Lakers fans expressed hope for Steve Blake during season finale against Clippers

July 12, 2010 | 11:02 pm

Steve Blake picked a good game to drop his first career triple double. As the Lakers plodded through their regular-season finale, the Clippers ended a disappointing season with a double-digit victory over the Lakers. As everyone on the Lakers appeared more consumed with resting up and remaining healthy for the playoffs (sorry Sasha Vujacic), Blake put on a show that surely helped cement this off-season a four-year, $16-million deal with the Lakers.

The Lakers will introduce Blake Wednesday in a news conference where he'll offer answers to what he should provide as a backup guard for the defending champs. But readers of the Lakers blog had already imagined this scenario panning out as Blake finished with 23 points on eight-for-12 shooting, 11 assists and 10 rebounds against the Lakers. Below are a collection of comments readers made in the Live Chat during the Lakers' season finale against the Clippers:

7:54 - Caliphilosopher: I know it's early for speculation, but I'm going to do it anyway - I'd like to see Blake in a lake show uni next year

8:01 - Faithdalakerfan: Steve Blake is one of those guys that only look good because he's not in laker uniform

8:02 - Caliphilosopher: I would love to have Steve Blake for next year

8:29 - Faithdalakerfan - someone defend Blake

9:32 - Caliphilosopher - Blake is pretty nice for someone who was overlooked in his draft class

9:47 - TitansFan690 - Steve Blake dismantles the triangle offense

9:48 - JontheK - By the way am I the only person who things we should try to get Steve Blake?

9:48 - mmorris728: - Fisher stinks. Give me Steve Blake instead

9:50 - JonTheK - The problem is that the Trailblazers would never have traded Steve Blake to us because they knew it would make us stronger. They hate us.
