Repost...because somebody's got to say it...

"I like the diversity and I like the polite flames we zing each other with sometimes. But LET those zings exist. Let fans get it off their chests. Let us have some fun instead of being so super sensitive about everything, especially towards NBA players who could honestly give a damn about what us fans have to say anyway.

Posted by: troy | January 17, 2011 at 06:39 AM"

Troy, polite flames and legitimate criticisms of the team aren't what has been happening lately and what has caused MM to go postal. I've been posting here a long time and I don't recall, even in the Mike Teniente days that we've had the incessant maliciousness and non-stop blog-spamming that has been happening lately. There's an obsessiveness to some of these posters and their targetting of not just players but also specific posters that needs to be stopped. You just can't scroll past their venomous cuckoo posts fast enough and still make sense of the thread.

Furthermore, it's completely bogus to charge that the regulars are only "cheerleaders and pom-pom wavers". Every one of the regulars that I see from justa to Mamba24 to Laker Tom, etc. have posted critical comments or vented from time to time. The difference is that those kinds of posts aren't the ONLY posts they ever make.

Bottom line...it's not "27 bloggers who ruin this blog", it's the few nutcases who post nothing but negative posts 27 (or more) times on the same thread who ruin it.

OK, we get it...you don't like Fish/Pau/Phil/Kobe/Lamar/MM/the rest of us/or...the fact you're not considered one of the 27 and you're steaming, hot, crazy jealous, and ticked off that you're not...

(And I'm not talking about you, Troy)

first repost

DVR Dog days of the NBA.

R Friedman isn't feeling the season. Well put, as usual, I'm not either. Question is, is it us or them? THat depends on your definition of the word "is".

Somewhere in the dark recesses of the "fan" side of the brain, the question no fan wants to ask, lurks. Can these guys turn it on when they want to? There's considerable evidence to the negative side of that question.

Somebody here think they didn't want to beat Miami at home? How 'bout San Antonio and the now cross town rivals?

Time for them to wake up, step up, man up and prove to us and more importantly the league et al, that they can and WILL. Today would be a good day to begin.

GO Lakers.

I think too much emphasis was put on the little incident that happened with 5 seconds left. No biggie...just LO venting a little frustration. The real emphasis should be on the other 11:55 of the 4th quarter when the Clips took the game away. Sounds like Kobe and Phil are putting this one on poor offensive execution.

That what it was: poor offensive execution! Kobe was 1-7 from the arch. Brown, 0-2, Fish 0-4.

We contained Griffin to mere 2 points in the 1st half Good work.

But hitting brick after brick will not get us a win...

Defense wins championships...but only if you score.

Cheers.

Dude...What's up in here this MORNING? All the infighting, it appears everybody has made a valet point on their arguments.

But the BOTTOM line is, the LakeShow is NOT really feeling this SEASON, regardless of what many of you think. There is NO SWITCH, NO LAST STAND, NO PASSION to WIN.

PJ is on his way to RETIRE without the 3PEAT and believe this group of players are not COMMITTED to WINNING this year TITLE.

I've predicted at the beginning of the season, there will be a NEW NBA Champ. The resigning ones are CIRCLING the DRAIN SLOWLY, un-let Mitch and the and the front office put off a major TRADE. Just enjoy the RIDE and break out you're GM hats in the OFF SEASON.

Your NEW NBA CHAMPIONS MIAMI HEAT, just sayin...

Phil knows he's got a Ferrari this year. He's just got it purring along. Trying a few things in 2nd & 3rd

it yet when the NBA cops aren't looking, but knows he can lay a patch of smoke & rubber a block

to floor it this year at all. But just for the heck of it, I think he will...on Christmas day. @CORNERJ

Magic32--Now that's just WRONG.

@Art – You brought up some good points about being disappointed in Blake's production. Here's his numbers compared to Fish…

Fish 6/4pts, .369 fg%, 2.8 asst, 1.5 stls
Blake 4.5pts, .368 fg%, 1.9 asst, 0.4 stls

I agree (with Sean) that Blake has been doing a good job of moving the ball and running the offense. I like how him and Shannon play together. His stability is a good balance for Shannon's freelancing. However, Blake's shooting does need to improve. Overall his play hasn’t warranted him moving to the starting lineup, plus Phil could believe that Fish’s game is a better fit with the first unit (like Bay to LA mentioned).

For some positive news...

With two steals yesterday Kobe passed Mark Jackson for 25th on all time steals list with 1609. This is one stat that’ll be hard for him to crack the top 10. He’s still 500 away.

What’s Kobe’s highest ranking category?
Free Throws Made. He’s only 25 FT’s made behind Big O for 7th place and just 800 behind MJ for 3rd place.

Good Morning DJ. LRob, My selection for today"
http://tinyurl.com/4wdr938 - Happy Birthday _ Stevie Wonder

G.money,

I was jk'ing. I don't mind all the hateraded posts. It make this blog more interesting. At least for me it does.
I too hate on Fishers game sometimes, ok all the time.
But the man leaves me no choice.

Roll call ... checking in!!!

OK, so the Lakers predictably had their 7 game winning streak snapped. Big deal. They've played a lot of games lately. I felt before the weekend that we would win Friday, lose to the Clips and win tonight. So let's win tonight!

I'll be representing at Staples Center and the crowd will be into this one with Mr. Durant and Mr. Westbrook in town. Mr. Artest will also be into this one as will Mr. Bryant and our bigs. As for the least important position on the Lakers, the LEAD guard position?? Meh.

1-2-3 RING! #17 coming up STRONG!!

I remember, or think I remember, early in the season when we first got Blake there was a lot of talk about limiting Fisher's minutes to maybe 20-25 per game and giving Blake a lot of time. Blake doesn't seem to be holding up his end of the bargain.

@DJ LRob, my brother there is no other thing I can say about your music/video selection but...OUT FREAKIN STANDING SIR!!!!!!! KUDOS!!!!

Good Morning, phred! To your point, the Lakers are reaching a point where they need a fifth guard, it has to happen at some point. I'm not one to beat a drum over and over again, that being said, Trey Johnson hasn't signed with any team yet, he'd be a solid fifth guard. That's the last I'll speak about Johnson.

I too hate on Fishers game sometimes, ok all the time.
But the man leaves me no choice.

That's funny because I see it the other way around. For all the great things he has done to contribute to the Lakers' success, I have no choice other than to give him the benefit of the doubt and thank him and let him have his shot at #6. Is there something about championships that you don't like? Oh well, if you prefer meaningless regular season games like yesterday, that's your prerogative. If you see nothing good about Derek Fisher, that means you probably never have and that you simply don't "get it" when it comes to him. You know what he says to people like you who choose to relentlessly bash him? "Thank you. Thank you very much." (at 1:38 in the link)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoN8Ed0VbTo

Man, I love to live in the present! Savor the bling, baybeee! No one's taken it from us yet!!

I'm proud to be 1 of the 27. Extremely proud.

@Mamba - excellent selection as usual. Hard to believe that song came out 31 years ago.

congrats on your Bears...Lovie got them one step away from getting back to the SuperBowl. It's going to be tough cause the Packers are playing great and Rodgers is the real deal.

@MVP - I agree the Lakers will handle their biz tonight. Enjoy the game. What's your record at Laker games this season?

@G. Money - haven't been a Laker fan for so long, you of all people should know better than to EVER go against the P&G.

@Magia32 - Yes, you are on Fish game ALL the time...lol. So what do you recommend Phil do? Blake isn't shooting the ball any better and the Lakers need Shannon's firepower off the bench.

LRob

I'm bad luck. Only 2-2. Wins over the Bulls and Knicks, both great games. That crazy loss to Phoenix when they hit those 22 three's, which doesn't surprise me because I was also at that 126-113 loss to Denver last season when Billups hit 9 threes and the Game 2 Ray Allen 8 threes game. The other loss was that embarrassing loss to the Grizzlies, which I left after 3 quarters, but my buddy and I had a lot of laughs at the Lakers expense anyway.

@MVP - Well today you're go to 3-2. And thank you...thank you...thank you for posting that sweet DFish video. It's always good to get a reminder like that during the dog days of winter.

@Mamba - Thanks for posting that "I'm on this train until the train comes off the tracks and the only tracks that count are the playoffs" bandwagon.

Old Hippy - That's just playful fun. I think there's a clear difference between that and verbally attacking someone

It's time for Phil to speak out on the lack of respect Drew is getting from the refs! I'm specifically talking about on offense. More often than not recently when I see a replay of Drew getting his shot blocked or the ball stripped, guys are getting all arm & wrist and its not even close.

Old Hippy,

Take a chill pill, pal.

Man, it's crazy how easily some people get offended by people with a sense of humor. Lighten up.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

Jon K,

Last night I was being ironic when I told you to "stop thinking you run this blog!", illustrating absurdity by being absurd. The ridiculousness of telling someone what to think was self-evident, which is why I didn't include an "LOL" or a ";-)". It was a stab at PC, not at you, referencing a previous poster who made the incredible claim that you thought you ran the blog.

Peace to you fellow Lakerholic. -Laker Kev

KobeMVP888,

If you stay out in a lake fishing long enough you're bound to catch something. Fisher plays 30 plus minutes a game, hes bound to hit a shot sooner or later (what you call clutch). Fisher should thank Kobe and Phil, not us.
And as for the least important position on the team PG, if it's not that important
why not have Blake in there with starters more time? Whats the difference?
Blake was playing well early in the season when his minutes were about the same as Fishers.

LRob,

For the past 2 to 3 games I haven't bashed on Fisher on the live chat, but enough is enough. Somethings gotta give. Like Rick F. said, changes got to happen. Practice/regular season or not, doesn't matter. Change is good
Split the time between Fisher and Blake more evenly.

============

That's a good point.

However, if the Lakers would quit complaining so much about fouls not being called or should have been called, as time went on I wonder if they would get more calls go their way.

Perhaps it wouldn't matter either way, but complaining doesn't help them much either. I know the complaining about calls or non calls is just part of the game, I just hate seeing it. Rather see them just keep their heads in the game and get back down the court.

As for the new rules this year about T-ing up any displays of emotion or complaints, man, that has been horribly inconsistent. The reffing of these games really needs to be addressed, not just for the Lakers, but league wide.
The league is making these games less fun to watch.

Magia

Maybe you should quit dwelling on minutiae. Try doing what I do and defer to Phil Jackson. If you do, there's reason to believe that you might be smiling again in mid-June.

LRob

My pleasure and thank YOU for keeping us current on Kobe's milestones. So let me get this straight. Kobe is only 9 regular season games away from Jordan, yet somehow he has shot significantly fewer free throws despite the similarities in their games. What does that tell you?

Troy,

I was impressed with your eloquent and logical apology last night, as well as your perseverance to your point.

Lovie got them one step away from getting back to the SuperBowl. It's going to be tough cause the Packers are playing great and Rodgers is the real deal.Posted by: LRob | January 17, 2011 at 09:50 AM

LRob, yep, Lovies doing it! He's not my favorite as coach, but I got to give it to the man, his team will run thru a brick wall for him. As for the SuperBowl they are going, no if's and or but's. Now if Pittsburgh goes to then I'll be in a dilema. Although the Bears are my hometown team, The Steelers are the team I root for so.......

The sky is not falling. The Clips have been playing great ball lately and once again, our t3eam didn't take this one seriously enough- sepecially in the fourth.

Drew needs to stop complaining on every single call that doesn't go his way. If he keeps this up, he will be labeled a complainer amongst all of the refs and be treated as such.

Imposter Pau showed up again.

No one could hit outside shots. Fish needs to know when he's not "on" and pass the ball!!!!!

Kobe had a great game, except for his terrible three point shooting.

Can I be part of the imfamous 27?

My first selection of the day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BsF9tQ0GTk

MM, You are doing a fantastic job with this blog. I really don't think whatever posting drop-off may be occurring has anything to do with the quality of your work. If some of the old-timers are anything like me, there is less a sense of urgency after having won two championships. I think on some level we feel like we're contributing toward solving the team's problems when we share our thoughts on this Laker team that we all (trolls excluded) love so much. We have all seen so much panic during the regular season, only to end up in yet another banner for the Purple & Gold. The mid-season drama starts to seem like an exercise in futility; hence, we post less.

GO LAKERS!

Jon K, Last night I was being ironic when I told you to "stop thinking you run this blog!", illustrating absurdity by being absurd. The ridiculousness of telling someone what to think was self-evident, which is why I didn't include an "LOL" or a ";-)". It was a stab at PC, not at you, referencing a previous poster who made the incredible claim that you thought you ran the blog. Peace to you fellow Lakerholic. -Laker Kev Posted by: Laker Kev | January 17, 2011 at 10:16 AM

WTH? Say what? Jon K doesn't run the Laker Blog? You mean all these years I was under a false illusion???? I'll be damn!!!! Jon K. you got some splaining to do!!! LOL!

Laker Kev,

Alright. My apologies. I should have picked up on that. I guess I just got caught up in being attacked.

I'll attempt to be more observant in the future.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

@MM
forgot to add this bit:
Since my short time here, 1.5 seasons, I have felt no need to even browse another blog, except when the personal bashing starts to get out of hand.

You are doing an EXCELLENT job with your detailed posts, interviews, and non-partisan officiating. Keep up the great work!

I don't care if some EORS think that this is just cheerleading because I know it's the TRUTH.

Jon K, no sweat brother, btw would love to see a bio-chrono on Barnes & Blake when you have the time.

(01) CORNER-J – OWNER - So here's the deal. We true Laker fans are sticking by this team and this coach...no matter what. Maybe their time is indeed over...but maybe it isn't. And you better pray that you're right. Because if our STILL WORLD CHAMPION LOS ANGELES LAKERS do get it together, there is going to be some serious payback happening...both in the playoffs, and on this blog. . I'm on board until the train comes off the tracks...and the only tracks that count are in the playoffs. Carry on, my friends.
(02) JOE CORAD – CO/OWNER - To all the Lakers fans and the Laker haters. until they lose 4 games in the playoffs in any series; The Lakers are the team to beat despite their record. Every other team just wants to catch up. So trolls do enjoy, because surely when the Lakers start winning you all disappear.
(03) PSYCHEDLAKERGIRL – DRIVER - This is not bad. It's a total bummer but as Justa says, we got this.Age is not playing into these defeats. Individuals make up a team but it's the team that falters together. Another month and things will be just fine. SAS has their big rodeo trip and things will change - in the NBA, they always do. Lakers are coming back with the New Year. Go away trolls, we are still integrating new players and one big guy.
(04) RICK FRIEDMAN – DIRECTOR - I'm betting that Phil has chosen to let his team fail enough times, so that they'll actually pay attention when he starts coaching. All these players who think they know it all because they have one or two rings, may finally be waking up this morning ready to listen. Good idea. As for the Kobe bashers, why wouldn't he think a game is on his shoulders when he looks at his team mates on the floor and sees a FAIL sign? No "players only" meeting is needed. No "by-the-book" inspirational speeches by Fish are welcome. Let's get to work, Lakers. If this edition of the team has Championship DNA, let's show it. The ASG will be here in a heartbeat. Which reminds me, a little "heart" would go a long way. Go Lakers!
(05) DICE8UP – CO/DRIVER - Why is fear all of a sudden becomes this blog? It is still December, and this things happens to a team.. especially a back to back champion team...Chillax people.. Go Lakers!!!!
(06) LANCE FROM DA’ BRONX – CO/OWNER - if everything, good or bad is an opportunity,i think that as lakerlovers, we need to act in good faith and give the boys the support and not abandon ship.this is not a matter of one or two players not doing what they have to, this is systemic.bad timing plays a role in this, but as i suggested yesterday, the team is at the bottom of the mountain like every other team
(07) LROB- RIDING SHOTGUN - Wow this is what its like in here when adversity hits. Yes, the Lakers were terrible AGAIN. Yes, if the playoffs started today they’d probably be looking at a first round exit. But there’s plenty of time to get back on track so excuse me if I don't abandon ship. All the Lakers fans that are throwing all the players and coach under the bus, I have a few questions...If you screaming at Kobe today, where you screaming last year when he hit all those game winners? or in the playoffs when he iced Phoenix in gm 6? Or when he scored his other 25,000+ points? If you’ve been dogging Pau lately, where were you when he outplayed KG in the finals last year? Or when he shot 61% and avg 3 blks in the Utah series? If you’ve been ripping on Ron, where were you when he played like a superstar in gm 7 last year? Or when he held Durant to sub 35% shooting. If you’ve been salty on Fish, where were you when he gave Orlando the knockout blow in 09 or owned the 4th quarter in gm3 vs. the C's last year. If you want Phil out, what about the 5 titles he brought? Yes, the team is floundering, but after 3 straight final appearances and back to back championships I would think the Lakers have earned enough goodwill for us to stick with them doing this rough patch.
(08) EDWIN GUECO RIDING SHOTGUN2 - after 40 years following the lakers, i'm not ready to say quits bu6 just hope that talent will come tomorrow or the next game. no need to say any further criticisms because the game speaks for itself. it is not worth to say anything when u witness that all chips are down. just watch and pray that the jinx will be soon be broken. that's my position myclyne as a grieving fan. i just believe what Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said: "The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide."
(09) HOBBIYMAGE – SECURITY - Maybe now, my words of caution make a bit more sense to you &
others. Maybe not. In any case, I'm still rollin' with the Lakers.
(10) PHRED – LOVE DISPENSER - A couple of things to cling to for anybody looking for a silver lining; This is good for us as a blog, I think. Like (not nearly as bad) the bad old days of 96 and 97, it separates the wheat from the chaff on the blog and we know who is really going to go to the wall in support of the team. Doesn't mean either glass half full, glass half empty, or glass totally empty and broken on the floor, just people who want the Lakers to win. I do know there are some very solid bloggers who have been part of the soul of this blog who aren't posting here much anymore, and some of them have been driven off by some of the relentless negative posting by some people that verges on the troll like. I do know that these people will not completely abandon the blog in its hour of need. The other good thing to remember is that I am convinced that we aren't really this bad. It's just not possible for the team that won the Finals two years in a row to be bad enough to lose like this. This means to me that we are better than our record lately, and I think based on my experience watching this team that we are a lot better than how we have been playing lately. And even if we completely lose it and go off the edge and never even make it near the finals this year, there will still be one consolation; people will hopefully stop complaining when we only win by less than ten points. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE LOVE
(11) JUSTANOTHERMAMBAFAN - I hate losing. Hate it. That said, this team is a proven championship team and they WILL turn it around. And yes - before it's too late. It's only December for pete's sake. They have too much talent and pride in themselves to be satisfied with the way things are going and not do something about it. So - for all you bandwagonners and haters and trolls - enjoy your moment in the sun. Bask in it. Revel in delight at the problems MY team is currently facing. And yes - they're MY team - certainly not YOURS. Because if they were your team, you'd shut the hell up with the venom-spewing and negativity and get behind your team. But no - you choose to post drivel and call it honest criticism, or worse. Whatever. Like I said - have a good time now. Because soon enough MY team will meld, jell and otherwise come together in a steam-rolling, ass-kicking machine and prove you all the idiots WE, the true Laker fans on here, already know you to be.
(12) LAKERLASS
(13) MAMBA24
(14) TNTLAKERFAN – ARMORY SGT - There are problems, yes, but they are correctable. I would like to see us playing inside-out rather than outside-in. This could free up shooters, and increase the percentages from outside. As far as defensively, we really aren't that bad. It's our offense that needs improvement. I don't know what we are running, but it is not the triangle. do I think we can just improve with what we have? OF COURSE!
(15) JAY W. - I am confident that the Lakers can get back to the final despite all those lost. But only concern is that if the Lakers does not finish the season at the top three best record . It's going to be very tough for the Lakers to Win it all. Home course advantage make a huge different in the post season, and plus the Lakers is consider a veteran team which mean they are getting older everyday. For those of you Lakers hater , you can laugh all you want now, but the Lakers still make it to the final. Hahaha...Let's Go Lakers.
(16) DEAN GOLDY - The important thing to remeber with this slump is that the Lakers know how to win and once they get back in the groove that will begin to happen again, every night.
(17) Mitch – Trolls - I sympathize with you. It must be very difficult for you to go through life being not only ignorant, but obnoxious as well. Take solace in the fact that there are many therapies out there that you might benefit from including lobotomy. ( My guess is that lobotomy is probably your best chance for success ) Do everyone a favor, put down the crack pipe and seek help. Now would be a good time.
(18) PURPLE HEART - This adversity is only going to make the Lakers stronger. No worries, Lakes WILL turn this around and I guarantee by mid April they will be hitting Championship stride.
(19) LONGTIMELAKERLOVER - I love my team and I always will. I think they'll turn it around. I hope they will. I'm bleeding that purple and gold.
(20) LAKERTOM - All the calls from the once in a blue moon fair weather fans who would fire Phil, curse Kobe, trade Ron, cut Fish, and bench Pau need to chill and stand up and support their team rather than jumping off the bus like rats abandoning ship. Stated simply, the Lakers are still struggling with injuries and the competition has improved. The silver lining to last night’s loss in my opinion was the continually improving play of Drew, although I do admit to screaming at him after he missed those four free-throws. You could see an immediate improvement in our interior defense and post offense with Drew in the game. ...You also have to give credit to the Spurs defense on Kobe. I have never seen him stripped of the ball so many times and there were several times when he drove and was pushed out of bounds without any call from the zebras, who seem to be responding very negatively to Kobe’s rage. On the other hand, I hate it when Kobe refuses to take an easy open shot and instead prefers to dribble and back his defender down only to take a highly contested low percentage fade-away shot. Kobe needs to stay within the triangle and work without the ball to get open rather than just calling for the ball over and over in heavy traffic. We need to get back to efficiently running the Triangle Offense rather than playing isolation ball. And Kobe needs to rein in his rage. As you aptly pointed out, there is still a lot of time for the Lakers to right the ship. The season is a marathon and not a sprint. Drew’s continued progress and increased time on the court will enable us to return to playing Lakers high percentage inside-out basketball on offense and to sealing off the paint and putting an end to the easy layups and dunks that have been killing us.
(21) WALLACE - We're like Clint Eastwood's movie, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!" This team has all the components! We're good in the beginning, bad a few weeks after 8-0 run and it's now reach the "Ugly" stage. We will be good again, I hope! Just like in the movie where the good guys ended up with the bags of gold! With some changes in pesonel, we will turn it around before the playoff. I love DFish, but he's more of the liability nowadays on both ends. Hey, I'd rather had this bad run now than in the playoff!!! This team need a big jolt to get out of their doldrums!!! It's the worst I've seen before Gasol's trade. I don't buy Pau's argument that we need to throw the ball more inside (To him or Andrew). Pau is playing weak himself in the last few games. He's playing very little defense and wasted good passes Kobe fed him in the middle. I think Kobe is mad at Pau for not being a man in the middle and not defending the paint like he should. Too many uncontested layups yesterday. Bynum gave us more effort last night offensively and defensively!!! Kobe did his best but his shots were not falling yesterday and the refs were hard on him all night last night. In Kobe, I Trust!
(22) VMAN - Never gone on an opposing team's site and vented years of fan frustration and I'm assuming anyone that would needs to take a much needed break on a shrink's couch to suss out the sad life that brings him to such a ledge.Juvenile derision aside, yes, these Lakers will be competitive when it counts. Getting out of the West will be the hardest task yet on the road to 3 championships in a row. Good for the game, good for the fans. I'm certain of one thing, none of the opposing players or coaches are counting them out
(23) DKWSFO - This is a mental thing and a strategy thing, not a talent thing.
(24) NEWMEXICOLL - Really think we have to move the ball around more!! Too much dribbling around. Tonite we will get back on track, keep the faith!!!
(25) YELLOWFEVER – OK I i think i'm done venting for today... believe it or not i still think they eventually get it together.. I STILL BELIEVE!?!?
(26) THE TRIANGULATOR - I may believe that aliens have stolen our BB skills, but I do know it'll all be back before the playoffs. How many wins did the Lakers have on their road to the three-peat in 2002? It's not about the regular season and home court advantage, while nice, isn't a necessity. A healthy team is a necessity. With that said, I would shakeup the lineup a few games to spice things up. At the worst, it would make a few more losses bearable. At its best, it could energize the team. Trolls, we banish thee back under the 3rd Street Bridge whence yee came from!!!
(27) CARTER - Sean Elliot and all the NBA are getting their licks in after 3 years of dominance by the Lakers, But that's OK, that's their right, they better get them in now, because if they get this ship together, my lakers ain't gonna have no mercy on any of them.
(28) ZEN(THE ORIGINAL) - The Lakers always play bad this time of year..Im not worried...yet
(29) LAKERJ - I know the Lakers have received their wake up call. There is no way they are taking these losses in stride. Champions respond to adversity and show resiliency when it's needed most. Here come the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. Watch out!
(30) BRONXLAKERFAN - I've heard some great rebuttal from Justa, Corner J and others. Many thanx to Mamba24 and others, who, while expressing their displeasure about the team's recent play, never lose sight of the big picture. I side with those folks. I'm a diehard Laker fan and I will be for the duration.
(31) CYBERCOSMIX - We have to keep in mind that it is the holidays, a time when the Lakers traditionally have taken off (well, they show up to games, playing well is another matter...). This is a team that has worked it out in the past. There is a precedence of them pulling themselves out of their tailspins, no matter that us Laker fans see three-game losing streaks as the end of the world. Well said on Kobe though, I know I can definitely take a few 'off' games to his usual brilliance he plays with on most nights...AS ALWAYS - AND FOREVER - GO LAKERS!!!!!
(32) ZACH FROM SAN DIEGO - first of all, GO LAKERS... ..but really is this not just a dramatic twist to spice up the season for Phil Jackson's last year. It would be boring if we won 65 games and cruised to another title, am I right or am I right? Or am i wrong? Hell this season started like a gem and progressively has made me lose more and more hair the past month. This isn't the end of the world no, but there are a lot of issues to be addressed. I don't know I just can't wait to after the All Star break. Something tells me things will FINALLY start to "matter" to this team come February-March. It's sad to say, but it's hard to be mentally prepared and in-gear for these games. Title defense motivation comes during the playoffs. The other contenders are showing us they are ready to take our crown. Bottom line it all comes down to April/May/June baby. GO LAKERS!!! HATERS ARE GONNA HATE
(33) I BLEED PURPLE AND GOLD - Really excited about the return of Bynum!! but really upset about the lost last night. Shannon Brown (mr. most improve player of the year) started off hot out the gates and now he cant find the bottom of the net. And Matt Barnes (mr. perfect game) cant find his shot either. Blake has been struggeling all year with his shot, despite a few games. It seems like the killer bees have lost their sting!!! Hopefoly we can borrow the Hornets sting tonight!!!
(34) ART-FL LAKERS FAN - Let's see, Miami, Dallas, Spurs, Celts all have run off nice win streaks to pad their record. All the Lakers need to do is get a hot streak going and reel off 10 in a row or go 13-2 or something like that and they will be right back in the thick of best record. While it always seems darkest before the dawn, they certainly have the potential to pull that off.
(35) JQ - Kobe needs to lead. Simple as that. Be the leader he has been. He needs to remember last year's Game 7. Someone replay that as well as his very humble press conference. Be patient Lakernation. It'll take time, but we'll get there.
(36) LEWSTRS - Yes, I have concerns...but still have faith in my team...We have 51 games left in the season...plenty of time to get back to Lakerball... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcnqzi1a0yo
(37) D(EREK) J(ETER) - I'm not giving up though! The thing being a Laker and Yankee fan is that we expect to win it all every year. It's actually difficult to win one, let alone several. Ask Stockton, Barkley, Ewing, and Malone. I'm not giving up though!
(38) LONGTIMELAKERFAN - I'll repeat. BOTH of the Jordan led Bulls 3peat teams had similar records to what the Lakers have at this point in the season (21-10 once, 22-9 the other time). And NEITHER of those teams had HCA for the finals.
(39) FRMKT - I'll repeat. BOTH of the Jordan led Bulls 3peat teams had similar records to what the Lakers have at this point in the season (21-10 once, 22-9 the other time). And NEITHER of those teams had HCA for the finals. Posted by: LongTimeLakerFan | December 29, 2010 at 02:03 PM Yes and that's a wrap!
(40) MAGIC PHIL - Not saying HCA is NOT important, justa saying is NOT THAT important. If you deserve the ring, you must not rely on HCA.
(41) Kobeayashimarue - I had a feeling we would get stomped on last night...not really surpirsed as our team is just discombuberated right now. Lets see how things work out with AB & Pau in the starting lineup together & LO off the bench...we haven't seen that yet this year so I'm not panicing.........yet
(42) LAKESHOW310 - Food for thought.......Jackson's first threepeat in Chicago, the Bulls were 21-9. The next threepeat in Chicago the Bulls were????? Yep, you guessed it.....21-10. It's not how you start, it's how you finish. It's always tougher to threepeat. Keep the faith, and get away from the ledge. They will right the ship. Trust me.
(43) LAKERPEACE - A good news is Bynum is starting to catch up. Once he becomes the starter and Gasol playing at PF, and Odom coming out of the bench gelling with the Killer B's, the Lakers will be just fine. "Before success comes in any man's life he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps, some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do." -Napoleon Hill-
(44) OCLEZY - all they have to do is win tonight which i believe they will. And looking at the schedule they their toughes challenge will come mid jan when okc comes to town. Which if we win that can keep us going giong into a few tough games coming up with dal,Deen, and utAh. So just win baby. Go lakers!
(45) JWILLIAM - A little early for everyone to go crazy over a few losses. Maybe the Lakers need to lose some to remember how nice it is to win. I would rather lose now than at the end of the season. Would be nice to have a 10+ game win streak going into the playoffs. Just sayin is all.
(46) ISSANG - sometimes we expect to win every game; but there is no fun in winning all games in the regular season. we tend to forget that almost half of the team are newbies.i have faith in the LAKERS. i will continue to believe until my last breath.

Laker Kev,

Thanks.

Laker Kev,

" btw would love to see a bio-chrono on Barnes & Blake when you have the time."

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I've been slacking.

It's too indepth to write at work and I work nights building a business and weekends on getting funding for my business. It's been hard to find the time, but that's not a valid excuse all the same.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!!

Trey Johnson hasn't signed with any team yet, he'd be a solid fifth guard. That's the last I'll speak about Johnson.

Posted by: sean | January 17, 2011 at 09:46 AM

Dude...That would be a nice pick-up.

"My pleasure and thank YOU for keeping us current on Kobe's milestones. So let me get this straight. Kobe is only 9 regular season games away from Jordan, yet somehow he has shot significantly fewer free throws despite the similarities in their games. What does that tell you?

Posted by: KobeMVP888 | January 17, 2011 at 10:25 AM "

Kobe has shot about 2,000 more 3 pointers in his career than Jordan did and also had a few years as a 6th man as well as playing several years as a 2nd option. While their games may have similarities, these are huge differences.

They both led the league in free throw attempts only once in their career. When you factor everything into it, I think it's difficult to say one really got more generosity at the free throw line than the other.

the lakers will not even make it past the first round of the playoffs, Gasol is too week at power forward, bench him and start Lamar. bench fisher and start blake, then fine anyone that takes a 3 point shot and misses, this is the weekest lakers team that I have seen since 1967, the first year I started watching them play.
