It's awfully quiet in TD Garden tonight.

I think something is wrong with Kobe's finger. He's missing some easy (for him) long jumpers. I thought I saw him shaking the finger in the middle of game #2.
Either that or the knee is bothering him. He just doesn't look like he did earlier in the playoffs when everything was going in.

Is it just me, or is Pau not being aggressive enough on offense?

Seems like he never wants to shoot - he'll an open shot from like 8 feet and pass it off instead. He's getting lots of touches that he just isn't shooting.

Good defense by Farmar drawing the charge.

Someone please tell LO that the Finals has started. Thanks.

Thank God for Derek Fisher and Andrew Bynum.

That is BS!!!! Rondo Fouled Him

HEY ALL YOU CELTIC TROLLS!!!

HOW YA LIKE US NOW!!!!

HEY DFISH!!!!

GET A FREAKIN' LIFE!!!

DEREK FISHER WON THE GAME TONIGHT, AND IF YOU DENY IT YOU'RE A BIG OLD LOSER.

HEY PAUL PIERCE!!!

YOU MAY BE RIGHT!!!

THIS SERIES MIGHT NOT COME BACK TO LOS ANGELES!!!

AWWWWW YEEEEEEAH BOYEEEEEEEE

at this point there has to be a moratorium on negative comments on Fish during the regular season. he's obviously a post season player.

WELCOME TO BEAN TOWN!!!

KOBE BEAN TOWN!!!!

Great defensive effort tonight. Now that was championship defense. What a difference having Drew this time around makes.

I expect us to take one more in Boston, and then wrap it up at home in Game 6.

DFISH.

Fisher is God!
He owns you!
and your mom!

Dear Paula:

Oh, and by the way...

The Lakers were PLUS THIRTEEN with Luke Walton on the floor...

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Luke haters.

Derek you made our day!!!Thanks a lot!!!Kobe seems so tired....I think we have shown toughness in this game. I like how they weather the storm through out the game. It's a tough win!! Now for "Paula the False Prophet Pierce", Artest is really making you a false prophet..sorry Magic Johnson, you always made the wrong guess, you are a Laker and you are guessing Boston may win...it's a shame!!!!!One more Lakers!!!!

Champions show resiliency against all odds.

Champions show that heart of a champion is not a myth.

Champions shrug off controversy, officiating faux pas and tough nights.

Champions win on the road.

Champions STEAL home court.

We are the 2009 champions. Soon to be 2010. Recognize.

Go Lakers! #2togo.

again the Celtics are back to their slower, older, not smarter than the Lakers self.

from now on, I am going to use this as my signature until we put away the Celtics. Although by that time, these Celtics troll might be long gone. LOL
HAhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Important new stats for the pundits next year:
Phil Jackson teams 47-1 after winning Game 1 of a playoff series.
And, Lakers now 2-10 against Celtics in Finals.
Let PJ go to New York and Fish go to the Clippers.
Blow it up, Mitch!

DON'T KNOW HOW THE NBA MADE THE CELTICS APPEAR YOUNGER, QUICKER AND BETTER IN A MATTER OF JUST DAYS, BUT KUDOS.

Hey Ricky,

You don't have to worry about Pau having to take on all those Celtic bigs...

Tonight Fish shot a higher percentage than Pau, and saved the game in the fourth, when Pau wasn't man enough to take over the game.

And tonight, Kobe got 3 blocks to help out on the Celtics bigs.

It's a TEAM sport, and Kobe's and Pau's TEAMMATES came through tonight.

And you're a big loser to believe in the Celtics more than the Lakers. Are you going to cry when the Lakers win the series and Pau isn't the MVP?

MM--Can you post a blog about how unfair a review rule is that let's a blatant foul get rewarded by giving the ball to the offending team just because the ball was knocked off the fouled player.

Great Win!!! My blood pressure has leveled.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE REFEREES FOR WINNING THE GAME FOR THE LAKERS... AS USUAL, IT'S 5 (CELTICS) AGAINTS 8 (LAKERS AND THE REFS) INSIDE THE COURT.

I have to include PP's prediction which is still alive btw. LOL

"We ain't coming back to L.A.," Pierce had said in the late moments of Boston's victory over the Lakers in Game 2 at Staples Center on Sunday.

LONGTIMELAKERFAN - KOBE IS LOOKING FOR HIS UNDERWEAR, YOU CAN STOP SMELLING IT NOW!!!

tarugo ou taruguinho,

The refs made a bunch of calls favoring the Celts, so...
CRYYYYYYYYYYYY, baby CRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

HCA regained just like that...in Beantown no less...now let's close out this series and have a parade.

Let's go Lakers...all the way to a repeat!!!!!

GREAT IDEA--PICK & ROLL D-FISH & KOBEI

Payback is a beach!

Now Boston, how does it feel to have the calls go the other way?

The foul on Odom was CLEAR!!!!! And they give the ball to the Trolls...I mean the Celts.

Oh yeah, and before I forget, hats off to DFish who showed what a true champion is made of.

Pau looked physically fucked today, he got short on his free throws and was slow lifting hands and gaining position, jeez, i hope he gets better to next match. He really needs holidays, 4 years no rest=burned

KEEP IT COMING... GO TARUGO! ENJOY MY TARUGO LAKER FANS!

Lakers obviously stronger with Bynum in in the 4th; surprised they didn't stick with him.

YES AND I THANK THE REFS!!!!
HOW YOU LIKE IT NOW? HOW YOU LIKE IT NOW?

My my, boys and girls, that was a great game! Incredible contributions from everywhere -- big plays, small plays, all kinds of plays!

Credit to Phil for some key adjustments, including getting Odom in earlier in the 1st quarter. Put him in a better rhythm.

And how about Sasha with the two FTs? Not bad.

I LOVE this team!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE REFS! HOW MUCH $$$$$ ?

DOC RIVERS WITH THE BONEHEAD PLAY OF THE NIGHT. LOL.

KARMA FOR THAT RUSHING ON COURT TO CALL A TIMEOUT.

HOW YOU LIKE IT NOW? HOW YOU LIKE IT NOW?

TARUGO IS CRYING LIKE A BABY. LOL

WHAAAAAAAAAAA WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

LOSER LOSER!!!!

HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

GOD I LOVE READING THE HATERS CRY LIKE BABIES IN HERE. I'LL STAY UP ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!
THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!

PAYBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

And what kind of rule lets you review who touched the ball last, but not call the damn foul?!?!

I've thought all along that it is ok to let Garnett get going -- keep Pierce and Rondo under control and we are good. Allen going 0'fer offset by the great play off the Celtic bench. Neither will happen every night.

I can't complain about any Laker tonight, sorry, doesn't matter. I am worried about Drew's knee, though...

This may be the best defensive Lakers team ever. They have learned to neutralize every kind of opponent (Thunder, Jazz, Suns and now Celts). Andrew is really learning how to play defense. If only Artest had a clue on offense, we'd be really unstoppable.

Is "how you like me now?" the song that plays when the hamsters rock or the puppet monkey?

Either way, fitting.

TEAMN,

It was clearly the rule. It's flawed but let it go. No one's perfect but it's better than judgement calls near the end of close games.

How about ZERO FOR THIRTEEN!

Maybe ZERO FOR EIGHT sounds better.

Where's your smug face now, Ray-Ray?

DFISH saves the day!!!!!!!

Allen 0 -13 FG!!!! LOL

so does it mean Fisher is a good defender????

hahahaha

TROLL, SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE.

The refs didn't shoot 0 for 13. Ray Allen did.

The refs even GAVE YOU A BALL that should have been a foul on Rondo at the end, and your team STILL lost.

They GAVE YOU a foul on Kobe who didn't touch Fat-Bastard Davis, and your team STILL lost.

Loser

SEE YA...

WOW! Veteran leadership and a huge game from Bynum. My Guys! I'm so happy!

mti312,

I would have been ... unhappy if the Lakers had lost as a result of that play. One of those odd unintended consequences of a new rule, I guess. At least Pau was able to work Garnett into a turnover after that!

Great, great game. What a high after a win like that!

GAWD how AWESOME! To go to the house of Evil and win a game.....WOW!

Hi fellow Laker bloggers!!!

Tarugo was a nasty hater from the early days and was totally banned by K Bros.
I know this because I stood up to him and his likes in the early day before posts were regulated.

I remember I put him in his place by telling what his handle 'Tarugo' translated in other languages!!

1. tarugo
male penis (Pilipino, street language)

2. tarugo

Tagalog) The tip or "head" of a circumsized penis. In English, this is known as the "dickhead" or "German Helmet".
Contrary to common usage, it does not refer to the entire penis.

3. tarugo
Spanish slang for stupid, slow, or idiot
como estas tan tarugo!
why are you an idiot!

Hey Paul, you cant handle the truth, I have your ticket for LA

Enjoy!!!

Aaaaaarrrrrhhhhh!!!

Angry_Laker

exactly, Faith. That's why i repeat it just like the commercial. LOL.

The reason the Celts won game 2 was because they resembled a run and gun team which is the Lakers' weakness. But Boston is not that and it showed tonight.

Ray Allen had a Lamar Odom moment in game 2, as in lucky as Amare called it.

Where's Dewey and Abe?????

damn, cant wait to hear from them.

Wow, this may not come back to LA.

Kobe almost costs us the game... Hope he will bounce back next game!!!!

I can read the BLOG all daaaaaaaaaaaaay looooooooooooong!!!!

DFISHHHHHHHH!!! Heart of a champion, picking up the mamba's slack. BOW DOWN! REPEATTT!!!

D-FISH
D-FISH
D-FISH

Haters on here prett ymuch wasted a whole year of their lives trying to convince everyone here that this dude is washed up!

GO DEREK!

GO LAKERS! 2010 WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!

BTW,
in the 32 previous Finals where both teams sprit the first two games, the winner of game three has won the title 28 times!

Couple that with Jackson's 37-0 record when winning the first game of a series and you've got yourselves a world champion!!!!!!!!!

Trollugo,

>>>LONGTIMELAKERFAN - KOBE IS LOOKING FOR HIS UNDERWEAR,
>>> YOU CAN STOP SMELLING IT NOW!!!

Kobe had a bad game tonight, but the Lakers didn't even need him.

How does it feel to have Luke Walton play significant minutes and beat your precious Celtics?

How does it feel to have AARP representative Derek Fisher outplay your point guard who the Celtic-ass-kissing press was calling the MVP of the playoffs? How many times did Fish blow right past Rondo and score in the 4th? 3 times? 4 times?

Lakers should send in Sasha and then Adam Morrison for a quarter to do nothing but foul Rondo. The C's would go scoreless for a quarter on Rondo's 0-for-whatever from the free throw line.

Nice game for Kevin Garnett, by the way. At least you had a big 1.

where was Rhonda tonight? Remember when AI was shutdown by Kobe in the Finals? Very similar.

So great to see the adjustments on Rondo and Allen.

Anyone know if that foul against Fish late in the game can be reviewed? Looked an awful lot like a flagrant whack on the head.

I love it
Doc Rivers crying about the calls in the post game interview.

The one that was off garnett ... he started talking aboutthe different camera angle didn't show conclusive evidence to overturn

WHAT A LAUGH

HEY DOC, THERE WAS THE ONE VIDEO ANGLE THAT SHOWED WITH A 100% CERTAINTY THAT IT WAS OFF GARNETT. THAT'S ALL IT TAKES.

YOU TRYING TO GET SYMPATHY BECAUSE OTHER ANGLES DIDN'T SHOW IT CLEARLY

DOC RIVERS IS A CRY BABY

GLAD TO SEE THAT SMUGNESS WIPED OFF HIS FACE.

My favorite moment in the game. Sheed shooting the treys. At first, the crowd was cheering in unison SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!! And not even close. The next couple of times, no more cheering, same result. LOL

LongTimeLakerFan,

You are on fire! I would love to see Sasha get in Rondo's head. Seriously, those were two pretty big FTs the kid made. Made it a three possession game. Funny to see him laughing in the huddle afterwards.

PIERCE NEEDS TO DO HIS INFAMOUS WHEELCHAIR ACT TO GAIN MOMENTUM NEXT GAME OR IT WILL BE OVER IN 5 ..... lol

Gasol is MIA today... KG is KG again!!!!

Go Lakers!!!

Great win!!! Fisher is da man. Ms Pierce musta been looking thru that same crystal ball Stevie Nash was staring at when he saw a Sun victory. Now Ms Pierce has to look at the crystal ball again to see if he won't come back because the Lakers will take his team out in Boston. Keep staring though, the answer is there.

doc was crying about that overrule because he called timeout and cost them a possession. That was bad decision making. Again, karma for that non technical when he stormed the court to call a time out in game 2

Jon Barry predicted Wallace to shoot 4 3pt!!!! LMAO

Kobe said something to him after he made the first ft that made him laugh.

Very nice critical win! I love that Paul had no bite given his propensity to bark. Good game by KG, which I like to see even as a Laker fan. We had a bad offensive night (Fish excluded) and still grabbed home court. Not a good sign for the Celtics. Lakers in six...

Ok - I'm going to replay that game on tivo but fish was amazing. I have to admit I've ragged on fish all season. I wanted him put on the bench or retire. We all have to remember that next year when he is resigned. Lakers need him!! Regular season doesn't count - we need his leadership in the playoffs. He can make all the boneheaded plays, layups, pujit in the regular season as long as the Lakers get a playoff berth.

He shows up when it counts. That's when he plays his best ball.

Dang - we could be up 3-0!!!!!!!!!!

mti312,

Yeah, I saw that too. Good job by Kobe to loosen things up.

I may be imagining this of course, but it really seems like these guys pull for each other. Good chemistry has been developing the past three years or so. Guys really pumped up -- not in a "look at me way" way ala Garnett or whatever the hell Davis was doing with his mouth and tongue, but in a pulling for each other, got your back fashion.

I'm sure none of that made sense!

Interesting -- both teams shot 24 FTs, so Celtic trolls should stop complaining about the refs. Lakers limited Celtic offensive rebounds, had fewer turnovers, and had more rebounds and blocks overall. So, not a great shooting night for anyone not named Fisher, but a gritty win with key contributions from everyone.

Props to Sasha for shooting those clutch free throws!

Great great play by Fisher.

Scott, about Sun Yue having more rings than LEBron... and he needed fewer points to accomplish the feat

who wants to bet that Pierce throws in the wheelchair in Game 4? It's in the bank!

We won and it's really really good! The Celtics thought they can just shoot 3's to beat us, they seem to forget the Laker is the no.1 team in defending the 3's. That's the reason why Garnet and Davis had their moments, the Lakers spread their defense a little bit further to protect the 3's but I will give credit to Garnet he played really good. Kobe needs a lot of rest. I think he's really really tired having less than 2 days rest, this I say to both teams, most of the starting five for both teams were dead tired during the stretch, especially during the 4th qtr, Phil surprised them to go pick and roll using Kobe and Fish, the Celtics did not anticipate that and it worked. I want to see Sasha plays in game 4 instead of Brown..I think Farmar and Sasha's tandem is better than Farmar and Brown, coz Brown used to dribble a lot instead of moving the ball...anyway it's a great night for us Lakers fans and for the trolls SORRY WE WON!!!!!Do not worry you got 2nd prize....

This was a game the Lakers invariably blow open in the 1st half and a game the C's usually eke out in the 2nd half. Just a few thoughts.

1. This game was a few boneheaded offensive possessions away from being a blowout. Once again, Shannon Brown takes an ill-advised trey, then Farmar decides to do the same, then Farmar loses the handle going to the hole. A 17 pt. lead cut to 11, and LA was never able to get it above 14 the rest of the way.

2. Were it not for Rondo (again), KG, and Davis, this game would have been *really* ugly for the C's. Credit especially to Davis for strong and savvy play.

3. Reports of Lamar Odom's demise have been slightly exaggerated. Although he inexplicably lost the defensive battle against a smaller Davis a few times tonight, he hit some big shots, got some big rebounds, and helped close out the game.

4. Gasol reverted slightly to 08 Gasol tonight, but seemed to get comfortable and get a couple of key buckets in the second half to keep the C's at arm's length.

5. Bynum is making a big difference. The offense flowed better when he was on the floor. His rebounding and continued advantage v. Kendrick Perkins was important tonight.

6. Kobe's game tonight was a microcosm of his career. Thrilling and awesome at times, mind-numbing and maddening at other times, but he was there in the end. His assists and defense were key as well.

7. Artest was, well, Our Test, but the proof is in the pudding. Pierce is a non-factor and Ron Ron has a whole lot to do with that.

8. D-LAKER. As I told mamba24 a month ago, I'm on the Ride or Die with Fisher bandwagon. He was the difference in the game. He's not D-Fish. He's D-LAKER.

Let's see what happens now. Gordon Gecko wouldn't lie to you Lakers, when it comes to knocking out the C's, greed is good. Take Game 4 Thursday!

Laker fan-

No need to watch the game ....

131,

You might want to keep your day job. :)

FEAR THE FISH

Lakers proved that they could also win a grind it out game. Fish was big time and the Lakers should re-sign him in the offseason, period. His leadership and the intangibles he brings are priceless. LO, Pau and Drew gave us a solid effort tonight. Drew is giving us good minutes and production.

The Lakers must remained focused and locked in defensively in order to keep winning. Again, we won the battle on the boards and played sound defense which are the key ingredients for us in this series. What I'm disgusted about is how all the analysts(espn, nbatv)are not giving the Lakers defense enough credit and basically saying again that it's what the Celtics aren't doing. I really can't stand Jon Barry and Michael Wilbon. The guys are nbatv were a little more balanced in their perspective of the game. Earlier in the day, Jamal Mashburn and Avery Johnson both picked the Celtics to win with Mashburn even saying that the Celtics were going to sweep the Lakers in Boston and the series was not returning to LA. A lot of these guys flip flop every game.

Paul Pierce didn't help the Celtic cause by what he said during game 2 and how he played tonight. Credit Ron Artest for just playing tough, physical, hard-nosed defense on Pierce so far this series.

I expect the Celtics to come back hard in game 4, but the Lakers need to jump on them from the start, playing tough defense and rebound the ball. I expect a more efficient game from Kobe in game 4 and more from our bigs as well. Good win tonight, but the Lakers need to stay focused and determined to get 2 more wins.

wow!!! ugly grind it out game but totally satisfying. fish came up big, huge in the 4th quarter and was the difference maker. kobe played a soso game but his aggressiveness and energy was still a factor in the game. and dispite what the others are saying in this blog, i thought pau played a tough game and played it well. the key play of the game was with the lakers up 84-81, ray allen missed a relatively open three from the corner and then fish took it all the way over three celts to really put the game out of reach. happy for fish. i am recommending his jersey to be retired next to kobe's, not so much because he is a laker superstar, but because of his clutch play and his huge heart. what a wonderful symbol to have his jersey in the rafters based on Heart.

Pau Gasol the CHOCKER from Memphis: Part II
by ouchhhhhhhhhhh at 6:13 PM Copy&paste from lakers chat

What up ouchhhhhhhhhh. You must hate it when Pau has a good game and lakers win. lol lol

hey big baby, van gundy is right. stick your ugly tongue back in your mouth! you lost!

No one has mentioned it so I will. Lamar was 5 of 5 tonight. Welcome back to LA 2010 Lamar!

I expect a lot less trolls for the next couple of days.

Coincidence, I think not.

another record being set by the record-setter Ray Allen, this guy is amazing...no, amusing, 0 for 13 FG made, 0 for 8 3PG made, yeah beat that! wahahahahaha!

MM,

Your "simulation" of the Finals predicted Celtics in 5.

If we play well and are able to stand rallies in the next two games, then it might be Lakers in 5!!

So much for all that 2K10 simulation.... LOL

Is it MM's "simulation" what "stimulated" the Lakers on their way to the championship??

This is one of those games that real fans will always remember. It wasn't pretty, nobody was shooting lights out, there weren't awesome dunks or miracle buzzer beaters. We're used to seeing Fish put up rainbows at opportune times but his strength has never been at the rim or fighting through screens. Tonight, he played smart, strong and with a ton of heart. Truly a winner.

I like wins like these... I think this game says a lot about the Lakers defense before anything else.

All year long... pundits have called our defense as porous at best... now we know we can hang with the best of them defense..

Go Lakers!!!

Go Kobe!!!

Can someone tell me what's up with Ticket Stub's facial expressions? Good player, weird dude...I expect at least one sexual nightmare tonight!
