Fabulous you must learn to be more humble but...Yes, Yes, Yes! You truly are a Shinning Star! LOL! Very nice, Thank You. Carry On.

Jamie Sweet,

I agree with you Sasha has better PG skills than Brown. But that is not all, Brown does more in defense than Sasha and on transition Brown fills up the lane, where Sasha disappears.

Shannon should be the back up to Kobe. Shannon is also the back up to Steve Blake. Sasha is really the odd man out. Yes Sasha does the simple guard skills, but Shannon is needed as a big PG playing against big strong quick Point Guards, like Westbrook, Deron, Rose, Paul, Tyreke.

Fisher/Blake/Brown
Kobe/Brown/Ebanks
Artest/Barnes/Ebanks

Brown will have a bigger role this year. Sasha is only a specialized clutch free throw shooter, I think Shasha, Kobe and Fish is best at this..

Jackson has already said he wants Brown as PG in situations and will back up Kobe at SG, dual role for Brown.

Jackson also said he wants to try Ebanks at SG position.

I just don't see Sasha getting any minutes. It is pretty obvious Brown has gotten better and Ebanks can be very useful, PJ will find playing time for these two, that's hard enough consdiering Barnes and Blake gets the first call off the bench. It will be very difficult to get Sasha in rotation.

It also depends who PJ uses as back up to Odom at PF, if he uses Caracter, Artest will put more time in SF with Barnes and PJ will look elsewhere to play Ebanks.

This is also Sasha's last year with the Lakers that's if he does not get traded during the regular season, meaning there is more incentive to get Brown and Ebanks hone their skills and get familiar playing in the system. PJ is probably thinking he can use these two in the playoffs for defensive purposes, the same way Ariza's defensive quickness and activity had an impact in the playoffs.

Sasha is just very limited due to his athletic ability and if he can't make his shots like last year, he is pretty much no use. Shasha only had to compete with Brown and Farmar for playing time last year, this year it is Barnes, Ebanks, Brown and Blake for 1 2 3 back up positions..

Is it game time yet?

Nothing like a pre-season game jones....are we sick or what?

LRob - congrats on the RCOTD award...fitting your post has something to do with music...well deserved friend...

Lakers Dynasty - The Next Generation...

#17 Coming Up!!!

Happy happy birthday Utz!!!

I'm glad to be here before the boredom will eat me alive and spit me out half dead (translation: I'm about to attend a friggin Rotary Dinner... *sigh* I hate it...), and especially after so many interesting posts.

Gotta thank Larry for that song for me (lovely!!!) and gotta say to phred that Gorillaz DEFINITELY need to be checked: Damon Albarn has got so much better with age than he was while in Blur... he's become purely artistic, without the affected overmanners of many british well-read musicians.
He's on the road to be a new David Byrne or Peter Gabriel, albeit less metaphysical and a tad more hip and funky.

I'm relieved that some of the American taste in music is thought sanely, as you guys comfort me with your posts, because I just read Billboard and learnt that Sugarland (what????) another over lame fake Country act could prevent Kings of Leon from number one and I was about to give up on you.

I won't though.

*sigh*...

I'm really the only one on board that doesn't care about the closeted reasons for which Magic is piling money up?
To me he can do all he wants.
His legendary status won't ever change (well, unless he won't buy the Celtics... but I guess that's truly impossible right?) and maybe he just looks forward a more assured type of business in these tricky days of slumped economy?

Whatever he will do, he's my Magic and our Magic and Lakers are his heart always and forever.

No drama.

I was fascinated by segeboy's post about PJ skills in managing the team... wow, I was agreeing almost on every spoken word there.

About the mystery of triangle, I found really spot on Footer 63's takes, especially when he paired Triangle with Chess game.
It's very accurate.
Triangle is natural in the sense its assumptions of strategic action/reactions depending on the circumstances are the simplest (read: the quickest to be taken in limited optionability) and the most direct, but to master that one gotta learn how to depict essentials on any situation, and get rid of the unessential.

You gotta have projective vision.

Sounds way more difficult than it should, but it's just because other systems teach you how to take into consideration way more variables than those that are essential for your action in the game, which essentially is YOU, two of your teammates, and the space that reaches the target in the quickest (more straight) way.

The reciprocal moves are dependable on the way everyone enlightens the free spaces.

Once you start to watch those kind of open ways to the target, the unessential (other players and out of triangle teammates) should disappear from your vision, action after action.

Gotta be a bit zen to understand this; but once you do, it's pretty easy and "natural" because it easiest the stress out, making the pitch kinda... less crowded, and less menacing.

Chess has the same pattern of strategy at its core; and Chinese Chess even more.

;)

About the fact that Kobe needs time to roll on, I'm not worried.
I trust anything about him, and I also agree that when triangle isn't performing... well, there's always the Kobe Option... which is totally okay with me.

Last year actually we had lots of chemistry problems, even though the team was supposedly roadied a lot.

It's not about chemistry with Lakers... it's that we TRULY start to roll only when things get serious.

Talkin about seriousness....
I am starting to worry about Princess Of The Loser's reactions to the backlash.
I don't wanna him to get a pump in his honor department.
I've said it and I repeat: we need an inflated Princess, not somebody who could find a reason to finally gather himself (and his undeniable natural skills) up to add to it something he never showed to possess, namely... will, and force, and determination (I was ready to use one word only in place of these three, but you get me right?).
LeBron is a whining baby BUT he's a skilled whining one and we don't really want to test what he could do the day that he would feel like he NEEDS for real to show it all (assuming that he has some more than the ZERO he has so far collected in the important department).

We are far superior again (see segeboy's post once more) but there's something sick about building up (way too much) somebody and then trash down (way too much again) that same somebody.

Leave the guy alone. Not because we care, but because this way we keep makin him way more important than he is AND we offer him a reason to will to try to shine for real.

It's a risk that I don't wanna take.

Sincerely.

Celebrating that we are the best and that we still the best and that we will be the best, take this song by Empire Of The Sun , "Walkin On A Dream", which is what we are about to do once again as season starts:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMJjF4LHOkY

Extremely glad that in our Sun and Purple and Gold Empire we have someone as adorable as Ron Ron (awwww my kitty kitten... ;)), because the guy is one in a million and every time more I adore him more.

Love his genuine open mind, his totally off sense of fashion (argh!!!!! ;)) and his total belongin in a category apart from all the rest.
You feel how grateful he is to be where he is at now, after a life that hasn't always been nor easy nor fun.

Gosh... I LOVE this guy.
Utterly.

I leave you with a song that I completely love.
I have always loved (of course) the original version of Al Green, then my adored Seraphine decided to start to cover it up live, and started doing it at Howard Stern show in September.

Think it fits the way this blog should feel about our Lakers and one another.

Take "Let's Stay Together", by my adored Adam (the sound isn't polished because it's from radio BUT I will create myself a Youtube video in a while with it...)

Have all a wonderful wonderful day.

My evening is about to turn bore *thanx* to a mass of old people faking world-universal-care and just interested, instead, in comparing how rich they are frontin one another.

I hate fake people... and there it seems championship of Fakers instead (save my daddy, of course.)

LLL my fam :)

WOW! What a day!! We've had a visit from a Goddess, an Angel and a Saint!!! Now all we need is a post from EastCoastJessie and we will have a post from a Princess...that is of course unless the other Princess...JImmy Posts!

Okay, I'm changin' my vote for next Lakers coach (after Phil goes for 4 more rings) to ZairaAmaterasu, after reading her superb interpretation of the Triangle.

Plus, she'd be the first European NBA coach... which only adds to the globalization of basketball. I think it's a lock.

I always liked the Blur stuff (or, at least the Parklife CD) and his Elastica bud Justine's work. I remember running into Damon in Iceland when I was working up there. Very nice guy - we got blotto drunk as I recall (or at least I did).

I am dumb... And rude!
I write this from iphone as I reach Rotary doom (np: AcDc Highway to Hell ;)...) because I forgot to congratulate LRob on RCOTD. And this is double sinful, I mean me being late there, because he even likes my Babies!!!
Pouring ashes all over my head...

Thanx also to Larry & Footer 63 but I'm not even a hundreth zen enough to be mentioned in the same sentence that embodies "PJ" and/or "Lakers coach".
U are adorably cute though :)

Hugs ;)

(retires in the doom of the boredom reign of pretentious old fakers)

;) LLL <3

justanothermambafan,

you wrote: Nothing like a pre-season game jones....are we sick or what?

my response: There was a song some years ago .... "basketball jones"

:)

Can I get an Amen for NBA League Pass?

@Hobbit.
No Amen Yo, League pass price has been raised $20 this season. Grrr Darth Stern... And even better, Miami Meat away tickets are 50% more expensive than Lakers tix-WTF? Not that I want to pay more for the LakeShow but wow.
Sweet picture of Kobe btw MM.

Zaira - I love your passion.

I get pretty lost after that.

@MAMBA… Add me to Utz’s Happy Birthday Bandwagon. A Banner Holder’s Birthday, Utz.
~~~~~~~~~~~
@COFM99… That’s a trusting Lakers fan. I am surprised you survived walking around Boston in your purple and gold while the Celtics get ousted in Finals. I still remember the onslaught of fist fights at Yankee Stadium when the Dodgers beat the Yankees in the 1981 (?) World Series. Angry Yankee fans were on the lookout for anybody wearing Dodger Blue. There were even fights on the subway going back to Manhattan.
~~~~~~~~~~~
@Zaira… I never heard how your Maroon 5 concerts went. I just love the Greek Theater for concerts. Lots of grand memories of warm summer nights with everybody high on the music and marijuana fog hovering over Berkeley. Hope it was all as great as you were wishing for.
~~~~~~~~~~~
TOM
AndTheJellosJigglin - thanks. yeah i thought the pic was definitely unique
GGGGGGGame Day!!!! (so what it it's preseason)
Happy Birthday Utz!
Good Day everyone else.
I think I've come to a conclusion in reading the Real Laker Girl Posts:
Though I really can't top the perfection that is Mrs. Rancher: If I was young, good looking, and single:
Justa would be the RLG to watch the Lakers with.
Zaira would be the RLG to listen to talk about the game. (she even writes with a wonderful accent :)
ECJ would be the RLG I want representing me when I'm charged with a Laker related offense (a lawyer who understands lakerholism)
Jamie Sweet, LakerLady, LakerLass, and J24 are the RLG's I would most like to watch take a troll's lunch money and make him cry. They also have a wonderful way with words.
If I missed any of our wonderful RLGs, it's cuz I'm not young and can't remember.
...And the congregation says?
JR
hobbit - you only get an 'amen' from me if you start posting more often like you used to. What's going on? You saving it for the regular season? LOL!
Kudos LRob for RCOTD. I think the Ron Artest app will be entertaining. I would install it but I have a blackberry and I'm reluctant to get an iPhone because of a. how expensive the plans are and b. too many dropped calls
Happy Birthday UTZ- may the banner holder live forever!
Justa, you are a Shining Star! EWF is the stuff!
Hobbit-
AMEN
