Tweet of the Day: "RIP Lorenzen Wright. I was blessed to know him." -- RealLamarOdom (Lakers forward Lamar Odom)

Reader Comment of the Day:"love our off-season so far. the Steve Blake signing was all i had asked for this season in addition to retaining Brown and Fisher. the Barnes move is ok considering the toughness he brings to the table. Farmar never fit the system anyway and should do pretty well in New Jersey i think. i would've liked to have gotten Bell as another defensive stopper but oh well. also i love the upside of our draft picks after watching summer league. Ebanks is an Ariza clone, which is great and Caracter is the hustler we so desperately need off the bench. i feel the Ratliff deal was fairly irrelevant but he can at least do what Mbenga did for us. i feel like we addressed our most glaring need, bench production and intensity. i mean i cringed every time the second unit went in because they would constantly blow double digit leads and Phil would always leave them in to "let them work it out" as he puts it. then Kobe has to come in and play hero for us to win. i feel like we have to still be the favorites either way you look it regardless of what everyone else is doing. Artest has a full year of the triangle under his belt, Odom has big games when we need them, and hopefully Bynum can stay healthy. the other guys go without saying." -- SoCoolCurt

OH SWEET JESUS! LOL! Keep them coming folks we can reach (500) in another hour! LMAO!!!!!!

I'm heading out to Vegas in 2 weeks. What are the good spots to play slots or gamble? Any advice from anyone here?

My 20 dollars that i usually gamble are going to go for the Lakers Winning in 2011. I think thats a good gamble since every other team seems to be the favorite but the Lakers.

Oh man...I was taking the summer off from the blog. I pop in just to see wassup and see the equivalent of "The 300" trying to take on a world record blogdump and tiring badly...OK, I'm in...strokin' it from the corner.

Too bad we don't have DFish here to help out with his usual 30 or 40 posts obsessively stalking Fisher. We'd hit 500 easy. Posted by: CornerJ | August 01, 2010 at 05:35 AM

What's been the best film you guys have seen so far? SO far in my opinion all films have been weak and have not lived up to the hype. But if I had to choose i'd go for Day Breakers

ROFLMAO!! Thank God you caught that! we aint no stinking Michigan State Spartans!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Back to Laker related stuff-

If there is no significant injury to any player in the upcoming season, I do see the Lakers going for the best all time record in the regular season. I'd be happy if they reach 68 wins.

This upcoming season, the Lakers are expected to have more home games than road games, early in the season like last year because of the NBA All Star being played in LA.

Which means that the Grammys are going to be moved up a week earlier.

@FATTY, Thanks for opening the Blog officially, but... CornerJ, Joe Corrad
Adrian Palomar and Art-FL lakers Fan have been working over time to produce almost 100 extra posts to reach some stinking(500) Posts goal with no prize for reaching it! ROTFLMAO!

Only 75 more to go.

This is like the Lakers down by 15 against Portland in the 4th quarter, game 7,
or down by 13 against the Celts.

We need to rally.

We need an inspirational speech from Fish,

some big 3's,

who is gunna step up their game...

Yo, Fatty's back... The record is ours, dudes. No problemo.

Hey what was up with the whacked out trade talk about Delonte West? Man, that made me hurl up a furball or two.

Oh man I knew it. I always go with #3. Thanks Mamba.

Mamba24::

I, "EFFs" witchu on that Frank "OLD BLUE EYES" Sinatra and of course, Marvin!

Yeah..Def feelin that!

Fatty deserves a medal just for showing up, considering the Flood situation.

There's no prize?

Are you serious?

Ok then,

We don't need no stinkin' prize...

You know it's Lakerholism when you're blogging in the middle of the night in a $600 a night room under the covers on a frikkin iPhone, and there's someone hot next to you wondering why you're yelling "COME ON, WE CAN DO IT!!!"

The Lakers held the Mavs to 2 points, 3rd quarter, April 6, 1997

Held the CLipper to 3 points, Dec, 1997, oh well, was the Clippers.

Oops, the Clippers 3 point quarter was 1999, not '97

Has anyone ever seen Gary Vitti's girlfriend/wife? She is hot and she looks about 30 years younger.

Makes me want to be part of the Lakers organization, it guarantees you a hot wife.

(450) + WE'RE ON THE HOME STRETCH AND CRUISING AROUND THE BEND

Christmas Day, 2010...Lakers VS Miami Heave...103-9 ...Lebron, Wade, Bosh go 0-46...all their points are on free throws...

BE THERE!

Flagstaff weather forcast: Under a Flash flood watch all day and evening....ground is saturated from previous days heavy rain and will run off easily

Today: 90% chance of heavy rain, numerous thunderstorms each capable of dropping 3 inches + rain per hour

We had 1.25 at our house yesterday, but only .25 of an inch on the burned mt area which translated to a 12" wall of water flowing by us

My front levy can withstand 3 ft of water (might be topped today) I have a secondary diversion wall of 3 ft, 20 ft from the house, while my house has 4 ft of sand bags surrounding it.

The stress level has been increased by the fact that of the 1200 homes affected by the flooding (100 have been seriously damaged so far) is that none have flood insurance. Never was needed before and the government only on July 18th advised us to get it, which has a 30 day waiting period.

So we fight.......

@LROD, Sir your 72 Posts Record was fantastic and will always be viewed in awe. i though it would stand for millenia but sorry to say another Blogger may well, when the (500) posts record is reached have a record so staggering it will even make WILTS 100 points look shabby by comparison. LOL!

======================

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)—The basketball court isn’t the only place where Sacramento Kings player Tyreke Evans(notes) apparently likes to move fast.

A video released by the California Highway Patrol shows Evans speeding past vehicles on Interstate 80 in his purple Mercedes. CHP officers say he was driving 120 to 130 miles per hour.

The video of the 20-year-old NBA Rookie of the Year was shot from a plane on

After being stopped by police, Evans was arrested at gunpoint.

Authorities say the video offers evidence that Evans may have been racing another vehicle.

Attorneys say he pleaded no contest to reckless driving, was sentenced to 80 hours of community service, ordered to take part in teen driving programs and lost his license for 30 days.

In the annals of sports blogging, whenever bleary-eyed sports aficianados gather, our immortal effort will be spoken of in hushed tones. We who stood together against the wily forces of Morpheus, god of sleep (and part-time owner of some funky run-down theater that was named after him but had the "M" stolen), will be forever remembered...

Just sharing observations w/ the folks. I work at Staples Center, and one former player of the Lakers always comes back during the playoffs.

I always wonder why he was such a fan favorite. But now I can see why. Since he has no business to be around the Lakers when he was under contract with the Warriors last year; and is now destined to play for the Knicks. But every time he walked through the restaurant, all the Laker fans applauded Ronny Turiaf and appreciated his support to the Purple and Gold.

98 more minutes, 23 more posts and you've reached the 500 in one day goal.

Go Lakers!
