Tweet of the Day: "I asked Stern if he's sitting down with Dr. Buss and saying we're taking your hard earned money - Stern all but said yes" -- EricPincus (Hoopsworld's Eric Pincus)

Reader Comment of the Day: "What a great story. Ron Ron has such a great heart, he's become such a key figure on the Lakers, it's only been a year, but I can't even imagine the Lakers without him. He brings so much to the team, even more than his lock-down defense and clutch plays, he brings a passion, a lovable wackiness and an off-beat flavor that is 2nd to none. They say character is built, well Ron Ron has gone through so much, has lived so fully, that he has built remarkable character. I'm just so happy that he's wearing purple and gold, hope he never leaves and he retires as a Laker." -- CyberCosmiX

--Jason of Beverly Hills explains in the video below how the Lakers' championship ring was made.

CyberCosmiX - congrats on the Friedman Award. Well said!

The Tweet of the Day is really, really, really scary when you think about it.

Said Bryant:

“If you’re a part of this team, you become a brother of mine. It’s as simple as that.”

THE DREADED RE-POST (aka, How I Stole Justa's Powers)

Give the ring back? I'd auction it off again and raise money for yet another charity. Maybe this ring can become the first ever perpetually-auctioned item in the history of auction items. Shoot, in the next five years, I'll bet that Ron's ring could raise $5M for various charities. The ring that keeps on giving!

There's no reason to give the ring back to Ron. He doesn't want it back. He wants a new ring, and he'll get it.

Go Lake Show!

RCOTD = CYBERCOSMIX = OUT FREAKIN STANDING SIR!!! KUDOS!!!

Good evening Blog Fam!!!
I'm really strict on time today (we start Halloween celebrations today and I'm writing while I get elaborate make up on), and all has flown away to read all of your comments and of course the ones of the Master Of Blog, who gets better and better everyday (Go MM!!! ), but I couldn't skip a small post.

First thought, of course is for Rick. Another day goes on the road of your recovery dear and we are all here to support you with our love as much as we do the same for supporting the Lakers.
Go win for yourself, your beloveds and also us. We do care.

Second thought it's a congratulation basket of flowers and cookies for CyberCosmiX and his honorable RCOTD :) Excellent one I must say.

I certainly admire Ron and love his total uniqueness... I find amazing what he's doing.
Guy is a diamond and not even raw.
We LOVE you Ron and don't worry: another ring comes this year.

I appreciated all music suggestions, and I'm happy GDUB enjoys Bjork as much as me: she's a creative creature with stellar inspiration and that kind of peculiar voice that captures my senses and fantasies.

I won't quote Sun Tzu again ;) but all I want to say is that we shouldn't really track what other teams do in the East: all big teams will see up and downs and we just have to hope the up and downs don't show them the way to heal their wounds for the best, or they don't get inspired on how to fix cracks.

I still think the best flattery for them, the best income for us: when people are forced to work over their troubles, they generally get better.

But in teh end.... for me it's "whatever":as I said, I care only about US. If we do our thing... Bye Bye everyone: Catch us if you can, except that... well, YOU CAN'T. ;)

Lamar and Kobe will be okay. No doubts.

I leave you with a cheesy song... it's Halloween time for 4 days for me and so expect lots of stuff like... kids would love to hear.

Ray Parker Junior, Ghostbusters, from the movie.
It's us chasing off all those trying to take what isn't and won't be theirs: OUR incoming RING :

See you tomorrow guys.

LLL always, Z. :)

i was thinking the same.

Pls send my best wishes to the ricker on a speedy recovery

And Lrob.. U were talkin bout fantasy bball in a previous thread.. I see ur a seasoned fantasy vet.. I'm a fantasy addict myself for years and its so much work its like havin an extra child in the family.. But u mentioned ur in fantasy league w blitz and MM and playing daily format? That's nuts.. Tried it but our league switched to weekly and a lot easier. But would be interested in seeing all ur lineups esp MMs one day to see what kind of GM skills u all have. Lol... I'm betting blitz doesn't own bynum.. Had him the last 2 seasons actually drafted him early too but will never own him again.

Oh u probably know this but the best fantasy website of all time is rotoworld.. We're talkin up to the minute updates and I'd even recommend the 14.99 season pass if ur really addicted

CyberCosmiX - Congrats on RCOTD!

CCX, nice work on RCOTD - couldn't agree more. I have come full circle of Ron Artest he is pure id - no pretenses, no filters - pure heart. He has become such an important part of this synergistic puzzle that are the 2010-2011 Lakers. I almost can't imagine this team without him, to be perfectly honest.

ANY ONE WNAT SOME OF THIS MONEY, IN IF YOU WANT SOME COME ON IN GET SOME

Rasheed Hazzard after being overlooked by Tanter on ring night, wonder what his feeling about the oldman PA are now? I don't think it was an oversight, he could have corrected it.

Outlaw - WTH???? I worked hard for those powers. Nobody can come in and just take them from me without fear of repercussion.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

ROTFLMAO!!!

Congrats Cyber!! I agree with your post 100%.

I LOVE RONRON!!!!!!! LAKER FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!

Hey all, like I said yesterday...

If I win the ring, I'm starting a monthly raffle for participation elgible for every California (I said nationwide, but I think we should keep it in state since the Lakers are here) school. Whoever wins the raffle gets to display it at their school for 1 month. All the money goes towards funding behavioral medicine for kids. When the amount of money raised every month falls below a certain level, I'm going to package the ring up and send it back to Ron.

Add me to the list!

IF YOU WIN , GIVE THE RING BACK TO RON AGAIN – BANDWAGON

(01) CYBERCOSMIX - OWNER - Why don't all of us here on the blog pledge that if we win, we
would do just that? If so I'm in.
(02) JON K. CO/OWNER - I am officially starting the "Give Ron Artest Back His Ring Bandwagon!"
I will buy raffle tickets and if I do win Ron Artest's ring. I will proudly give it back to him in
exchange for a day hanging out with him at Magic Mountain. GIVE RON ARTEST HIS RING BACK!
(03) LAKER MIKE – DRIVER - Can we get the Bandwagon going? Can we share the joy? Is it
really all about the love? This is what we play for, right?!?
(04) JUSTANOTHERMAMBAFAN – RIDING SHOTGUN1 - I'm in. If I win the ring Ron gets
it back (with the few exceptions so noted). LOL
(05) MAMBA24 – RIDING SHOTGUN2 - when I win it what will I do with it. Come on, you
already know that I will make Ron, Ron sign an agreement not to ever give away his Rings
again and I will then give it back to him. No request for tickets or autographs or ISH. OH I
will make one request, I will tell him when he see's Princess Jimmy....
(06) MCLYNE – RING SECURITY - cannot think of anyone else that's been in the public eye
who has literally done a 180 degree turn, for the better, in his/her life. Artest has gone from a
complete lunatic, to an upstanding human being who thinks of other's welfare before his own.
I was very skeptical at first of his turn around in a few short years, but he is literally proving myself
and all of his other doubters wrong! God bless Ron Artest and his family! He really is a
TRUE WARRIOR! NOBODY DESTROYS RON ARTEST! Please add me to th

AHHH! DENSITY AT LAST!!!

@Fabulous J, Ricks' Bandwagon is about finished on the prior Thread.

Mamba24 - yes I saw that. Thank you so much!

I'm sending Rick snippets from the bandwagon in emails to his Blackberry. I'm sure we're all making his day a little bit brighter!

(Speaking of snippets - where's my friend hobbit???)

Good Morning Mamba24.... PLEASE put me on the Ron Bandwagon! I saw Larry King last nite and my heart was pounding and Praying for Ron to be able to express himself. I was so PROUD of that young man and what he has gone thru. A father at 14, and still with his wife. That is to be admired. He said ALL the right things and I think even Larry King was impressed. I am so very proud that he is part of the Laker family.
Justa.. WTH? No Justa for RCOTD!! Any update on Rick? And Mamba24, good luck with your Bears on Sun. I'm afraid the Vikes have shipwrecked!!LOL

Guys I don't know how to put the sites up for favorite songs, but I loved Lionel Richies "Three Times A Lady" Also in my day we were Twisting with Chubby Checker on American Bandstand. Those were the days!!

The Outlaw,
-
No, it should become a game between Laker Nation and True Warrior (aka Thriller).
-
Ron RAFFLES off his ring. We (I) win the ring. We (I) give the ring back to Ron. Ron spends a day with Laker Nation at Magic Mountain. Ron then raffles off the ring again. We (I) give it back to him again. Ron spends a day with Laker Nation at Knott's Berry farm. Ron the raffles off the ring again...
-
It's a perpetual charity machine and we help the local economy by spending money at local amusement parks. It's really a win-win situation for everyone.
-
What do we play for? RINGS!!!
-
Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.
-
GO LAKERS!!!

For all those who found themselves rooting for the Celtics for the first time in their life and feeling dirty about it afterwards...

I'm secretly rooting for the Cavs this year. I posted something during the summer when everyone was writing them off now that Lebron is gone regarding my feeling that they were going to be decent. Last night they beat the Celtics sans Lebron. If they do well, I think it would further diminish Lebron's reputation as such a valuable player, would it not? No one doubts that he's a great athlete, but people in the media were saying he's worth 40 games - that the Cavs would only win 20 games without him. I'm hoping they prove that wrong, especially with the help of our old friend Byron Scott.

Mamba24, good luck with your Bears on Sun. I'm afraid the Vikes have shipwrecked!!LOL Posted by: NewMexicoLL | October 28, 2010 at 11:41 AM

Good morning NewMexicoLL. How are you this wonderful day before another Laker game morning. If you think the Vikes are shipwrecked, how about those Bears? I think I told you when they still had a perfect record that they would fall apart and the falling apart has commenced. While the Vikes wil not make the playoffs, I believe they will finish ahead of the Bears. LOL!

Hey guys, I've been gone for a while and thought it would be too much to try to catch up. I might have to go back though to see what happened to Rick. Some kind of health problem? Well my prayers go out to you Rick, I sincerely hope you're up and well soon.

Ah, give the Ring back, well, ah, after I cherish it for a while I guess. You know how I am about my Rings, ha, ha! Isn't Ron great!
