REPOST!!!

Good morning Mamba24 & the fabulous Laker morning CRUE!!!

A couple of quick thoughts this morning to start your reading pleasure lol :

1. FEARless - you are one awesome disciple LOL! Now figure out what game you're talking about. You're gonna give LRob an aneurism.

2. ChicNstu - again, it was great to see a post from you. I'm sure you'll notice Mamba24 started a bandwagon for your sister? Hope everything works out well and quickly, so we can see you back on here real soon.

3. justalakerfan - I'm sorry for the "justa" confusion. I really didn't think you were all that serious about it, but now that I see you are, I apologize. Let's just hope everyone can ID their justa and let's move forward. From 1 to another... have a great day, my friend.

4. I was watching the Team USA vs France game last night (ain't TiVo a wonderful thing)? Anyhoo, I need to know who the hell ate Boris Diow? Seriously. Is he carrying some Michelin under his jersey? Wow - dude needs to diet.

5. Also regarding that game, Lamar did pretty well. Solid defensive effort, great rebounding - I love me some Lamar. I'm not sure that this team will win because they're very young, and are playing a very herky, jerky kind of offense, but next year? Look out world. (And of course in 2012 when the Kobester's back on the team looking for Gold # 2).

6. I'm gonna throw my hat in with lewstrs & LRob (and others I'm sure) in wanting to keep our core together. We have this conversation all the time. It's crazy to break up a core of players who have just won 2 cookies in a row. Crazy I tell ya! I'm excited for this season to begin. Everyone healthy - more veteran, hungry talent on board.OOOOO WEEEEEE this is gonna be some kinda fun! Who cares what anyone else is doing? I only care what the Lakers are doing. And from where I sit, I say we are poised to 3-peat. Maybe even Quat-row (that's 4 in a row) LOL! We got the talent. We got the skill. We got the experience. We got the best coach. We got the best player. We got the best tandem. We got the best defensive player. Hell - WE GOT THIS!!

7. Is it October yet? WHAT??? NO??? *sigh* Someone please pass the vodka & percoset...

RCOTD = LAKERLASS = ...OUT FREAKIN STANDING MAM!!
Now that's the way to start the day!!! Congrats My Laker Lass!!
mamab24

I'm shocked I say, simply shocked! Lol! Carry on!

justanothermambafan ~~~~ It's crazy to break up a core of players who have just won 2 cookies in a row. Crazy I tell ya!

======================

Hi justanother...

I believe we traded our starting small forward (Ariza) in the summer of '09 after just winning the Rings. We upgraded with Ron.

If realistically we could get a player the caliber of Melo by just giving up two bench players like Sasha and LO we would be crazy NOT to do it.
I wouldn't call that breaking up the core.

I would even trade Ron for Melo. One of the reasons we got Ron was to guard players like Melo.

Hey Art - I see where you're coming from, but disagree. Trevor was not a "core" player. He may have turned out to be one, but he wasnt' at the time of his departure. OTOH, I believe Ron IS a core player. So is Lamar. Trading either one of them would be (IMHO) crazy. BUT - I'd rather be talking about this after winning Sweet 16 than if we had lost and were presently blowing up the team LOL!

That should be
mamba24/larrY carry on!

So who is the real Mamba24? Known as? And the other one is known as?

Kanye West - representing the worst America and Rap Music has to offer since 1996.

Kobe just lost some respect in my book hanging out with that no-talent clown. I thought Kobe would be a better judge of people than that.

This is mad hilarious. Never underestimate Mad Ron, he can def come true on that.

3Peat is a Mission. Let the Agents to it

Hey All
`
@JAMF - I hear ya regarding the core, but passing on Melo would be just wrong. It's like the CP3 conversation though, doesn't matter cause it ain't gonna happen.
`
@Mamba - Don't sweat the troll. You checking out for the day probably just gave him a hard on.

Mayor - agree 100% on Kanye but . . . hangin' with stars is what keeps stars stars. Besides, there aren't many people Kobe can hang with and have honest fun - Kanye would be one.

47 days until the pre-season starts

71 days until the season starts

Hey Otis, I appreciated your comment on Bird's finger yesterday. That made me feel a LOT better about Kobe. Hopefully he can use tape and not that splint...

Hey Otis, I appreciated your comment on Bird's finger yesterday. That made me feel a LOT better about Kobe. Hopefully he can use tape and not that splint...

We don't need Melo, he's a thug.

So, Kobe Bryant helps Kanye West finish his rap album while Pau Gasol hangs out with tenor Placido Domingo:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYa2pzCHM_U

Very interesting disparity in taste...

I would rather get Danny Granger than Melo, next year of course. The guy has quietly become one of the best players in the league on a not very good team. He goes about his business and doesn't "demand" a trade. I can see him in purple and gold working along Kobe and learning from the legend. He is also young at 27. He can take over the load when Kobe begins to diminish.

It looks like Carmelo is leaving Denver. The Nuggets will have to clean house and rebuild. In two years, the Lakers might need a replacement for Derek Fisher.

Chauncey Billups is under contract for 2 more years at 15+ million. When Chauncey's contract expires, maybe we could get him for cheap. That's my pipe dream for the day.

I don't want to see Magic leave the Lakers to own the Pistons, but it's pretty cool to see the icons Micheal Jordan and Magic Johnson stay in the game as owners.

Kobe/Kanye--no comment

Go Lakers!

As far as I'm concerned, the jury's still out on Melo. He used to be a punk and a thug (and a dough-boy), but I'm not so sure anymore. Working with Kobe on Team USA really made him a better player. The problem, as I see it, is that I think his attitude is not solid yet, as far as leading a team and motivating his teammates, but he may get there. Playing for the Lakers, I believe, would be just what he would need - if that is his goal. However, I also think we'd have to give up too much to get him. Barring a miracle (are you listening Mitch?) I don't think he'll come over to the light anytime soon.

Ugh... Kanye West.... completely grossed out by that guy.

Kobe - stop hanging with disgusting people.

Finally, LeBron gets it!

In a recent interview with GQ magazine, LeBron comes off as humble, genuine and respectful of the City of Cleveland and it's fans. Uhhh...just kidding. The amazing walking, talking jerk that is LeBron resurfaces like an injured Godzilla in the docks outside of Tokyo.

See for yourself:

"LeBron Interview: ‘We hated Cleveland growing up’

“It’s not far, but it is far. And Clevelanders, because they were the bigger-city kids when we were growing up, looked down on us.… So we didn’t actually like Cleveland. We hated Cleveland growing up. There’s a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day.”

Despite those comments, James also curiously claimed to Moehringer that he’d consider one day returning to the Cavs:

“If there was an opportunity for me to return and those fans welcome me back, that’d be a great story.”

Somehow I think that story though won’t be authored by current Cavs owner Dan Gilbert. James, once again speaking in third person:

“I don’t think he ever cared about LeBron. My mother always told me: ‘You will see the light of people when they hit adversity. You’ll get a good sense of their character.’ Me and my family have seen the character of that man.”

James on Charles Barkley criticizing him in recent weeks:

“Charles was probably trying to be funny. It wasn’t funny to me.”

I’m sure the citizens of Akron will also be happy to know that James plans to keep a home there. (Except for the ones who ripped down the “Home of LeBron James” city limits sign):

“This is my home. Akron, Ohio, is my home. I will always be here. I’m still working out at my old high school.”

Best part of the interview though has to be James reiterating that he spoiled Cleveland fans - while lumping his family in there with them:

“I love our fans. Cleveland fans are awesome. But I mean, even my family gets spoiled at times watching me doing things that I do, on and off the court.”

So what’s the end-game for James in all of this?

There isn’t one.

If he wins the NBA title with the Heat, it’s expected and will do little to elevate his celebrity. Especially considering he’s now only a cog in the team’s machine.

James has unwittingly made himself so unlikeable to the public that anything less than absolute on-court success will likely abject disaster for his off-court business career.'

what a great guy. Never have I seen a man bury himself like LeBron has. Oh well.

While I agree with what Hogan said, {Lakers are not going to get Melo}, if the Lakers did get him, he would be "our" thug and be loved for being that way.

I didn't give proper citation to that last article. The entire thing is a post from someone talking about the GQ mag, not me talking about it.

Wes

My God..the days have gone down in the west...

Tomorrow, my GF leaves for London for 4 months--and leaves me all the bills!

There goes my good times. Bills, bils, bills.

Woe is me.

Wes

wes - did you know she was going to do that? And leave you in abject despair? I sure hope you knew, cuz otherwise that's just not right....
BUT - you still have US!

I have no issues with Kanye; he should learn to be a bit more diplomatic but dude is honest. I also think he is talented but i guess that's down to taste. I was a big Jay Z fan but get annoyed with his Lebron love fest thing; Kanye and Lil Wayne at least give props to Kobe. It's silly but those things influence who i like.

Guys - we're going to have to a post up rather soon.

Justalakersfan - I deleted plenty of your comments last night because they were inappropriate and personal in nature. This is a warning. What you did last night would be grounds for a ban

Why are you a hypocrite too? I did the name thing to prove a point and I was right. I defended myself when this mamba24 replied angrily to his name use and started to insult me. Yet you don't threaten your boy for attacking me and inapproprite things he said. Go back and see who started the insults. So its ok for nerd to attack but not ok for me to respond? Sounds very hypocritical to me. And only one post spelled out was borderline. Yeah real blog integrity.

Hey justanothermambafan, did you come up with Quat-row? lol. If so, you should copyright it before Pat Riley does. Also, if Phil leaves after this year, do you all think we are still gonna run the triangle?

I knew Justa. It's part of her program. But that doesn't make up for the lack of Olde English 800 I see coming my way.

I guess I could learn to drink water.

Don't hurry back like your last self imposed exile. Left on false pretense of being banned but wanted symphaty. What so lonely in the basement that you need reassurance?

1. Magic Johnson owning the Detroit Pistons? I HATE the Detroit Pistons. Are you fricken kidding me? Has Magic lost his ever-loving mind? First picking the Celtics to win the Finals and now THIS? WHAAAAAT?

2. Kobe's working with Kanye West? Hopefully he helped that bozo by punching him in the gut and saying, "Listen, you no talent, pitch-correction addicted narcissistic boob, the album is DONE! We don't need you writing any more garbage," and then walking out the door as Kanye writhed on the floor in agony with a punctured liver.

Random thoughts on Melo....

This is just my 2cents if it's possible I don't think the FO wouldn't try. Anyhow we sure love our players,I mean no mastter who we got..Did people say no to Pau for Kwame??just wondering. I mean sasha, luke, even odom at times have always been a topic of trades and under production yet we have people who defend em to the utmost.Don't let me get started on bynum (lol) but if it was possible dunno how people would say no because of odom? gotta be kidding me. also melo is way way better than batman..I mean granger..

btw T-mac for 1mil and change don't seem so bad, dang i think he would have busted his but for a chance at a title,o well we rolling with what we got until..............

Wes,

Three years of secret agent reports agree that I was right while hundreds of millions were wrong.

Wes,

By the way, generally speaking, Akronians do not hate Clevelanders. There is some cultural separation, but I'd say the cultural separation between Los Angeles and Orange County is far more significant than the cultural identity issues of Akron versus Cleveland.

Also, LeJerk lives in Bath, not Akron. Bath is a whole different universe compared to Akron even if they may be relatively close geographically speaking.

Finally, how does LeJerk's on-court activities spoil his family? What a loser.

LakerFanInCowTown - no.. I didn't come up with that. It came out right after we 3-peated last time. However - I'm more than happy to take the credit for it LOL! Has a nice ring to it - no? QUAT-ROW baby! LOL - gotta take care of the 3-peat first, though - right?!

wes - I'm thinking vodka & percoset may do you a world of good over the next few months, brother. What's your address? I'll mail you some lol!

justalakerfan - dude - you are getting waaaay bent out of shape over all of this. Chillax brother! It's the summer of the repeat!! Sweet 16!! WE WON!! Enjoy yourself a little. I think Mamba24 had a troll that was talking crap - everyone knows who you are, and that you're not a troll. Get them panties unbunched, ok? You'll hurt yourself walking around with that wedgie all day. (Said with the "I'm funny dammit" font on).

WHAT THE HELL????? My handle is justanothermambafan. How is that jacking YOUR name??? Good god, man - are you insane??? Now it's MY fricken fault people call ME justa???? Oy vey. Take a percoset. You need it more than anyone.

"Just wanting my respect."-JustaLakerFan

I remember you from the old school dude. Just stand strong on your own. You don't need anyone to justify your place here. Just be a Lakerfan, don't worry about the other 'stuff' on here.

Go Lakers!

JustaLakerFan,

Enough already. We get it! You believe that you should be called Justa, even justanothermambafan was gracious enough to concede that and offered a resolution. NO ONE has ever posted as JustaLakerFan and pretend that it was you posting, as you did as Mamba24, to make a point.
The only point you made in my eyes is that you are immature and delusional. You said that you were dealing with health issues, I'm starting to believe that they are mental health issues. In any event you would think that your health would be more of a priority than your blog name. It can't be healthy to stress over this.
Justanothermambafan did not take your blog name, it is totally different but happens to begin with justa, thus the reference. Can you imagine if we all would be upset because there was someone else in the world with our exact same first name. Give us a break. Let's find the common ground as Lakers fans and move on. Mamba24 happens to have a unique and valuable contribution to this blog that most of us appreciate. I would also appreciate your input if it is more than the Justa hang up.
There is absolutely no confusion on my part when someone refers to Justa (the fine looking, hard core laker fan) so I hear, and you. A male poster, with hopefully good insight and information as a Laker fan. Have a good day.

Jon K, don't want to start another non-basketball related arguement. Know about your general dislike for rap music, but Kanye is more talented than plenty of people from other genres of music who are celebrated for thier contributions to music. Kanye's talent is not restricted to his 'rapping', the dude is also a pretty good producer. I don't like Lebron but i think most basketballers are kinda jerks anyway. I think in our defense of Kobe we might be doing Lebron the dis-service we think people do Kobe.

Thanks Laker J.

(And you hear right LOL!)

@Justalakerfan,
You know we have many people here that have similar names. My first example would be Longtimelakerfan and Longtimelakerlover. Now while it was confusing at first, we learned quickly that one was a guy and the other a woman. No big deal and it doesn't seem to be a problem.

I would recommend you distinguish yourself in some way by joining the fun instead of railing against the tide and crying foul. Mark Medina has issued a warning and from his past patterns, he means it. In fact, I'm glad he is issuing a warning instead of outright banning.

I encourage you to change the paradigm and use your energies in a different way. Justanothermambafan is not the same name as yours and she has offered you an apology and I encourage you to accept it. Move on friend. Let this "Respect" thing go and realize there is room for you both.

Your nickname could be JLF and hers JAMF. People can learn here and with encouragement and some patience, they will. Again, I encourage you to take this in a different direction.

No way the Nuggets trade Melo to the Lakers without asking for Bynum. Besides how would the Lakers benefit from making Bynum (the key to beating the Heats according to most people on the blog), the fourth option on offense?

Guys, let's stop all the infighting please.

There is a post being edited right now and it should be up shortly.

-------------------------------------------------------

Remember when people on the blog told about how Bynum was the key to beating the Celtics offensively? Was Bynum the key or was it a team effort that beat the Celtics?

Not to mention how people dismissed Kendrick Perkins initially when the Celtic trio was formed now all of a sudden he's a world class defender.

Try to think more clearly. Basketball is more than just personal match ups.

Name jacked? I think we've all been blog-jacked. Can't we all justa get along?

*snooze*

Max,

Kanye West has some talent as a producer, but sucks as a songwriter and a lyricist and is a shallow, narcissitic twit.

GO LAKERS!!!

KB Blitz; agreed with the team effort thing; however i don't see how making Bynum the fourth option on offense would help the Lakers. If Bynum is the centre of the future then he needs to stay where he is in the pecking order. Bynum was also pretty important in beating the Celtics just not through is offense.

Geez, JustaLakerFan, Lighten up, this is only a blog..........Do you have a patent on your name? If not, this is America, you know free speech and all. We TRULY need to get this PARTY started, Oct.26th can't come soon enough!!

Yeah he probably is, but alot of stars are unfortunately (shallow, narcissitic twit).
KB; i get your point now; sorry didn't pay enough attention when i first read it.

someone earlier said that Ariza wasn't a core player? at the time of his departure, he was in the starting line up & finishing out 4th qtrs.
