Ron Artest hosts TMZ, forgets who David Spade is

August 7, 2010 |  8:58 am

Ron Artest is no stranger to the celebrity gossip site TMZ, but never has he guest-hosted the trashy TV show before -- until this week.

With TMZ founder Harvey Levin on vacation, the Lakers forward assumed the role of leaning over the cubicle, querying the youngsters about the stories of the day and writing on the see-through board.

Throughout the show Artest quipped about this celebrity and in the clip above made fun of comedian David Spade by writing "who the hell is David Spade" on the board. When reminded that Spade was courtside, indeed benchside, with Chris Rock and Adam Sandler during Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Artest attempted to erase his diss.

Fortunately #37 is more proficient at crashing the boards than he is at cleaning TMZ's board.

At the end of the show, Artest challenged the staff to join him in attempting to eat a slice of bread in one minute without any water. As the credits rolled, neither Ron Ron nor a large staffer could chew and swallow the slice in 60 seconds. Award-winning television at its finest.
