Best comment on who is the greatest Laker of all time: "I get what Kobe is saying. Magic beats the 80s Celtics. West couldn't beat the 60s Celtics. 80s and 60s are two different teams even if they wear the same uniforms. -- Tim-4-Show

Reader Comment of the Day: "Is anyone on this Laker team showing even the remotest quality of 'rising to the occasion'? As Kobe said in his post game interview, 'offense comes and goes' but the defensive effort of this team is woeful. Granted the Lakers aren't scoring in the 100's but they should be holding this team in the 80's easily. Again as Kobe said, it was layup after layup after layup after layup. 90% of defense is effort" -- You Ever Notice

LAKERS CHAMPIONS in game 7 at Staples Center!

I guarantee it.

This series shoudl have been a sweep if not for game 2 refs, 4 and 5 Phil Jackson's fault.

I believe it is the Coach that made the team soft and not ready for games 4 and 5. Odom, Gasol and Artest could 100% definitely HAS WAS IT TAKES but WAS NOT PUSHED HARD ENOUGH to come play with all out aggressiveness.

It seems the COach is the one intimidated by the Celtics and it just trickled down to its players. Excpet KOBE ha sits OWN WILL!!!

Without Kobe in game 5, Lakers would have lossed by 40 pts. KOBE made all the assists in 1st half, Kobe made all the shots in 3rd qrtr, where were his teammates?

Kevin-

Just sit back and enjoy Laker fan going at each other's throat.

If they happen to win, youll see how they all come back and say ... "I knew we had this."

Maybe now they realize why I call Run Run ... Dribble Dribble.

LMFAO last nite when the toughest baddest man on the planet resorted to flopping when Rondo barely touched him. I feared he was gonna kick anybodys @ss that had the nerve to mess with the Lakers in the Finals or look at a Laker the wrong way. Wasnt that why you got him? Or was it he outstanding D? Or was it his outside shooting? I know ... his high BK IQ! No, wait it was his free throw shooting in the clutch. LOL ... Reminded me of Vince Carter.

Where is POMPOUS LakerTom? Doesnt write much in defeat. Had the Lakers won he would had write up after written about how he knew it all along. And reposted it every 5 minutes. To make sure everyone read it. Wait for his "Keys to winning game 6" post tomorrow. Its a must read.

Staples24,

Jeff Van Gundy, Byron Scott, Tom Thibodeaux, Michael Cooper... definitely no one remotely connected to Phil should be hired -that wacko basketball philosophy is TOXIC.

Ps: If Lakers can lure away Thibodeaux they will surely own the Celtics for life!

KOBE IS THE MOST CONSISTENT playoff impact player in 5 games.

Win or loose, KOBE BRYANT IS THE MVP of the FINALS. But, I guarantee it LAKERS WILL WIN GAMES 6 and 7!

STAPLES CENTER, we will rock you!!!

Phil Jackson's softnees will disappear, the players will regain their toughness behind a great LAKERFANS NATION!!!

JACK NICHOLSON WILL RALLY THE PLAYERS, THE CROWDS, THE CELEBRITIES, THE REFEREES!!! While Phil sits on the bench.

Team effort on defense & offense at fault except for Kobe. The only players putting in 100 % effort against Celtics: Kobe, Fish & Bynum (injury permitting!). Pau is at 80% and the rest of the team a pathetic 70% effort, including Odum & Artest (All talk & no heart or mental toughness). That will not get it done against the supremely confident Celtics made so by Odum, Artest, Gasol, Brown, Farmar & PJ(has not given bench confidence with hap hazard substitutions during season). Kobe is tired in the 4 th quarter because of a lack of Team effort by the named culprits; PJ letting it happen. Replace Lebron with Kobe on Cavs and they would have swept Celtics. Lakers we need 110% effort since you have 90% Celtics talent! Go Lakers in seven!

To be a great leader one must be willing to take up the slack when your followers begin to falter. Kobe did just dat last nite. I dont care what no one dern says about kobe being a ball hog, if it wasnt for that ball hog last nite we were gonna get beat worse than 2008. No one else played hard, and the one's who even attempted (Ron artest) had to be just insanely stupid for taking the shots they did!Defense killed us, not Kobe! DRIBBLE DRIBBLE TURNOVER, DRIBBLE DRIBBLE BLOCK, DRIBBLE DRIBBLE FLOP! GET IT TOGETHER AND SWING THE FLIPPEN BALL! I mean kobe tried it the team way in the first half and what did that give us, PAU being a sissy, artest being an idiot, lamar being the invisible man, bynum being hop along cassidy, fisher being old man shooting, and the bench being outrite autrocious. SO GIVE ME THE BALL HOG ANYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only reason kobe couldn't count for more assists is because those idiots couldn't make a shot if i paid them in gold!!!!!!!! SMT!

LMFAO last nite when the toughest baddest man on the planet resorted to flopping when Rondo barely touched him.

Yeah, kinda how Paul Pierce cries at every single call? Yeah, I laugh at him all the time. He really needs to figure out a different facial expression, because he kinda always looks like a donkey.

"This team (Boston Celtics) has lost more games in the fourth quarter than anybody in the NBA. They know how to lose in the fourth quarter. They're just showing us that now."

PHILLUP don't mention this:
- Celtics beat us 131-92 in Game 6 (08 Finals)
- Pistons beat us .. umm.. well we never played Game 6 against the Pistons because they finished us off in 5 Games

Just look at the positive
- 10 Rings (no dont mention MJ and SHAQ)
- 47-0
- Home Court Advantage (no don't mention elimination game.. Odomb might get nervous, pau soft, artest will become wood, Kobe Trigger Happy)
- Won tons of times in last second like Fish and Big Shot Bob (don't mention Fish's 0.4 shot .. lol .. wat a joke.. and dat big shot bob moved on)

@131-92, Yes you are entitled to enjoy your teams win. Yes you are entitled to even gloat a lil. And yes you are a better sports predictor than I. And No I have not been out pricing those Larry Byrd Jersies yet. Last night your team played a better game and my hats off to them. All of that being said...I'm sorry 131 but this is the last time you will get to celebrate this year. The lakers will win Tuesday and yes they will win thursday. That's just the way it has to be. Doc bless his heart did some damn fine coaching and had some good stategies. But you now enter The Staples Center. Ye who enter abandon all hope. It's been fun...but your team is done. All they've done is held serve and now...The Lakers are serving for the Championship. Don't feel bad you will still have 17 to the Lakers 16 after this. But then of course next year the Lakers will tie the Celts and just like Phil Jackson passed Red, The Celtics will pass the Celtics. It is inevitable. So i hope you saved some of that Bacardi for Tuesday & Thursday cause Brother you are going to need it. See you at Game 6

ROFLMAO!! OH THE HUMANITY!!!

Gasol is such a lightweight, I thought I saw a brown spot grow on the seat of his pants when Perkins came calling.

Captain Jack and 131 have totally forgotten game 1 where the C's choked. They've totally forgotten game 3, where they couldn't overcome a 17 pt deficit. To hear them talk, the Celtics are just waiting to collect their rings.

One bad game is all it takes for everything to seemingly fall apart at the seams. The press has been lauding Pau as the best big man in basketball, and now, all of the sudden he's not? Boston fans have been killing each other on their boards and now all of the sudden they're counting on a championship and feel so entitled to come on here and smack talk?

IT'S NOT OVER. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Everyone needs to focus on the goal. One game at a time. Don't let the crappy green fans get in your brains. WE ARE THE BETTER TEAM. One bad loss doesn't mean we are through. And if you look back when we were up 2-1, Boston was crapping their pants.

IT'S NOT OVER. IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE.

GO LAKERS!!

Gasol is such a lightweight, I thought I saw a brown spot grow on the seat of his pants when Perkins came calling.

Nah, that was just Perkins face.

Boston Celtics 17 Championships
Los Angeles Lakers 10 Championships
Chicago Bulls 6 Championships
Minneapolis Lakers 5 Championships
San Antonio Spurs 4 Championships

It drives the fans of the Minneapolis/LA Fakers crazy when they realize that they are only the second best organization in professional basketball. Except your submissive and inferior place below the great and mighty Boston Celtics and be grateful that you are not a fan of Los Suns or the Orlando Magic Kingdoms.

DEFINITELY WORRIED AND SCARED!!!
That was supposed to be the feelings of the REALISTIC FANS. But we are in the blogs of DIE-HARD FANS so the feelings should be CONFIDENT NOT WORRIED AT ALL. I will consider myself in the Former kind of fan. You can be very confident but the fact is, what if the Celtics that won games 2,4 and 5 shows up on Tuesday? What if the Lakers that won games 1 and 3 never show up again? This will be the most painful sights to see.....Boston players celebrating in Staples Center. I hope I am wrong with my gut feelings, but do you remember Rasheed Wallace being a member of the Pistons beating the heavily favored Lakers in 2004? Rasheed might beat the Lakers again being a member of the Celtics this time. Deja vu?

Yeah, kinda how Paul Pierce cries at every single call? Yeah, I laugh at him all the time. He really needs to figure out a different facial expression, because he kinda always looks like a donkey. Posted by: longtimelakerlover | June 14, 2010 at 01:50 PM

Yeah and the refs bite it also.. i don't mind him flopping on u all da way to a championship... one more act like dat .. inglewood hooda is gonna take it..

every shot dat goes up he puts dat flop.. awesome.. put on da show! Its soooo funny .. 2 pts.. foul.. and 1..

Phillup is real angry and upset because .. he is like saying.. how come I did not think of this.. gonna jot it down in my jen book

Gasol is such a lightweight, I thought I saw a brown spot grow on the seat of his pants when Perkins came calling.

Hmmmmmm... so is that the area you like to focus on when watching the game??? Certainly says a lot about you....

I AIN'T AFRAID OF NO GHOST!!!!

Yeah, kinda how Paul Pierce cries at every single call? Yeah, I laugh at him all the time. He really needs to figure out a different facial expression, because he kinda always looks like a donkey.

Posted by: longtimelakerlover | June 14, 2010 at 01:50 PM

LOL ... I dont care how Pierce looks. All I care about is his production and the final score. All I care about is if my "team" wins or loses.

Your team can look better as long as my team wins the Rings.

The Boston Celtics need the Minneapolis/LA Lakers just like the Harlem Globetrotters need the Washington Generals. Actually, here is a fun fact, the Harlem Globetrotter's use to kick the ass of the Lakers as well. No word on if the Washington Generals also had their way with the Lakers, if they didn't, it is only because they never played.

131 92
I enjoy your posts man. You know your basketball and you are funny. It is hilarious how one game totally changes people. Laker fans go from haughty arrogance to downright panic at the drop of a hat. It is panic time in LA right now. Can't wait for tomorrow's game!
Some teams and some coaches just have an enemy that is their nemesis. Will the Lakers of today and Phil Jackson always be frustrated by their hated enemy the Celtics?? We shall see.

I'm perplexed as why everyone is saying Kobe was a "ball-hog" last nite?!?! I'm not sure what game everyone was watching, but I was watching the game where Gasol was getting blocked by a 6'4 guard, Artest was jacking-up shots and missing free throws, and Odom being Odumb. The point is, NO ONE showed-up to play last night except for Kobe. There was no sense of URGENCY...no DESIRE to win...and no one played with any HEART except for KOBE. I don't blame him for taking 27 shots especially when his teamates, who had multiple opportunities to score, failed to contribute. (To prove my point, go look at the "play by play" at NBA.com) There comes a point when you have to take matters into your own hands. And, I believe Kobe made the right decision. If it wasn't for his 3rd quarter shoot-out, the Lakers would've lost by at least 15. Hopefully, they'll figure things-out before its too late. GO LAKERS!

It drives the fans of the Minneapolis/LA Fakers crazy when they realize that they are only the second best organization in professional basketball. Yeah, it makes us feel good to know that the great and mighty boston celtics were like, the crappiest team in the nba for 22 years between titles. We especially loved how they chanted MVP! MVP! for Kobe a while back. Good times, good times. BTW, what the heck were they doing during those 22 years? OH YEAH, LOSING.

Joey Crawford not calling that jump ball cost the game. Kobe had the ball in his hands for like 1.0 seconds in the fourth on Artest's miss free throw and yet they call a jump ball against Bynum when the celtics didn't even have a hold of the ball, just touched the ball for like . 2 seconds. WTF!!!!!!!!!!! This league sucks basketballs. Joey Crawford is a good official but, it sucks because everyone had DVR's and already the officiating cost the Lakers 3 games, and the celtics only 1. THAT'S TOO LOBSIDED!!!!
The Boston fans are so white trash. Who throws vodka bottles during a live game on the floor. I've made up my mind about those fans.

every shot dat goes up he puts dat flop.. awesome.. put on da show! Its soooo funny .. 2 pts.. foul.. and 1..

Yeah, kinda like in game three, when we won on your court and all the boston fans couldn't talk crap on all of you guys hard enough. Like when we went up 17 and you were all crapping your pants. Yeah, I laughed my butt off!!!!

THE THREE WAYS THE CELTICS WILL BEAT THE LAKERS TOMORROW
1: LONG
2: HARD
3: CONTINUOUSLY

NBA Basketball: $49.
Laker Pride : A subway token
Celtic Pride: Priceless

I HAVE FAITH, WIN 2 AT HOME IS WHAT WE’LL DO
THEN WILL GET A RING FOR YOU – BANDWAGON

(00) PHIL JACKSON - 10RINGS - It's basically defending HOME COURT. That is the way it's suppose to be , isnt it?
(01) KOBE BRYANT – THE BLACK MAMBA - KOBE BRYANT: Just man up and play. What the hell is the big deal? I don't see it as a big deal. If I have to say something to them, then we don't deserve to be champions. We're down 3-2, go home, win one game, go into the next one. Simple as that.
(02) DERRICK FISHER – DFISH – we not gone hang our heads & cry about a defeat. We gone take it Tuesday so we can give us a chance to win a Championship Thursday
(03) 2PHATT – OWNER – I have Faith in the next two at home Stop worrying Wes, WE GOT THIS
(04) FAITH – DRIVER - I am FAITH & I have FAITH
(05) JUSTANOTHERMAMBAFAN – RIDING SHOTGUN -

(63) ROCKY - It's not over! Game 6 tomorrow. Go Lakers!
(64) PEACE - LA was here in 1988. Thrice. They were here in 2002. They must rely on the homecourt to survive. If I told you 12 months ago LA would be coming home down 3-2 in the NBA Finals v. the Celtics and the title would be decided at Staples Center, you'd take it. I'll take it now. Not that I have a choice if I'm a Lakers fan, but I will. This team has the talent to win the next two. They have the coaching experience to put them in a position to win the next two. Let's just see what happens. They have their issues -- serious issues -- but if they win the next two, they're champs. Let's go with that. If we -- or the Lakers -- buy too much into the "it's 2008 all over again" talk, then they should just forfeit tomorrow night and go home.
(65) NAS797 - NO ONE showed-up to play last night except for Kobe. There was no sense of URGENCY...no DESIRE to win...and no one played with any HEART except for KOBE. There should be a statute of limitations on repeating the same, tired comment.

Somewhere after the 5 millionth time ya read "Kobe needs to be a team player" after a loss, posts should self destruct. It's been said, debated and won't stop till he retires with more rings than Mike... ya know that guy that said "there's an 'I' in 'win'"?

Mamba-

I have to enjoy it while I can. Its still gonna be tough to win 1 here. I think we can do it but Im not myopic like Laker fan. We havent done anything yet.

I was just terrified when Rondo pushed "Thriller" last nite. I thought Rondo forgot that his name was Ron Artest like Kobe forgot last year. But instead he just folded like a cheap chair. I understand Fish flopping around like a Fish out of water but Dribble Dribble? Maybe Jack can work with him.

Btw you can use my "Your team can look better as long as my team wins the Rings" line in one of your poems. Id be honored.

Captain Jack and 131 have totally forgotten game 1 where the C's choked. They've totally forgotten game 3, where they couldn't overcome a 17 pt deficit. To hear them talk, the Celtics are just waiting to collect their rings.

Well.. just don't choke tomorrow night.. like 131-92 .. i mean da game not da dude! Otherwise we won't be able to keep dis smack going until Thursday.

After Game 1.. u even close to 100 ? looks like u going down hill.. in the 80's..
After 17 Blocks.. u had 1 block last night? I know Bynum is hurt but.. still..

I think Celtics figured Lakers are long.. not tough.. even making jello out of Artest.. remember all ur chants.. WE GOT ARTEST NOW! Now he is cast away as dumb over dribbler ball hog .. MAYBE comparing CELTICS TO OKC AND SONITAS .. was bad Karma.. maybe after game 1 LAKER Team though they were going to be handed deir rings..

I still don't see Celtics winning it .. but at least u guys cannot say.. LAKERS IN SIX N E MORE.. SIX GAME CHANTS R ALL OVER!

SEE U in GAME 7.

Longtime-

Yes, I have forgotten game 1 and 3. Laker fan has taught me to live in the present.

I still don't see Celtics winning it .. but at least u guys cannot say.. LAKERS IN SIX N E MORE.. SIX GAME CHANTS R ALL OVER!

SEE U in GAME 7.

The ONLY time I will EVER agree with you...

Thanks Crap'n Quack

I can see 2008 finals all over again in game 6. Kobe Bryant's ball hogging, Gasol being soft (again), Odom's dissapearance (as usual) Bynum in cameo role (what's new) Fisher being a non-factor (as expected) combining with the present year 2010 of Artest being a liability rather than an asset (I miss Ariza) and the ever lasting suck bench. That's we got for asking for the Celtics to be in the Finals this year. We could have an easy time against the Cavs and the Magic even if we don't have the homecourt advantage. Remember against the Celtics in the finals we've only won 3 against 9 defeat. I don't want to face Boston in the finals ever.

Don't go going sentimental on me now 131. Lol! Although thanks, I probably will use it, look for it tomorrow. By the way, you didn't mention if you had any of that Bacardi left. Probably finsihed it off celebrating last night. Oh well, one good turn deserves another, I think I'll get a bottle to celebrate tomorow. No, No 131, don't tell me if The Lakers win tomorrow I better save it for Thursday to drown my sorrows, it aint gone happen. Lol! Take care sir, got to do a lil work and make some money.

be careful, his disciples: CornerJ, Staples 24, Jasimesweet, Dang, mamba24, Noah, Justa, HalosAnt, LTF, Noah, mark G are all taking notes and you can bet they can't wait to see their Guru and report on you. They adore their BynumSwami who for now is in retreat in Mt. Shasta. He is channeling energy to harness electrodes to repair Bynum's knee through air wave.

If I was you, I would be very careful because he just might turn you in to an ugly green slimy toad. I am sure you certainly do not want wish this upon yourself. Also, his followers are planning to meet at Santa Monica civic auditorium at 5Pm to collectively meditate and title the earth off of its axis so the electrodes can reach to Bynum. If you anger his followers then there is a possibility that they make turn you into a neuter gender green slimy frog.

All i have to say to you is good luck and hope nothing happens to you.

Like almost any other day after a Lakers loss, this blog seems really out of sorts today. As it should be, we're all expressing our opinions. But as I keep abreast of the threads and comments, it's become like I'm supposed to take a new loyalty oath that I'm really a Lakers fan. What's that all about?

Joining a bandwagon or supporting this player or criticizing that player has nothing to do with being a Lakers fan. I'm just as optimistic the Lakers will win the Finals as I was before Sunday's game. But I'm mad as hell at just about everybody except Kobe. And I'll still be cheering just as loudly for all the players tomorrow night.

My love for the Lakers at this point is like being in a toxic relationship. My significant other is making more withdrawals from the good will account than making deposits. I'm exhausted, distracted, sleepless, cranky and irritable as a result. I feel like I'm putting everything into this relationship and getting nothing back. My unconditional love is being put to the test.

Today I'm feeling that some tough love is the answer. I feel the need to be more demanding of my team. Tomorrow night I want to feel rewarded as a fan, that the team will show up and give us something back after slapping us in the face with 48 minutes of such dismal defense and lackluster offense.

Like most people in a toxic relationship, no matter what happens tomorrow night, I won't walk away. But I definitely could be less loving if the Game 5 lethargy isn't replaced with better effort.

Staple24,
dead on point, believe me"We GOT THIS"

the only thing i can really say is......i'm truly disappointed to see a "gutless performance" by everyone on THIS team with the exception of kobe "bean" bryant. everyone on that team should be ashamed the way they let KOBE down! if it wasn't for his effort, L.A. would have been run out of the gymnasium. the other day i mentioned the nba finals is not for the "faint of heart."......of course, i was speaking about everyone on the Lakers, with the exception of kobe "bean" bryant. if KOBE'S supporting cast doesn't want to play like CHAMPIONS play.....getting loose balls, blocking out, defending, rebounding, MAKING SHOTS, then tomorrow nights game will be an embarassment to the loyal Lakers fans. memo to every laker besides kobe "bean" bryant......GROW A PAIR!

FAR SIDE-

Thanks for the warning. I made sure I didnt include any of PompousTom's cronies. I didnt want to anger PompousTom or his cronies. But he is way too classy do anything to our earth. Only evil Celtic fans are capable of something like that.

Im just waiting for his new post. They are so insightful. Im sure it will be the longest one of the year, since it might be the Lakers last game. He is of the opinion that size matters when it comes to posts. Nevermind the fact that he is always wrong.

@ Rick F.

Along with dewey's post earlier this is yet another of my FAVORITES of the day!!! You managed to express exactly how I'm feeling today.

And BOY, do I know what it feels like to be inna TOXIC relationship... LOL... seemed like it took FOREVER to break free from that one, but the difference here is this relationship with the LAKERS will go on 'TIL THE DAY I DIE!!!

Thanks Rick for puttin' it all in PERFECT Perspective.

you wrote: Win or loose, KOBE BRYANT IS THE MVP of the FINALS. But, I guarantee it LAKERS WILL WIN GAMES 6 and 7!

Response:

I sense defeatist tone in your post above, win or lose and I don't like it. Also, once again like Kobe you too are more concerned with individual goals over a team goal, true?

What difference does it make if Kobe is MVP or not compared to a title win? As long as the Lakers win the title and as far as I am concerned then can give the MVP honors to Paula Pierce as a consolation, you dig!!

You need to stay positive and don't tell me you too like Ouchhhh cracking under pressure!!

Check ESPN and Chris Sheridan's column. His title is the "better team" won game 5. All the experts before this series were saying the Lakers were the better team. How things have changed.
Where is the guy that was saying basketball was all about the "matchups" and the Lakers won in every way on that count? Based on yesterdays game the Celtics were better in every matchup except against Kobe.
Superior team effort will always overcome a talent disparity, and that is assuming their is one. The Lakers have scored more than 95 points in only one game this series. They have been shut down. Kobe can't win this thing by himself.

Rick,
Such a voice of sanity.
I like the relationship analogue. Remember that song in "My Fair Lady"?
...don't wait until wrinkles and lines pop out all over my brow.. SHOW ME NOW.

and nothing irritates me more when our blog faithfuls are exchanging pleasantries with these pathetic celtic trolls! this is war.. dont talk to the enemy or do it on your own time not on a laker blog during the finals... please for the love of god!!

This blog is not for the faint of hearts or bandwagoners with no GUTS after a tough lost, jump off now and hope you don't twist your ankle landin. This team is a team of destiny, that will not be denied. Analyze stats if you may, but when the ball goes up Tuesday night ALL HELL WILL BE UN-LEASED. "WE GOT THIS", GUARANTED.

The pattern of winning and losing in these series is pretty obvious. Like what Coach Rivers said, somebody has to win two straight in a row first (and that was the Celtics), the next one is the Lakers -- sounds fair to me!

Oh, and by the way, LO is afraid of The Celtics! That fool got no heart and he's not a champion!

MOTIVATION: On his way into the losing locker room, the most angry man in the Garden was heard to bellow a spontaneous stream of curses into the ears of his Los Angeles Lakers. As the door slammed behind them, a witness heard Kobe Bryant screaming that he needed someone to make a stand with him.

Someone has to make a stand with Kobe Bryant...Will that someone be you?

GO LAKERS!!!

CELTIC FANS, honest question: Has the NBA changed the rules in the last 24 hours so that now you only have to win THREE GAMES for a championship?

If not, and I don't believe they have, you are prematurely ejaculating all over our blog. Though you may have a problem in the bedroom, at least try to show some control here...that's all we ask. Can to a 100 or think of Bill Russell or Larry Bird, but pleeeeeze try to last until your team wins a fourth game...of course, that probably means you'll be waiting til next season, but that's why there is masturbation, which is better done in private.

Thanks!

Not that this hasn't been a complete laugh riot, but is it Game Day yet?

Is the series over????? Unless a team won 4 games you cannot claim your the champ! Game 6 is at hand! The crown is still all for grabs!!! You can say what you want to say but unless you win 4 games ...it's nothing!!!! It's non sense!!! It's hogwash!!!!Go Lakers!!!! Neve say die attitude...Lakers until the end!!!!

Dewey,
You are one funny baaaahhhstard!

Mark G,

LOL, finally, some humor, much needed.

Art-FL,

I'm a smart @zz no matter how bad it gets.

To wage war against neurotic, depraved, idiotic and moronic minds is useless, " Do not throw pearls ( wisdom/intelligence/insight) into a swine, they will just trample it." Having war words against these lunatic trolls make no sense...we are just educating them and when they learn a little they thought they know it all....The rule has not change yet ...4 wins to be a champion not 3.....Lakers for life!!!!

All of this goes to show you how bipolar the media is. When we win game 6 you will see all of them singing a different tune. Shameless people

This board is much funnier than the Boston Globe. I think I will continue to be a troll on this board until after we win tomorrow and then I don't know what I will do with myself.
Probably go back to Mommies basement I guess!

Mamba-

I have to enjoy it while I can. Its still gonna be tough to win 1 here. I think we can do it but Im not myopic like Laker fan. We havent done anything yet.

I hope this helps answering your question. Now you go rub one out!!!

My friend is an obstetrician in L.A. He just gave me some incredible news...
Not only are Mamba24 and Justanothermambafan virtually married,
but they're about to be parents of a virtual baby!
Doctor said Mamba called him an hour ago and said her contractions are 5 minutes apart.
Doctor asked (aksed) him if this was her first child.
Mamba said: No, this is her HUSBAND!

MM:

Any news on Bynum as to how he is feeling today?

*waits impatiently for a new blog post*

I'm all trolled out.

Looking forward to my Lakers kicking some Celtic butt. Especially Pierce's donkey butt. Oh wait, maybe that's his face...

I hope Laker fans are soaking in every minute of aker-negativity from around the sports world, because this right here, these painful moments, are how we pay for the ring we're about to win. This is the fire we have to walk thru, these moments are ours to NOT look away from. The more we hold fast, the further the storm gets from us. I really, really beieve we'll take game 6, and that's as far as my mind will allow me to see. Faith people.

The Lakers are in deep deep trouble: unless the Lakers players show up to play any time soon not only they are going to lose the series and handing the NBA championship to the Celtics, but also Jerry Buss is facing the most intriging offseason issues. I am afraid that Jerry Buss is chasing Phil Jackson into retirement by being cheap. I cannot envision anyone but Phil Jackson who can at least keep the current Lakers team under some kind of control: with Odom and Artest, then throw in Bryant, Vujacic, Farmar and Brown and their personalities the Lakers are lucky just to be in the NBA finals. Coaching a bunch of spoiled brats are no easy job, just ask Rudy T.

ouchhhhh... as a Gasol hater, now, you are proud that game 5 was a bad game for Gasol, only poor mens like you get joy in that situation. Your knowledge of basket play is ZERO ABSOLUTE. I think you need a medical doctor. Your brain has a disease.

Bad game... but double numbers: 12 pts and 12 rbs.

ouchhhhhhhhh... the sound of pigs looking for food.

Guys, we just came off 3 straight games in the most Laker- hatred-filled arena in the universe. Of course the mometum is dressed in Ceptic green. It's the color of vomit. It's the color of all things that come from putrid, cramped hopeless, unloved spaces. Tomorrow we dress in forum gold and re-paint the walls of our champion existance in glorious, victorious purple.

And don't stop anyone in your vacinity from disparaging LA. We need the world to think we're done. It's the rungs that we build our ladder with, it's the blood with which we reanimate the beast.

I can't wait.

Wes

Why can't I type a typo-free sentence? Why God? It's "Tomorrow we dress in forum gold and re-paint the walls of our CHAMPIONSHIP existance in glorious, victorious purple"

Wes

Since 1987, Celts have 1 Championship, Lakers have 6! Just sayin!

Wonder if the Bostonians would like to talk a little talk about Yankees - Red Sox Championship totals?

Poor Celts, win or lose, history show they're done for 22 years. Lakers will be in the hunt for the next 5 at least! Oh, my Yankees will be as well!

Let the world keep talking. Just keep talking up Celtic green. Keep it coming. I'll even pay for gas and lodging, just keep the Lakler bashing/Celtic praise coming. This is about to be Laker time, one of the finest of all Laker times.

Wes

You Laker fans are out of your minds.. Keep looking for excuses as to why you're precious Lakers are getting their ass's kicked by the Celtics - by far the dominant TEAM. And for whoever said that Kobe is the MVP of the finals win or lose that is the biggest bunch of b.s. i have ever heard. You cannot be the MVP of the finals if you don't win the finals!!!! If the Lakers win than okay Kobe will be the MVP but that is not going to happen.. Paul Pierce will once again show he is the better team player and will once again hold the title of finals MVP. If KG had been healthy last year this would be a threepeat.

and whoever said "poor celts'' bla bla bla.. whatever.. This the the Cetls record against the Lakers in the finals - 10-2.. So yeah i guess history does have something to say.. Even if the Lakers win it's still 10 -3.. And give me a break what are you going to build your franchise around the aging ball hog Kobe Bryant.. Forgetaboutit.. At least we have a franchise young point guard in Rajon Rondo.. Bring in a couple more youthful talents and the Celts will dominate for the next five to to ten years.. Just like they've dominated the Lakers throughout the history of the NBA.

Just heard Byron Scott on the radio and he was so cool...he basically said: my prediction before the series was Lakers down 2-3 coming back to LA and then winning games 6 & 7 to win the championship. He was asked, "Has anything you've seen in the last two games in Boston changed your opinion?" He said, very matter of factly, "No, I still see the Lakers winning the next two games and the championship."

Byron was on the 1988 team that won 6 & 7 against Detroit and he was also asked how that felt, if that team was depressed after coming home behind and he said, "No, we were excited about the challenge. We knew after we won game 3 and got home court back, that we'd win 6 & 7 at home if we had to. We were very confident."

He also thinks that a lot of what happened in Boston will be very different back at Staples. He just thinks Pau needs to get his azz in the paint and that he and Bynum need to wait an extra second for the cutters to make it through the lane before passing or making a move. Have to be more decisive when the Celtics double, etc. Basically, he thinks the Lakers will calm down a lot and get back to their rhythm.

Dudes, HE was very confident. He guaranteed the Lakers would win tomorrow and force a Game 7 and then he likes their chances to close out.

Oh, btw, Celtics are 1-7 in Road Close Out Games over the last few years...

And the Lakers are, what, like 7-0 in close-out games the last couple of years?

Translation: That 2010 Celtic Championship Gear will very likely be available on Ebay along with the Dallas Maverick Championship Gear and Dewey Beats Truman Newspapers...

It's all VERY GOOD, Dudes! And 'twill be the very sweet sound of silence when all these Celtics posters vanish on Thursday night!

Dudes, HE was very confident. He guaranteed the Lakers would win tomorrow and force a Game 7 and then he likes their chances to close out.

Posted by: dewey | June 14, 2010 at 06:09 PM

Well if Byron Scott said it then it must be true. I didnt know he was really confident. I would not have bothered watching the NBA this year.

BTW was he really confident in having a job when the year ended too?

I predict the Lakers will keep it closer than the last time they had a game 6 with the Celtics......

131

I guess you know more about BB and winning championships then Byron Scott, right? When did you retire from the NBA as player? When did you lose your last coaching job? LMAO...

Yeah, I guess I trust his insights just a tad more than yours -- call me naive.

Now, maybe you better go rub one out while you imagine yourself making the game winning shot against Byron in your NBA fantasy.

LOL

Don't worry, you're going to get a great deal on 2010 Celtic Championship Gear on Friday morning after the Lakers win Game 7.

Don't forget to come back on Friday, dude!

Come on Celts, let's talk a little Yankees vs Red Sox Championships! Just for fun!

I was very disappointed after the loss in Game 5 but I am not to abandon ship. I never thought it will be easy in the first place. I hate Celtics so much but I respect them as well. When you go to war, never, never underestimate your opponent.

Lakers cannot and will not allow the Celtics to claim another championship in their home court. I think that is enough motivation for the Lakers. Do not underestimate the Lakers' heart. They will find a way to win, this I still believe.

LET US SUPPORT OUR LAKERS!!! No more player bashing please, we need each and everyone of these players to perform well , their success is Lakers' success. LET US WISH THEM ALL WELL!!!

GO LAKERS!!!

Don't forget to come back on Friday, dude!

Very impartial observer. Call Mitch and tell us what he thinks. Why dont you go ask Vic the Brick. Let me know what he thinks.

I see how often Magic is correct. Im very impressed.

Come on Celts, let's talk a little Yankees vs Red Sox Championships! Just for fun!

If you are talkn to me ... Im not a Red Sox fan. So your gonna have to find someone else to have fun with.

But I can talk baseball with you. We can talk about your 1979-1995 years if you like.

FARSIDE… ROFLMAO. Seriously, you had me LOL. Funny, how much consternation being one game from elimination has strewn among the faithful. Mrs. LakerTom was laughing at how much I was screaming at Pau Gasol all game. See, the real reason that I don’t do the Live Chats is that I might find myself doing too many virtual high fives with ouchhhhhhhhh. Damn Pau and his weenie shots.
~
Anyway, gotta love Kobe’s heart. And home court advantage. While it isn’t as good as having a 2-2-1-1-1 format, bottom line is all we have to do is win the last two at home, where we always play our best. With both teams stealing wins on the road in the first four games, Sunday night was the first time a team won 2 games in a row home or road. In a way, all the Lakers have to do is do the same.
~
What’s still clear to me and to any Celtic fan who knows basketball and is not afraid to state the truth (which has nothing to do with PP, who was great last night), the Lakers would dominate this series with a healthy Andrew Bynum. In fact, the series would probably have been a Lakers sweep. Thought I would put that in for our green-gilled intruders to suck on while they watch the Lakers triumph.
~
I am optimistic that the Lakers are going to take the next two games in dominating style. I am hoping the Drew will be able to contribute more. It was like he disappeared after the first two minutes. And Pau really got schooled and punked by KG but I expect him to rebound back home. He knows his rep is on the line again and he needs to respond. Fortunately, the refs are not going to allow the Celtics to play the same overly physical game on the road. I could not believe the mayhem that the refs were allowing the Celtics to pull. Ray Allen is one of the dirtiest players to ever play the game.
~
Let the Celtic Nation enjoy their last home game of the year. That way they can just deny what happens to them in the two games in LA the same way that they refuse to acknowledge that the Yankees are their daddy. At first, they’ll blame it on the refs, then they’ll likely start to turn against aging and inconsistent Ray Allen, who will end the series in a major slump, or Paula Pierce, who will suddenly find Ron Artest permanently attached to his body, or Dump Truck Perkins, who will get his shot rammed down his throat so far it will protrude from his rear. Lakers in 7. Count on it!

Thats what I figured. The Yankees were as dormant as the Celtics were. Especially if you throw in 1963-1976.

131,

You are no fun!

Call me crazy, but I still think the Lakers are okay.

Reason: The Smell-tics won one in our building, and the Lakers won one in their building. We brought the series back to L.A., and we defended home-court advantage.

But the Lakers will need to play at their fullest potential for the last two games of the season.

Bring it on and let's get it done!

I thought last night's game was terrible and have had a hard time coming away from it with anything besides disappointment. I haven't posted anything until now and haven't really wanted to. However, some of you have been so supportful of the team, so positive and it's really been great reading your comments. Some awesome fans on this venerable site.

131,

You are no fun!

Dont worry. If you need some pitching Im sure you will go get Oswalt or someone else who is getting dumped for salary reasons.

Maybe you can get Prince Fielder to pinch hit.

Andrew Bynum doesn't even play in the fourth period; it is ridiculous to say his health is a difference maker. The Celts have ground Bynum and Gasol down like erasers on the end of a pencil; just like they wore down the Cavs and made them quit they are doing the same thing to the Lakers right in front of your eyes.

The series stands exactly where it did two years ago Celts up 3-2; now I do think the Lakers will keep game 6 closer than two years ago but as Marcellus Wallace said in Pulp Fiction "that's just pride f...i.g with ya" Lakers and Andy Bynum will go down to a deeper and better team from Boston.

HERE'S THE RESULT FOR GAME 6

LAKERS = 80
KOBE (THE BALLHOG) = 78 POINTS, 15 TURNOVER,50 "FREE THROW"
THE REST OF TEAM = 2 POINT

CELTICS = BALANCE SCORING TOTAL OF 82

WINNER OF THE SERIES = CELTICS BY TWO!!!

NA NA NA NA... NA NA NA NA... HEY HEY HEY... GOOD BYE LOOSERS!

ARE WE HAVING FUN YET?

Pau Gasol wears #16.

i hope that resonates with him that we r IN for the 16 Championship

LakerTom

u totally cracked me up. but, let's ,keep the high fives virtual. :-)

(u r correct - after a few minutes on the live chat i was called disgusting - i responded that the only disgusting thing is how the team is playing. and that was in the 1st. they did not expect how disgusting it GOT)

You can channel Johnny Most in your building, Celtics fans, but we can channel the GREATEST NBA PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCER IN HISTORY....CHICK HEARN!!!

Chickie baby will put the game in the refrigerator after the Lakers show what HCA is all about!!!

Hello Fellow Lakeraholics!

Jon K,

You're in my neighborhood. Enjoy that ride. I always love listening to Art Bell's/George Noory's "Coast to Coast" when I'm making those long drives. So many weird topics...
