2) pau isn't the problem, at least on offense. they aren't playing good team D, so that is about 1/5th his fault. actually, the only thing i'm worried about with Pau is if everybody starts going away from him in the second half. they need to keep dumping it in
3)Kobe is struggling in the post. Kobe isn't using the fadeaway. Ron is defending ok, fish/barnes/blake is not doing much of anything.
Ha Ha Ha, or should it be Oh, Oh, Oh I know you think your teams going to come back. It's half time and your team have not shown up, what's up whit that.
Hell they should loose by DEFUALT with those's UGLY @zz green shoes, as I said the Mamba is going to build a BRICK HOUSE. Second half he'll build the garage.

>>>Now start telling me why the game didn't matter.
Last year, Cleveland beat the Lakers by 15 on Christmas day. So what.
Two seasons ago, Orlando SWEPT the Lakers during the regular season. So what.
Individual regular season games (even if they occur on Christmas) don't win you championships.
Playing at your peak in December doesn't win you championships.
It's not that the games don't matter at all. It's just that the Lakers losing a game on Christmas has absolutely no bearing on the playoffs.
Think about it this way. Let's say this was a playoff game between the Lakers and Heat. If that were the case, then:
1. Kobe probably would have had breakfast with his family yesterday, then spent the rest of the day before the game working on specific moves and specific shots. Same with some of the other players. Maybe Brown & Fish would take 1000 3-pointers. Or Pau would work on his post moves and his jump shooting for 2 or 3 extra hours.
2. Every single guy would be in bed at a reasonable hour before the game, would be in early and get well warmed up for the game, shooting around and getting their head into the game.
3. They would have studied Miami's tendencies on both ends of the floor in a bit greater detail, and would have just slightly better instincts on rotations and such.
-----
But what was the real situation.
IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE. Kobe and the other Lakers probably spent most of the day with their families. Then after they went to bed, maybe wrapping some presents (okay, maybe they get hired help to wrap presents, but you get the idea). And this morning is Christmas morning. They get up, unwrap presents with the family.
Meanwhile, the Heat are on the road. They CAN'T spend Christmas eve with their families, so they probably DID put in the extra time in the gym. Same thing this morning. And what's more, the Heat are HUNGRY. Other than Wade (of the players that played today), they haven't won any rings. So they DESPERATELY want to show that they're better than the Lakers.
So the Heat come in all cranked up and finely tuned and playing with desperation, while the Lakers come in with visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads.
It should come as no surprise that the Heat won in that situation.
The last time the Lakers managed to win a Christmas day game, THEY had something to prove. They had gotten stomped by the Celtics in game 6 of the finals, so THEY came out just as fired up as the Celtics and beat them.
------
SO WHAT!!!!!
------
The thing is, the Lakers didn't put in as much effort as Miami today, it showed, and they got embarrassed. It has no bearing on whether or not the Lakers or the Heat will win the finals if either or both of them make it there.
THAT is why the game is not as significant as all the media hype wants to make it out to be.
-------
The Lakers took a week off mentally. They lost 8 straight quarters and 2 straight games. Kinda sucks for the people who bought tickets for those games. But they'll regroup, practice harder, get Bynum more integrated, get the offense flowing more smoothly again, and start cranking out the wins.
How these teams play in May and June matters a lot. How they play in December? not so much.
haha sounds like a poor excuse if you have the best team i would think you would have some kind of not want to lose mentality no matter what day/game it is they say kobe has it right the same as mj right? so keep your excuses please!!!
Shut up with your stupid excuses and go get some tacos! You dont think we watched the game? It was on National TV. We aint gonna believe your BS. Next you are gonna try and tell us that there really is a Santa Claus. Go tell your kids.
everybody knows kobe has had the best team his whole career now that lebron has a team now everybody wants to boo him and say thats cheap why hasnt it been cheap for kobe to been born into great teams his whole career
>>>and we kept reta..ds like Walton, Bynum, and Fisher.
hahahahahaha
You might not have noticed, but by the time Walton stepped on the floor, this game was already decided. And there were times where they could have used his passing more than Artest's attempts to bully LeBron (which didn't work in this case).
I thought Bynum actually played fairly well in limited minutes.
And Fisher outplayed Miami's starting PG, for what it's worth.
The biggest failures in this game were team defense, overall effort, and bad shooting by Pau and Kobe, especially in the first quarter. Bad shooting by the killer B's added to the cause.
Also, someone spoke of a "wasted Lamar game"? I don't agree with that. Lamar was decent offensively, but Bosh owned him regularly.
It's kind of a bummer, but so what. Again, they played a little soft on Christmas. Give them your support as a fan as a Christmas present. Then watch on Tuesday as they beat the team with the best record in the league.
well good thing your not an nba analyst you would have been fired just face it your star is getting old and is missing a step or two he looked sluggish on both sides of the ball when having to gaurd the nba new best 2 gaurd
If all the Lakers played so well, why did you get beat by the Meat? I know! Because Kobe want to stay home and play with the kids. He bought them new Legos and the kids wanted him to stay home. Now go get your tacos!
I like to read this blog because it gives me a good laugh. There are some fans who are eternal optimist and can see no wrong and think that the Lakers will 3 peat when it is said and done. Others who criticized the Lakers though fans are attacked. Listen I am a Laker fan since the days of the Captain and Magic. However, the Lakers are in deep trouble. It starts with our coach who sits in his high chair and seems so nonchalant or indifferent. While coaches like Rivers are using nuclear physics schematics to design plays on defense and offense, Phil just stares and hardly calls timeouts. I know I know he won 11 rings but the Lakers are playing with no emotion or passion. There is no spark from any player. What is even more disturbing is that the Lakers schedule thus far has been soft, actually sponge bob soft and we have struggled.
see i can really respect a fan like island he keeps it real i just was going in cause im happy with tonights performance as a heat fan but i could say i dont see yall getting back to the championship with how yall are playing the mavericks are a very good team with a big tough defensive team this year
Artest said that his strategy was to get LeBron mad because LeBron will bring his A game. Artest acts like 1) he can actually stop Lebron and 2) he Ron will score at least 15 points to offset the 30 points Lebron will drop on our heads. Ron Ron need to stop talking and start playing ball man. Pau is playing like Paula Gasol for real. lay some wood man when guards come into the paint. Kobe skills have eroded there is no doubt about that. He can no longer compete against the young studs like LeBron and DWade. Kobe need to use skill and savvy to get the edge. Plus he needs to become more of an inspirational leader to his team.
just wait til the lakers play boston garnett, big baby and
shaq is really going to beat down pau because he is a big sissy, and jackson is half dead sitting there on the bench
the whole game.he said he plays fish because he know the triangle, well if he dont have the skills any longer it dont
mean shi;;.t.
once the lakers bring in a quality coach from the outside
you will see a better playing team, because phil sucks he is
laid back and the team is not motivated or prepaired to play
anyother coach would be replaced.//???<

What I said about Walton, Bynum, and Fish was not about their this afternoon evaluation. I am talking in general we made a very big mistake, and we are not gonna repeat with this group of overrated players.
Period!
One mark of a good team is the ability to bounce back after an embarrassing loss. The Bucks beat down was called a trap game. Now after that the lakers laid another egg on Xmas Day to boot. Other teams would be p off and come with fires in their belly but not the Lakers. Like Magic asked, where is the pride man? Miami ran a clinic while the Lakers just watched helpless to stop it. On offense it was pitiful to watch.
Dont worry the Laker players wont be unwrapping gifts any more this year. So they will have time to go to the gym and prepare. Laker players have a lot of money so they buy lots of gifts for their kids and spend too much time wrapping and unwrapping them.
Remember when the Pistons beat down the Laker girls when they had GP and Malone? (Detroit!) They were supposed to be a lock for the title then but -hell no! They didn't really win the title last year-Boston gave up that game in the 4th Qtr.
Today's game was no suprise at all to me. Know why? Not just because the Laker girls are soft...but because the only one on that team with skills is Kobe!
When he's on the bench, the crowd (and team) looks scared and can't wait for him to return. On defense, if D.Wade and LeBron are coming down on a break, who can contest them-Fisher? Guess he can try to draw a charge but how smart is that when they both can jump right over his a##!
Dallas is better this year, Spurs are too. That's the major difference right there.
Laker girls just got exposed-flat out. But don't forget the Heat are former champs too. They know what it takes to win also.

Where did I EVER say the Lakers played well. They played hard for a few minutes in the 2nd and third quarters, but most of the game, they were out-hustled and out-played by the Heat.
If you are able to read and understand reasonable statements then you would understand what I said.
Miami played with playoff intensity. The Lakers did not.
For you Miami fans, don't count on the Lakers playing this soft in June.
The lakers are tired every game is a playoff game against the lakers in the heats mind they won the playoffs because they feel like if they were to meet the lakers in the playoffs they would just run over them.Phil has a bad habit of trying to make Gasol the leader which is bad because number two it puts to much pressure on Gasol and number one its Kobes team like it or not.Another thing is Phil does not coach He just lets his team get embarrased and hopes that they don't want to get embarressed again .Also he is trying to create division on the team by trying to make Gasol the leader when its Kobes team like it or not.The way the lakers shoot the ball you can tell that they never practice, its awful. And last of all get rid of Lamar is often out of position and acts as if he is a point guard whach next time and you will see how he helps us lose games.
Hey, FCM. My comments aren't going through, maybe?

trying this the old fashioned way.
1)pau gasol haters are morons
2) pau isn't the problem, at least on offense. they aren't playing good team D, so that is about 1/5th his fault. actually, the only thing i'm worried about with Pau is if everybody starts going away from him in the second half. they need to keep dumping it in

anyway, we need to keep pounding it inside to Pau. If Drew isn't going to play serious minutes, it's hard to draw any good conclusions from this.

Posted by: LongTimeLakerFan | December 25, 2010 at 06:18 PM
Wasn't it Heraclitus who said, "You can never step into the same river twice"?
The Lakers that play in June will not be the Lakers that played today.
The Heat that play in June will not be the Heat that played today.

I would love to have heard the exchange between LeBronze and Kobe near the end of the game. I imagine it to go something like this.
LeBron: You can't beat me Kobe. I kicked your ass this Christmas just like I kicked it last Christmas, punk. blah blah blah.
Kobe: Five Rings. `nuff said.
Posted by: LongTimeLakerFan | December 25, 2010 at 06:24 PM
haha sounds like a poor excuse if you have the best team i would think you would have some kind of not want to lose mentality no matter what day/game it is they say kobe has it right the same as mj right? so keep your excuses please!!!
Posted by: mr. maimi | December 25, 2010 at 06:25 PM
Long,
Shut up with your stupid excuses and go get some tacos! You dont think we watched the game? It was on National TV. We aint gonna believe your BS. Next you are gonna try and tell us that there really is a Santa Claus. Go tell your kids.
You are a fool!!!

everybody knows kobe has had the best team his whole career now that lebron has a team now everybody wants to boo him and say thats cheap why hasnt it been cheap for kobe to been born into great teams his whole career
Posted by: mr. miami | December 25, 2010 at 06:33 PM
>>>and we kept reta..ds like Walton, Bynum, and Fisher.
hahahahahaha
Then watch on Tuesday as they beat the team with the best record in the league.
count on it.

And to counter troy...
MY prediction...
If fully healthy, the Lakers will make it out of the West, regardless of their seeding (and regardless of the health of San Antonio, Dallas, et al).
and if the Celtics &/or the Heat are fully healthy, the Heat will NOT make it out of the East.

ha ha with the way yall are playing only thing im counting on is another lost yall way

Short,
If all the Lakers played so well, why did you get beat by the Meat?

LongTimeLakerFan:

Embarressed Fan,
Dont worry the Laker players wont be unwrapping gifts any more this year.

>>>If all the Lakers played so well
Where did I EVER say the Lakers played well.

Dwayne Wade and Udonis Haslem are former champs.
LeBron, Bosh, and the rest of the team are not.
