Featuring the best tweets from Kristen Blake

Whether it involves her son filling her purse with popcorn, her lack of sleep or the joy of watching a Laker game, Kristen Blake will tweet about it.

"I'm kind of addicted," said Kristen, who's married to Lakers guard Steve Blake. I really can't help it. Whatever comes in my head, I just put out there."

The jump below features some of her best ones in the past month...

How come every time we go to Boa there's tons of paparazzi out front and I don't know who anyone famous is? Haha. I'm clueless....And how come Steve and I can't get a table there?! Lol. We had to eat dinner on a couch outside last night. Haha. No love for us at Boa! =(

"Why is it that when Steves out of town the sh*t hits the fan? Lol. Good thing mama can hold down the fort with the best of em....One's recovering from strep and the other, in the middle of an upper respiratory infection, falls off the couch and is bleeding everywhere...Oh yeah and the baby is uber fussy today and refuses to be put down. Haha."

How many times have you heard Fisher's speech about "irresponsible and reckless play" bc I think I could repeat it verbatim at this point...Maybe I just listen to too much espn radio, read too many Lakers articles online, and watch too many Lakers games?...Or maybe there's literally nothing else for these people to talk about because the Lakers win everything. Pretty boring. Not much to say!"

I've been cleaning up massive amounts of my childrens' vomit all morning. Flu sucks. Someone else want to be my kids mom for the day?Jk. ;)... On the plus side I've almost thrown up several times. Maybe this can be a new diet? No not really. Still kidding."

"I got all 3 kids to sleep minutes before Steve came home which means..perfect time for me to sneak out while everyone naps! Gym time!!... 40 min into my hour workout I get a "come home" text. Naps have ended and the vomitted has commenced. It was a nice break while it lasted!"

"Behind on the game I dvr'd. Just saw Lamar's "flagrant foul" in the 4th. That's ridiculous. These refs are really starting to make me mad!"

"Oh my gosh all 3 kids are sleeping at the same time! And my 4 yr old NEVER naps. This is amazing."

"Oh geez, just had to explain tattoos to my kids. "mommy why does Kobe have stamps allll over him?" Haha. Um those aren't stamps honey."

"All 3 kids officially asleep. Time for bed for me! Don't worry, you won't have to miss me for long-I'll b up around 12, 2, 4, and 6am. C ya!"

"My iPhone just babysat my 2 & 4 yr old while I put the baby 2 sleep! Well technically my husband did via facetime but this phone's awesome!"

"My girlfriend and her 3 little boys is coming over to play with my 3 little boys. 6 boys under 5 yrs old + 2 moms. Bring it on. I'm ready."

"Me and my 3 boys are headed to church now. Yeah! Was so bummed we had to miss last week because of our flu. Have a blessed Sunday all!! =)"

"Thank u 2 the Good Samaritans @church 2day who helped this strugglin mom push Z's stroller, carry J, hold N's hand & try not 2 spill coffee"

"Haven't had a beer at a ball game in years and just couldn't resist it tonight. Oops. #theregoesmydiet #extrasprintstomorrow"

"In related news my jeans don't fit quote so well anymore. They are currently trying to unbutton themselves. Stupid beer."

"Nicholas just spilled his entire popcorn into my open purse. Guess it'll come in handy if I get hungry later?"

"For some reason my son thinks if he dances during a time out the camera HAS to go on him and he keeps getting SO mad when it doesn't. Haha."

""Mom!! The Laker girls r wearing underwear! And baby diapers! And underwear!" and that folks is how u know the outfits have become 2 short."

"I know I should be doing less tweeting and more game watching... but it's hard to focus when you're up by 30 points!! Oh well."

"I think I'm going to fall asleep sitting up in my chair. 2 hrs sleep last night + blowout game = sleepy Kristen."

"My 2 yr old handed me the remote and said "see daddy!" so I put on the dvr of last night's game and now they're happily watching daddy."

"Mom tip: give food a cool name & ur kids'll eat it! I make a smoothie w/banana, apple juice & spinach, call it "monster juice", they luv it! ... I don't think there's any other way I could get em to drink a bright green drink! Works like a charm....now if only that worked on husbands!"

"Trying to relax getting a pedicure and this girl next to me is blabbing SO loudly on her phone. Why doesn't anyone have cell etiquette?"

"Thank you @Starbucks for destroying all of my taste buds the day before Thanksgiving by serving me a BOILING hot cup of coffee. Ridiculous."

"Seriously never seen this many people at equinox...I think every single member is here today workin off that turkey and stuffing! ... Me? I've been here every day this week to work off my stuffing. ;) AND I'll be here tomorrow and the next day too!"

"Feeling so incredibly blessed on this Thanksgiving morning. God is good. =) Have a great day all!"

"No black Friday shopping for me. Can't imagine tryin to shop alone w/a 3 month old 2 yr old and 4 yr old. I think I'd lose one"

"I'm getting gas & some guy sees my OR plates and says "welcome to California!" Aw. How sweet. Who says there's no nice people in la? Not me!"

"Aw. I got my first hater tweet from a Laker fan. How cute. Ah yes basketball season is truly upon us. I forgot the players aren't human."

"Just bc someone has a twitter account doesn't mean u can be rude & classless. It just means you can talk to them. Nicely please."

"Just reached into my purse for my phone and pulled out...popcorn from the last game when my son spilled the whole box in my purse. Haha."

"Love the overweight balding middle aged man behind me yelling at the players to "wake up and stop playing like sh*t, thanksgiving's over" ......"umm you wanna give it a go out there and see how you do fella? ;)"

"At the park w/my babies while big boy's at school. My 2 yr old found another 2 yr old to play with. Their own little language is priceless."

"If the players aren't allowed 2 complain, the refs should @ least do better! He changed his mind on the call & changed it 2 a foul on steve?"

"When they play "everybody clap your hands" I literally can't stop myself from clapping. Anyone else....?"

"It's literally my first time going out in YEARS!! Can you tell I'm tired already?! Time for some red bull!! :)"

"Woooaaaahhh. Welcome to LA. The paparazzi and stuff are no joke out here. I'm currently blind. Goin home to SLEEP! :)"

"I'm missing my hubby and big boys who are all at a bday party right now while I'm home with our fussy baby! Hope they get home soon. :)"

"Why does my power have to go out the night before I go out of town and I need POWER to finish dishes, laundry, vacuum and LiGHT to pack?!"

"I know I'm late on trying "new twitter" but I hate it. Anyone else? ... I see timeline, mentions, retweets, searches, lists.....where the &*@# are my DMs??"

Fair enough, 1 game possibly the fault of Fishers' which the Lakers lost , but there will always be scapegoats from Bill Buckner to Kobe to Brett Favre, to heck, Steve Bartman. If you can pin it on someone it usually sticks and everyone is always looking for one.

S Perkins

I know (think) you must be Dfish, miss your over the top Fisher bashing. This kinder gentler bashing is still funny though.

===================

Isn't that what we all do right here?
I mean, maybe a little thought goes into a some stuff here, but still...
:)

Art -

LOL I would like to think that *I* put in time to write something substantive, and I try to have my mental filter on pretty much all the time (I don't recall issuing a fairly long rant ).

That said, I would think there is something inherently different about posting something that is 180 sentences instead of 180 characters. Then again, for some of the posts here, 180 characters is quite a mouthful... :-)

I hope you're having a good start to your Friday. Will you be on the live chat tonight with Dan"The Man" Loumena?

Cali,

I see what you mean, but I actually mean more along the lines of the second part than the first:

"Honestly, why does sending a virtual text message out to the world through the internet need to garner any sort of praise?"

A lot of that goes on right here, n'est pas?

No matter, when I first saw the headline to this thread on the front page I thought it was going to be the best treats from Kristen Blake, you know, like her favorite holiday snacks or something.

Then I thought I taw a puddy tat.
Hey, it's a quote from Twitter, or Tweety, or it was tweeted, or something. Getting confused.

No to the chat, evenings are always dedicated to family time for me and Mrs Art, which of course always means watching a Lakers game if it's on TV.
Just no blogging at night.
Oh well, enjoy!

Art -

LOL well, I never thought that there would be a news article (roughly speaking) about the impact of virtual text messaging. Perhaps it is because I don't understand the medium - to people interact with each other on that Tweety thing? or is it just a "post-and-let-the-heathens-salivate-over-me" kind of thing?

Well, since I'm a few hours ahead of you (time wise), I'll make sure to catch you on the blog later today. I've gotta wrap up my last paper of the term and head on over to campus to turn it in. Then it's back to Cali on Monday, where I won't have to stay up till 3 in the morning to catch a Lakers game.

Jefe101- Dude you are right. I need to drop this handle, I'm starting to believe it. Man this Hater $hit is CRAZY, I'll end up like Thriller(sitting on the couch)lol

P.S. Next new Handle

If that's the best, I'd hate to see the rest.

Four days until Drew comes back, plays limited minutes, shows some rust, and is blasted for not being a great NBA center. I can't wait.

I really enjoyed Fish making a big shot, which always brings a rash of rabid anti-Fish comments. No, guys, you enjoy it when he does well and complain when he doesn't. Can we try that one again?

Art -FL Lakers Fan,

you wrote: All I know is what has worked and the common thread has been dominant big men and superstar guards with complete games who can close games. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

[ ok. Technically, you repeated it from KobeMVP888. ]

my response: Actually, historically, that's not true. The Chicago Bulls won
6 championships using the same offense with a superstar guard. Are you
about to call Bill Cartwright a dominant big man? I actually can't think of
any other C on that bulls team. [ KB Blitz knows ] However, I'd be really
curious to what your definition of "dominant" is/means if you do think they
were dominant.

Also, here's what you're *NOT* saying. Those 6 championships in Chicago
were won by 2 first team defense all NBA in Pippen & Jordan. 3 of those
championships were won with a 3 first team defensive player in Dennis
Rodman. That entire organization was designed with defense in mind. I did
a ton of research and have posted the links and snippets multiple times.

So rather than going with some sort of basketball cliche [ size is all that
matters ] let's look at what is necessary to win and look at what we have
and make sure that those two things cross in June.

The common thread has been a defensive minded coach, a superstar guard
with a complete game, defense at the SF position & clutch shooting by role
players.

Art -FL Lakers Fan,

Here is how *I* would define dominant in this context:

Dominant player: requires a double-team to defend. Requires a game plan
by the opposing team. Will decisively win any match up against his counter-
parts in most games.

Shaq was the most dominant C in the NBA during the 1st 2 championships.
No, I can't think of anyone who was more dominant, but I think his poor
work ethic began to erode his dominance in the 3rd.

Good Morning Laker Fam,

Time for the Lakers to handle their biz on the road. I like the Flatts but I'm rolling with the original version this morning...

I always look forward to the first extended road trip of the season because...

1. The games will be over by 11pm EST :-)
2. See how the team and individuals respond to the challenge of playing the Super Bowl everyday.

Yep, the Lakers are struggling right, but when you're the World Champs theirs no excuses....its all about winning...

hobbitmage,

I didn't write any of that, KobeMVP did, but thanks for playing.

I was just responding to Kobe MVP and used his quote to identify the post I was responding to.

Anyway, good response.

Dominant player: requires a double-team to defend. Requires a game plan
by the opposing team. Will decisively win any match up against his counter-
parts in most games.

Can a player be considered dominant if they are only dominant defensively even if they don't make much of an impact offensively?
Someone like Rodman?
Mutombo?

I'm sure there are others but those 2 stick out in my head at the moment.

So, would a defensively dominant player like Rodman qualify as a dominant big for the Bulls teams?

Hmm, I guess Rodman wasn't really all that big.

The Bulls were an exception to some degree as were the 2004 Pistons EXCEPT that both teams featured bigs who could defend the low post at the pf position (Horace Grant, Rodman, Rasheed Wallace) and who could defend the rim (Cartwright, Longley, Ben Wallace). The Lakers of today are similar with a very long, agile front line. Without all that length in the paint ... and YES that includes Andrew Bynum .. these Lakers would still be seeking a championship. Bill Russell had a career scoring average of only 15.1 ppg, but we all know why his teams won championships. Also, I don't know if you saw my post the other day on the post guard/shooting guard combinations who have won championships over the past two decades, but it has been the shooting guard position that is flooded with All-Stars and future Hall of Famers, not the point guard position.

All I am saying is that the LAKERS' organization has used this formula to win championships. I recognize that the league is transforming into a point guard dominated league, but it is still a big man's game. Therefore, the formula to winning championships probably will not change. The paint is where it's at, baybeee!

LRob

Thanks for the Scottie Pippen article. I agree with everything you say about him.

Just when the Fisher haters were starting to gain momentum, BAM! Fisher wins a game for us with yet another clutch Laker moment. Did you haters see how calm and composed Fish was in the biggest moment of the game? Did you guys see how he knew how much time was left to the last millisecond? That is Derek Fisher for you, Mr Dependable. Balls of Steel. Ice water in his veins. This guy gets a free pass because he does things like that on a consistent basis.

I also wanted to give props to Kurt Rambis for the job he's doing with the T-Wolves. The record doesn't show it, but in my opinion, Big Kurt is doing an excellent job developing Kevin Love and Micheal Beasley. Of course, Love and Beasley are the only 2 players that are any good on that team. The T-wolves GM has done a great job of making that team probably the least talented team in the league. But Kurt is dealing with the cards that he's dealt and he's helping Love and Beasley reach thier potentials. I think he deserves a lot of credit for that.

Plus, the T-wolves go out and compete hard every night. Big Kurt has the T-Wolves knowing thier roles. This is a team that I actually like to watch because of Love and Beasley. But Big Kurt Rambis is giving this team the direction it needs. Get Big Kurt some players and he'll be an excellent coach.

Go Lakers!

Sure, sure! You save the best videos for your intro!!! LOL!!! Good Lakers Game day Morning My Brother!!!

A song for the Lady whose smile drives away the darkness & brings forth the light LakerLass:

My dear Mamba,

Wow, you know me toooooooo well. Another one of my faves. (In fact, one of my all time favorite albums - inherited from my father.)

you ol' smoothie, you

LEWSTRS,

Nice song choice, but then, any Beatles song is a good choice.
My favorite Beatles song that is sun related would be Good Day Sunshine.

KobeMVP,

I get it, punny guy!

Here we are in the second game of this important seven game road trip. We have a current 3 game winning streak, and a great test with the Bulls, including Boozer, tonight...

We need to string together a substantial winning streak to offset that four game losing streak hiccup...Doing it on this road trip would be a statement, and we keep pace with Boston with 9, and Dallas with 11...

Not only do our Lakers seem to bond and jell on these long road trips, but we also getting Bynum back on Tuesday against the Wizards...Unlike many here, I expect immediate impact with his return, especially on the defensive end, and controlling the boards...

So it's baby steps as we need to go one game at a time...But I will be looking for a more focused unit, one with energy and hustle...I will anxiously be watching to see if they meet my expectations...

Lakers Dynasty - The Next Generation...

You don't think, but you think that I think...WTH?...Huh? Once again I say...STOP THIS!!! STOP THIS MADNESS IMMEDIATELY!!!! LOL! No 131 we want you at your BEST! You can only claim to be the best if you play against the Best and though it pains me to say this at this point in time the Celtics are one of the best, but....Being the best is one thing. Being The Freakin LA Lakers is a whole different animal. We eat the BEST for breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I give John Hollicker no credibility...especially since he puts Phoenix at number 5 before the Rockets or the Sixers...

Besides he is a known Laker Hater...and even he, can't deny Lakers #1 in this ranking...actually I'm surprised he didn't find some justification and fictional system and disrespect the Lakers as usual...

By the way 131, speaking of Delante....LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Game day - can't wait. Hopefully the guys are rested and ready to go.

Prior to the Clipper game, I don't know if you guys saw this but Socks was working out and looking really good. But then I saw him shooting short-corner 3's. Anyone know if he drained any of them? Actually, never mind that - anyone know why he was doing that in the first place? Now don't get me wrong. A Drew (or Gasol) 3 in a game would be crazy, but I don't ever want to see the team in that position unless it's complete garbage time, and even then I'd rather not. It was just not something I expected to see. I'd rather him work on his footwork... or free throws... or how about a sky hook? Yeah - I'd be more excited about that.

Hmmmmm... such a very slow day at work. VERY slow. It seems that everyone's out of town and I'm hanging by myself. I may just have to take my talents home to bed.

FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way 131, speaking of Delante....LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think you want to upset him! If you see him riding his motorcycle with a big back pack ... run!

AW HELL NAW HE DIDN'T!!! SWEET JESUS 131!!!!!!

Hobbitmage,

"The common thread has been a defensive minded coach, a superstar guard
with a complete game, defense at the SF position & clutch shooting by role
players."

I'm glad you are nobody and not the GM of the Lakers. You're team will loose to CELTICS AND SPURS EASILY. WITHOUT BYNUM and GASOL, it is pretty obvious Lakers's ARTEST (defensive SF), KOBE (Superstar guard with complete game) and Derek Fisher (clutch roleplayer), this team will look like the Detroit Pistons of today, Prince, Hamilton and Gordon and may not even make the playoffs in the tough WESTERN Conference. YOU LIVE IN THE PAST !!! You'll never survive in the future.

You PUT BYNUM AND GASOL IN THE PISTONS TEAM OF TODAY AND THEY WILL BE AN ELITE TEAM RIGHT NOW.

@GDUB – Soul 2 Soul – They took us by storm back in the day.

@Mamba – Good morning. Bringing the street corner doo wop with the Flamingos…simply marvelous. Stan Getz channeling a little Lester Young…very smooth bruh!

@Rocky – you’re right, Rambis deserves some credit. The T-Wolves are competitive every night. The next step will be learning how to win some of those close ones.

@Lew – You brought your game face today. The Clash, Ziggy, Beatles, Still Bill and of course, thanks for the Detroit Rock City shout out!

@Mark G – Love that Charlie Don’t Surf and your double up on Rick’s protégé’s. And thank goodness the Panic is over in the D :-)

Thanks for the Scottie Pippen article. I agree with everything you say about him.

MVP - Just imagine how much different Pippen’s legacy would have been if the Lakers had got him in 2000 like Phil wanted. He would’ve had 9 rings elevating him past Hondo’s 8 rings into 2nd place behind Russ. Wow!

Brian K. (or Andy, but what's the difference) had a very smart take on Fish's game winner. Paraphrased, even Fisher, the slowest PG in the league, was able to get to rim from the middle of the floor. Nobody can stop a good gaurd from getting into the lane from the middle of the floor. Aaron Brooks has said he isn't quick enough to stop himself. Those penetrating guards are a matter of team D.

Now Fish's layups and pullup jumpers in transition are another issue. But his defense is over-criticized.

it's great to have her and husband Blake as part of the Lakes family.

KOBE WATCH....

When Kobe drops his 21st point tonight he passes Hondo for 14th place (NBA/ABA) all time scoring. (Sorry 131-92/Red's Child).

Laker Nation we are witnessing history everyday....let's make sure we appreciate it!

STAPLES 24's TEAM.... Lakers Coach by Gregg Popavich
Bynum, Gasol, Prince,Hamilton, Gordon

Hoobitmage's TEAM.... Pistons Coach by Phil Jackson
Wallace, Day,Artest,Kobe,Fisher

I WILL BEAT YOU UP!!!

DAMN!!! That Kobe Bryant must be a pretty good basketball player huh?

Rocky,

"Plus, the T-wolves go out and compete hard every night. Big Kurt has the T-Wolves knowing thier roles. This is a team that I actually like to watch because of Love and Beasley. But Big Kurt Rambis is giving this team the direction it needs. Get Big Kurt some players and he'll be an excellent coach."

You are right. I am too, enjoying a Wolves game. I think Rambis will get his roster filled up in time. Since Rambis came, Ridnour, Wes Johnson, Beasely have been added and kept Love. They all play well in his system. They add 3-4 more players next year that fits Rambis requirement, they could be a surprise playoff team next year.

Prince is too short to play basketballl!!!

LMAO!

Mamba, be careful with the buddy buddy stuff with 131. Remember, Sonny was supposed to be a likable poster till he turned on you guys.

Shaq, Grant,Pippen,Bryant,Harper! Coached by PHIL JACKSON...... That looks like a Bulls team Lakers 2000.

Eh, I guess, if you consider pretty good to be someone who-
can make players like Smush look like NBA players (where is he now).
can make players like Pau look like MVPs (scared of his own shadow).
can make players like Fisher still BE in the NBA (nevermind).

@Mark G, Well I'll be!!!! My bad sir! LOL!

mclyne

Nice call on the Cold War Kids!

By the way, Kristen Blake is a cutie! She reminds me of Amy Mickelson.

@MarkG
That is probably my favorite skit of all time!

I'm still waiting for Chapelle to re-emerge with a new show, or movie, or something, anything!

mclyne - thanks for the set...you are getting to know me well...all great selections...

Have you ever heard of this group from Italy...(what about you Zaira)
My friends and I loved them in High School...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzjoIRPtuWo

Opps...Here is the EFM song I wanted...

@mclyne,

seriously, it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I just about go into tears when I watch it. Ranks up there with Lucy's Veetavitavegimin.

Posted by Rocky

Get a clue Rocky...Fish does not do this on a consistent basis. He has only been consistently pathetic his entire career. Makes a big shot one or twice a season stinks up the court the rest of the time and leaves it to Kobe, Gasol and Lamar to be consistent or the Lakers would be just an average team. Fisher has zero pressure to perform...because he has zero responsibilities on the floor
and every Laker Sheep I mean Fan thinks his intangibles make up for the pathetic play on a night to night basis.

Hobbitmage team Milicic, Love, Artest,Kobe,Fisher -Wolves Coached by Kurt Rambis (proponent of BIGS are NOT important just dominant perimeter players).

STAPLES's24 team Bynum, Gasol, Beasely,Wes Johnson,Ridnour- Lakers
Coached by Phil Jackson (proponent BIGS ARE important as well as athletic scoring long perimeter players).

Who wins?

@LEWSTRS

No, I have not- very intersting. Reminded me a bit of these guys:

131, dude, you're starting to grow on me. Kinda like that toenail fungus I had a few years back. But seriously, I think we're going to have to adopt you as our favorite pet troll. Anyone who can come here (even at the age of 90) and hang with the mighty Laker blogsters, and do so with humor and semi-wit, has earned his greeny chia pet-ness.

Your boys look pretty good...so far. But yes, in fact we are going to kick their butts in the finals...again.
