griffin dunked over a silver 2011 Kia Optima. But don't believe for one second that Bryant is getting nudged out just yet, a point he proved when he collected his fourth NBA All-Star MVP the following night.
And as far as his off-the-court ventures? He has that nailed down too. He appeared in a six-minute Nike film to promote his new shoes. His hands and feet were imprinted at Grauman's Chinese Theatre, though it's only temporary. And his latest Sprite commercial featuring Asian pop singer Jay Chou provides another reminder how much his popularity rings strong in China, behind only Yao Ming.
In addition to the commercial, there's a music video (see below) in which Chou performs a song called "The Heaven and Earth Challenge." Published reports say all the income from online ringtone downloads will be donated to charities dedicated to improving basketball facilities in China.

I stand corrected...maybe you don't have a prayer...
don't know how I screwed that one up...
Too bad...it was to make you feel good.

@Mamba – If it’s not too much trouble, please add this line to my comment on the MVP bandwagon- “C’mon home. Like Little Feat said, “We ain’t had enough fun yet”
@Justa (formerly JLF) – Hang in there brother. I'm wishing you all the best!
@DBDH - You got the battle of Tar Heels pg’s in Denver. Coach Karl just announced that Ty Lawson would probably start. What’s your thoughts?

Funny how we get new handles when 888 or topic of 888 surfaces...
LEWSTRS, we get it, you like 888
funny how you like to speak for others
you're one of the ones who keep saying how this blog has changed and how you won't post too much anymore and this and that, and that you're back to your old blog, and you won't do roll calls anymore or say anything until the mamba game day roll call. geeze.
you haven't been around that long and i highly doubt your absense will make anymore difference than 888.
so make up your mind one way or another but stop trying to impose your will on others and stop with the tired threats of not coming around unless things change.
and we'll try to get along without you if you choose to stay away.

Cyber
The PSP heard you. Like Lebron, the psp is taking mental notes! Lol!
Seriously though, the PSP thought the beef was squashed; why you gotta call the PSP out huh? FYI the PSP interact on a daily basis with other bloggers and not just your darling 888.
See, this is how ish starts, next thing you know it will be 'spin zone' again and then they will say the PSP is a troll and all sorts of unsavory things.
Be warned Cyber, all you get is a warning but next time the PSP will be forced to issue an expensive ticket.
Thanks
PSP Officer

Here is a prime example of the problem with this blog...of course cowardly with the new handle again...
MM how do banned people get around your security measures and post again with different handles...

World's Richest Man,
Thank you, but the PSP is not 'Our COURT'. The PSP has already said numerous times that this is the only handle the PSP employees are allowed to blog under. But anway, Mark Zuckerberg is that you?
Thanks

@ LRob,
Good thing Shammond Williams wasn't still around, or else we would need a three-sided coin. LOL!
Nah, seriously though... I like Felton for leadership, but Ty's quickness and ability to finish in traffic is oh-so-tantalizing. I wouldn't be surprised if they deal Felton away for some help in other areas. Lawson and Felton just can't split 48 minutes; they're both too good. Someone has to go, and Karl's statement is more about loyalty in the long term than it is about evaluating talent. We shall see! We have yet to see the last of the player movement. Remember 'Sheed had to stop in the ATL before he went to RoboCop City.
p.s. What's with all the mumbo-jumbo above? Trolls abound!

I posted it during the 3-point shootout, but it bears repeating.
Paul Pierce and Ray Allen made it to the finals of the 3-point shootout but then froze up and lost in the finals...
They must have been practicing for June.

Getting Farmar back? Now that's funny!
I'd take a gob of UCLA alumni over Jordan F: Collison, Westbrook, Watson, Baron, Afflalo, Holiday.
Posted by: rdlee | February 22, 2011 at 05:21 PM
Lew - now that's what I'm talking about! A little acoustic blues flava from Van Halen. I'm thinking the Lakers will take your advice. Time to start up the stretch run...

anything!!!!!!

rdlee - it may be funny but rumor has it that the Lakes are looking at getting Farmar back.
Posted by: PurpleHeatHeart | February 22, 2011 at 06:11 PM
I believe the commercial is airing in Taiwan also. Kobe has unsurpassed popularity as a NBA player in Taiwan.

Who said they're looking to bring Farmar back? For whom?
Posted by: rdlee | February 22, 2011 at 08:50 PM
Ric Bucher reported that Lakes are inquiring to the Nets about getting Farmar back via trade.

What, we have moderation and we are still getting comments from G Money and Mr Laker? I would hate the see the comments that didn't get approved.
Hey, how's this- I will personally ask MVP888 to stop attacking you personally if I can figure out who the ^%$# you are. People who use a new name every day, looks like you are out of luck- Hey, MVP! Come over here and crap on all these people with their fake names! NO, No, don't crap on Practice Season Police! Dang, too confusing around here. Who was that guy earlier on here who suggested a sign in requirement, at least for instaposting? I agree with that guy.
