Poll questions regarding the Lakers' 2010-2011 season

By now I have analyzed a litany of preseason topics: Andrew Bynum's knee, Kobe Bryant's right index finger, Pau Gasol and Bryant's off-season rest, Lamar Odom's experience with Team USA, the Lakers' off-season acquisition and whether this will actually be Phil Jackson's last season. I also talked to some experts, including former Lakers Magic Johnson and Michael Cooper, about the team's chances of three-peating. But now it's time to hear from you in a series of polls after the jump. I will then analyze the results in an upcoming post.

Next blog poll question: Going into a dark alley, which blogger would you rather have by your side ? And which one would you hope is NOT hiding in that dark alley ready to ambush you?

My vote's for phred - both questions. LOL!!!!

LRob- no worries. I like Edwin, how could I mind if you like Edwin? Edwin just doesn't like me. Maybe it's like when you pick on that girl you secretly like in third grade. Maybe Edwin has a crush on me. Ok, maybe not.

PS To LRob- just as long as nobody's ear gets cut off, we should be okay.

justa- Um, thanks?

It's cool, it's take a shot at phred night. Maybe someday I'll get my own Lakers Blog roast.

phred - I blame myself. If only I had not thought I was so damn funny. If only there was a font for that.... If only I had not mentioned Kwame's calves - or even Switzerland for that matter. Then you'd be soundly sleeping in your bed - visions of swiss chocolate and/or nazi gold dancing with the stars in your head....

Then again, it could have been those chili peppers in your omelet.....

So, does anybody have anything to keep an insomniac, South Dakotan, guerilla blog moderator entertained tonight?

Ok, quick poll; If there was a blogger you were cool with making fun of you would it be a)justa or b) justa? Ok, Fatty and Rick get theirs, too.

justa- I think it was getting called into work this morning at like 6:45 when I thought I wasn't scheduled until 2:00, then drinking a lot of coffee to keep me going since I went to bed fairly late last night. The chili might show up later, and give me interesting dreams.

Actually, I didn't eat very much chili, it is still simmering. Chili is a multi day project for me. The ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, cheese and hot sauce omelet could have interesting results. Dang, it was good though.

They laughed when I bid $12 on a bag full of jalepenos, poblanos, and green bell peppers, but I'm going to enjoy suffering through every single one of them.

Should get me to training season, I hope.

Oh.

Damn, I know I missed several people. Who was it that brought this up and said there was a Lakers bar in the Sunset that would be a good spot. Cut and paste and add your name if you are a Bay Area Lakers fan. Once we get the list, we can then start planning a few get togethers during the season. That would be a blast.

I was the one who mentioned the Laker bar in the Sunset.

phred - you're welcome. LOL!!! Just messing with you, my friend. But that blog roast thingy is a great idea. Although it would pretty much be just another normal day around here. Except without the free food.

phred - I've got nothing. No Laker historical perspective. No music marathon. I think I'll watch an episode of MadMen. I'm on season 2. It's okay but I was expecting better. You can always read some more Royko. It'll keep you entertained...and keep your sarcasm razor sharp. Although watch out for Daley's son. He's been known to settle a few scores.

Phred
this one's for you. Whenever I get a little fed up I roll out this classic

OK Edwin, so you don't like Kurt Streeter because he is anti-Laker.
But then you realize he is pro-Lakers, but shows his pro-Laker stance by ridiculing Laker fans so now you don't like him because of that.
It's hard to win in Edwinland isn't it?

LRob - now you have me laughing.

Was that game the "most courageous moment" in sports? More courageous than Shun Fujimoto doing the rings in the '76 Olympics with a broken knee and had to stick the dismount or his team would lose the gold?

Seriously (and I believe it was this game), I think this was the one where Magic had, and I quote: "Explosive diarrhea and flu-like symptoms." Lakers were wearing the yellow shorts, and if anything went wrong, basically, Magic would have lost ALL his sponsors. Seriously. Yellow shorts! Going out on the floor that way and playing... more courageous than a broken knee.

That, my friend, is true valor.

Oh, man - now I know it's the cold medicine.

KobeMVP888,

Good to hear from you today. I like your reply to Troy's summation. I'm pondering your comment on Bosh being a stretch 4. I don't know if I would classify him as such. Please elaborate.

Posted by: LRob | September 22, 2010 at 09:47
=====

When I have seen him play, he's most effective from mid-range, much like KG. The difference is that KG got stronger with time and became a much better defensive player with time. You'll recall in his earlier days, KG would play the small forward position on Western Conference all-star teams. Bosh has played on pretty much run and gun teams with the Raptors which has inflated both his scoring and rebounding numbers (more possessions). He's very thin, too. Even Lamar has more bulk than him now. Bosh stretches the floor because he has that sweet 18 footer from the top of the lane and even the baseline, but he just isn't a banger from what I've seen. He is not a back to the basket, post up type of player, much preferring to playing facing the basket. With Pat Riley as his inevitable coach this season, I can see him being miserable being asked to bang, post up and defer. Don't get me wrong, he's a phenomenal talent, but he's going to have to learn how to sacrifice, even more than the other two. He'd rather play more like Rashard Lewis than Kevin Garnett if given the choice, if that makes any sense.

63 Footer - LOL - Magic...explosive diarrhea....yellow shorts... no stains.

Judging from that YouTube clip, Paula 'poo poo' Pierce could have used the secret to that....

LakerTom-
I really think it's a bit premature to discuss a Laker-Heat finals. While the Heat may get there someday, it won't be this year, and may not be till after Kobe's gone. I think they're gonna get knocked out before the finals.

Let me expand on that little scenario from my earlier post. Let's say they are in game 3 of a series tied 1-1. Wade tries to lead them back in game 3, but they lose. Now, let's say Lebron say's its only one game they got the next one. now let's say they tie it up in game 4, but in either game 5 or 6 they lose in the same fashion. Now it's down to game 7. No more "we'll get the next one". It's win or go home. Now let's say the game is close late in the 4th quarter. What's Lebron gonna do? Will he really trust Wade to get it done? Or will he decide it's time for him to take over, screw what they've been doing so far? If he does that, how does Wade respond? Once they hit some adversity, Unless Wade really takes over and Lebron really doesn't mind, I expect them to fold.

The key, to me, is their role players. I think that Wade, James, and Bosh can figure it out in a year or two, but they still would need the right pieces around them. Like a post presence for example. But with the CBA being renegotiated next summer, there's no guarantee that they will be able to get the right pieces. Will there be a mid level exception? We just don't know how it's gonna play out.

KobeMVP888,

I agree Bosh is more of a face up mid-range guy, although he can play back to basket. I like the younger KG analogy. Bosh is probably more skilled and aggressive.

The reason I asked is because when I think of a stretch 4 I think of a guy who stretches defense out to 3pt line. You mentioned Rashad Lewis. He's the prototype stretch 4 IMHO. Or maybe a younger Dirk (since he's really cut back on his 3's). I would also throw Frye, Harrington, Murphy, Jamison & Ilyasova into that group.

Then there's the whole other group of stretch 5's....Okur, Bargnani.

So yes I agree that Bosh is more finesse than power, but I guess it just a matter of semantics with the "stretch 4". He definitely will have sacrifice and do more dirty work with the Heat. That was the problem with his Toronto team. Him and Bargnani are both finesse players.

Was that game the "most courageous moment" in sports? More courageous than Shun Fujimoto doing the rings in the '76 Olympics with a broken knee and had to stick the dismount or his team would lose the gold?

Lol guys, it's been great talking to yall tonight, but it's time for me to go to bed.

Goodnight, give me something good to read when I get up in the morning.

phred, i can bring over a hammer if you need me to.

My guess is that Ron already regrets shooting off his mouth off
(his heart speaking) about donating his ring to charity, but I have an idea.

Let's see now...hmmm

Total Laker fan, law school, CFO, Marin County...yes, that's it.

Let's start the 'Laker Tom will reclaim the ring for Ron bandwagon!!!'

Good idea Sonny!
(I kind of like that Cookie Monster, third person stuff, except that I'll expand it to include talking to myself)

Go Sacramento Kings of Basketball! (We will sneak up and pounce)

Go Niners! (Three more losses this season. That'll be it)

Go Giants! (Half-a-game out. Need some hitting)

Go Manny, go!

USC (It doesn't matter. We know they will choke aynyway, don't we?)

Go Boise!
 (The whole package)
Go Nevada Wolfpack! (They gotta quarterback)

Fred sed,

'I think getting upset at me is like getting upset at the village idiot...'

Now that we have that clarification, I think I'll be nice.

But what did you say earlier?
You love Justa's Man?
I know it wasn't stated in the possessive, but this afterall,
is an Angelino board...so I was wondering.

(And Justa, what do you think about Fred loving 'you man'?)

'Hey, the chile and the omelet were good, if anybody was wondering'

I was actually.

'This is the LATimes blog, it isn't my living room'

Great, because I don't know if I'd want to be in the same room with you
right now. Concocted with the air you're ordinarily forced to breathe down there, it must be one sweet cocktail floating around your head about now.

But you know Fred, Jesus is not happy if you fib. He thinks you need to lighten up just a tad, too.

Go Kings!

Matchup versatility is one of the greatest strengths the Lakers have. Lakers can match the Celtics all time defensive superiority the Heat cannot. Bynum is a key to Laker's defense that would be disrupted if he is traded for Melo. The Lakers are stacked at SF & PF but not at Center, particularly on defense. If Melo can be had for Odom & Sasha that might work but Odom is a better defender and needed against Celtics/Miami/Magic/OKC! Suggest Lakers pass on Melo, a great offensive player. Melo can help Knicks/Nets vs Celtics & give Lakers home court for finals!

'He's like a giant kid, with a good heart. I think he probably didn't fit in too well at his previous stops and was always judged to be a bad-dude after the Malice in the Palace episode'

You have the Sacramento Kings to thank that Ron is even playing in the NBA, much playing for the Lakers. Even with a few more indescretions, we loved Ron and saw his worth as a person, and supported him. Ask him. He has nothing but praise for Kings fans, and the organization. Go Testes! I'm happy for him, as are most Kings fans.

The entire world (outside of Angelinoville) is more than accustomed to the Angelino requirement to take credit for everything that's wonderful and good.
Go ahead. It's OK. We understand that you need to.

In Sacramento, he was popular, but there was no way that we would win a championship, or even make the playoffs with him.
We were starting our rebuild and knew he wouldn't or couldn't be a part of it.
For us, he was a gap-fill to sell tickets, which he did. Mission accomplished.

I just wonder how popular he'd be in in the Southland right now, had you not won the championship?

Really no need to wonder at all, is there?

Go Kings!
Go Niners!
Go Giants!
Go Manny, go!
Go Boise State!
Go Nevada Wolfpack! (Now, that's a quarterback!)

I was a Dodger fan even longer than I was a Laker fan, both for many years.

Both are storied sports franchises.

But I think the most storied of all franchises in the greater L.A. area
is your NFL team, the,,,the,,,woops.

Anyway, much too rough a sport for the soft, nanny souls on this board...
so you don't like football...that's OK. I like dancing ball (futbol) too!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey, most of you need to get clear about something, right now.

The Miami Heat have 2, count them, 2 mega-superstars on their team, and the third, who may end up benefitting and shining the most, is a perennial All-Star. The supporting cast ain't too shabby either.
The coach has been there, and done that, and knows what they are aiming for.

It will take them all of 20 games to figure it out, if that, and they will probably win 15 or more of those.

It will take all of 20 games to get it figured out, if that.

20 games and they are sizzling!

Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.

The Lakers need to focus on winning the west, or they won't even get to compete for the big prize. Sad maybe, but oh so true.

Go Kings!
Go Niners!
Go Giants!
Go Manny, go!
Go Boise State!
Go Nevada (fine lookin' QB)

Greetings Lakeshow Fans,

Nice to be back on the blog amongst all loyal Lakers fans.

Hmmm...I thought the Celtics were done making silly EXCUSES after their loss to LA in Game 7 THREE MONTHS AGO. Well...courtesy of YahooSports a few days back...

The Celtics added O’Neal to give depth to their frontcourt. Boston center Kendrick Perkins(notes) hurt his right knee midway through the first quarter of Game 6 of the finals and was sidelined for Game 7, when the Lakers clinched their second straight championship.

Since then, Celtics head coach Doc Rivers has said the Lakers still haven’t beaten the Celtics at full strength. Pierce agrees.

“We reloaded this year,” Pierce said. “We added some more pieces— Jermaine O’Neal(notes), Shaquille O’Neal, a couple other pieces—so he was right. Hopefully we can get to the finals this year healthy. We’ll have the opportunity to win a championship.”

What's MISSING in the COMMENT? Hmmm...Here's a possibility.

PP: "We also added a WHEELCHAIR for precautionary measures and a motivational book for our "humble" Celtics team to read called, 79 WAYS TO APPRECIATE 83: A MEMORABLE 2010 NBA Finals GAME 7 EXCUSE.

Folks, nothing like EXCUSES, especially from the 2008 champs. PP and his boys, including Coach Rivers, should have accepted their demise in 2010 just as our Lakers did in 2008. It's the FACTUAL thing to do....

Like I always say, Laker pride through ALL and ANY ADVERSITY!

My apologies for the triplicate. Mark, please delete the extras.
Technical matter...I think.

Sonnybelfast

Then again, it's OK to leave them on the board, like you did the last time I asked you to delete some of my extras.

Thank you

I think your level of maturity and self absorption makes you a perfect fit right here, Fred, with the rest of us. I think too, that having a conversation about another person while that person is standing within ear-shot in the same room (your living room) is cool too.

And it’s very telling, don’t you think?

But you have brought to mind some fond memories.
The crush I had on that little hottie in the third grade.
Eventually, we made babies.

Maybe someone’s got a little crush here, and I don’t think it’s Edwin.
Is it Edwin?

It’s all good, because I think the possibilities are endless in Hollyweird.

Go Kings (I just hope and pray that when Andrew goes down for good this season, it isn't at the hands of my Cuz)!

Go Niners (49-ers 31, Chiefs 13)
Go Giants!
Go Manny, go!
Go Boise State (total football)!
Go Nevada!

Sonnybelfast

OK...I'm out of here for a few days. Have at it girls. And tell your boys not to work too hard in training-camp. We want them good and rested.

When they run out of steam this season, even I will be embarrassed if it happens before February.

Sonnybelfast

Oh, just one more thing. I know you don't mind.

Chris Bosh is accustomed to having nothing but the top defenders go against him. Until now, he's always been the man.

At Miami, he'll face the third (or at best, the 2nd) best defender on any given team.

The prospect is scary. Agreed?

Go Kings!
Go Niners!

Posted by: Troll Man | September 22, 2010 at 10:28 PM
********************************************************

I already slept after I responded to Justa so I did not read the succeeding posts. Since you, Trollman quoted an archive with a silly comment that if you are fed up of me to keep being reminded of this classic, then I believe it is fair to present my side of the story why that comment was raised.

Kurt Stutcher is a free lance writer of LAT, sometimes he goes on the sports section, arts and others. He wrote an article about his observation of Laker fans who are critical of the team when they lose a game. To me, he is like another Simers & Plashke so that Sunday morning, I made a commentary about his article. (I always speak my mind sometimes fiery when talking about public figures but not with ordinary folks or Laker fans.) Accordingly, PSLF had a different version or opinion about Kurt and made this remark. Therefore there were two sides of opinions to the story. There is no such thing as "Edwinland", if you go farther to the archive, you would also read my encounter with PSLF, with SonnyBelfast, with Korey, with AK of Kbros and many others but we have cleared the air, applied kool aide and moved on. In fact, Sonny became one of my friendly troll who just commented this morning.

Phred has presented his side, so I will present mine why I try to avoid him. If you looked back at the archive, he and another troll labeled me as a "hypocrite" so from that time on, I told him to just bypass or scroll all my posts. He kept on coming back on me and I tried to ignore his praise and banter or pronouncement of love yet imo, he does not really meant it. Secondly, I admit that I'm biased with Phred because of what he did to another old blogger here by the name of Mike T., I think it happened in May during the WCF, Mike was banned from this blog after being provoked by Phred with their heated exchange and stirring attacks with each other. As a blogger, Mike is known here as an enigma but a very tolerable one if you know how to deal with him. He became a contrarian fan when Kwame was shipped out. From that time on, he became a disillusioned blogger against the Lakers specifically PJ and always go with the opposing team. Deep in his heart, this guy is a true Laker fan and he followed the Lakers while in prison. He made clippings, listened on radio and he could elucidate stats and minutes played and what was said on that particular day. We knew all of these because he was honest about himself in this blog. Going back to my feelings about Phred I really resent what transpired that he kept on saying it is all about love yet had the temerity to drive someone out of this blog. Nobody owns this blog, I believe in respect with each other space and opinions. Perhaps, you can convince others to your POV and displease others too so after few responses let's agree to disagree, move on. There should only one moderator that is Mark or whoever is assigned.

With regards to myself, I am not a controversial figure. I love to make commentaries on public figures and speak what is of my mind but I avoid insulting bloggers. I joked at bloggers I comfortable with and established a rapport or friendship after posting more than a thousand posts since 2005. We are only few relics here. My contemporaries like Korey, AZ, EX, Faith, Xodus, bob, Stargazin', Lolo, JayJay, WiZo, Shady, Weaveman, Guity, weatherman, Pete, Arnie, Raz, Zach, Zakee, Hariyahu, Lorema, Chris of Norway, laker fan in UK, Lamar World, lakersrydeordie, Nyla, Kiwi, Tsphere, Art, Wow, Zen, Miguelinho, Bonez, Compton's Finest and many more names in Mamba's roll call, they are no longer blogging and have moved on too. Perhaps, due to time constraints in their lifestyle or maybe they've outgrown the blog too and it is no longer their cup of tea. I'm sure they are still reading and keeping up with the news just not posting. Someday, I might do the same when I'm no longer happy posting and reading what are being posted or perhaps quit when I'm no longer welcome here being an old relic. Based on age, I'm not that old, few years younger than Phil Jackson but old enough as an eyewitness to several Laker games. That's my take and I will not be able to respond for the rest of the day. Thank you.

Good morning Laker fam:

My early thought for the day........ are we obsessing a bit over this Sheat team because our own super team ('04) of Malone, Payton, Shaq and Kobe couldn't co-exist?

I know there was Malone's injury to create the "what if".
But seriously, I admit to thinking/hoping there is a Sheat meltdown at some point. Anybody else?

Oh there will be a meltdown believe me. When DWade starts getting all the glory and that starts affecting Princess Jimmy’s “Branding” schemes he is going to realize he has been played by Darth Stern. You think the Princess pouted against Boston wait till this happens and the lil darling realizes he also took less money to be the main female dog for DWade. THE HORROR!

Good Morning Laker fam,

PLG - I don't know about the meltdown...this is the honeymoon period and Miami will rally around the us against the world mantra. Actually winning the title on the court will be much more difficult than just sticking together.

So yes I agree that Bosh is more finesse than power, but I guess it just a matter of semantics with the "stretch 4". He definitely will have sacrifice and do more dirty work with the Heat. That was the problem with his Toronto team. Him and Bargnani are both finesse players.

In 3 sentences, you articulated exactly what I was trying to say. The young KG went one and done for years. How many total playoff GAMES has Bosh played in during his 7 seasons? 11. 2 one and dones. ('06-'07; '07-'08)

Um..

In the Dark alley I want Larry Mamba 24 -- Ex Marine and overall funny guy. That way if we don't get mugged we can at least have some fun. I don't want to see myself because I'll ask to borrow $20, and I just don't have it right now.

Actually, he's a big, so what are you talking about? Does Ron Artest guard Tim Duncan? Does Raja Bell guard Pau Gasol? I wasn't following the entire conversation, so maybe you were joking, but he'll be guarded by the same players who have always guarded him. The difference is that they will have it easier because he'll be without the ball a lot more.

Finally....
I'm here finally.

Gotta apologize for leaving my Fam cold but I had an heck (wonderful!!!!) of long weekend in Naples (catching my unbound fix, Maroon 5... *_*), then now it's Fashion Week in Milan and I have to roll a lot (in fact in one hour I'll witness Prada catwalk ;)).

In all that, I fear till October 12 I might be volatile... not as a reader, but as a poster.

What can I do... I gotta fly in Cali but I won't have much time to blog (in fact I might even ditch Twitter for a week) because... yep.
I go to San Francisco.
To get engaged.
With my family along.
(To express my pretty stubborn fandom, a random pointing in LA after that will see me hopefully catch Lakers at training - so if you see me... come and say HI!!! - and of course (how could I miss) I will have two night in a row at Greek Theather. Guess to hear what ;) ...

But now it's Laker.

I LOVED all I read, all new profiles... everything.

About the incoming season, I have to say that:

WE WILL THREEPEAT.

I don't care about no rivarly if we are healthy (sounds familiar from last year? Right... ;)) and I think while Kobe will still makin us hold breath about his finger recovery (but he will shine nonetheless) I know Pau will be AMAZING in total this year.

I am sure Drew will heal (he must NOT return until he is fine) and get up to where we want him to stay.

Ron will have for me a bit of a transitional "post hungover triumph" moment at the start of the season but by conenient time, just as Derek, he will be again a solid factor to our victory.

I expect Sasha and Shannon to bring consistency.

I expect the same genius Lamar with ups and downs but with TOTAL class and shine. I just HOPE he won't dry (I'm a bit concerned there).

The new will be fine and PJ will be again coach of coaches.

Dallas Maverick and Miami Meat can keep dream about rings: there won't be any at those houses any soon.

Shaq will end being even more poisoning for Celtic than he was for the Crabs and my only real concern this year will be OKC and Kevin D.

But in style.

No real fear, just utmost respect.

In fact the only thing that I don't like is this bashing of media about LeBronze: honestly, I prefer him inflated.
When he thinks he's a Godsent (he's not) he performs accordingly, namely spoofy and limitedly.
I don't wanna verify if critics and less cuddles from the media will help him gaining bravery.

Honestly: keep telling he's good.
It does US good.

About how long it takes to me to recover from a victory... well, till the NEXT one.

Means till next June right?

A tight embrace to Fam.

Till the end of the month I'll blog all days.

Then... I'm MIA from 1 to 12 October but I have one awesme reason and justify right?

Hugs to you all.
I always miss you when I'm not around actively :)

LLL, Zaira ;)

wes - yeah - funny post button happenings over here too....

He can take a carrot a pan of water some potatoes and onions and cook a meal to feed all the troops. And yes strange things are indeed happening with the Posting button sir.

You know, every time I read one of Zaira's posts I come to understand and appreciate more fully how completely uneventful and boring my life is....

Finally....I'm here finally. Well it’s about time!! You can’t just leave your Laker Nation without their Goddess! The only topics of conversation around here have been, when would Training Camp start and when would our Goddess return. But now…Now praise the Lord our Goddess is back and training camp starts in 2 days! SWEET JESUS!!! It don’t get no better than that!!!

I find this fact signifigant.

The first question of the poll has had 1852 respondents at the time of my comment compared to 1330 for the last question.

That's 522 respondents that did not finish the poll.

What happened to those missing 522? Fatty wants to know.....

What do you think happened to those missing 522?

A. The poll was too long and they fell asleep at their computer.
B. They wanted to fill out the entire poll, but the boss entered the room and they quickly switched back to their work screen.
C. They are not 'real' loyal Lakers fans and should be banned from voting next time.
D. Mark Medina is trying to fix the poll and skew the results for his own selfish benefit.
E. Other (explain)

The Fabulous Justanothermambafan's life boring? IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!

Good Morning Laker Fam!

Got on the blog this morning and dang you guys were busy last night! Love reading all those posts with inside jokes, etc.. You guys rock!

Watched an NBA Roundtable with Laker players from the 80's, including Jerry West, who teared up when speaking about Magic Johnson. Watching The Logo cry was insanely moving and got me going, too. Man, those were the days. They showed these INSANE passes Magic did (bounce pass from out of bounds to a cutter under the basket while the other team stood around in shock - so simple, so beautiful) , and I was remembering so well those days when he ruled the court. The vision of that man. Jaw dropping talent and heart. And that team. That team loved each other. They all said it. Chemistry and joy up the whazoo. Quite moving.

And now I'm jonesin' even MORE for the season to start. How I love basketball, and of course, my BACK TO BACK WORLD CHAMPION LAKERS the most!!!

That's 522 respondents that did not finish the poll.

I hear you Justa. The only cat walk I experience these days is, well, walking the cats on a leash around the yard.

Maybe down the sidewalk.

Wes

Frome the voting, I see we have 72 trolls lurking around, unless some of them voted twice.

Let's go Lakers. If the Lakers starting five get healthy, it's going to be three peat. However If one of the starter get injury during the playoff , I think Miami is going to be very dangerous cause they are young and talents. If final Boston again the Lakers, the result would be the same which is Lakers Win.....Boston has three old guys starter, and they will be running out of gas by the fourth quarter.

I'm not quite sure why anyone's worried about the Heat (or any other team for that matter). There will always be good teams, there will always be teams with multiple stars, but every team has weaknesses, and you better believe that Phil Jackson is looking for them and planning for them. Even his recent remarks point to that already beginning.

Whether DWade, Lebron and Bosh jell/gel or not, it just doesn't matter. Lakers need to play Lakers basketball, and with our length, our experience, our versatility, and Kobe, we can take ANY team in a series.

It's the Lakers' ability to evolve their play from game to game that makes them so dangerous. Go tall, we can go taller; go speedy, we can do that; clamp down defense, we have a guy who cannot be stopped; cut off the perimeter, we go inside, and vice-versa; we even have a bench now. What's the big deal?

Will someone on the other team go off on a night? Sure. Will a second guy? It happens. But it's not like we don't have our own players to go off right back at them. Plus, I'll take Phil over everyone out there, even Riley.

If the Lakers can stay healthy, we can beat anyone. Doesn't matter if the other team is working on on 12 cylinders or not. We be turbo-charged and ready for anything.

Just my 2 cents (and the cold medicine).
