Exactly what game were you watching?

Double-double but... Pau was in holidays tonight. After a perfect game he need a perfect holiday.

Well, working this way he will arrive to playoffs plenty of rest and at his top.

¿Where was ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh after the perfect game? Lost in his own and stupefied.

Salud !!

and now, back to one of your favorite segment:

With Ricky in the Morning from Barcelona!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It wasn't as if Golden State was putting up much resistence in Gasol's perfect game.

Matt Barnes perfect game was more impressive

Pau paces himself through the season he'll have great, good, and mediocre games. If he had the same drive as Kobe he would be a legitimate MVP candidate.

how courageous of you

Hey Karmaniac, com va tot.

Bad game from Pau today. 12.11 is double-double, but for Pau is a bad game. That is the real world.......today.

Hey Ouchhhhhh, not problem bro. Pau play poorly today. Bad game. I have not problem to said that. Lakers had the Killers-B and he can win this game (last season Lakers loss this game for sure)

JUSTA

you were asking if there r OTHER players who had Back 2 Back PERFECT GAMES

i know that you were PROJECTING Gassy to have one. very naive to not look up the schedule and to dout that Noah/Thibaudeau will let that happen.

this was the PERFECT Memphis Gassy.

as MM will say: VINTAGE GASOL

Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh please: less alcohol and more books.

Repeat: Where were you the Gasol's perfect game night ?? Drinking again...

Thank you for the kind words. I'm better but not out of the woods. I am leveling off but I know
I will get worse before I get better. I don't want to put my business out here but I am waiting for
transplant. I had recently had a PlereX catherter (sp?) put in my chest to drain fluids from my
lungs as I was literally drowning in my own blood. The stress of my health was getting unbearable
for Mrs Justa taking on so much more for the family. My improvement has helped that situation
down. I have been reading the blog but have not input as I needed to focus on health and family.
I will stop by periodically to throw my 2 cents worth of opinions and will remain part timer for a
while longer. Again thanks for the kind thoughts and is much appreciated. Posted by:

What you talking about Willis? LOL! This is still the cut 2Phatt. YES!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a great game!

People are complaining about Pau, etc., but remember: Thib keyed his defense against the low-post and Pau. Not only that, Noah’s an excellent player who matches up well. And Pau had a low-energy not-as-focused night. But this is what makes a team great: playing against good teams with good coaches. Not every team is going to be a bunch of scrubs with an idiot for a coach.
When Kobe started to go off, Thib keyed on him. What’s so great about this season is Phil has more options than that. Lamar came through when we needed him in the 3rd. And the Killer B’s! Phil’s got two great vets (who could start) and a greatly improved new 2 in Shannon (who kept us in the game in the first half). THAT’S a great game!

And we frickin’ won!

So when the trolls all come out wanting to tar and feather Pau, just remember: great teams are built with depth for this very purpose; close down option A, then option B takes over, then C, D, E (though Ebanks didn’t play tonight). That’s the beauty of great basketball.

Oh, and when you don’t credit Noah and the Bulls’ D with handling Pau, and just think Pau sucks, imagine what other teams’ fans are all thinking when Kobe goes off: “Gee, why can’t (fill in the blank) guard that Kobe guy better? Our guy sucks. Trade him. And why can’t our team D better against that Kobe guy?” Sometimes people and teams just play well.

The Truly Dreaded Repost -

Now, I have been told that I know nothing about basketball, but last night showed how a player will adapt to the ref's calls, or in this case: non-calls. In the first half it looked to me like Noah was over Pau's back so much that Pau should have been wearing a saddle. Since the refs weren't calling it, he was able to play exceptional defense. Pau on the other hand, just couldn't get over the fact that the calls weren't going his way. It was kind of like his "perfect game" made him forget how to adjust from night-to-night. I think maybe the mental toughness is still just a bit lacking, but that's easy to say when I am watching from my comfy chair munching on a box of Hot Tamales.

JR

2Phatt, mamba24 - thanks for liking it. I actually LIKE well-played games (as long as the Lakers win). Not necessarily close games (but in a lot of ways, this game wasn't THAT close), but games where both teams play excellent ball. It brings out the greatness of the Lakers.

I remember '69 with respect (if total Celtic hatred). The Knicks in '70 as well (great team!). Those were great series... but we frickin' lost. Still, win or lose, I'd rather play a great team. Lakers/Celtics in the 80's - THE BEST!

The more strong teams we play, the stronger we will be come postseason. I don't EVER want to get caught being complacent in the postseason... this helps to make sure we aren't.

The dreaded re-post:

John:

Fish is a key defensive player? Which defense are you talking about?? He defending NBA players coz he is the President of the NBA Players Association? :)

I dont see any on-court key-defense from Fish yet. Rose burnt him today. Thankfully Kobe and Ron took on Monta Ellis when playing against the Warriors. If not, he would have killed Fish as well.

He might be hitting key shots late in the game. So has Blake done this year. May be we can keep Fish in the end-game, for his experience. But PJ should start Blake.
Next game its his protégé in Utah, D-Will. Lets see what Fish does in defending him. The only D in Fisher is in his 1st name: D for Derek!!

Posted by: Kobefan in Cupertino | November 24, 2010 at 02:47 AM
=====

1) Derek Fisher is shooting 54.8% from downtown; his 8.3 ppg is up from last year. He's averaging more assists and is shooting 88.5% from the free throw line this season. Last night, he did have his first poor offensive performance in awhile, but that was only because his shot was off. He did other very smart things on the floor.

2) His defense has been stellar. He was assigned to the 6'8" Luol Deng for the most part last night, not Derrick Rose, who is burning the rest of the NBA for 25 ppg. Deng had a quiet 13 point night on 5-13 shooting. Fish was very physical with him and frustrated him. Remember, in the NBA it is TEAM defense that wins games and Derek Fisher knows where to be, how to communicate and how to lead on defense. It's a definite factor in the Lakers' success.

3) Why would anyone want to alter the chemistry of Company B? Blake, Barnes and Brown are developing a chemistry that has this bench on pace to be one of the greatest in NBA history.

4) Kobefan in Cupertino - there are Lakers fans in mass numbers who feel the way you do about Derek Fisher. Out of curiosity how many years have you been saying the same things about him? How did you feel when he came back to the Lakers in 2007?

For the cancerous bloggers who insulted me about my comment that "Pau & the Four Bees brought us home", I was simply saying that those were the 5 guys on the court down the stretch. I am acutely aware that Gasol's performance was sub-standard for him. It's a shame that this wonderful blog is flooded with mean-spirited, holier-than-thou fans who get great joy in mocking other bloggers and twisting, exaggerating and distorting everything they say. You are worse than trolls. I'm actually surprised that MM tolerates this.

The more strong teams we play, the stronger we will be come postseason. I don't EVER want to get caught being complacent in the postseason... this helps to make sure we aren't. Posted by: 63 Footer | November 24, 2010 at 07:50 AM

NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!

888 - don't sweat it; it was the "brought us home" that made me figure out that's what you were talking about.

Were you hiding in the bathroom in the second half so the Lakers could win?

@Mamba – Boogie Oogie…senior year – still sounds good. I think they’re LA girls. And of course Black Butterfly is classic.

@2Phatt – I was definitely a youngster when that CCR hit. I know it was a top 10 hit. (Art FL – could talk more about CCR. I remember him saying that was one of his favorites.) I always liked the lyrics on that one about a poor band just jamming on the corner making people happy. Kinda reminds me of how the doo wop groups used to sing on the corner.

nice win.. dont know where we'd be without our bench right now... well not the whole bench.. just the killer Bs side of the bench not the luke/sasha side of the bench... its like our starters are just coasting right now knowing they have such a reliable bench.. gasol is running no contact yoga drills in the key, artest seems mentally checked out (although i'm guessing its the plantar acting up again), and dfish well is just being dfish with his open door policy go ahead just violate me defensive stance.

@63 Footer - excellent observations on Thibs defense. Being a fan of the NBA and not just the Lakers, I appreciate the the effort and skills of other teams/players. And last night Noah was balling. I've watched a few Bulls game this season and last night they played with more energy than usual. Some time we just have to give the other team credit. They do get paid also right!

the cancerous bloggers who …I'm actually surprised that MM tolerates this.

Posted by: KobeMVP888 | November 24, 2010 at 07:57 AM

u feel insulted. REALLY?????????????????

"I'm actually surprised that MM tolerates this." INDEED

LRob - "Some time we just have to give the other team credit. They do get paid also right!"

Funny thing that.

The Pau bashers haven't a clue. The Lakers have been a championship team since his arrival. They are blind to the fact that Pau is our most consistent player. Yes he had a bad night. WHO DOESN'T?

It just shows that they lack knowledge for the game of BasketBall.

Stu called the bench, "the B Team". I kinda like that. It is a rather interesting , yet simple double entendre.

Does anyone know what MMs video is called on YouTube? For some reason I cannot view his embedded videos on my iPod. So I figure i'd watch them on YouTube.com instead.

Or rather post the link to his video, I should be able to see it that way...

Thanks!
--FEARless

Gooood Morning Lakerland!
Nice win! There were "Issues" but we were expecting a tough game from Chicago, no? We prevailed. Even though it was a close game, it did seem we had things in control somehow. It was the first close game inwhile, I was getting used to the blowouts!

@63 footer
I liken the 2010 Championship won against the Celts to some of the wars we had with them in the 80's. Same drama, same high level excitement, and the PRESSURE! Man, thank goodness we won. There are few moments in time when everything is at stake and you are hoping/praying that things go your way, but WOW, what a ride.

This year we seem so good, that if things go our way, it really seems like a Coronation. Our inevitable Crowning takes place in June unless the injury bug bites, or Barnes knocks someone out.

Have a great day everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

Feerless,

The youtube clip has the same title as the thread.

L.A. Times' Mark Medina on Lakers' 98-91 victory over Chicago Bulls

JohnnyV - last year was a satisfying Finals. You can tell because the Celtics still haven't gotten over it.

Last nights blog crew was downright pathetic. Talk about spamming Ouuuchhhh, looks to me like someone needs a high colonic and maybe some herbal tea before he has an anuerysm. It's funny how after a tough win, this a$$hole goes off and makes the blog unreadable. I'm telling you, as the season moves along, he's going to turn into Mike T. I'm with 888, if it was up to me, I would ban him for a week. At least be thankful MM is lenient and fair, because I sure as hell wouldn't be.

That being said, Gasol had a sub par game. Noah are him alive, but I expected as much considering TT is a very good Defensive coach and he has a good team of gritty, scrappy, tough, athletic players. I give total credit to the bulls for the way the game turned out yesterday as they were game to play. They gave the Lakers a gritty game and our boys showed their resilience. Thanks Chicago, I was getting real tired of the sub .500 teams they have been playing and am certainly looking forward to stronger competition next month.

OH SWEET JESUS!!! LMAO!!!

Good Morning ya'll!

Just finished watching the game and we look really GOOD out there. It was a great game against a legitimate playoff caliber team. Rose and Noah kept the Bulls in the game, I admire their hard work out there. Love how the Killer Bs responded back when our lead cut back to like 2 pts I think or was it tied? I forget, sorry for the lack of accuracy.

But overall good game, but is there something wrong with Pau? He didnt look like himself last night. We all know what he can do and he can bang with the big boys when needed, like you know the Finals. It's regular season, he can be semi-soft lol as long as the other guys are doing their job Lakers will be fine. I really do hope we break the Bulls record, it's on my Christmas wish list lol.

JohnnyV - last year was a satisfying Finals. You can tell because the Celtics still haven't gotten over it. Posted by: 63 Footer | November 24, 2010 at 08:37 AM

And that also is satisfying! LOL!

KobeMVP888: ahoy rebuttal to Kobefan was spot on. I'm not quite sure what people expect defensively from the PG position these days. But, this season, so far Fish has been faring far better than average in all of his defensive assignments. Andthe dude's like 80 years old. Defensively, Blake has NOT been an upgrade-well at least not directly. Maybe Fish is better because Blake is breathing down his neck-who knows.

However, I do know that that the dude wouldn't be one of the league leaders in scoring if he could be stopped. So, I guess, if Fish can't do the impossible, we should drop him?

Some people just can't see beyond their own haterism, huh?

Good Monring Mamba24 and Laker Blog Fam,

As Ice Cube said "It was a good day!" I love competition, it brings out the best in the best, and the Bulls/Lakers game was competitive. Noah played great defense on Pau, which is what he will see when the Finals come around next June. Can't wait for Andrew to get back, we need his defensive presence, let's hope he realizes that his defensive presence is what makes the Lakers almost unstoppable!

I'm the cook in my house and we're having 15-18 people over tomorrow and the cooking starts now. See you guys on the Blog Friday and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Last night's game was a nice change from the games we've had lately. Having Chicago hang with the Lakers till the last few minutes made it more exciting. Lakers have been criticized for having a great record since we've been playing under .5 teams. But here's Chicago and we played tough defense, moved the ball, and Kobe.....dang.... masterful performance. The game was a joy to watch (ok, not all of it, but the 4th quarter was superb).

Ok, so Pau had a bad day. Big deal..... He plays well on most games, he gets a free pass once in a while. But that's the beauty of it, Pau AND Kobe could both have bad days and the rest of the team just picks up the slack.

And what can I say about the guy with the Irish chick name... Whooh! Love the Sports Illustrator's article on Shannon Brown - "The Rich Get Richer"..... how true.

Really had fun in the chat room yesterday. Those of you who have never stepped into the chat during games, should try it sometimes. It's like watching a game with your best buds - lots of virtual yelling, screaming, and throwing things around - some are plain out funny, others just plain cranky (I'm looking at you oucccccchhh *grin*) . But all in good fun.

Joakim Noah took Pau Gasol to school in last night's game, I recorded it on my DVR and watched the game again tonight, it was so evident that Noah was just a step quicker getting to the rebound on both ends. He clearly had more energy and intensity than Pau, and he was aggressive down low. There were several encounters when those two were fighting for positions for rebound or post up, Gasol simply got out muscled.

This was the first time I saw Gasol looked like an old man in an Laker uniform. While Noah was looking like a beast making a statement in front of all the Laker fans, Gasol had no desire or fighting spirit, he played like he had a big hangover from previous night.

As for all the "Bynum Hopefuls", I've got this reality check for you morons: don't expect Bynum to play even near the same level he played back in the early '08 season. He will be lucky just run up and down the court without any issues. For those of you that kept saying this "young" center still has time to prove his case. I'll tell you what, Bynum is no longer a new kid in the block. There are at least 10 "young" centers that are playing better than Bynum: Brook Lopez, JaVale McGee, Roy Hibbert, Andrea Bargnani, Andrew Bogut, Marc Gasol, Al Horford, Joakim Noah, Dwight Howard, and Al Jefferson. This lazy scumbag Bynum won't even be able to save his own job.

The equation is simple: Andrew Bynum = Damaged Goods
