It'll be interesting to see how Kobe performs at Staples in this weekend's shoot-out against the Nuggets & Jazz. I'd like to see Phil continue to ration his minutes to no more than 20-22 per game and for Kobe to continue to running the court well. Hopefully we'll see a nice little upturn in his shooting percentage.

OMG! Update on Sun Yue!
In a recent "friendly" between China and Brazil, things get a little heated, and a brawl breaks out. At first our boy Sun tries to play peacemaker, but ends up stomping out some Brazilian at about 1:40 into the video. Nice work Sun! On a side note, I thought the Brazilians would be a lot tougher. They come out of this looking like a bunch of ______ (fill free to fill in the blank).

Candidly, it makes no difference whatsoever what he does in these scrimmages. All that matters is that he is healthy in April, May and June. Hopefully, the added veteran depth and an improving Shannon Brown will help limit Kobe's minutes this season so that he's well rested for the playoffs. There's nothing interesting about the pre-season other than watching a little basketball. When Phil Jackson was asked before last game what he was looking forward to, he deadpanned: "The opening tip and the final buzzer." (or something to that effect). Personally, I'm more interested in the Lincecum-Halladay match up and the Yankees this weekend, of course. The NFL also takes priority. I don't mean to be a buzz kill, but we have to keep this marathon in perspective because it's very easy to get all caught up in minutiae during the long, drawn out 82 game practice season, no less these pre-season scrimmages. Let's just stay healthy!

Obviously you're right 888 about the bigger picture...I guess I was speaking somewhat selfishly only because I scored some free tickets to Saturday night's game and would love to see everyone play as much as possible.

I'm not a big fan of watching a group of giants stomp some guy when he's down on the ground. That is remarkably cowardly.
None of those toolbags in Jefe's video know how to fight.
What do we play for? RINGS!!!
Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

CRY ME A FREAKIN RIVER, PAULA! If you're gonna be haunted by anything, pumpkin, be haunted by all those gotdarn missed buckets from midway through the 3rd quarter through the final buzzer.

Rondo, get me some tissue! KG, stop teasing!

@LEWSTERS…“Laker Tom - Heck I'll try to show up for the Nor Cal Council Meeting...can a former So Cal boy, and present Vegas guy attend...” Lew, that would be great. I’ll make sure to keep you in our plans. Is there a game on the TV schedule that makes sense for you as far as travel and works goes? If so, let me know since we are still in the planning stage. Anybody else heading for SF for a holiday or something, let us know.

@LEWSTERS… Wore my Lakers hat to work today along with business casual outfit. Looked sharp. I think the Yankees are going to sweep Texas even though they have home court advantage. What a screwed up rule for the Yankees to have a better regular season record by 5 games but Texas to get home field.

Ron, selling your ring will be a HUGE mistake....

@ LEWSTRS - hello manong kamusta??? I attended a wedding in London and decided to take a mini vacation glad I was able to see the Lakers play...You should come to Nor Cal and meet with us...bring your family with you we can hang out with Mr. & Mrs. LakerTom.

Kobe is rehabbing. Not in game shape. Not working on game shape. Rehabbing. His game by game results are less than meaningless right now.

Most players would simply have sat out the first few pre-season games and worked at rehab. Kobe being Kobe, he has been out on floor playing. If he is 3-79 shooting, it doesn't matter. He's just getting some work in, playing some ball to get the feel back (on both ends). When the time comes and the bell rings, Kobe will get his shot ready.

The KobeWatch will start soon, blowing his poor pre-season shooting out of proportion (making it a 10 on a scale of 10 when it is a zero). As Shaq might say, he'll make 'em when they count.

Just wondering is it just me, are does anyone else has concern regarding the backup center position. Depending on Drew to remain healthy the remainder of the season once he return is really risky. We have a $ish load of forwards, is Erik Dampier still available? JUST WONDERING

Great day today, Lakers will beat the nuggets tomorrow, I'm back home and Balloon Boy is safe and sound.

Colorado loves our World Champion Lakers!

Jefe101 - great stuff...thanks for the vid...good to see Sun Yue is still playing, even only in the CBA...

Oh please give the research dept the rest of the day off...:)

Mamba24... I agree with you, MJ is a tool. Says if he were to play today he'd get 100 pt games. Also in [email protected]/lakers.. he says he'd put Kobe in the top 10 gaurds and then you go thru and he's not even on the list. He has AI and Wade on it. AARRGGGG, I think he's jealous of Kobe.

If you're ever back in the CO, let me know!

@IHEARTKB24… Speaking of hanging out. This is ONE busy weekend. I have Yankees ACLS games on Friday and Saturday, Giants NCLS games on Saturday and Sunday, Lakers vs. Nuggets on Sunday, and Niners vs. Raiders on Sunday. Try fitting all of these in with Saturday morning CYO basketball tryouts and meetings to finalize rosters for the fifth grade boys team that I am going to coach plus the fact that Mrs. Laker Tom and I are in charge of taking care of our two granddaughters Saturday and Sunday. And somehow, I need to fit in a haircut and a few hours in closing company books for our fiscal year which ended on 9/30. LOL, I will need a clone or have to learn how to become LROB and forget about sleeping. Too much to do in too little time.

I think he's jealous of Kobe. Posted by: NewMexicoLL | October 15, 2010 at 02:11 PM
LOL, The poor man! It's really sad. Put Kobe in the top 10 huh? So I guess after Kobe wins his 6th Ring this season and ties MJ, Kobe can put MJ in HIS top 10. Why can't the guy have a lil class? Anyways you take care and have a wonderful weekend and I got my fingers and toes crossed for those Vikes!!

Rondo, get me some tissue! KG, stop teasing! Posted by: utzworld - THE BANNER HOLDER | October 15, 2010 at 01:23 PM
BANNER HOLDER will please stop teasing those pitiful creatures. It's cruel to tease them after whipping their behinds when they know if they even dare step foot in the Finals again we will whip their behinds again. It must haunt their every waking moment!
