Jackson still out, Shaw still in charge; Kobe Bryant expected to play

Kobe_250 Lakers Coach Phil Jackson missed his second consecutive exibition game with the flu and for the second game in a row assistant Brian Shaw took over head coaching duties of the team in a game against the Golden State Warriors in Ontario tonight.

Kobe Bryant, who missed Thursday night's game against the Warriors in San Diego to rest the right knee he had surgery on this summer, was expected to start for the Lakers.

Lamar Odom, who is in the best playing shape of any Laker in training camp, will not play against the Warriors because of a swollen left thumb, a swollen nose and a tight back.

Theo Ratliff will not play because of a swollen left knee.

Shaw was the coach in charge again because he scouts the Warriors during the regular season.

Happy Birthday MCLYNE and many happy returns.
@63Footer - Wow! I ain't heard Mahavishnu Orchestra in years...thanks for the memories. I luv'd when Mahavishnu John McGluaghlin and Santana teamed up, that was a great collaboration. Oh Yeah, and luv'd that Junior Murvin clip, too.

Let's go Ls...all the way to a 3-peat!!!!!

Good evening Laker Fam. Been a while since I posted, but rest assure, I have been reading the fabulous comments. MM has been doing a great job.

Lamar will not play because of tight back... just reminds me of my own bad back... been suffering for 2 weeks now. the first few days was awefully painful. I feel better now though.

I was hoping to see Theo today...

Ron looks spry this game...

Kobe is still way off of his playing game... Gasol, is balling. That spin move between 2 defenders was just sick for a big guy.

And Golden State is playing like it is their Championship Game!

I love that Fisher stroke. Soooo sweet... I thought we are in the pre-season ... what's up with Fisher suddenly hitting his treys?
