Lakers guard Steve Blake to miss tonight's game against Phoenix

November 14, 2010 |  6:07 pm

Lakers guard Steve Blake will miss tonight's game against the Phoenix Suns because of a stomach virus.

The backup point guard's absence should lead to increased minutes for Shannon Brown and/or Sasha Vujacic. Vujacic has appeared in only four of the Lakers' nine games thus far, averaging 2.5 points in 4.3 minutes. An increased role for Vujacic could prove interesting against the Suns, considering he has a contentious history with Phoenix reserve guard Goran Dragic

Vujacic's scuffle with fellow Slovenian Dragic nearly cost the Lakers' Game 6 in the 2010 Western Conference Finals against Phoenix, prompting Kobe Bryant to suggest he wanted to kill Vujacic.
