Snoop Dogg predicts the Lakers will three-peat in 'Purp & Yellow'

Laker fans wondering which song to add to their iPod playlist need to look no further than "Purp & Yellow" featuring The Game, Snoop Dogg and YG (kudos to Diandra for passing this along on the previous thread).

I can't link to the song because it has profanity, but like Phil Jackson does with his players, I'll let you figure out how to find it on your own. I can, however, provide lyrics to Snoop Dogg's verse about the Lakers:

Swish! 24, thats black mamba

Snoop Dogg, he’s a dope rhymer

collaborate, with the golden state

in a yellow six deuce with the purple plates

I dip and dodge, I hit 3 and roll

fish and chips, bounce pass down to Pau Gasol

we dont give a damn bout the big 3

LA Lake show we bout to 3 peat

and you can bet, thats on the set

Ron Artest about to get wet

Im on the flo’ and thats a fact

sittin’ next to uncle Jack....

I can't finish the lyric because it involves one of Snoop Dogg's favorite past times. Oh well.  Assuming Snoop's prediction rings true, something tells me he and Ron Artest need to record a Lakers' championship song together. After all, Artest received some help from Dr. Dre on his single, Champion. Better yet, Snoop Dogg and Artest each could perform a battle rap with Bow Wow, who predicted this summer that the Miami Heat would beat the Lakers on Christmas Day.

#5. Yeah, not so sure about the statue for Shaq - maybe they should name a sandwich after him at the Lexus Club on Suite Level A at Staples...

#4. Since the big traitor claims the best team he's ever played on are the Celtics, let them give him a statue. The Laker organization appreciate Shaq's contribution to the 3 peat, he's burned to many bridges. Nevvver, Everrr will this Big CLOWN stand outside Staple. Now let's move on, to much time has been givin to this immature Retard.

#3. SHOCKED AND SURPRISED TO SEE NO POST FROM Bynum's one and only staunch supporter....
I am sure someone is feverishly working on a long post on Bynum's return and what he means to this team....a glowing report on Bynum's merit.....tik tok tik tok.

#2. ----Hopefully Bynum can get through the season without anymore vaginal tears, let us pray.

#1. A Keen observation from above:
'sad what's happened here, this blog has become a caricature of itself'.

So true. It's like going to a church social, where everyone shows up wearing their little hats and giggles over whose turn it is to bring the crispy cremes.
It's a coffee klatch with no nads. Then again, it is an L.A. no surprise there. But where is a good Mr. Tienente when you need one?

It's all about the mushy love

#5. 63-footer, add mine to the chorus of nods. Always great to read your comments, insightful and in good humor. Also have to give a nod to MM - you're continuing to cover the team six ways to sunday and exceedingly well at that. The Times is indeed fortunate for your service.

#4. Mark: You mean taking a few hours off? My goodness, this is probably the first time you've done so this season!
If ANYONE deserves a break at The Times, that would be you my man! We just don't say it often enough, but GREAT JOB & THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!

#3. @63 FOOTER… Congrats on the Friedman. If I could have put money down on the Friedman futures. my only problem would have been which of several comments posted by you yesterday to award. Submit your profile and tell us who you are because we’d all like to say yeah, we’ve known him ever since he took his talents to the LA Times Lakers Blog. Make Pine Cone and Marshmallow proud.

You missed the part about them dissing Lebron :P. I think the beginning of the song is the best, the rest is a lot of profanity and such. Hope everyone likes it! :)

MM - "I can't finish the lyric because it involves one of Snoop Dogg's favorite past times."

Eating pasta?
Getting root canal?
Having a foot massage?
Taking his car into AAMCO?
Reading this blog?

What could possible be Snoop's favorite past-times?

Troll Man - I'll have to admit that is some funny stuff. But come on. The comments are genuine

I've worked on dozens of Rap videos and the ONLY rapper who I could say came across as an actually cool human being was Snoop-Dogg.

He's a Lakers fan, after all.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

@MM & Diandra - That's a good look.

The original is called, "Black and Yellow" by Wiz Kahlifa. He's from Pittsburgh and made it as a salute to his hometown Steelers. I know he's also on one of the remix versions with Snoop and the Game.

Here's another take on "Purple and Yellow"...different artist but with clean lyrics...and more bball focused!

Good Morning Laker Nation,

Ready for game day. I'm looking forward to a consistent effort from the Lakers and to watching John Wall do his thing.

I'm in a jazzy flow this morning and since the holiday season is upon us how bout a little Trane doing his version of My Favorite Things...

"From the desert, to the sea, to all of Southern California"...
Good morning girls!

Here's a little tune (video) sung by, no, Larry, is that you?,
and featuring Faith, Edwin, Mark (the song's namesake),
and almost the entire Laker cast (the owl, hmm, that's gotta be Tom).
The girls look so cute in their little tu-tu's.
At the end, we get to see Jon K and Justa.
Bringing up the rear in the group, of course, is Kobe.
They are all so happy, but watch your back Justa.

Sing it for Andrew...he may be needing surgery again by March
and will, no doubt, appreciate your undying support.
(Some may naturally sing louder than's OK)

At least until the Playoffs, the league has done all it can do to grease your way to another championship. Enjoy these moments...the road's gonna get bumpy.
Bank on it.

Just remember to be kind to each other as it all unravels.
Just think: Zip-a-dee-do-da...My oh my...because it's all about the love.

Go Kings!
Go Niners!
Go Ducks! (Thank God they couldn't find an excuse, finally,
to insert one of those choker SoCal schools in the mix this year).
Go Manny, Go!

Thinking about the Knicks this morning:

Seven straight road wins is impressive even if the competition hasn't been that great.

Their home record is just 4-5 and road record is 9-4. Is the pressure of playing at home too much for them?

If Amare continues at his clip of 25pts/9reb will he get more credit for his role in the Suns success...where it seems like Nash got the lion share of the props.

For those extolling the greatness of Larry Brown's coaching when knocking Phil Jackson....consider Raymond Felton. Under Larry's strict eye in Charlotte he avg 12pts/6asst last year. Now he's putting up 18/8 in D'Antoni's system. Larry's Brown coaching acumen took a hit in my book when he only managed the bronze medal despite having the greatest players in the world in 2006 (I believe that was the year).

Is that Mike Epps next to Snoop in the photo above?

Happy birthday, baybeeeee!!

Is that Woody Harrelson to Snoops left?

The honey standing next to the dude in the Laker shirt
wearing his ball cap like a juvenile...
Well, I can only guess who that might be.

Go Kings!
Go Oregon Ducks! (By far, the superior team in the Pac 50)

Happy Birthday Laker Tom...When I first browsed this blog, you made an immediate impact...and that's before I knew we shared the same

So a Happy Tora Tora Tora to you...have a wonderful day with your family...There is also another member whose BDay it is today...sorry I couldn't find your old post...but have a great day too...

Hopefully we get a birthday present of Andrew playing in this coming road trip...

I'm officially checking in for game day Roll Call...

Lakers Dynasty - The Next Generation...

#17 Coming Up!!!

This is what I'm feeling today...

Questions is, do I feel this way because I'm thinking of my next year of my life...

Or am I thinking about my Lakers...and what is in store for us the rest of the season...

Either is fitting...
Change: we have change coming....
Patience: be patient, have faith in what your are doing...
Fear: Beware everyone out there, when it all falls into place, we have to be Feared...

Lakers Dynasty - The Next Generation...

#17 Coming Up!!!

63 Footer - Reading this blog of course!

snoop doggy shows maturity in predicting 3 peat!

hahaha. just joke take on today's article titles.

MM- When you find yourself quoting Snoop Dog lyric, PUT THE PIPE DOWN at once.

Justa Hater - If it involves the Lakers, it will be up here

The first comment was written by a douchebag, obviously. Shaq's "contribution" to the 3peat? You mean how he was at least 75% SOLEY responsible for each of the 3 titles? Of course the guy deserves a statue and to have his jersey retired at staples. How is that even a question in any real, longtime Laker fans' mind?

What kind of garbage is this?

The TRUE Laker colors are Purple(forum blue) and GOLD!!!

GOLD you morons not Yellow!!!

Now we got a city full of sheep who keep chanting over the fact that Snoop (a long suspected FAKE Laker fan) Game and YG have no clue as to what the Laker colors are.

The last line to this song said by Snoop Dogg is "Blazing up the purple sack"

Hahaha, good old Snoop Doggy Dogg blazing.

The lyrics are great, but what I really like is the Serious Pimp sunglasses he's rockin
