I had some issues with my camera's battery last night. Hence why I have audio interviews instead of video. But it's getting fixed today

We could have used those 16 points Sasha scored last night for New Jersey, but oh wait, we like those shiny dunks and occasional threes by Shannon Brown, who also doesn't play any defense.

The Lakers are gonna regret not having a three point shooter (and just a plain ol' shooter) on the roster, especially when the offense bogs down, like it did last night. Ah well... don't say I didn't tell you so...

All we need now are wins over the Heat, Spurs and NO and off we go.
Losses to those 3 and, well, off we go.

so the question is ,are the lakers going to LEARN from this, and what are they going to learn? we will see down the road if they do,but now there is a game on sat., i believe where they need to focus.these experiences are required for the team to grow and learn, in this case what not to do. but as that sage, ron-ron said ; it has happened in the past and it will happen in the future. so please we're at the 6 mile stage

From Rotoworld:

"Dwight Howard has his "eye on the Lakers" if the Magic don't win a title in the next two years, sources tell ESPN's Ric Bucher.
Howard's contract is up after the 2011/12 season. The Magic are doing everything they can to appease him in the meantime, but apparently a title is high on the big man's wish list. "

- Dwight with Kobe and Gasol equals another dynasty.
- The Lakers have a proud history of great centers. Dwight belongs in purple and gold.
- Dwight gets unfairly criticized for his supposed lack of offensive moves. He needs a closer who can mask his liabilities and take some pressure away from him in the fourth. If Dwight had Kobe as a teammate, NOBODY would be criticizing Dwight's limited offensive arsenal. As Kobe did with Shaq, he would mask many of Dwight's weaknesses. Dwight would be the perfect free agent as Kobe and Gasol transition into their twilight years.

Sorry about the repost but I really would like to know...
Can anyone explain how the Lakers let a midget beat them? WTF? Why doesn't whoever is being guarded by 5'5" (in heals) Earl just take him to a spot on the court where they have a high percentage shot and just turn around and shoot over him. Bucks could double but that leaves someone open right? Make them pay for playing a guy to short for a high school team. My wife could post him up. Sometime I wonder about Phil.

MM, It was apparent to me that your statement was an observation, and a correct one. Few things gall me more than when athletes say things like "I have to be more aggressive" or "I'm not at all satisfied with how I played tonight." Last night was largely a team loss, hence my team DNA reference. If these Lakers for one second allow themselves to think a 3-peat is an automatic, or even getting to the Finals is an automatic, they are dreaming. There are many elite NBA teams capable of winning a seven game series.

Finally, someone from the inner circle who thinks there is something wrong with our Lakers.

I can’t decide whether or not this humiliating loss is actually going to help or hurt the Lakers as they now have to square up in preparation for a very tough stretch against some elite competition between now and the All-Star break, starting with the Heat on Christmas Day.

It’s soul-searching time for the Lakers, and now is the time to look deep within themselves in an effort to try and figure out their identity. Right now, I see a championship caliber team that couldn’t care less about acting like one night in and night out. And, given the competition out there, especially at the elite level, this MO does not necessarily bode well for L.A.

Hold On,

I'm curious. Did I hear someone talk about a regular season game as if it
mattered?

Wasn't that Bynum's 3rd game back?

I'm just trying to make sure I understand the practice situation we find
ourselves in ...

calm down everyone. The Lakers are tired from the trip and if a bit lazy, wanting to rest up for Miami. Have some egg nog and chill out.

hobbitmage,

Is someone pretending to be you?

this team is so uninterested a very sorry for a team that is all that this is so weak..... an as a black man who played ball none should get paid for last nights game. An what the f is funny during the interview artest you can not even stop a 5 foot five player. you are a joke......

This game is beautiful, so simple, that in the connective tissue of analysis, it gets oversimpflied. Milwaukee executed, the Lakers didn't. That being said, Milwaukee knows it's not going to the Finals, as far as symbolic victories go, this is their coup for the year.

In perspective, effort was lacking, shouldn't be a surprise. Can anyone honestly say they give a 100% percent effort at work. No. It's human instinct to get complacent, fatigued, even bored. The fact that this is a game, gets over analyzed to death, as fans we have the vices to scold or revel in the game, that's where are mark is met. The players play, we watch.

The Lakers won championships in '01 and '02 as the 2nd and 3rd seeds respectively. To ask this team to finish with the West's best record for 4! straight years is a gruelling, some what fractured expectation. They had the West best record 3 straight years, not too shabby. With the veterans on this team, lulls will happen. At the end of the day, I also don't see a reason why they can't win a huge game in May or June because their in Dallas or San Antonio.

Someone wiser once said 'Rationalizations are better than sex', this might sound like ramblings or rationalizations, I'll I see is a team that's been around the block once or twice to know that arbitrary signs like a team badly losing in December or being the 2nd seed is not a hindrance, just a blip.

Good Morning Hobbitmage!

I thought that the game last night was rather strange. I don't know how to put things really, except that they seemed disinterested.

I thought that it was a bit of an oddity...but hope that it is not a trend for the future.

Morning Mamba24.................. Loved your Ode to The Tao of Lakerholism...A lot of things go into a loss. I know for sure these young men didn't go out there and say tonite we are going to lose!!! They were on the road for 10 days, they get home and the kids want attention, the wife has had it with doing all the Christmas stuff herself AND they have to do their own Xmas shopping. Being on the road, they are a team, without having to think about family like the Bucks did last nite, and the team get's home and are thrown into it. As the Lakers have proved to us sooo many times, the real Season starts in JUNE. We play the Spurs, and the Mav's 4 times, plenty of time to catch up!! The team is human, just like us, they get jet lag and don't you know they just want to go home and chill and can't cause they have families that are pulling at them too. This may sound wishy washy but this is coming from a Grandma. Give them an occasional break!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Ladies and Gents, Losing sucks. I read all the comments and about 90% sounds like you want to jump out the bandwagon of the 2 time champs. I remember going into the playoffs last season and everyone counted us out, I know that was last year.

But this team is just missing something in its stomach, like FIRE, PASSION and the well to win at all cost.
I believe once DREW is back starting and the bench rotation is set will see a different team.

I’m a little concern about Fish and Ron Ron, they both are a step slower then last season. Fish was a two-steps behind every PG last year, I also believe that Ron Ron "D" is not that great and he'll be exposed on X-Mas .
C'mon Lakers Bandwagoners this team will be OK, win or loose Christmas, their to talented not too.

Mamba24, it's time to rally the REAL FANS, all bandwagoneers step aside we need some elbowroom. If you don't want be here, get your @zz off the BUS, nobody said it was going to be EASY.

AMEN!!! So there you are. I was beginning to think you had deserted us. How have you been? You have been missed you know? On another sports topic...I'm sorry the Bears treated Brett so roughly, the ruffians! Oh and by the way your Post, yes I have to say it...OUT FREAKIN STANDING MA'AM!!!!! Carry On!

Did you notice the Bucks defensive intensity vs the Lakers one. The Bucks were playing as if every possesion mattered, while the Lakers were thinking "no big deal, this is the Bucks with Earl Boykins, we got it." Defense was the difference in the game, the Bucks took the Lakers out of their offense by keeping the pressure throughout the contest.

ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know Platitudes I made that very observation to my Blog bud and BFF this morning. I think I am a Laker fan but yes, Yes you could very well be right! Now what?

But this team is just missing something in its stomach, like FIRE, PASSION and the well to win at all cost.

Ask hobbitmage.
Maybe the TEAM lost the chi or qi.
Pau Gasol is the MVP and the new Leader of the TEAM. LOL

Is it a REFLEXION of his play? (Another "quiet" double-double …).

OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR.
Not only are the Lakers now 4 games behind first place in the West, they’re only a game away from sixth. They’re certainly doing their best to secure road-court (dis)advantage in the playoffs.

MM, Rick .F, mamba24 or anyone,

Can I get your guys take on the 5 in 5 out substitution Phil made in the first half last night.
To me that was a very lazy move by Phil. Required no thinking.

Rick F and Jefe101 are vocalizing what I have been massively suppressing. Call it my rose colored rain goggles. On the flip side, I keep saying to myself, this is a marathon and we are all in it for the long haul.

2004, loads of talent and all-stars - skating. At what point do the new guys stand up and say we aren't going to take this anymore? Are they going to have enough *&^#@ to stand up to superstars and PJ?

All I want for Christmas? I am just going hope for a big serving of Lakers focused on team D.

Cheers - PLG

didn't know why the head coach didn't send in his newly acquired forward j smith and the rookies just to have playing time if they knew there will be a let down after road games. it would be a great time to watch those news lakers play for pay. gasol looks old, flopping and whinning all night, late getting back on defense, instead of facilitating bryant displays his razzle dazzle moves only to be stopped by different defenders. fisher, no comment, he need to be benched. if melo goes to dallas, God help lakers and their fans. lakers, don't stop till you reach the top.

What a terrible scrimmage last night. For those people who think that last night's loss meant anything, remember that the first game back after a long road trip is usually a tough game. You'll forget this loss in June. No, it didn't "matter." Basketball is an emotional sport. Lakers fans, in general, are so accustomed to excellence, that we get more emotional than we should after a loss like last night. We're still the team to beat. Relax.

Mamba24.... Congrat's to your Bears!!! Felt bad that the old gunslinger couldn't go out with a better showing, but it has to end sometime and he gave his all, unlike Tvaris who is sideline with a freakin turf toe. Unless we get a QB we'll have to wait another 10-20 years, and we also have quite a few old players.Hope you can get far into the playoffs!

(06) TAINO – SECURITY - I would think that most Laker fans will agree that the Lakers have at times driven them crazy over the last 3 years. but the truth does remain, Lakers rise to the occasion when it counts. And personally, again I think this team is better than the recent champion teams. So we wait and see signs of progress and then buy popcorn and Pepsi when the real season begins. See you then.
(07) RICKLAFAN – SEARGENT AT ARMS - In summary: Laker= 3-peat, and the Celtics = one-hit wonders on the decline.
(08) CALIPHILOSOPHER – GATE KEEPER - I completely understand your frustration, and to tell you the truth I was frustrated too for about 2 minutes. I try to take a step back (since I don't have the ability to directly change the fortunes of the team) and remind myself that sometimes you're the windshield, and sometimes you're the bug. On to Saturday then, yes?
(09) FORELIF3 - To the Trolls - wake us real fans up around playoff time...we all know the regular season means about as much as the number of rings LeBum has...ZERO...throw out all the stats you want...you think any ring-owning Laker knows how many sub .500 teams they've lost to in December?......live it , it'll only last until April, Trolls ...remember, "keep on loving lebron.. Kobe has his five rings.."

Allnet, there are still 50+ games left in the season. Plus, along with Boston, we have the best divisional record in the NBA. And in the past ten, we're 8-2. Given how hot Dallas and Spurs have played, they're 9-1 in the past ten. So, in the past 10 games we've only lost half a step.

In case you missed my previous post, or are a neophyte Laker Fan, neither would surprise me. The 01' and 02' squads were 2nd and 3rd seeds respectively. Then when the playoffs came around were gangbusters.

Mind you, that's not to say their is any connectivity to each squad, just that history has shown when the Lakers are in the top tier of Conference, it's arbitrary where they exactly finish. They win Titles.

I know there is freedom of expression.
But it'd be better if Fisher stops spinning losses and does his talking on the floor. If he can't play like a champion anymore, sit at the end of the bench and play cheerleader.
Whatever you're pushing on TV, it ain't working Fish.
I have faith in the cheerleaders on this blog, that their cheering will eventually lit a fire on the Lakers behinds and make them play like champions again, or will they?

what???

If they can't beat a lowly team like the Bucks without Jennings and Magette in their home floor, how can you expect the Lakers to beat the mighty Heat? It will be a repeat of what happened last Christmas, a humiliating defeat in the hands of Miami this time. What is the record of Lakers playing on Christmas day? 2 wins against 8 losses? I don't remember being in a good mood on Xmas day being a Laker fan.

laker fans don't let the nba fool you - this was obviously
a game meant for vegas to clean house - lakers probably got
a good payday for their phony show they put on - naughty!!!!

The only reason the Lakers lost by double digits against Milwaukee is because they had a 7-game road trip and they ended up strong which made them very exhausted. In my opinion, it was revealed that they played with no game plan to hide their tactics for their game on Christmas Day against the Miami Heat. It's still early days, we can still do a 3-peat!!
