REPOST!

Good Morning ya'll!

Just finished watching the game and we look really GOOD out there. It was a great game against a legitimate playoff caliber team. Rose and Noah kept the Bulls in the game, I admire their hard work out there. Love how the Killer Bs responded back when our lead cut back to like 2 pts I think or was it tied? I forget, sorry for the lack of accuracy.

But overall good game, but is there something wrong with Pau? He didnt look like himself last night. We all know what he can do and he can bang with the big boys when needed, like you know the Finals. It's regular season, he can be semi-soft lol as long as the other guys are doing their job Lakers will be fine. I really do hope we break the Bulls record, it's on my Christmas wish list lol.

My choice of music for today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbqmDKyw3A4

Cheers!

I love that yahoo article.

this is why the Lakers are Kobe's team and not Pau's:

“Actually, I really don’t give a [expletive]. I’m not curious about it. Give me my [expletive] gold medal and then let me try to win another NBA championship. Let’s practice, have a good time, and if you need me in the last two minutes of the game, I’ll be coming in to pull the [expletive] out.”

the gospel according to kobe:

“They don’t learn,” Bryant said. “I’m here. I’m not going anywhere. No matter what the injury – unless it’s completely debilitating – I’m going to be the same player I’ve always been. I’ll figure it out. I’ll make some tweaks, some changes, but I’m still coming.”

I bought some last minute tickets http://citrustickets.com/sports-tickets/nba-tickets/la-lakers-tickets and had a great time watching little SB go to town! Sweet win lakers!

Why that's such a wonderful Holiday story! Carry On!

Is Shannon B. the Most Improved Player? Do they still have that award in the NBA?

*____________________________________________________________________*
SHANNONS TIME IS HERE – MOST IMPROVED PLAYER – BANDWAGON
*____________________________________________________________________*
No one on the Lakers is happier for Brown's emergence then Bryant, who took Brown under his wing as soon as he was traded to the Lakers two years ago
and has mentored him into the all-around player he has become this season."
"He's a worker," said Bryant, who called Brown his little brother. "He's
talented, physically gifted, but he puts the work in."@ Arash Markazi
*___________________________________________________________________*
(01) LAKERTRUTH – OWNER - WOW, Shannon Brown was unbelievable. Great to see Phil play
him and Blake to close out the game
(02) PSYCHEDLAKERGIRL – CO-OWNER - Shannon's my name and he's got the game! Woohoo!
(03) G in DC(aka GDUB) – DRIVER1| I said it on the Live Chat but, as of t'day, Shannon could
very well be the most improved player in the Association.
04) LROB –DRIVER2 - Shannon...Spartan Dawg doing his thang...look out! Good call on Shannon
for the NBA's MIP award (Most Improved Player). If he keeps playing like this he'll definitely be in the running. Shannon Brown is doing Chi-town proud. Too bad his fellow Proviso East Alum (Mr. Glenn Rivers) didn't recognize the talent and secure him for the C's. Also Shannon has the physical tools to be
a very good defender. That's another area I expect to see an improvement from him.
(05) VMAN – RIDING SHOTGUN - Shannon's a runnin', gunnin', dunkin' example that you can
work your way to the top of the shot charts.
(06) KOBEMVP88 – RIDING SHOTGUN2 - Shannon's Brown game has improved exponentially on both ends of the court so far in this young season.
(07) BEDO – Shannon Brown is the MAN !! He is the most improved Laker
(08) FANOFTHEMAMBA -
(09) MAMBA24 - Juts Wow! That’s all just Wow!!
(10) JUSTANOTHERMAMBAFAN - WOW - I enjoyed last night's game so much!! I am officially impressed with Shannon Brown. You can tell how much work he put into his game this summer - true. But you can also see just exactly how Kobe Bryant's work ethic and approach to the game has influenced this young man. Shannon is a sponge. He's soaking in the knowledge and experience he has at his fingertips and is making the most of it, as evidenced by his complete confidence out there on the court. Most improved? I should say so. His progression as a player is a joy to behold, and his maturity as a young man is also on display. Go forth and play Shannon! Do your thang! The Lakers and the Nation love you for it!
(11) LAKERLASS -
(12) JAMIE SWEET - Shannon Brown. When he plays like that he allows Phil to actually give
Kobe a good break
(13) SHANNONFAN12 – SECURITY - When it comes to "most improved", yea- Shannon Brown has
done that....in substantial measures. But really, isn't Shannon Brown great this season, because
it's his time to do so? He's been with the Lakers for at least two seasons. He's been incubating and
learning all this time. Yes, he made some crazy moves in the past, where we weren't sure what the
heck he was thinking. But now, I believe that he is becoming the player he was always meant to be.
He's matured and doing this by leaps and bounds. Look at all his 3pt shots. He's lethal now. And
dare I say it?.... that maybe Shannon Brown will be the 'heir apparent' after Kobe Bryant retires.
GO LAKERS.........GO SHANNON!
(14) TOM DANIELS - Count me among those who did not think Shannon Brown could improve
this much. Along with Barnes and Blake, the new, improved Shannon Brown is part of a vastly
improved Laker bench. He still has work to do on his floor game, he is scary leading a fast break,
but he is now a key part of this team.
(15) 63 FOOTER - Shannon - really love to see a guy work hard and then have something to show
for it. So many players never improve their game - hope he continues to play at this level and
maybe even better.
(16) RICK FRIEDMAN - Hard not to notice a greatly improved Shannon Brown
(17) CHICNSTU - Shannon Is the most improved player in this early season. Much of it is due his
shooting and confidence in his game, which he lacked last season. I've been calling for PJ to play
UPS alongside Kobe for a long long time.. and this is why. It builds his confidence and Kobe also
keeps a leash on him and releases it when he sees UPS is HOT! hat's what Brown can do for you!
(18) LUV-THOSE-LAKERS - Shannon was definitely the man last nite. His offense is so
improved I now EXPECT him to make every shot, as I used to with Kobe.
(19) LANCE FROM DA BRONX - BUT DON'T JUST LOVE WHAT SHANNON DID TO
IMPROVE HIS GAME, THIS GROWTH OF A PLAYER IS REALLY A JOY TO SEE
(20) CYBERCOSMIX - Shan-WOW! might not only get most improved player, which he seems to be by a longshot - but will press L.O. for 6th man. He has not only improved his shooting, but has done so by leaps and bounds. His decision making is also much better, he's not hesitant on the court at all. He is playing with such confidence that it's a beautiful thing. I love it whenever a talented player/good person bounces around the league, GM's and coaches seemingly too stupid to identify the quality they have in their midst, and they end up coming to the Lakers, finding a home and staying. From B-Shaw to Ron Ron, Rick Fox to Blake and Barnes, the Lakers have frequently brought in these kind of overlooked players and have watched them blossom. ShanWOW! has been a fan-fave from day one so it's been especially sweet to see his game improve so much. Best thing of all, he hasn't lost a bit of his hops! I'd say if he continues his hot shooting he's a shoo-in for most-improved, we can let L.O. take the 6th man since then they'd both be winning something. Another much warranted THANK YOU to Mitch, he has truly learned much from Master West and is showing it! ShanWOW! for Space Cadet VladRad - that wasn't a steal, it's more like robbing the US Mint!
(21) JOLLYRANCHER - Now Shannon needs someone to teach him shot selection and when to act like a journyman and make it look like doing cool stuff is just business as usual.
(22) RAMMNEETKB24 - He is definitely the MIP of the season thus far. He is putting up 10.3 ppg
and won us the game last night!
(23) KOBEMVP888 - Back to Shannon Brown. To think that he is probably the ninth man in our
playoff rotation is mind boggling, especially when PJ normally goes about 8 deep come the WCF
and the NBA Finals.
(24) LAKERFAN32 - know it's too early in the season, but I honestly think Shannon Brown
deserves the "most improved player" of the year award! He just keeps getting better!
(25) DON’T BLAME DELHARRIS - Shannon "Mickey Mouse Hands" Brown for MIP 2011!
(26) TNTLAKERFAN - Shannon is definitely the difference-maker off the bench this year. The
person that should be most excited by this should be the great Kobe Bryant. He now has a guy
that will allow him to dominate in short stretches during the regular season and finish games
fresh. And with Fisher getting ready to retire in the next two, the Lakers could finally have
the prototypical shooting guard/point guard in the triangle alongside Kobe for years to come.
(27) MCLYNE - Also, please add me to the ShanWow bandwagon. This guy is single handedly
ending Sasha's carrer as a Laker by his spectacular all around game. Go UPS!!!!!!
(28) OCISMAMBACOUNTY - agree that Shannon continues to impress me this season and I can't
wait to see how he preforms against Boston, Miami, and Orlando. I think the added motivation will
push him even further, especially with Kobe's drive feeding the rest of the team.
(29) FRMKT - No doubt... Another Laker who made me eat my words this year and it sure was tasty! He's definitely a legit MIY candidate and I believe he has the genuine desire to continue improving his game. He just might be able to fill in for Kobe when he retires! Shannon knows that the Laker organization will pay for excellence and I think Shannon has that potential. Ahhh, the power and seduction of money. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCkLEo-DT1Q
(30) LAKERTOM - I’ve always been a Shannon doubter but I have to give the kid mucho kudos for
his great play so far this season. Please add me to his bandwagon and here’s hoping what we have
seen so far this season is for real.

Last nights blog crew was downright pathetic. Talk about spamming Ouuuchhhh, looks to me like someone needs a high colonic and maybe some herbal tea before he has an anuerysm. It's funny how after a tough win, this a$$hole goes off and makes the blog unreadable. I'm telling you, as the season moves along, he's going to turn into Mike T. I'm with 888, if it was up to me, I would ban him for a week. Thanks Mamba, someone had to say it. What I'm going to find even more funny is the responses I'm inevitably going to get from this clown.....and I used to like his post too. Let this so called "blogger's" addiction to Haterade be a lesson to all of you, my fellow bloggers: Don't hate...appreciate, lest you follow the path of Mike T. and Ouuuuchhhhh! (may he find the marbles he clearly lost by following the Golden Calves and return to the P&G fold where you rightfully belong).

Enjoyed the win. Not worried about Gasol's 'bad' game at all. Chicago did a good job defensively on him. With Bynum in the lineup, there is no way they are that succesful. Gasol did appear a bit tired, maybe the long minutes are catching up to him. Not sure why Caracter is not on the court more to give him and Lamar some rest.
I believe Kyle Korver was the difference maker for Chicago, he went 0 for 4 from three point range, some were wide open shots. If he hits a couple of those it would have changed the game and made it closer. However, I think we still would've won.

While Gasol is not who ricky thinks he is, he is not desrving of the criticism hurled his way by, of all peoeple, "Laker Fans". NBA analysts and announcers all sing his praises. Many believe he is the best power forward in the game today, some will even say that he has been the best player so far this eason. Ultimately, it's us Lakers fans who should appreciate his talents and outstanding contributions to the team. I know Kobe, Phil, and the rest of the organization do. Two out of three rings is quite remarkable, when it becomes 3 out of 4, it will be downright phenomenal. GO LAKERS!

same to you and STAY HEALTHY

Kobe giving Shannon major props on that interview, calling him a GREAT shooter.

@MVP – I enjoyed your report from the game. You’re right about Noah’s illegal picks. They’re becoming KGish. Other than that I don’t have a problem with the way his game is officiated. I think they’ll let him get away with more physicality because he’s the aggressor.

@J24 – I agree about the Bulls working hard last night. Sounds like Rihanna got her another clubbin anthem.

@KGMVP2004 - Are you still rolling with KG? What's the deal? Inquiring minds....

LMAO!!!

To Laker J

I think Pau Gasol is the bes PF/C in the NBA history and obviouly the best current player in the entire NBA. Today he had a bad game, YES, but a game become irrelevant. He is the best Laker, the franchise player, and he deserve the MVP award this year (he deserved last year, too) In the near future, Pau Gasol will be near to KAJ in the Lakers history. Period.

LOL! No, No, NO! Paula rolls in the wheelchair, BigBaby Drools in a High Chair and KG babbles in a Restraining Chair.
Carry On Sir!

The current pecking order in the Lakers history is:

Magic
Pau
Kobe
Kareem
Shaq

actually a "musical"sensibility

Good morning, Lakeraholics.
-
I'm kind of out of comments today. Things weren't perfect, but they were good. We're evolving into the team we should be: Lead by the balanced examples of Kobe and Derek with second tier leadership under Pau and Lamar with a group of warriors underneath all ready to do their role.
-
Things are working out nicely.
-
What do we play for? RINGS!!!
-
Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.
-
GO LAKERS!!!

First and foremost, the Lakers are Kobe's team. I read some article on espn or fox where the writer rated Pau as the best player in the game right now. Yes, Pau has done extremely well so far this season and he's a key component to the Lakers' success and is extremely talented and is a great basketball player, but he is not transcedent (at least not yet). At times, Gasol shows his weakness by not forcing his game and rising above cheap shots and non-calls.

As much as I hate when Kobe forces shots, I can see that for the most part (now), he forces those shots to try to get his team going. As a leader, you have to be able to take the tough shots; the shots to win a game and the shots that can lose a game. One thing PJ said back in the day to the veteran players when asked how come he didn't give grief to a young Kobe Bryant was this, "because he's always in attack mode."

Gasol lets other players take him out of the game and he kind of goes into a shell. He's just so good that we don't see him taken out of games too much anymore, plus he's developed some toughness with the Lakers that he didn't have with Memphis so he's better off in that way as well. When Pau is in attack mode, nobody can stop him, but he's not always in that mindset.

That is why, IMHO, he's up there as a player, but if you're arguing that he's at the same level or higher than Kobe, Pau falls short.

Since the popular thing around here to do is to ask the moderator to ban someone.
I think anyone who responds to this post,

November 24, 2010 at 09:57 AM

Should banned themselves.

ricky,
You would have wayyyy more success posting in a Grizzlies blog. I don't think you would get an argument there. Here however, your posts are becoming inaccurate and prejudiced to say the least. As you have said, you are a Pau fan and not a Lakers fan, that my friend is an understatement. I'm sure in Spain you didn't always have the luxury to watch all the Lakers games and therefore didn't get to see all the great Lakers Centers. That's why you continue with your nonsense of Pau being better than Kareem, Wilt, and Shaq. Many here have said that we believe Pau will be the best PF in Lakers history. That is a big honor and accomplishment, but apparently not enough for the spaniard contingency. Memphis is your place. I'll save you the trouble by the way:

Kareem+Magic+Wilt+Kobe=Pau Gasol

My bad, peeps. I meant this post

welcome to the club. never too late. great post

Here in Spain we want Pau Gasol like the BEST OF THE BETTERS. And he is. He is the Ultimate player, and 7 fot. with point guard skills, playing 2-3 positions and with a super BB IQ. He is better than Kareem, better than Shaq (he can make a simple free throw, man, he was not a real player, only a big body) and obviously, better than Wilt (a losser vs. Russell)

Pau Gasol is Magic/Kareem combo. He is simply, THE BEST (ESPN dixit)

REPOST

Good Monring Mamba24 and Laker Blog Fam,

As Ice Cube said "It was a good day!" I love competition, it brings out the best in the best, and the Bulls/Lakers game was competitive. Noah played great defense on Pau, which is what he will see when the Finals come around next June. Can't wait for Andrew to get back, we need his defensive presence, let's hope he realizes that his defensive presence is what makes the Lakers almost unstoppable!

I'm the cook in my house and we're having 15-18 people over tomorrow and the cooking starts now. See you guys on the Blog Friday and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Magia32, you broke your own rule.

Pau Gasol is the best bilingual player in the history of the NBA. In that regard, ricky is sooooo right, and so is ESBN.

How great is it, that the Lakers have a formidable bench. Not only are we deeper, but seeing our 2nd units extending leads, instead of losing them, is so exciting. Granted our starting schedule has been soft, last night's win, was a good barometer to see how we match up against play off caliber teams...

We passed the test with flying colors. This without our big man, Andrew Bynum. Once he comes back, the Lakers will have no more tests, but instead will be testing teams to see who will be a worthy competition for us...

I have a feeling there won't be too many teams in the Association that can give us a fight, once we are fully healthy and all our players are available.

I'm going to be on the chat from about 1 to 2. I have to take off then for an assignment, but I'll leave the chat open for the rest of the evening. So if you can't make the time I'm there, you can at least stop by at your convenience later. Feel free to bring your questions
