Lakers satisfied with Thursday's practice as it gears up for Miami
Normally the Lakers practice no longer than an 75 minutes, knowing that rest for a veteran laden bodes more importance than ironing out chemistry.
Still, the Lakers had the day off Wednesday following an embarrassing loss Tuesday to Milwaukee and acknowledged the lack of the practice time during their six-game trip hurt their effectiveness. So the Lakers spent about two hours practicing Thursday, with Coach Phil Jackson saying it mostly emphasized on running drills and practice simulations.
The results turned out to be in Pau Gasol's eyes "one of the best practices we had all year," a positive sign as the Lakers prepare for their Christmas Day game against Miami. In fact it was one of the rare practices that featured everyone with exception to Theo Ratliff practicing together in full-court drills.
"Hopefully we'll start learning how to play together," said Jackson.
