Is anyone else feeling conflicted about this?

Considering his amazing track record, and what he has meant to the Lakers over the many years, I would love to hear Jeffrey Osborne sing the national anthem on Thursday night.

On the other hand, Christina Aguilera gave a wonderful rendition yesterday evening, and we ALL witnessed the beatdown the Purple & Gold put on the Green Slime.

So...who do we want to sing the anthem and lead Lakers Nation into Game 7?

P & G R

P.S. Mamba24 (Larry) why has my name mysterious disappeared from the Roll Call and the Bandwagons? You know I have been here for years, right? I don't post as often as some others, but make no mistake, my Heart Bleeds Royal Purple & Gold...

*clears throat*

I would like to thank all the Boston trolls who gave us mounds and mounds of fodder to make fun of you. Captain Jack, 131, Tully, etc... and so forth. It feels SO good to just rub your little green faces in it.

KG? Ray? Rondo? Couldn't get it done. Couldn't. Didn't. LOST. By 22, which is my new favorite number.

Fat lady didn't sing. Christina Aguilara did. And she killed it!!!! No women that look like her in Boston. Maybe that's what distracted the small 3.

How about Pau's almost triple double? How about Ron's offense? How about Ron's defense? How about freakin' Jordan coming up with the 50/50 balls? Not to mention stuffing it over KG's head. How about Shannon's dunk? Oh you know you wish anyone on the C's could get up that high.

And in terms of Perkins, I'm glad it's not a career ending injury. But am I glad he'll more than likely be out for the series? Oh you bet I am. More than glad. And it's not because I'm afraid - I know we can beat you without him. It's because I straight up hate Boston. Now more than ever. At this stage in the game all my ability to be compassionate has left the building, and shutting up the Boston fans and their players? Well. That will be just grand.

1 away, baby. 1 away. It's not 2008 anymore, is it C's? Nope. And I LOVE IT!!!

GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!

KOBE's not trippin' but he ain't no "buzz kill" just cause he doesn't buy into the history of this. Yesterday's gone, game 7 is here and it's winnin' time. He's quiet, confident and it's contagious.

The Bench Mob is back, awake, on the SC highlight reel. There is nothin' like confidence in this game and confidence sleeps at home.

That's why we play the regular season. To Celebrate at home! GO LAkers!

It's a great morning with a sense of unfinished business. That game last night was the best I've seen the Lakers play since, ever. The intensity, the hustle, the effort coming out of every player was off the charts. Last night it didn't matter who the Lakers were playing, they were going to kill. It certainly didn't matter that Kendrick Perkins' knee crumbled under the weight of Beast. We would have won the game anyway.

Game 7. I'm expecting the Celtics to come out with a different attitude and effort. We have to gaurd against that emotional lift that teams get when they try to compensate for a loss of one of their key players. Usually the emotional lift lasts about a game or 2. So game 7 will not be easy, it'll take the same effort, if not more on Thursday.

Another thing to think about is what kinds of adjustments the Celtics will make without Perk. They are going to have to pick up the pace of the game and run on every opportunity. The gaurds will have to be aware of that and be ready to try to stay in front of Rondo the whole game.

Look, without Perkins, the Celtics will be at a major disadvantage. This can either be an advantage for the Lakers, or it could be a trap. With the championship on the line Thursday, there's no way, NO WAY the Lakers can let this be a trap. It's got to be ALL OUT intensity, hustle, and effort. We don't got this yet.

1 more game! Let's do this!
We can do this!
Go Lakers!

Los Angeles, the City of Angels.

The city of Champions!

We win this one, win another, and pretty soon Boston is FOREVER irrelevant because they no more have the lead in the rings department, and Red is done as the winningnest coach in basketball already. A LAKER coach has that title now. Oh yes. He does. Red's out, Boston will be out, and that will be all she wrote.

Purple and gold baby, all day, all the way.

GO LAKERS!!!!!

There's nothing to buy into Vman.

The 80s were the 80s. The 60s were the 60s. The only thing that's the same is the jerseys, but the people and times are totally different.

So this Boston is 4-0 vs Lakers in game 7s can kiss it.

I was somewhat worried about the Lakers blowing the Celts out in game 6, because usually in a series, blowouts are followed by losses. But, I think with Kobe manning the ship and with it a must win for everyone, the Lakers will bring as much intensity as last night.

When they interviewed Kobe immediately after the game, the lady says to him "You have not won two games in a row this whole series"

That's pretty much the alarm bell that everyone needs to hear.

I'm not cheering this morning. There's nothing to cheer about. This was the game I expected in game 5. By failing to show up that night, it opened the door to let the unthinkable happen: an inferior team winning the title.

LOL ... So the fact that we lead in the "Rings department" makes the Lakers irrelevent now?

You dont need trolls to talk smack about you ... you do it to yourself.

MAKE NO MISTAKE 131-92 IS A TROLL .

HAHAHA HE PRETENDS TO BE NICE BUT .....

Kevin-

Just sit back and enjoy Laker fan going at each other's throat.

If they happen to win, youll see how they all come back and say ... "I knew we had this."

Maybe now they realize why I call Run Run ... Dribble Dribble.

LMFAO last nite when the toughest baddest man on the planet resorted to flopping when Rondo barely touched him. I feared he was gonna kick anybodys @ss that had the nerve to mess with the Lakers in the Finals or look at a Laker the wrong way. Wasnt that why you got him? Or was it he outstanding D? Or was it his outside shooting? I know ... his high BK IQ! No, wait it was his free throw shooting in the clutch. LOL ... Reminded me of Vince Carter.

Where is POMPOUS LakerTom? Doesnt write much in defeat. Had the Lakers won he would had write up after written about how he knew it all along. And reposted it every 5 minutes. To make sure everyone read it. Wait for his "Keys to winning game 6" post tomorrow. Its a must read.

WE HAVENT WON ANYTHING YET.

LET STAY SHARP, FOCUS & AGGRESSIVE . DON'T FORGET TO RECHARGE OUR ENRGY ON THE FLOOR!

TOMORROW WE'LL GO FOR THE KILL!

GO LAKERS!!!!!

it's funny how the Celtics fans, especially 131-92 a.k.a. Just 67 put and asterisk* to the Lakers 2009 Championship because KG was hurt (go figure)

but they do not recognize that should be an asterisk* for their 2008 Championship because we did not have Bynum.

i'm Kinda glad that Perkins will not play. maybe they will learn what it means to play without the team's center and what that means for the team and the disadvantage it brings.

they will have to taste the same medicine.

karma??????????
enjoy you punks!!!!!!!!!!!

GAME 7 - THE BIG PAYBACK - AND A RING THAT'S A FACT –
ONE MORE WIN TO BE ETERNAL -BANDWAGON
*______*
(00) PHIL JACKSON – 10RINGS – It’s about who comes out and DICTATES the GAME.
(00) KOBE BRYANT - Yeah, there's a danger, but we're used to being in must-win situations. The way we look at it, it's just a game we've got to win. We've been in must-win situations before, so we have to approach it the same way. It's a game we've got to win, simple as that. I'm not going crazy over it. We've got to take care of business The opportunity is not something that makes me happy, it's winning and taking advantage of the opportunity that makes me happy. That buzzer goes off and we're not victorious, am I thankful for the opportunity? Nope. It has nothing to do with the last game. It's all about the present, I KNOW WHAT’S AT STAKE, BUT I’M NOT TRIPPING. The squad has the intention to close this thing out on Thursday night, Game 7. They don't have a choice. GOT TO!!!.
(00) LAMAR ODOM – It’s AMAZING what you can accomplish when you are FACING DEATH and looking at YOUR GRAVE.
(00) utzworld THE BANNER HOLDER - Don't PARTY too HARD. There is yet one more Game Day Prayer.
*______*
(01) 2PHATT- OWNER – WE ARE looking for some serious BEATDOWN come Thr.
(02) DWNTWNATTY - DRIVER -As I said, we went into Game 6 retaining home court advantage. It's relevant, it's significant, and here we are at Game FREAKING 7, with the ball in our court! One last battle! One last push for victory! I'm absolutely fired up here. The Lakers came out prepared, focused and ready to compete baby!!! Trolls, you think Lakers are going to come out weak in game 7? I wouldn't bet on it. What's that you say, you little green trolls? Oh that's right, Nothing, because you disappear into the air when faced with adversity. Talk a lot of mess, and then when you get SOCKED IN THE MOUTH, you get real quiet. I can't here you. not so fired up?
(03) LAKERMIKE - RIDING SHOTGUN - GAME 7 ... LAKERS~CELTICS ... FINALITY . . .June 2010: Boston 1, Lakers 1 (on VERY recent scoreboard). Lakers "what if" questions about 2008 aside. Celtics classless "you were lucky" assertions about 2009 aside. It arrives at this... no excuses... no conditions... GAME 7 LAKERS ~ CELTICS, RUBBER GAME. .WINNER TRUMPS ALL!!!

(62) ALLNET - Terrific win – but, up 25 points with just 5 minutes left, WHY did Phil still have Kobe and Pau in the game? Didn’t he see what just happened to Perkins? Why risk injuries to his two best players? And just as important, why not conserve some of their energy for the final game? What if the game goes into overtime? Will Kobe and Pau still have enough gas left in the tank??
(63) 921- 131 - GIVE CREDIT TO RON'S DEFENSE ON PAULA PIERCE, STELLAR -D AND gravey on the offense, his plus/minus highest 26...

good point. Gasol gets lost in his anal comments. totally idiotic.

i wish he will do the WALK and not only the TALK.

Oh, what a wonderful day. We have another game to watch on Thursday, leprechauns are sad and worried while Lakers have 18 hours to relish joy, contentment and celebration. By game time tomorrow, back to tension of what the future brings.

Have faith and believe on the purple and gold. Don't project, hold on the euphoria till the parade next week.

Go Lakers, let's try to achieve the score 131-92 to silence the blogger who has been tormenting us all day since 2008. LOL!

Switzerland just took down the heavy favorite Spanish team in the World Cup, 1 to zilch.

Like they have done in so many Laker championship games, the refs were doing their utmost (without being too, too obvious) to facilitate a Spanish victory.

Not to be. The Swiss handled them.

A seventh game coming up for the Hollywood troupe. You have yet to win two in a row in this series. Boston already knows they can beat you at Staples. Ratchet up those sphincters.

Not you Ricky eff. You just take it easy now. O.K.?

Scene: Larry and Justa's virtual home in Laker land. Justa is holding a strange Purple and Gold spray can and a tiny beat up leprechaun in her hands.

Justa: Hon, I just found this, it looks like can of Troll Be Gone.

Larry: No, it's a can of Whoop Azz.

Justa: Don't think so, it's def a can of Troll Be Fraking Gone.

Larry: No, it's DEF a can of Whoop Azz, and I've got a Bandwagon that says so!

Suddenly a deep voice with a ton of reverb chimes in.

God: Justa, Larry you're both right, it's a can of Troll Be Gone and It's A Can of Whoop Azz, it's Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Justa and Larry look at each other smiling nodding in agreement.

God: Justa quit bugging me about that ipad.

You dont need trolls to talk smack about you ... you do it to yourself.

I love you 131!! Congratulations on your loss!!! It was fun to watch. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day, and I blow kisses in your general direction!!!

LAKERS!!!!!!!

No gloating. There's still work to do.

Go Lake Show!

Good Morning, Laker Nation!

I'm off from Tulsa! I just wanted to say, "Hello!"

With each mile I approach Los Angeles the Lakers grow mightier!

Let's go!

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!!

Shannon Brown, he's a keeper. Let Magic Johnson train this kid and he will be better than Rondo because he knows how to shoot on the free throw line. LMAO!

For all the smudge that Rondo is capable of like: holding, shoving, going under a Laker player, retaliating at RA with one SMACK on the chin he finally got a sweet revenge from crazy RonRon. Next time, he will remember his destiny in NBA and choose competitor. If he wants to retire as an NBA player then he has to avoid smacking with RonRon because he is on a no-win situation.

Maybe just maybe, our purple and gold TEAM is peaking at just the right time? Phil always says this is a marathon. Well, my Laker friends - we are nearing the end but with a very strong finish.

Loved the game plan at the start - great tweaks to open up floor, get a lead and keep it. I don't think this Laker team will be letting any more leads go in a Game 7. I just don't. One more win - friends.... eye on the prize!

PLG

First Great Bulletin Board Quote for Game 7 from, of course, Big Baby: "We deserve it more..."

LOL. He just sealed their fate. It is going to be soooooooooooooo sweet to see Pierce, KG and especially Baby have to eat humble pie on 7. I can't think of a group of men that deserve to be humbled more.

Oh, just for a laugh, check out Baby's grammar in the following quote: "We could have gave up a long time ago and look forward to next year."

Ah, that great LSU education.

WE GOT THIS!

IT'S WINNIN' TIME, DUDES!

Pau has mixed emotions. Spanish fans of Pau must be in the state of mourning at this time because they would rather lose the NBA than the world cup which is tied up with the State of the Nation.

Condolence Spain, it's not over till it's over. On Friday, it will be another trial for USA against the country of Sasha Vujacic. If USA loses, Sasha will be traded. lol!

Before we get all busy counting our rings, let's just wait and see what happens Thursday.

I've seen a lot of Wooden quotes on this blog lately, and tying the series is certainly a great feeling, but I'm sure Coach W wouldn't be planning his victory parade before the final game is played.

As for Perk, I wouldn't be shocked if we were seeing another Paula "Beetlejuice" Pierce wheelchair incident and he hops out in Game 7 like nothing ever happened.

Win or Lose, I'm sticking around staples after game 7 and rocking their stupid green bus silly. Payback that green slime. Let them boil in that bus and know there's no chance for them to come back as their old bodies fail and Doc and Raylien flee while they're hamstrung by KGs fat contract and a worthless 'Sheed stinkin up their roster.

Apparently, there were BOXES of Celtic 2010 Championship Gear in the locker room ready for last night's post game celebration -- along with Celtics luminaries like Bill Russell who, it is reported, left the game, disgusted, with 3 minutes left to play.

Remember Trolls that I mentioned you could buy Celtic 2010 Championship Gear CHEAP on Friday Morning -- I might buy some myself, it could be a collectable, like Dewey Beats Truman newspapers!

WE GOT THIS!

BLöG CЯüE
I'm signing in for the day. One more game, stay focused, win Thursday.

Cölöradö löves öür Wörld Champiön Lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MM,

No sound on the Odom vid.

Wes

The thing about Shannon Brown is that he's opting out, is he not?

If he weren't, then I'd be fairly hopeful that he'd work out with a great player - I'm sure Magic would take him up if he asked.

Frankly, I don't know why more players (especially about the skill level of UPS) don't ask better players to make this sort of arrangement, even if the arrangement is part-time.

Ariza sort of did. Butler (Caron, not the troll) did. Magic did. Kobe did.

And that just proves the point, the greats are understanding when someone makes this request because they themselves are willing to do it.

In poker, it's the same way - the better players help the lesser players. You'd be amazed at how often this happens.

Why don't guys getting paid MILLIONS do this more? I mean, seriously, just a few extra ppg, rpg, spg, asp - or big minutes or big moments = big dollars.

Totally worth it.

NOTHIN LIKE SOME HOME COOKIN...

when ron outscores pierce it equals automatic W.

huge emotional win...

no time to celebrate...

no time to make final predictions...

players need to stay focused and their mouths shut..

just go out and bring the same energy level.

pressure's back on the celts..

they will not come out flat next game..
but i'm hopin they come out really tight..

(sigh)

JUST ONE MORE BABY...

spread is 7... its lookin solid now.. i can almost taste it. (knock on wood)

I didn't see anyone point this out, but I saw a slow mo highlight of the Shannon Brown fast break dunk... and not like I was looking for it, but I couldn't miss it, there's Rondo SHOVING Kobe Bryant while Shannon is in mid air. WTH??

This sort of thing happens all the time w/ the Celts. It's an organization thing I think, sort of like Oakland Raiders (even though the reputation comes from the 70s)....

God: Justa, Larry you're both right, it's a can of Troll Be Gone and It's A Can of Whoop Azz, it's Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Justa and Larry look at each other smiling nodding in agreement. God: Justa quit bugging me about that ipad. Posted by: Mark G | June 16, 2010 at 09:04 AM

Hey, not counting on the ring yet, but it felt so good to rub it in to our Celtic Trolls here. I, for one, am having a blast!

Who lost last night? BOSTON LOST LAST NIGHT!!!!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!

@JUSTA, Be strong Justa, just one more day and the season will be over and the Virtual couple will vanish until next season. Lol!

Tell the truth.

Didn't y'all love watching Sasha & Artest hit their shots?

Edwin, you ever see that show "Bully Beat Down"? I have to admit, I crack up watching that show. Somehow they get this bully that has been tormenting some kid on the show. Then they put an MMA fighter in the ring to fight the bully. The MMA guy then procedes in kicking the crap out of the bully.

GREAT show and a guilty pleasure for sure. I picture Artest in a conversation with KG going on:

KG: Hey Ron, that elbow on my boy Rondo
Artest: Yeah, what about it?

KG: Let's play a clean game and let the best team win
Artest: You speak to me again and your next

LMAO

Now the truth can be revealed.

Jerry Buss ORDERED the Lakers to lose those last two games in Boston.

With all the short series in the first 3 rounds, he was losing money for the season. They needed two more home games worth of income to break even.

1 more game to 11 rings for Phil
1 more game to 5 rings for Kobe & Fish
1 more game to 1 ring for Crazy Pills
1 more game and Adam Morrison will have more rings than than any of the "big 3"
1 more game to bring it up to 17 for the franchise (only 1 shy of the evil Leprechauns)
1 more game to shut the boastful mouths of Pierce and KG for the summer.
...

and 1 more game until Jerry West breaks even for the season.

No rebounds, no rings, plain and simple. One game, bring it and get the job done. 2 proud teams, one title. This is what it's all about. Enjoy it, embrace it, love it or hate it. Lakers/Celtics, Celtics/Lakers, game 7. Nuff said.

@Tim-4-Show - i've seen it from the actual play but refs ignores shoving, pushing and slapping by the Celtics because of their so called physical defense... F@#$..... the referees!

Oh and lewstrs, I'm hoppin on that train

ROFLMAO!!!! YOU THINK? HAHA!

Mamba24 (Larry), Thank you for remembering me. It's great to be back on the lists.

One thing that has gone unmentioned from Game 6 is...the refereeing.

Did anyone notice them? Were there any controversial calls? Nope. And, that's the way it should always be. They stayed in the background -- where they belong! For the most part, they managed and kept control of the game, while letting the stars play...and stay on the court.

I don't think either coach, or players on either side, had any complaints.
Good job: #13 Monty McCutcheon, #14 Joe DeRosa, #41 Ken Mauer

Hopefully, the quality of the refereeing will be just as good for Game 7. Of course, if the do refs favor the home team *just a bit* I wouldn't complain.

That's what Homecourt Advantage is supposed to be for...right? lol

WHOOP IT UP LONGTIME WE DESERVE THIS!!

Tim-4-Show

>>>there's Rondo SHOVING Kobe Bryant while Shannon is in mid air. WTH??

It's part of what they do. ALWAYS trying to get in the cheap shot whenever possible. Don't forget Paul Pierce intentionally tripping Pau either. Posey was the most prolific at taking cheap shots - especially after a whistle had blown.

But to be honest, that's part of what you need to do to be a champion - claw, bite, scratch, whatever you can get away with. And the Lakers do it too. Though he was't looking in Rondo's direction when it happened, Artest's elbow seemed very well placed in that second half collision. It was the same with the Showtime Lakers. The first time the Lakers faced the Celtics, they got smacked down (see: McHale clothesline on Rambis). The next time up, the Lakers were smacking back and they won. Artest is someone who isn't afraid to smack back.

What's ironic is the first 2 games of the series, the refs were calling ALL of that extra contact. There were several players from both teams in foul trouble each game, so both coaches got whiny. Since then, it's been much more thug-ball. A basic shove or grab rarely gets called on either team, unless it's totally blatant, and sometimes not even then.

And notice that the scores have plummeted because of it. In the first two games, at least one team scored 100. Nobody has scored 100 since they switched to no-blood no-foul. 67 points. SIXTY-SEVEN!

So game 7 will be a heavyweight match with no holds barred. Expect at least one or two players from EACH side go out to get bleeding stopped or to get their wind back or to nurse a tweaked finger/elbow/knee/whatever.

But DaxxMD, that shove had NOTHING to do with defense. Brown was in the air already and Kobe didn't have the ball....

So it was just a shove for shove's sake. You know, like trying to goad a retaliation tech/suspension.

Maybe I'm not watching the game close enough (I'm better at it during the season when the games don't matter) - but is this sort of thing happening all throughout?

And the elbow to Rondo's face, to be fair, was totally incidental. Ron's arm was already up when Rondo starting aiming for it

@Tim-4-Show - i've seen it from the actual play but refs ignores shoving, pushing and slapping by the Celtics because of their so called physical defense... F@#$..... the referees! Posted by: DaxxMD | June 16, 2010 at 09:35 AM

Thats right PGR, we got it and tomorrow we got the Title! YESSSSSSSS!!!

Same effort on D and rebounds wins us game 7 and number 16!

pfunk and DFish must be happy. They got their ultimate combinations - the Lakers won, but Luke and Fish played poorly. Or maybe they'd have been happier if the Lakers LOST because of bad play by Luke or Fish.

But I've got something cooking in the oven for all you Sasha haters... Hang on a minute, let me get it out...

There you go:

Have a nice heaping helping of crow pie.

... and Farmar haters can have a slice of the crow pie as well.

Tim,

I'm with you and like Kobe, nothing to celebrate yet. It was a nice win, great team play.

During the replay of Shannons dunk last night I saw that push from Rondo on Kobe too, even had to stop and rewind. What a scumbag. A team of scumbags.

htj,

I am wondering the same thing, if Perkins does a Willis or wheelchair Paul event and comes to play game 7 to try and inspire the troops. I don't trust he won't play until we hear it definitively.

Loved that blow to the chin by Ron on Rondo. Though it appeared entirely accidental, that's how you keep that little turd from driving.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Wallace pick up that last T in the 4th of game 7 since the suspension will be meaningless.

I liked the pace and speed the Lakers played with, got lots of shots off earlier in the shot clock and great focus on getting the rebounds.
Excellent defense, swarming at times, but in all fairness the C's missed open shots. Not quite as easy on the road, is it Celtic fans.

The bench was nice to watch. Though many think he is useless, I would like to see Farmar given more PT to prove or disprove himself. Especially since the Lakers are going to have a tough time really upgrading at any position. Would like to see Fish and Farmar reverse rolls next year, but plenty of time for that kinda talk after this is over.

After game 5 there were an awful lot of posts calling for the heads of the entire team. Ball hog Kobe, trade always injured Drew, weak Gasol, useless Ron and LO, slow Fish, crappy bench. A bit premature eh?
How do you like them now?

Like how Drew made himself the equalizer and took out Perkins even though it was accidental, seems like a sort of justice there. Only fair to have a hobbled center on each team.

But Big Baby says the C's deserve it more. Huh? The drool must be running up into his brain.

PJ is 41-0 when winning game 1, Celts are undefeated when winning game 5.
This should be fun, one of those streaks is going to come to an end.

Whoever wins 1st quarter has won every game, be very interesting if the next game will be tied at the end of first quarter.

Home court advantage, game 7, things looking good.
Expect a full fledged thug attack on Thursday.

Unfortunately, LTLF, I will raise your speculation one: I think the only chance the Cs have is to intentionally go for a McHale moment. Something so sobering that it takes the Lakers out of the game mentally (in the same way that losing Perkins seems to have stunned them -- or at least wreaked havoc on their normal substitution patterns [I mean, Sheldon Williams in Game 6, come on!]).

So, I really think that Kobe and the guys have to be ready to step in and step up when the clothesline moment (or the PP trip of Pau or the KG foul on a dunk attempt AFTER a foul has already been called, or whatever) comes.

Yes, it should be a bloody affair worthy of the octagon.

The insult from 2008 is far from over, not until the Lakers end up beating the Celtics for the NBA title. If you think losing by 39 at the Boston Garden in 2008 is insulting, then letting the Celtics celebrate their championship at the Staples Center would be even more insulting. On paper the Lakers are the better team, but it definitely takes the heart of a lion to win it all this time. It's time for revenge, and there is no better place to do it than your own home floor. Go Lakers!

Bryant: You in the Finals?

Pierce: Not regularly.

Bryant: There's a passage I got memorized. Kobezekiel 24:16. "The path of the Champion is beset on all sides by the inequities of the Celtics and the tyranny of David Stern. Blessed is he who, in the name of HUNGER and MAD HEART, shepherds his team through the valley of the FINALS. For he is truly his teammate's keeper and the finder of lost RINGS. And I will strike down upon thee with GREAT VENGEANCE and FURIOUS ANGER those who attempt to poison and destroy my BANNERS. And you will know I AM THE CHAMP when I lay my vengeance upon you." I been playin' like that for years. And if you ever saw it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought I was just a cold-blooded thing to UNLEASH on a motherf@#ker before I snatched a Championship from your ass. But I saw some ish last night made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 37 here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of the Finals. Or it could be you're the drama queen and I'm the shepherd and it's the NBA that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But your PUNK @ZZ ain’t “THE TRUTH”. The truth is you're THE WEAK. And I'm the tyranny of the LAKERS. But I'm tryin, Pierce. I'm tryin' reeeaall hard to be the 5 TIME NBA WORLD CHAMPION.

two things I will say...

the bottom of the Boston bench (Daniels, Shelden Williams, Scalabrine) are every bit as bad as the bottom of the Lakers bench (MBenga, Powell, Morrison).

And the better Boston bench players (Nate, Fat Baby) are just as big a homers as the Lakers better bench players (Farmar, Vujacic).

DFish -- wtf is wrong with you? If you have nothing constructive to say, then why bother? Go tell it to someone in the local Starbucks. These finals are what they are--hard fought, taut, and sloppy--precisely because no one is giving an inch. It's all about going through the mountain in these games, not around it.

If you want to see elegant offense and frenetic back and forth style play, go watch the Suns against the Nuggets -- oh, that's right, I forgot . . . they aren't playing any more.

And why would that be? Oh, because they can't play defense and they have an inability to stop their opponent. In short, they haven't the ability to play at a Final's level.

From the officials to the players one of the worst finals ever. Only thing that stands out is some of the amazing shots that Kobe has hit. If you guys weren't Laker fanatics you would see how pathetic these finals have been. Wake me when they are over.

Quitter.

>>>As for Perk, I wouldn't be shocked if we were seeing another Paula
>>>"Beetlejuice" Pierce wheelchair incident and he hops out in Game 7 like
>>>nothing ever happened.

I've been thinking about that a bit.

If Paul Pierce feigns a great injury and goes back to the locker room, someone needs to "accidentally" lock the door to the locker room so he can't get back out. :-)

ALL LAKERFANS THIS IS A TIME TO CHERISH A GREAT WIN!!! No FINGER POINTING, no BASHING other LAKRFANS hating a Sasha, FARMAR or whoever. This is a time to cherish the moment!

For a long time please. Thank you bye.

So all it takes is a meditation in the morning before the game.

LTLF

please don't tell me that 3 hustle plays by Farmar in 3 years r justifying a new contract. on the opposite, it shows that he never put the effort to play defense.

also

we were lucky that Fish got in foul trouble. as soon as his butt was on the bench the offense started to flow and the defense was plugged. in game 5 he wasted more time arguing his personal duel with allen than defending.

same in game 2 when he was trying to sell all the screens and allen was making 3's.

last night, when he started the 3 rd quarter, the offense was confused again. till he got his 4th. and the team strived again.

In my mind's eye, both the Lakers and Celtics are rushing towards each other in the fashion that they have in years past. Matching each other, blow-for-blow, against all-comers until the time to meet together arrives. They are looking squarely in the others direction while they simultaneously brush aside any with the misguided notion that they are also contenders. It is the same as how Bruce Lee will casually vanquish all of the Big Boss' henchmen on his way to the real dance. It is all about Boston. It has always been about Boston. June 2008: Boston Celtics dance on Laker's grave, complete with Gatorade splash on Coach Rivers in the waning moments of game 6 blow-out, close-out victory. Decades of Celtics mediocrity melt away as testosterone mixed with Celtic-arrogance fuels the celebratory fire. The "Big 3" are hailed as champs as LA Lakers barely escape in team bus assaulted by barbaric Celtics fans.
June 2009: LA Lakers dance alone when Boston fails to join the party. Kobe wins one without Shaq. Coach "Ten-Rings" Jackson passes Red "Cigar-Smoking" Auerbach. Trophy is awarded to Lakers as sulking Celtics cry that asterisk should accompany it as the Celtics had a boo-boo they couldn't play through.
June 2010: Boston 1, Lakers 1 (on VERY recent scoreboard). Lakers "what if" questions about 2008 aside. Celtics classless "you were lucky" assertions about 2009 aside. It arrives at this... no excuses... no conditions... GAME 7 Lakers ~ Celtics Rubber game, WINNER TRUMPS ALLl @LAKERMIKE

did anyone noticed that last night, Farmar and UPS where not at the same time on the floor?????????

and that when each of them was on the floor they DID NOT dribble too much?

DFish,

No one will wake you up. We like you better when you're sleeping. Because then you can't run your mouth and sound like the idiot you are. Bye bye, sleepy head.

Go Lake Show!

If the Lakers show both the energy and poise they showed Tuesday they will continue to be World Champs. Whenever they have lost in the playoffs they have been a bit frantic, too unsure, almost confused (except Bryant of course).

I want to correct one gigantic mis-conception Boston fans might have, you are the most 'decorated' franchise in terms of NBA titles, the Lakers are BY FAR the MOST DOMINANT franchise in NBA history and it isn't even close.

Total victories, total playoff appearences, total playoff wins, all-time great NBA players, LAKERS, LAKERS, LAKERS, AND LAKERS. In fact a 12-man all-time all Laker team I feel not only would decimate a 12-man all-time all Boston team but would holds its own against a 12-man all-time all other than Lakers NBA team. No other franchise including Boston can make that claim.

I will give the Celtics the title of most dominant dynasty. Obviously the Russell Celtics much like the Wooden Bruins hold that hands down. But it was a simpler NBA, fewer teams, much less talent.

The Celtics have missed the playoffs entirely 25% of the time. The Lakers in 62 years have missed the playoffs 5 times. The Lakers have been a great team in every single era of the NBA. The Celtics have had one dynasty and a good run with Bird, they have been sporadic at best. If the Lakers win like they will, the current Celtics will have one NBA title with a fading big 3. Hardly the continuing dominant franchise the Lakers have been in EVERY NBA era.

These are not the Russell Celtics, these are the Kobe-Pau-Ron-Fish-Lamar-Drew Lakers. In fact these are the once and future ....your World Champion Los Angeles Lakers.

No worries Mamba, I feel I'm being too individualistic by reserving that seat. I'll take it when I'm around, but if I'm not, I was just keeping it warm for my fellow Lakerholics!

Been busy lately to take a ride, but you know I'm not missing that Game 7 one.

LTLF-

If Jordan just did a little better when he dove after that loose ball and led Kobe better, Kobe could've had the basket AND the foul. We coulda won by 23!

Farmar cost us margin of victory and as any keltics troll will tell you, that's all that matters. He really sucks. ;-)

sleep talking....don't mind him. Oh wait, I already don't!

ouchhhhh

>>>please don't tell me that 3 hustle plays by Farmar in 3 years r justifying a new
>>>contract. on the opposite, it shows that he never put the effort to play defense.

If he'd take 2 million a year to play backup point? Sure.

For what he's paid, Jordan has contributed a LOT to this playoff run, including the finals. He's hit 41% of his 3-pointers for the playoffs, which has helped space the floor. He's come in and provided energy. He's gotten steals that have led to extra posessions for the Lakers. Yes, he's made mistakes and turned the ball over more than I'd like, but that's why he's a 12-15 minute a game backup player and not a starter. No team can afford all-stars for their backup players. If you haven't figured that out yet, then you don't understand the nature of contracts in the modern NBA.

Jordan's kinda in limbo. I think he's played well enough that the Lakers wouldn't mind re-signing him if he'd play for cheap. And he hasn't played quite well enough to get over-paid by some team in the off season. I don't think he'll get any MLE offers or anything like that, so the Lakers may actually be able to afford to keep him.

HOPE Spain's loss in WC does not have a negative impact on Pau Gasol..

I'll say this about Jordan. I hope he finds a better contract and better situation with another team. Hopefully, he comes back to us a more polished player.

Sometimes it takes travel and a change to see where you should have been all along. Look at Derek....he wanted more money and a better role. All along he wanted to be a Laker.

Great Post & Great Name...OUT FREAKIN STANDING SIR!
MAMBA24

To all Kobe homers:

You should understand Kobe ever has been sidekick. He was in the "Shaq era" and now he are in "Gasol era". Kobe never had been the real superstar. He need a big, a superplayer in the middel to succes. Early was Shaq, now is Pau. I think in 2 dynasties:

1 Shaq dynasty
2 Pau Dynasty

Never a Kobe Dynasty.

Anb this year, if Lakers can win this championship, PAU DESERVES THE MVP FINALS.

>>>I don't think this Laker team will be letting any more leads go in a Game 7.

That's a key, I think.

Remember early in the year, when the Lakers would get off to big leads and then end up barely holding on to win? Last night in the 3rd, Boston was desperately trying to dig into that lead, but the Lakers held firm. They got some stops on defense, and every time Boston scored to cut it to 18 or 17, the Lakers would score to push it back to 19 or 20. Then the bench came in and pushed it up to 25. Very important.

They need to do the same thing tomorrow night, even if the lead's not as big. If the C's cut the lead from 10 to 8, then the Lakers need to score to push it right back to 10. And play hard all the way to the end. And then they will win.

the New Pecking order is:

1.- Pau
2,- Gasol
3.- Bynum, if Healty
4.. Bryant, only if he had a good shooting day.
5.- Odom

The rest, for me, is trade material.

Jerry Buss breaks even... not Jerry West... DOH!!

If Pau Gasol has a good 7 game, HE DESERVES THE MVP FINALS.

If the NBA were China, this period of Lakers History would be called the RING DYNASTY.

I love Pau and all, but he couldn't even win a playoff game before he landed on a team with Kobe.

We need Bynum in game 7. Is Key b/c Perkins injurie. If Bynum can play, Celtics not have answer for this matchup and Pau will play free.

BYNUM IS KEY IN GAME 7.

And the elbow to Rondo's face, to be fair, was totally incidental. Ron's arm was already up when Rondo starting aiming for it

Posted by: Tim-4-Show | June 16, 2010 at 09:45 AM

LMAO. That's what usually happens when a chihuahua tried to punk a rotweiller.

Wow...whatta game!

One more to go for the ring. GET IT DONE, LAKE SHOW!!!

On the breakaway that led to Shannon's first dunk, did anyone else see Paul Pierce use his legs to trip Pau in the backcourt? And when Kobe laid it in over KG for the and one, as both players were falling, KG grabbed Kobe's foot and twisted it. Tony Allen grabs Kobe's arm, gets a layup, but Kobe gets a tech from Kenny Mauer, who incidentally is one of the sneakiest and worst refs in the league. The vaunted Celtic defense is nothing more than pushing, shoving, grabbing and holding. Celtic lovers on here want to know why the Lakers' fans don't respect the Celtics? It's because the Celtics cheat. Plain and simple.

So, I wasn't exactly sad when Rondo ran into Ron's elbow with his chin. 6'1" and 170 lbs.? Stay out of the paint!

My job doesn't allow me much time to blog during the week,so I'd like to send a shout out to all the blog regulars who have been beating back the trolls from the walls of Laker Nation. My goodness, they were literally crawling out of the woodwork! But thanks to Edwin G., Laker Tom, Rick F., Justa, Mamba24 et al, they have been beaten back!

GO LAKERS!!!
ONE MORE FOR THE RING!!
CLOSE THE DEAL!!!

Good morning Lakernation,

Just one more win!!! Is it Thursday yet???

@Larry (Mamba24)
I hope you fall asleep in Game 7 as well (*LOL) Just playing with you...I promise to be on the live chat although I would rather give undevided attention on this most important game this season. Lakers winning another ring, everything will be alright.

GO LAKERS!

Hey Hobbit, what you think now about Pau´s softness??????

Pau Gasol is the best Laker player for sure. He is the KEY PLAYER, not Kobe. Without Pau, no ring, without Kobe, no problem.
