So why not go to Chicago with Boozer -established renounder -Noah Good Defender, Rose a decent point guard - no true center (amare?) or point in NY or MIAMI

NY does offer 100's of millions

X-mas Day, Batman, Batgirl and Robin against Black Mamba. Book on it!!!!

Miami is going to be so easy to hate.

this is bad for the league and the game of basketball.

Le Queen is coming out. He's gay marrying Bosh. Wade is best man.

This is PERFECT.

Lebron going to Miami is the BEST thing that can happen to us Laker fans. Now, Kobe and the Lakers have the ultimate motivation in beating the self anointed Dream Team, and to beat them for years to come.

A new excitement has officially settled in Laker land. Beat-the-Heat, Beat-the-Heat, Beat-the-Heat will be the new mantra.

Stay tuned for some serious fun times ahead...

I agree with the post about Xmas day. IMO it was very tacky to take center stage to announce his going to Miami. All of the devotion and support the Cleveland fans gave him, they deserved better than the circus act, the self appointed King gave them. LeBron still has a lot to learn. Wade nor Bosh can help the Drama Queen, who wants to be called a King. Don't blink because you'll be sitting at home watching the finals again next year.

Lebron is hungry for a ring so he chooses Wade & Bosh plus Chalmers.

Now the table turns to Fisher who is known to be a great locker room leader and an experienced Championship player, it his turn to tell the Lakers F/O take me now or I join the three musketeers. They need d' Artagnan to make it work. JB has no alternative but to give him 10M, sign Brown and also Barnes. If there's any truth of Colin Cowherd rumor on Hedo, grab it before Raftors management changes their mind.

Next question, what happens to my Filipino compatriot, Eric Spoelestra? He is not a high profile Coach compared to hungry beaver and successful recruiter Pat Riley? I guess step aside, he becomes the assistant coach of his former buddy, Stan Van Gundy because for sure, Riley will not miss this moment of going back to coaching. He wants to dethrone PJ and Red A. What if in 3 years they don't win any Championship? I think they will hire Jerry Bush to be the new owner and Mitch as the GM of the Heat? There is such thing as molding a Championship team which may take many years and the other it is converting outright by grabbing talents in the open market. It worked with Boston so the formula might also work with the Heat. However, winning it all needs teamwork, camaraderie, free from injuries and the Wooden rules as well. Individual talents are just means, the new combination need to conquer their own demons in disappearing in heat of the playoffs.

On another note, we have Jon Barry saying D. Wade is the 2nd best player in the league. Jon has already said Lebron is number where exactly does that leave Kobe on Jon's list?

Cleveland should be used to it by now.

How would the NBA have prospered if Mike, Magic and Larry had teamed up?

Bad for the brand, bad for the game.

LBJ has got to be 'THE' most overhyped athlete in the history of sports.

Wow - the networks are milking this for all it's worth. I've had enough. Gotta go watch Game 7 again to get the stink off.

Like the Secret Service, we have unlimited black Suburbans
to escort DFish to the Lakers training camp in El Segundo...

Let's talk about what we need to do already...SIGN FISH MITCH....

Ok Lecunt is a huge CHUMP! He cant win a ring in his own house so he has to go and cry to DWade and Bosh for help. He aint no man, he had to go to DWades house. Wat a CHUMP! He will never be like Jordan,Kobe,Magic,Bird those men would never do that. Lecunt would never be one of the greatest players in NBA history. Just a big CHUMP who couldnt win a championship on his own, on his own house. But im not mad fellas and gals. I got my game face on and im ready for war!! BOSTON SUCKS!!! THE HEAT SUCK!!!!! We are the LAKERS!! We fear no one!!! Lets go LAKERS!!!! can yal say 3PEAT!!!!!

I'm officially announcing the GetTonyParker in 2011 bandwagon.

Maybe this will get Lakers management off their butts. Staying pat, or signing Blake is no answer for a tidal wave.

so does that mean we can sign Fish now? ;-D

that's all I care about...

I'm so fricken pissed off. This is bad for the league. I cant beleive the league alloud this sort of of thing. Baby Wade whines enough and gets the 2 top free agents. What the hell !!!!!! THE lakers better go out and get mike miller. Forget about the luxury tax. I dont want Miami winning peroid. Dr buss better be agressive now in free agency. This changes everything, we need to adjust to this decision. I'm so pissed off right now. Someone tell me things are going to be ok.

Great job LeBron! You just hosted your own ONE HOUR special to break the hearts of Cleveland!

LeBron you are truly the King of Jerks!

No need to fear this team next year since it'll be 3 All-Stars and 9 minimum wage guys. I'm predicting a rematch with either the Cs or Magic instead.

And please don't mention teams like West-Baylor-Chamberlain or Magic-Kareem-Worthy or Bird-McHale-Parrish or KG-Pierce-Allen... All those teams had great supporting casts as well, people seem to forget.

4 biggest idiots on ESPN...

1. Skip Bayless
2. Tim Legler
3. John Hollinger
4. Job Barry

The rest are just regular idiots, excluding the Kamenetzky brothers of course...

I hate ESPN.

I hope LeBron James gets hit by a truck or mauled to death by a pack of rabid babboons with the rage virus.

He's a huge narcissistic jerk.

There will be karma for this.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

Called it. Knew that lbj the most ego-testicle person on this planet would team up with the other 2 losers. Now I actually want boston to kick their azz so that lbj still won't win a ring. Lakers will take out boston...again!

My big gripe is LO. We should have traded this known loser for Bosh. LO is trash. He doesn't deserve to wear a Laker uniform. At least Bosh might try to help the Lakers. stupid LO is off making his dumb ass reality show with his cow wife.

Lakers better be ready to play and get rid of their lackadaisical atttitude. I know that PJ realizes the Lakers if they play to their potential no team can touch us. But they have to be self motivated to play the right way - all the time.

We need Fisher back!!! Dump LO!! Get Mike Miller or Ariza back. Then we have fricken Walton where 5-6 million is getting totally WASTED!! He should damn retire for medical reasons so the Lakers can sign someone who can contribute.

I'm so pissed off right now. Someone tell me things are going to be ok.

Posted by: CrzyFan | July 08, 2010 at 07:23 PM

OK ... Things will be ok. See you in June!

How did they get Labron without even getting rid of Beasly. I cant beleive this shit. Man i'm heated right now. Come on Buss lets get T-mac then no team will come close to us.

LeTraitor will never win a ring while Kobe is still playing...

When it's all said and done it will be Lakers over the c's again next year. Miami might get out of the first round.

I dont know if they kept Beasly, but DWade and Bosh said they would take pay cutts to keep him and grab other vets.

What's going to be great about this is that everyone in Ohio is now a Laker fan!! Ha ha - they will now jump on the Lakers bandwagon and root against lbj and his sidekicks!!!

I even think there will be other Laker haters who convert since lbj is such a egomaniac - their despisal of lbj will trump the laker jealousy.

Man - can't wait for next season already and hope that Miami gets bounced in the first round!! That would be awsome!!!!

The NBA - where collusion happens!!!

If Luke Walton is a true Laker he would retire so the lakers can win another championship.

MM - why you keep blocking my comments? I see stuff on here way worse than what I'm stating.

Gonna be some motivated defensive units on the C's, the Magic and the Bulls next year. Can't wait for them to eat the Heat alive in the playoffs.

Is it fair to root for the Celtics now to beat down these chump Heats???

Kamenetzky brothers r not idiots. JUST SCRUBSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Chris Broussard. what a tool

he is asking JJ REDICK to sacrifice his low 4 mil salary for those punks who sacrifice from 20 MIL.

Crazy fan - I'm with you on this is bs allowed by stern. Cant believe they let it go down. Figure all teams in the east are pissed off. One time I'm happy to see 131-92. Much rather meet Boston than a group of circle jerks!!!

BigChuck34 I hope you're all tuned into my hour long special on ESPN2 about which t-shirt imma wear tomorrow
about 1 hour ago via twidroid

BigChuck34 Terrible decision lebron
about 1 hour ago via twidroid

Even if the all take only 16.5 mil each, the max minimum, they still would be over the salary cap by 2mil...and only have Beasley and Chalmers with their 3 new draft picks.

They would have to do a sign and trade with either Cleveland or Toronto, with Toronto being the most likely, Cleveland is too pissed to cooperate...Which would put them about 1.6 under the salary cap...

That would leave them with the Big 3 and the rookies...with only 1.6 to spend...They will be over the salary cap definitely no matter what...

It's probably a good move for the "King of No Rings," but VERY CLASSLESS way to go about it. ME, ME, ME, it's all about ME!

He said he will take less money along with Wade and Bosh to ensure it will work. Had they traded Beasley then Lebron Wade Bosh would have gotten the max but it works either way.

Cleveland may be a city where there is nothing to do usually but man gotta feel bad for them the entire state could be rioting that makes the Lakers' riot after the title look like a kid's birthday party.

Jon K, get us news from Ohio if you can even though you are back in the Southland concerning how the Cleveland fans feel about all this (we know but hell it's interesting to see what they did from burning jerseys to crying or whatever).

I bleed purple and gold - exactly dude!!! He is taking up crucial salary and contributes zilch!!! We need those dollars to sign Mike Miller or someone who can shoot - or another big. Curses!!!

Coach John Wooden said he'll take average players and play as a team because basketball is a team game. How can the Miami Heat team run with three supertars in LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh trying to outdo each other in scoring?
Now is the time to sigh Derek Fisher and fast forward to the 2011 NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat.

CP3 trying to suck up to the G3!!!!!!!!!!!

he is happy that LBJ got this OFF his chest!!!!!!!!!!!

CP3 is also a c%#k sucker!!!

Every since I saw Team USA ... I've been dreading this.

For y'all wishing for D-Fish ... he's on the clock as of NOW.

Put $$ on this. If D-Fish hasn't signed by the end of the
week the Lakers will sign someone else. I'm guessing
Mike Miller.

note: I could be wrong about this and have no problems being wrong.

Why I think D-Fish is on the clock?

1. Miami.
2. Jermain O'Neal & Celtics
3. Youth

So now we know those Bynum/Bosh rumors either were untrue intentionally
or unintentionally untrue.

One thing I will say, is that Kobe now stands to be the All Time Points leader some day in the future.

JVG giving credit to KOBE that he will never do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks like KOBE starts to get some LOVE

Twitter trending topic: Burning Lebrons jersey

WintonDupree #Burning Lebrons Jersey - Take a dump on it, take a leak on it, wipe your a$$ with it, but don't burn it!
1 minute ago via web

I Bleed purple and Gold- As I stated before, true Lakers fans never,EVER root for the HATED C's.

Why can't they just say it...SVG came close...

Why can't they just say, "They teamed together so they can beat Kobe and the Lakers."

Great point about LBJ having no class and not calling Cavs owner Gilbert first...

I have a feeling that this will all backfire in their faces...

The collusion was obvious, and I forgot to metion LBJ and Bosh have the same agents...

The mood of Ohioans maybe bad and worst in Cleveland but I think it is a good beginning in building a team from down up with Byron. He is a good Coach that let the Nets and Hornets to the playoffs. They have to develop young talents wanting to win Championship too even if they have no name. Lebron was a failure in Cleveland for consecutive years, what he earned was for himself and not for the team, so it is just right to let him go. Maybe it will take some time to find another Lebron's talents but they could develop a winning team in the East. Look at the Clippers, they are not even bothered by the announcement because Donald treats at it as "savings" and an addition to his profit margins for not being chosen by Lebron. lol!

Help me guys. Come on Buss do something to equal this deciosn. The media is saying that the Heat are the most talented team in the league. This does not sit well with me. lets get T-mac. Any ideas?

The question now is, who runs the show in Miami, Wade or Le Le Bron? Actually I have no problem w/Wade. But the Queen, never was my favorite. Because he is a girly-man, he had no other choice but to be a squatter in somebody's house.

Boston and Orlando better bring it this season. Then again, even if they don't, I want to see the Lakers tap that tail. And to the sports anals who want to pump this up into some kind of 10 year reign, Get a life. It'll be fun watching your heads explode in June. Lakers 2011 Champions.

Shit, the C's got jermaine oneal. Come on Lakers lets get someone before there is nothing left.

after this unity of the G3,

signing FISHER even for one year will be a HUGE WASTE of TIME.
obviously anyone that will play for the Lakers has to be for the long run, at least 3-4 years.

Walton has to be MUTED and bought out.

time to be creative MITCH. some of the scrubs won't cut it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!

You just seen the decision of a guy who made the jump from highschool to the pros an imature one. I want to go to Miami on A planned put together dream team. Making an announcement like he is the president of the united states and screwing Cleveland. Great players make other players rise to their level, and carry them to a title. he was mvp in Cleveland for two years and had the best record in the NBA last year what else do you need. mayb another play off shot. Cleveland deserves better. Also the whole fundraiser did not make you look any better

'This is bad for the league, and bad for the game of basketball'

What you really mean Vman, is that it is only good when Hollywood can pull it off, right? I mean really, be honest now. If it had been you, all of you would be praising the brilliance of Kupcake and the magnificence of La La land basketball. Right? Don't lie now.

But the Heat? Admittedly, it will be tough rooting for Miami in any sport. Fortunately, I'll only have to manage it a couple of games next season.

Fortunately, it won't be more than two games because the Lakers won't be in the finals next season. There are too many other great franchises in the west, who unlike the cookoo birdies of Hollyweird, can't rely on special treatment from the league, refs, and media, and actually must cultivate, nurture and fill their nests with their own All-Stars from scratch. And that, my friend, they are doing in style.

Push comes to shove though, it really doesn't bother me that by-far-the-best-player in the NBA may finally play for a championship. Miami will have a tough time beating the Thunder in the finals however.

Wow! Lebron and Wade on the same team will be absolutely ridiculous. The Heat will be a force to be reckoned with. Their first challenge will be the Magic in the battle of Florida, then the Celtics, and if they are lucky, it's the Lakers.

I have no doubt that this is going to work out. These guys have sacrificed a lot, especially Lebron, for this opportunity to win. Even though the popular thing to do now is hate on Lebron, the reality is that this is his life and legacy that is on the line. It was his decision, he made it, and now he's got a chance to be on an all time team and win multiple championships. That sounds like a good deal to me. I'm not mad at Lebron at all for this decision.

Go Lakers!

Isn't the decision to go to Miami the opposite of what someone with a big ego would do? He's sacrificing his own stats and dominance of his team in order to share the spotlight. Someone with a big ego would want the spotlight to themselves, wouldn't they? They would either take the money and hometown adulation (Cleveland) or the big city and the fame (New York) or the best team where they could be the unquestioned alpha dog (Chicago). Miami was the least "ego driven" choice he could have made. He mostly seems to have made it because him, Wade, and Bosh all really like each other and he wants to win titles. Is that really such a horrible thing?

Who cares where LBJ or Bosh went.

We have Steve Blake!

Woops! Sorry about the triple post. Inadvertent, I assure you.

btw - how is Lebron and Bosh both going to Miami with Wade's pleading any more "collusion" than Malone and Pippen both going to LA with Shaq and Kobe's pleading?

LeBron has no remorse about leaving Cleveland, don't let his hollow words fool you...

I think he knew he was not coming back to Cleveland after getting booed in game 5 of the Boston series...He made up his mind that moment...Not knowing what team he would go to, but knew he wouldn't be coming back to the Cavs...

He keeps referring to what he has done to that franchise and city...

He suckered them after failing, and then he suckered us into watching "The Decision."

Give him credit for that...

Does it still sound like a good idea to spend 10mil on Fisher now that these chump3 are in miami?? I mean should we spend this money on a younger player instead? I think a 1 year deal for Fish wouldnt be bad.

I think that Heat team will definitely be a great team but that does not Guarantee a RIng…. everyone swore Lebron was going to win this year…. Look at the desperation the “King” has to do to finally get his ring…. Its funny because so many Kobe haters and Laker haters say Kobe has to have great players around him to win….. WHO DOESN’T??? Great Miami team and Lebron will lose all credibility if they lose…. I personally think this move hurts his legacy more than anything because just about ALL of the greats stayed with 1 team and won with 1 team before leaving for another team. I like Lebron and feel he is talented enough to win a title but the way they are going about it hurts his legacy more than anything. Its like if Jordan and Bird could not win they went to team up with Magic in LA….. now what do you think MJ and Birds legacies would be if they won titles with Magic who already had a title or 2?

LA Guy

get a life. he just recognized that he is a chocker and needs a few better players to win one. please don't regurgitate the sacrifice and the sharing meme.

where were U when the Lakers won the championship to congrat the team. was granny sick??????? did the dogs ate your homework????????????????

u r pathetic. what a trolllllllllllllllllllll

Laker fans, don't panic.....we just won the back2back Championship. It is their move to re-organize to be AT PAR with the Champs. We have the five good players in our line up to compete with any team, at any time on any day of the season. However, when our players get tired or get injured, they need some good replacement, we won it last year with half-baked 2nd team, I hope we can improve that area a little bit. The same is true with the Heat, they have only three players plus Chalmers to begin with, they have to surround themselves with blue collars or journeymen players. Celtics on the other hand are getting older every season and their best defensive Coach is now with the Bulls, all they got is Rivers who coaches by yelling and constant repetition.

Greater teams in the West than us? Kidding right?!

let's not get too worried or crazy about the Heat. they're still another season or two til they can threaten for the 'ship. remember, all they have are 3 great players. not much else. Pat Riley &c. are gonna have their work cut-out for them to find good role players and implement a system for all of them to flourish in. they're prob not gonna be another boston celtics (who got pretty damned lucky that Rondo turned out to be such a stud).
next year, i think the Lakers are meeting the C's again in the finals.

@ Belfast

They said the Lakers would not make it back to the finals after the 08 season because of the Hornets.... Then after the 09 season because of the Nuggets.... Now after the 10 season because of who? the Thunder? Give me a break dude.. they are not a shoe-in for the finals but they have a better percentage of going to the finals than any other team in the west

Will people stop panicking sheesh.

Does anyone even think Mike Miller, much less Chris Paul or Carmelo Anthony, will take the vets minimum for the honor of playing beside the "Super 3"? Get real, people! There may be a lockout in 2012 and NO PAY. The players who are left are going to get as much as they can.

Neither the Lakers nor the Heat are going to get Mike Miller. Instead someone like the Clippers is going to overpay for him.

Lakers need to get DFish and a vet big man.

The Heat will become dangerous when they stock up with MLE, bi-annual exception, etc. But not next year or even the year after that.

Worry more about the Thunder, Magic, and Celtics next year. But the chance of a three-peat looks pretty good right now.

In terms of the East, don't count the Bulls out. They have a very good team. Could easily be Lakers-Bulls next year. Oh, just a quick reminder: We are the 2008-09 & 2009-10 NBA Champions!

after this unity of the G3,

signing FISHER even for one year will be a HUGE WASTE of TIME.
obviously anyone that will play for the Lakers has to be for the long run, at least 3-4 years.

Posted by: ouchhhhhhhh | July 08, 2010 at 08:06 PM

gimme a break. its win now, more than ever. as for Fish, lol. just L-O-L.

Next season is gonna be EPIC. We'll beat the Heat so bad and it's gonna ROCK!!!!

I think the Lakers need a deadly three point shooter... Its amazing we won 2 years straight without one. Shows the heart of a champion. Think about every championship team in recent memory besides the 09 and 10 Lakers had a deadly 42% plus 3 point shooter.... We need one bad to stretch the floor. then it would not matter what super team is formed to try and dethrone us... I actually feel honored as a fan that teams are trying to build super teams just to beat Kobe, Gasol, Fisher, Artest, and a broke down Bynum... after odom not much other talent on the team. Come to think about it how on earth did we win the title?????? oh Yeah MAMBA baby

How sweet would justice be if Cleveland was to win a title without Lebron...

I think Joakim Noah is happy James is not going to Chicago...

LA Guy - you surely can't be a Lakers fan - so I'm taking that the "LA" is Lower Alabama?
Get outta here!

A SUPER Team was just formed for the sole purpose of BEATING the Lakers!!! How cool is that? How cool is it knowing the entire Landscape of the NBA just changed because of Dr Buss, Phil and Kobe ? How cool is it watching other teams and fans scramble while we get to sit back, enjoy our Championship season, and watch the carnage unfold? But most of all, How cool is it KNOWING no matter what happens, it WONT derail our 2011 3PEAT SEASON !!!! GOD wears a Purple and Gold robe except only WE Lakers fans GET IT !!!! Buh Bye Cleveland, thanks for playing.. Buh Bye Celtics, Buh Bye Magic and for you South Beachers.. We care more about the Thunder than we do YOUR make believe DYNASTY !!!! Muwahahahahahahahaha

Would be nice to sign M. Miller or K. Korver.

LBJ isn't a stand up type of dude in my opinion. He has to go and ride D-Wade's championship experience instead of learning how to make others around him rise to the occasion like Jordan did. I guess some people want the easy way out in life. It would have been better is he stayed and developed some bigger balls to match that ego of his. Only those who endure lots of hardships on their way to the Larry O'Brien trophy can feel as sense of gratification when touching it.

Guys, leave Lebron alone. He made a decision for "hm". Lets respect that. He implied he was not happy at Cleveland. Lets respect that. The Heat are favorites to win it all next season. Lets see how our FO reacts. They have been very slow in getting a backup for Bynum. We also need one more shooter and of cause sign Fisher.
but lets leave LeBron alone. He is the only one that knows why he made that decision. He is not on this earth to make people happy. He is here to make himself happy.
You think if the shoe were on the other foot the organization will care for him? Lets be real.

thanks Scott, for being a voice of reason in here. all of you that are wishing (beyond reason) for the Lakers to make some HUGE free agent move this off-season is really waisting your time (unless you're thinking of a trade, and the Lakers don't really have that many tradeable assets right now, besides Kobe, Pau, Bynum, Odom, and Artest...and Mitch would be nuts to trade any of those guys unless we can land a superstar for any of the last 3).

this is reality people: the Lakers can only sign a free agent with what's left of the MLE (about $2 mil i think) and the vet minimum. yeah, like we can actually get someone like Mike Miller to come off our bench for the vet minimum, lol!!!!! rotflmao!

seriously, the only other moves we can seriously make are: resigning D-Fish and Brown. anything else would be a dream scenario, like: let's trade Luke Walton and Sasha Vujacic for Carmelo Anthony or Steve Nash. that kind of thinking with $2.50 will get you a cup of coffee.

No problem with his choice (a good one I think), but the BIG deal TV show was classless and just a swift kick to Cleveland on his way out.

Drama "King of No Rings." Do you think the NBA will survive when he retires? Sorry KO, that will be my last dig of the night.

A Letter From Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

Miami? I am totally baffled.. It aint even a sportstown who can't even sell out their arenas..

How pathetic and gutless... Go try and ride dwades coattails for a ring.

Lakers must counter.. Signing bell should become a bigger priority. Lakers will need another perimeter defender to help on dwade.

Hey guys in case you haven't seen this. Cleveland Owner Dan Gilbert has a lot on his mind

Cleveland ROCKED !!!! Now Boston has an O'Neal which made them older and slower so count them OUT, Miami has 3 Excellent players but they dont have a PHIL.. If our guys see what WE see.. this off season will be a total commitment to raising their skill set and drive to do what EVERYONE doesnt expect the Lakers to do.. 3PEAT !!!! More than ever.. I WANT TO SEND PHIL OUT A WINNER !!! I'm riding the 3PEAT BUS NOW AND ALL SEASON LONG !!!!! I'm with Justa.. this whole ordeal makes me feel dirty.. time to pop in Game 7 and watch the look of disgust on the Celtics faces lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

since some of you brought up Fisher on this thread, i'll throw in my two cents. i think he was instrumental in the last two championship runs, for not just some timely 3s, but most importantly, his leadership. at the same time, no, i don't think he's worth $10 mil for 2 seasons. but after this recent development, i think J. Buss should consider something around $7 mil for 2 seasons. or maybe $6 mil for 2 w/ some incentives (ppg avg., playing every game, winning championship, etc.).

if you disagree with me, we all might be seeing this nightmare scenario: Blake injures his knee and we're stuck with Sasha Vujacic at the point! case closed.

Is that true or a joke?

I'll repeat what I've been saying all along. It's all about health and a stronger, much more productive bench in order for us to threepeat. Our mantra this year is PJ's "last stand." PJ will have this team ready and motivated to defend it's titles. Only JVG on BSPN and David Aldridge/Chris Webber on NBAtv gave Kobe and the Lakers any love or respect. Not surprising at all.

Lakers need to sign Fish, bring in another defensive minded player who can also space the floor and hit shots and a backup big(Brad Miller?). Bolstering our bench and health are the keys to winning it again. We by got this year with little or nothing from our bench and no dead-eye shooter. Blake helps, but we need a little more and we're purple and golden. Go Lakers!!!

hmmm...i'm with you yellofever on signing Bell. that's if he'd take the rest of the MLE or the vet min. i don't see of any other way to land him.

and i am a tad worried about the O'Neal signing in boston. but when i remember that Garnett, PP, and Ray-ray will all be a year older, i smile. :^)

Well Beasley will not be with the Heat. He was just trated to the Twolves for a seconr round pick.

Wow. Those are some bitter words from Dan Gilbert. Clearly, some didn't take the news too well.

As someone who admires LBJ's game, I was disgusted by the fact that he chose to make a grand spectacle of kicking Cleveland in the groin. That and the charade put on by D-Wade and Bosh over the last few weeks. I sincerely hope that all fans outside of Miami turn against this group of frauds. And I regret ever wanting LBJ in a Laker uniform.

What line could quickly change a persons' view towards you.

It was just this morning that people in Northeast Ohio were clamoring for Lebron James to stay and sending him all kisses and whatever.

Then one line changed all of that.

"I've decided to take my talents to South Beach"

Then we see LBJ's jersey being burned and rocks being thrown at his billboard in Downtown Cleveland.

Then comes that letter from Dan Gilbert and ooo must he be flaming mad as much as Cavalier fans in Cleveland especially are.

Not only will the Cleveland Cavaliers Organization will be shattered but the entire state of Ohio as well. Lebron was everything to that state and he was larger than the Cavaliers/Browns/Indians/Bengals/Reds/Buckeyes. Their economy was based on him and now with a few followers left their economy will even get worst.

That being said....better them than us.

Besides, the Lakers are still the champions and got an upgrade overall regardless in Steve Blake and kept our own free agent in Phil Jackson for one more year. Glad to be in Los Angeles and not in Ohio.

Random Thoughts

Why are some Laker fans panicking? Mia still need big man to bang with DHoward to get out of the east, still can't match up with Bynum or Odom off bench.

Why are some mad at the NBA? These guys are free agents...meaning they can choose to play where they'd like right? This is what America is supposedly about.

Why are people hating on Lebron? Okay the special way poor conceived and in bad taste, but he owns Cleveland nothing. He played hard and did his best for 7 years.

The Lakers are the best franchise in sports. Jerry Buss & company will have his team ready for the 3peat.

Is that seriously from Dan Gilbert? Wow. I don't think i've seen an owner *#@! on a player that thoroughly. No sign and trade there.

well, it looks like the FA free for all is going to finally shake out. The Knicks, Bulls and Clippers have a lot of money to throw at not a lot of talent. Still a lot of medium level names out there, guys like David Lee, Ray Felton, Brad Miller, Richard Jefferson and Mike Miller would seem to be out of our price range.

I think we’ll offer the rest of the MLE, 1.7 mil or whatever, at somebody. I predict Fish will be back for around 7-8 mil for two years, although maybe less, since I’m not sure how much he is worth to the rest of the league. Love the guy, but we should offer him just slightly more than anybody else will offer. No sense in going crazy.

Honestly, I never hated Lebron as much as most of the people around here, I never really thought he had done anything significant enough to earn that much hate. But this whole thing tonight was tacky, offensive and narcissistic to a nauseating degree.

@(#* you, Lebron. I have nothing against Wade or Bosh, they handled themselves professionally. But jeez. If Kobe or Pau or anybody on the Lakers did this I would probably feel the same way. just not cool.

Just read in the Cleveland Plain Dealer and that's the open letter all right. Wow!
