Poll Question: Who will be the next Laker to get engaged?

49485793Within the last week, both Lakers reserve guards Shannon Brown and Sasha Vujacic showed they're going to compete for coverage in the celebrity gossip pages as well as try to crack the shooting guard spot behind Kobe Bryant. Brown got engaged to pop singer Monica last weekend, while Vujacic on Thursday confirmed his engagement to tennis star Maria Sharapova. At the rate things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if another Laker gets engaged this week, giving Lamar Odom plenty of responsibility to share his advice on what he's done to manage his high-profile marriage with reality TV star Khloe Kardashian.

So who will be the next Laker to tie the knot? Coach Phil Jackson already has plenty of rings -- 11 championships, to be exact -- but will he add a wedding band to his collection after proposing to Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss? Will the next celebrity marriage include forward Pau Gasol and Spanish reality TV star Silvia Lopez Castro? Or perhaps rookies Devin Ebanks and Derrick Caracter will soon find a significant other in Tinseltown?

One thing is for certain: A television executive needs to pitch this as a reality show. After all, Ron Artest has postponed filming his show because he wants to concentrate on the season, so there has to be something to fill the void.

Lew - alright already - I'm acknowledging.... :)

You should have done this:

I am your father
But Bill reminds his son Luke
- PJ's your daddy

LOL! C U L8R

Or - with nod to Jon K - see you later!

There's a weird funky space issue on here today....

MM - wuttup?

This is one of those "Who cares" questions to me. I don't get into their personal lives unless it affects what they bring to my team.

Oh... good evening everybody from enchanting Florence.

About to taste the way my man has cooked dinner for me (hint: any man... better... EVERY outta know that there are very few things that a girl finds sexier than a man able to cook for her. Seriously. ;)), and about to rest after a demanding working week, I come here of course to share warmth with the Best Fam In The World Of Sporty Boards.

It's quite apt that I post under the totally unrelevant, but fashionably funny "engagement thread", and I can solve you all the mistery about these numerous engagements coming to Laker Land.

It's easy (Pau's next, btw...): I GOT THE RING, and I'm a trend setter (boy, my ego is bouncing off... LOL ;) TGIF... lmao!), hence my team is trying to keep up.

Laker Land is a Land where even the poor bench guys can get a cooler piece than they are (btw guys... Sharapova has stopped to be a tennis superstar in 2006... she racks way more than Sasha will ever do though cos she sells products amazingly... so not seeing a trouble for them in their future. Especially cos girl has nose for business ;)), and this speaks well about our inner, undoubted, inescapable shine.

Miami... who?
Anyway, I truly believe Sasha will do well now that is engaged... in a way I'm sure the settling down with a famous one will calm him down enough to get his act together and get back being valuable for the team.

Honestly, I wouldn't rate yesterday great performance of the Lakers as a reason to project marvels (er... Golden State, guys.... it was GOLDEN STATE...) but I see we have so much chemistry in potential, that I just feel good.

I feel good about everything.

Gotta thank htj for his note about me yesterday (it's the best compliment for me... passion in life is everything, it's what can move mountains, and stop water from falling. Everything in life should be passionately lived... otherwise, why bother?) and gotta bow to mclyne in his birthday (we wish you well!!! Whooo!!!) and also gotta congratulate 63 Footer on his RCOTD achievement :)

But since I'm always honest... Oh... there's something that trunked my heart and made it break in the blog today.

I'm speaking to YOU, Mr Blog Himself, YOU... that I dearly hold in my heart, YOU, that rule so graciously and firmly and brilliantly this home for Lakerholics (and sometimes trolls)...

YES, I'm speaking to YOU Mark Medina: why? Why did you do that to me??

JERSEY TRASHORE and LAKERS in a same thread/post/connection????

Do you really want my Italian blood refuse to be pumped in my veins and cause me to faint, and possibly die (no okay... I crossed it a *bit*...)?

Jersey W-or-s are the epitome of what's wrong with (listed after careful survey):

- common taste of people;
- television;
- entertainment;
- advertising;
- general perception of look;
-attitude towards the concept of gross.

Mark!!!! *sigh*... Lakers are the exact OPPOSITE of all that!!!
We are meant to be class.
CLASS.
CLASS!!!!!!!!

See me for a week shaking my head at you.
No okay... see me doing it for this incoming hour though.

Jersey WH---S are garbage.

No way they can be mentioned aside Lakers, not in this universe, nor in a parallel one, nor in anything even remotedly connected with Purple and Gold unless you don't wanna use fake sylicon physical parts to rubber the floor of Staples Center better, those ridiculous hairdos (Amy W. should sue them all) to get the Mr. Clean dry faster over it, and those awfully faced steroided short boys being used as caddies for bringing bottles to our players when they're thirsty (a job that in itself still require more brain cell than they collectively show to have).

End of the rant.

To close this section, take a GOOD kind of Garbage, and the awesomeness that is Shirley Manson:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DI5MuRF0Tk

What else?
Oh, yeah... in preparation of Tuesday night's chat (can't wait!!!) I already created my account for the new chat provider (is it new right?), so that when the alarm clock will wake me up I will be ready and rolling in a no time ;)

It's SEASON starting!!!!

I loved the way Ron Ron is preparing and all that he said about his focus on defensive tasks: he looks and sounds really matured.
I call it the Kobe's Effect.
Kobe's capable of inspiring teammates to achieve his ethic in work.
I mean... Ron truly looks like he's been discipled through Kobe's light.
Sure, it's PJ and the Lakers organization and the fact he's matured on himself but look and hear the way he speaks... there's more than that and I don't think it's all due to his (blessed) psychotherapist :)

Since today is "Lovers Post" (is it?) and I'm particularly keen at the subject, in honor of Sasha and Maria, whose babies will be tall, with great body, kinda MEH face and underachiving in sports (but Sasha could prove me wrong, at least, this year... Maria's career is long gone instead), take this awesome song by this AWESOME band you all should check (they've been recently in Cali actually... when they will be back, really, go check them:

The XX, "Stars":

The mellow sound and the wish to loving patience and passion someway suit my approach at the very start of the season.
Take it easy, but with burning heart: don't get too high too soon, peeps, and the same don't get too low when it doesn't really matter.

Before I forget again, Laker Tom dear... I actually noted a couple of things about the Maroon 5 Greek gigs as I wrote my first post back the other day, and I did just for you... but it doesn't take effort for me to say again that I have witnessed two amazing gigs.
I just love to hear them play... and especially when Karim's with me. Someway we bonded onto them (well... he had to I guess... LOL...).
The acoustic sets especially were what made me adore both gigs (oh, and Jason Segel playing piano the second night, before Adam started to strip and reveal his Lakers shirt ;)... ).
No seriously... for me it's just an emotional thing hearing them play and hearing him sing. There's something in the whole thing that soothes my soul. It's hard to express. I connect and relate in the deepest of ways. And the entire atmosphere of that venue enhanced that all.
To explain better: the set was never particularly long (a regular hour and half); but my system, simply... lives it all out of time elapsing concept. I live their gigs in my own time, like it's an alternate reality: and in that reality, I just FEEL the sound, and I feel well, like in no other occasions.

It happens only with a handful of performers to me, to feel that in synch that I stop time through music, and in fact one other of those, well, I will catch in Milan at the start of November: Mr. PRINCE himself folks. And it's no mystery that Adam worships him too. Someway, the same thing keeps going on there.
For me it's certainly so. ;)

Let's end with one of the songs from Pavement that I love the most, which also indicates the kind of good energy, yet not too conveyed, surely yet not fully entranced, that a start of a sport season should portray:

Pavement, "Roll With The Wind" :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_I_d3XuH7E

And we know our wind is a Golden and Purple caress that will sail our ship to a further ring.

Have a great day, sweet Family.

LLL ;) Z. :)

OH MY GODDNESS!!!!! OUT FREAKIN STANDING GODDESS!!! say what? OUT FREAKIN STANDING GODDESS!!! KUDOS!!!! ZAIRA - THE GODDESS OF FIRE!!! MAGNIFICENT!!!!!

ZairaAmaterasu - weird, I was reading your post, and just as I got to the Garbage part (the good Garbage part), Run Baby Run came on my rotation. Eerie (in a good way).

Now you've made me pull out the Pavement.

Is Matt Barnes still engaged?

MM - it just seems like there's a lack of spacing between comments, between the comment and the poster's name, and within a comment itself... maybe it's just me?

I vote for "G" - none of the above. Not that my vote really matters though...

Zaira: You are on quite a roll today! Don't worry, I think everyone knows that the Jersey Wh*res are representing Jersey and not Italy. Italy is the home to such fine things as Ferrari's, fine wine, great food, one Kobe Bryant - and of course our uniquely marvelous blog goddess!

I always thought that Rick Fox had the greatest catch for a Laker when he married the stunning Vanessa Williams. Lately though, the Lakers have been doing not too bad in the girlfriend/wife department. Pau's spanish girlfriend is beautiful, Maria Sharapova (although past her prime as you point out) is very pretty, Monica looks like a good match for ShamWOW - same for Lamar and Khloe, and even Bynum did very well in dating Rihanna (although I think they aren't dating anymore). I know that Luke dated one of the Big Brother girls for a time. All-in-all, a pretty nice group of spouses/girlfriends.

BTW wrote the first part of this message to XX - Stars song in the background. My wife is home for lunch and heard it, now she wants me to download it for her and put it on her ipod, lol...

Mamba24: Catching up and saw the video for Hitler's take on the governors race - freakin funny. That reminded me of what might be the all-time funniest Hitler vid's, he loves his waffles lol:

justa: When you said there is a space problem in here, I immediately thought of the There Are 4 Lights weird post from last night, alien spacemen on the blog or something... =P

GO LAKERS!!!!!

LOL Cyber - yeah - the invaders from Mars have definitely taken over some minds on here....

I LOVE THIS SONG. I have no idea why I even thought of it...

Justa - Not sure. Let me know if it still persists and then I'll let the web people know. There should be a post within the next half hour so be on the lookout for that

There are 3 things that will determine how this NBA season plays out. I wrote a post for my blog talking about all 3. Here is a direct link to my post: http://pardonmybias.com/nba/a-few-things-to-keep-your-eye-on-this-nba-season.html

It's been a while since I've had the time to sit down and catch up on the blog. Shout outs to all of Lakerville.

Adrian W. of Yahoo Sports has a great take on the new technical foul rules and their enforcement. He is one great and insightful writer and is someone that is secure enough in his position to throw a few bricks in David Stern's direction. Makes for a good read.

Dictator Dave seems to be losing his grip and the respect of the rank and file NBA player. My concern is that he's diluting the game and depriving the fan of the best possible product. Nobody likes the incessant whining of a team like the Celtics, but there has to be some give and take between referees and players. Dave's new directives are just another of his constant power plays. The players should insist on a new commissioner as part of the new CBA. Diva Stern needs to go!!

Phil is never getting married- he's too much of a hippy for it. He's like a wild stallion that will never be tamed. LOL!

@Zaira

Thanks for the kind words and keep the passion filled posts coming- we all appreciate your prose.

As for the Jersey Shore toolbags, don't worry, I am more embarassed for calling myself an American because of those wastes of humanity. We see them as terrible kids from Jersey, and not any kind of representatives from your beloved Italy.

Did Sasha pop the question while still under the influence of his recent concussion?

Can an engagement proposal be annulled?

Or at least withdrawn due to incompetence?
