Tweetable items on Phil Jackson's pre-game press conference on the Utah Jazz

October 17, 2010 |  7:08 pm

--Lakers Coach Phil Jackson believes "it's possible" the Utah Jazz will improve this season even with the loss of Carlos Boozer

--Jackson expects the Jazz to play hard considering Jerry Sloan's reputation, but he doesn't expect guard Deron Williams to play.

--Jackson says "I will try play everybody," including Drew Naymick.

Jackson said Bryant told him "he felt fine," but he said he wasn't sure if Bryant would play 24 minutes like he did Saturday against the Denver Nuggets

Jackson on Sloan: "Jerry's an animal. He's a dogged guy ... He's had good talent. He never had superior talent, but he's done well with it."

--Jackson says he wants to play Derek Fisher this season under 30 minutes per game.

--Besides Lamar Odom and Steve Blake, Jackson doesn't plan to play any reserves above 20 minutes per game. "It's not how many minutes you play. It's the quality you bring out there on the floor."

--Jackson said that without rookies, the Lakers had Shannon Brown, Jordan Farmar and Adam Morrison handle the rookie duties.

--Jackson credits Devin Ebanks and Derrick Caracter for not acting entitled.
