Kobe had a very subtle message for PJ (maybe indirect) and the AZ law.

Vanessa had a "Do I Look Like Illegal" t-Shirt. and she was court side, so after a brilliant game, the T-Shirt will be in the frame, VISIBLE, while Kobe like never before bent over in front of the T-Shirt to kiss his little daughter, many, many, times. too many times. it looked kinda weird (not him kissing the daughter) the gesture, but made room for a GOOD READING.

with all the cameras FOCUSED on (ok, ok, i'm not talking about the cup size) the MESSAGE.

now, that indeed was part of the GAME PLAN.

Just curious - few months back LeCrab made a statement that he'll be switching his jersey number from #23 to #6....(and that whole #23 should be retired as a mark of "respect" for MJ)

This year there are strong rumors that he might land with the Bulls (where #23 belonging to MJ is retired)....

So, was all this "fixed" last year itself?? Was it a hint that #23 switching to #6 is a hint that he's going to be in a place where #23 is retired??

Interesting!!

Boston looks like it will make it to the NBA finals by coming up with a strategy to beat the King and Superman.
The Lakers have more weapons and I doubt that the entire Laker team, will disappear ala the Cavs and Magic.

MM
you go from hero to zero with this stupid sign in code. So what if a few bad posts got through. We were self controlling and notifying you of anything unacceptable.
And for you stupid people who wouldn't let it go and whined and moaned to MM, thanks alot you idiots. We had a great thing going. Morons.

Anyone else notice that the older Coby gets, the more he looks like Scatman Crothers?

whose issue is this? whose agenda?

this is madness. how can there possibly be anyone checking papers on a traffic stop? NOBODY has those types of papers on them. the fact remains that there are rules about immigration for a reason. NOONE can go to Mexico, Russia or Korea without the proper papers and PERMISSION from that government. it's no different here. there's not even the need for additional laws.

for those who are immigrants, legal or otherwise, congratulations for coming here, if it is really and improvement for you. if you are from Mexico, i wonder if you realize that you just left one of the richest countries in the world to come to a place on the verge of bankruptcy. if you plan to live here in luxury, then you want to limit further immigration yourself. you'd be amazed at how many Americans of Mexican descent are in favor of immigration control. but back to Mexican wealth, it's not "white folks" or any other stereotype that keeps it from the common man in Mexico. the reason that Mexicans want to be here is that their own wealth is kept from them by their own countrymen, the heads of business and government in Mexico. check out Mexican resources. Mexico is NOT poor, only the people are. because "middle class" Americans are so ignorant about how the world really works, so distracted by twitter and Idol and viagra, they will soon see what peasant life is about. of course, the workers in all races already had an idea, but they also always had an out, the ability to rise in social stature. true peasants will never have that chance, they will always be considered less than human by their masters. Americans will find out what that's really like soon enough if they continue on this path.

immigration is not even about Mexico. immigration is about Russians and Germans and Englishmen and Jamaicans and Koreans and Chinese and Houndurans to name a few. everyone want to come here to join the party and that's fine. the only thing is, immigration is like taking care of your home. if you let everyone in, you'll have to move. you will definitely lose your home, especially if you let lots of people in who don't respect your possesions or your wishes.

let's not talk about the past, there were bad things done, but most of us had nothing to do with any of that. we were just born here and have to make the best of things. there are elements that have their own agendas however, and they are happy to give us stupid things to fight about, that are emotional and that we haven't given much thought to. anyone ever heard of "talking points"?

THERE IS A BASKETBALL GAME COMING UP! WHY IS SOMEONE'S PERSONAL OPINION NEWS, WHEN THAT OPINION ISN'T PART OF THE GAME? AREN'T OUR OPINIONS SACRED AND FREE IN AMERICA?

we don't need the North American Union regardless of what Queen Beatrice or the NBA or TNT's Ted Turner might think.

jmho.

SUNS WHO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mgksq3ShJyU
Is this the Sun team that inspired awe, Can they win one game , oh hell naw
Amare you should have kept your mouth shut, After tonight you’ll look like a nut
What the Frak was you drinking, when you said that stuff without thinking
You should have took that trade, Too late you got to live with the bed u made
Steve Nash what else you got, Cause what you’re doing now, working it’s not
It’s to late to change your style, all you can do is take your whipping with a smile
Bet you’d give back both those MVP’s , If it meant not playing a vengeful Kobe
Yes Mamba’s on a Mission The Lakers are too, Suns I really feel sorry for you
After years of trying you get by the Spurs, but straight into the Lakers you run.
Revenge as they say is best served cold, Sorry Suns but it’s time to fold

ouchhhhhhhhh

What exactly does y0ur word salad mean?

I can never tell whether your lack of objectivity and paranoia are just ruses to deflect criticism, or if they're for real. Either way it makes it hard to understand your Gibberish. i mean Gerbilish.

Now that we've beat the Suns in a high powered offense-oriented game, let's beat them in a half-court slow down defense-oriented game.
This Lakers team may be the most versatile "pick your poison" team of any I've seen.
Time to shut Amare's big mouth and get the Suns ready for summer vacation!
No Mercy!

Good morning Mamba24.
Lakers fan Rick Friedman reporting for duty.
Ready for Roll Call, Sir!

I am so PUMPED, I can't stand it.

Hey Mamba - I say another strong Laker offensive beatdown tonight. Then a slow, methodical, painstaking defensive attack in Phoenix. Make sure those PHX fans understand DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

PLG - 7 more!

Good morning Lakers Nation!

Its game day!

Just in case....

I have both my broom and whip ready. The broom for the sweep and the whip if I see the Lakers loafing off.

No lazy stuff on my watch..... ""Snap!"" - as the whip hits the ground

Mamba24

Mamba24, bandwagon me please. Those little dust bunnies need to be swept up and tossed in the garbage. Foolish Amare.

The die is cast on our back to back campaign. Lakers won the 1st game but it's not the end game yet. We need another win to solidify our home court advantage. Therefore, it is a back to back win against the team of the Forbidden State. What we want to avoid today is complacency, lackadaisical game after a convincing win. The fire from Odom and Kobe should resume in another form with a different style cuz' they are the marked men in this game.

IT’S DESTINY
There is no longer any doubt, Celtics & Lakers are headed for another bout
The Lakers are Ali, the Celtics Frazier, what they’ll do to the Celtics will amaze ya.
It’s almost like it’s destiny, the meeting of the 2 best Finals Teams in history
The Lakers history is more up to date, the Celtics got here by a quirk of fate
3 times to the Finals in 3 years, it’s enough to reduce Big Baby to tears
Perkins had to admit it’s true, Against Bynum there’s nothing he can do
Revenge as they say is best served cold, Sorry Celts but you gonna fold
Celtics your thug act we’re ready for, You act like a thug, You’ll hit the floor
But can a 70 year old really be a thug, you aint got the body, sure got the Mug
Can those old Celtics even get down the court, Or need a walker for support
Don’t think we’ll go easy on your @zz, because you’re old & run out of gas
Being on the floor means you’re ready to play, On your behind we gonna stay
Now don’t go having no heat attack, Take your beating like a man, don’t be whack
When the Finals are over & we have won, hobble your @zz out in the setting sun
The sun has set, you know it too, The legend of the Celts is over and thru!

Anyway, I don't have forces to rewrite it all.

I just finished to watch the rerun of Green Enemies trashing down Magic again and I have to admit I am surprised.

They rised up from ashes in these playoffs in a remarkable way, can't deny it.
And I have to call myself a bit of a fool cos I sentenced them dead three weeks befre playoff started.
I was PAINFULLY wrong (I admit it when I am).

Now it's not that I am worried about them, but I have to respect their hunger for win.
They're the only other team in NBA which has the similar "Shark Factor" we have, so of course I get a bit concerned. But in the way sporty people use the concern to develop the focus.
Don't get me wrong.
I'm not scared nor should be our Lakers.

This year is shaping up to be the Revenge Year.
So let's keep having the Suns, and then let's have the Celtics (very likely at this point) to complete the full circle.

I am thirsty for blood.
Green Blood.

I'm just curious to see how the game tonight will develop.
We just have to avoid self-complacency, and everything will be fine.
Amare Sto-oupid-mare will get again why Lamar is so better than him. Sure Candyman is not constant but he is tehre when it's requested. And when he's there, nobody can have him (copyright: Kobe Bryant).

I hope to see again what I did in game 1: good D, excellent O (at a certain point we were never having a basket equal to another... it seemed the Harvard of Basketball on display... it was awesome!).

I'm all for it.

Go guys, we have some more work to do before a well deserved Parade.

;) Catch you later fam ;)

Does that mean I can wear my Purple & Gold Thong Edwin? LMAO!!

Yes, Lamar was lucky to be traded to the Lakers after his stint with the Clippers, got into trouble in Miami but became a disciplined player in LA. Two years ago, he lost his infant son but last year he was married to a Kardashian. I believe that is luck that Amare does not have. In this series, I consider Lamar Odom as the great liberator of the Lakers. He and Kobe are the great co conspirators in our campaign for the redemption of playoff losses of 06 & 07.

Today Lamar Odom will be a different player. Last Monday was a coming out party with great surprise. Tonight, it will be Odom Part II.

Indeed, Amare was correct in saying Lamar was lucky last game and also this season. Lamar is not only lucky but a man with a mission. I compare him to a heroic character of a South American hero, Simon Bolivar of Venezuela. It is ironic that Bolivar's campaign of liberation was against Spain, in our case our greatest ally is a spaniard, Pau Gasol in our campaign against the Forbidden State. Here is how Simon Bolivar redeemed his country in his campaign against Spain, I quote: "Simon used audacity, swiftness, surprise - avoiding frontal attacks, taking the enemy in the flank, breaking off segments and destroying them" - that will be Odom tonight.

Odom's presence inside and outside will outflank whatever plans the Suns have prepared for the Lakers. He will attract guards as he continues his penetration on Suns post, he will continue to out rebound Amare offensively. He will move swiftly taking away the attention away from Kobe and Gasol. Because of Lamar's surge in activity, it frees up Kobe and Gasol to do what they are known for. Lights out and Suns eclipse at the Staples.

Bynum is our bogeyman in the paint or our surprise ace in rehab.

I am thirsty for blood. Green Blood.

Hey Mamba baby, find me a little spot on that bandwagon. I know the Suns are going to throw every thing they can at us so we must be ready to go in for the kill.

To Amare, ~yawn~ You think you can get into our heads the way PJ does to others? Puh-leez.

;) You cute Larry ;)

And.. the responsible of the post loss was ME ;)

I didn't see you had to put a code validation for it ;)
Yes, sometimes I am THAT dumb ;)

Lol ;)

Good morning Mamba, Rick, Psyched(nice to see you again),

I am here and ready for duty. Like Rick, I can't contain my excitement for tonight. Looks like it's gonna be a Lakers/Celtics final people. I can't wait!!!!!!!

Mamba24, if you wear your thong, be sure to display them in public. They have to see the purple and gold. Are you aware that gold is now more expensive than green bucks? As such, the purple and gold Lakers are more attractive than the green Shamrock old leprechauns. The latter are winning so they are extremely happy blogging here with confidence.

From the LA Times......

After the Suns practice, Amare and a few others settled down to a nice Chinese meal at the Lucky Dragon's $2.99 'all you can eat' luncheon buffet. Who have their own version of the 'Don't ask, Don't tell' policy. With a sign placed above the spread, "You no asky what's in it, and we won't tell"

Amare, with a self satisfied smile, and stomach gurgling, eagerly opened up his 'Good luck' fortune cookie only to have his face turn stoic and cold. He quietly placed the fortune on the table and left the restaurant without leaving his usual .50 cent tip.

The $1.95 per hour Mexican busboy, soon to be deported, obviously disappointed with no tip. Picked up the slim piece of recycled paper, reading the back Spanish version on the fortune slip.

It said in English. "He with big fat mouth. Will be silenced with own big foot in mouth"

The Mexican busboy grinned as he put the slip into his pocket and walked away........

I think a "Kobe face" should be given to everyone at Staples tonight. Now that's sending a message.

Red,

Did you really have to bring that up? I already got Laker fans throwing Magic (the man not the team) under the bus. Oh the humanity.

Magic doesn't want to be seen as a Laker homer. And now he's the next Wilt - faded superstar and greatest laker ever trying to defend his legacy... or is this part of his grand master plan of challenging the Lakers to rise to his criticisms and predictions? is it part of his grand master plan to recruit LBJ?

Will leave you to decide.

One thing is clear, like it or not...
Back2Back Payback

Good morning Lakernation,

Just like my fellow Lakerholics I am reporting for duty. It is time for revenge, redemption. I may not be in my best emotionally but my love for my Lakers never wanes. They give me joy in time of sorrows, a refuge when I needed one. Last year when I lost my Mom, Lakers won a championship. Gave me a reason to smile, to chanel my energies. This year I lost my beloved aunt and the prospect of winning another championship is on the horizon. Thank you Lakers for giving me reasons to celebrate.

I agree with most regarding Odom. He is in it for the redemption against the Suns and Celts on the next round. This year is the year that the Lakers will redefine greatness. THE TIME IS NOW!!! It is just the beginning of greater things to come.

My Laker fam, I can't thank you enough for all the support and prayers.

All my love,
Jeanette

"The Boston Celtics are primed to not only sweep Orlando, they are prime to win the NBA title!" - Magic Johnson

~~That statement was addressed to his beloved Lakers which means the boy scout motto: BE PREPARED. Magic knows the leprechaun tactics to conquer and divide through illicit means and dirtiest way possible. Their only goal is glory, even if it is disrespectful and empty they enjoy and celebrate. That has been the attitudes of the leprechauns in the past and continued to their new generation of fans. Magic was aware that he will be quoted, used, exploited to sow chaos among the funny looking Hollywood celebrities and the unbridled Laker fans. Being lakerholics in us, with deep love and devotion to our team, we immediately react to the uncanny situations. We entertain the seed of doubt on the Laker that gave us 5 Championship. We pit him against Kobe. Is that not the objective of the leprechaun? Therefore, let Magic earn his living with ABC, he has to praise the Celtics before burying them. Let them rejoice and be contented with their hallowed victories in the East. Yesterday was a very physical game, to me I find it dirty and cowardice, another sign of leprechaun tactics reincarnation of McHale and Ainge. Once they get to the Finals, it is our time for redemption. This will be a back to back redemption against a Forbidden State and against Tormenting Leprechauns.

If Kobe were not on this Lakers team, I'd be very afraid right now. In year's past (think 1980s), mental collapse was typical in repeat years (until 1988/1989)

With Kobe, there is no such thing as last year, except when it comes to having a memory of atoning for defeat and learning the lessons of prior mental let down.

Now that Kobe is healthy, there will be no stopping him on what is about to become one of the greatest playoff performances by an individual in the history of the NBA. He's already half way there and his performance continues to trim out as though he just keeps upgrading parts to get that extra horse power boost (as if he needed it).

Now, if Ron Ron would just go out on court 2 hours before the game, each and every game, this task will be so simple...

our DATE WITH DESTINY

When dark threatens to extinguish light, Lakers and Celtics collide. When good and evil can't coexist for another second, Lakers / Celtics collide. When love is threatened by hate, Lakers / Celtics collide.

The path is clear. It's time to get ugly, turn up the tough. Pain? what pain? Injuries? Cut me.

No Fear, the Suns shall illuminate our path, aid in our preparation for the battle ahead.

The good, the light, the love, will prevail... rise up! GO Lakers!

Mamba24,

We need to get a new "bandwagon" going.

The time has come to formally "christen" the Staples Center!

No Laker "home" is officially christened until the Boston Celtics win an NBA championship on that floor :

A} The Minneapolis Auditorium {Celtics, 118-113 on April 9, 1959}

B} The LA Sports Arena {Celtics, 112-109 on April 24, 1963}

C} The Forum {twice dedicated...Celtics, 124-109 on May 2, 1968, and Celtics, 108-106 on May 5, 1969}

Mamba24 - OK OK I"M HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just have 1 thing to say: Mamba24 - the thong is our secret weapon for the FINALS. SHHHHHHHHH.........

I am so completely GEEKED right now I can't stand myself!

Time to douse the Suns, boys.

No let ups.

No mercy.

No hope.

GO LAKERS!!!

Nothing but another title will suffice - Kobe Bryant

Lakers get the last word.

Last meeting of the 1980s, Lakers win on Boston home floor.

Last meeting of the 2000s (2000-2020), Lakers win on Boston home floor in stunning game 5.

MM - another idiot troll has just insulted our fine sister Jeanette. PLEASE - take care of this atrocity.

Kobe would like to thank all those fans in Boston that chanted MVP while Paula and Doc were purposely throwing games in a desperate attempt to salvage a dead franchise.

As a token of appreciation, you will get to cheer for him in person as he's handed the Bill Russel finals MVP trophy after game 5 at center court.

See you then.

It said in English. "He with big fat mouth. Will be silenced with own big foot in mouth"

MAGIC IS LIKE: “When E. F. Hutton talks, people listen” (E. F. Hutton)

Magic is right about the Celtics, this team is playing great team ball. It is all about catching the perfect wave and Celtics are not only riding this wave and peaking at the right time. So are the Lakers but with one major concern, Drew is hurting. We need Drew, no ifs ands butts...

MICHAEL H... “Aloha Laker Tom, You are absolutely right about Drew. He changes match ups. I have maintained all along that if Drew had been available in 2008 we would have won, even without a great series from him. Drew in the line up allows Pau to play against power forwards and not the more physical centers. If we do meet Boston in the finals, Perkins has to guard Drew and that allows Pau to play against a less physical Garrnet, which he plays very well against. And when the Celtic's bring in Wallace, we bring in Lamar, who can chase him to the 3 point line.” Aloha, Michael, and thanks for the support. I’m hoping that Drew shows up big tonight. With the way everybody else is playing, a healthy Bynum would make this team unbeatable.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OUCHHHHHHHH... Thanks for responding with grace. I apologize for calling you names. My problems with you are not due to the little jabs you throw at me. The problem is more how I feel you disrespect Pau Gasol. I understand your frustration with Pau and how he sometimes fails to finish strong or protect the rim but every NBA player, Kobe included, has their strengths and weaknesses. To me, Pau is such a valuable player on this team that he does not deserve to be disrespected and insulted, which is how I perceive many of your posts. At any rate, I do admit to laughing at many of your wry comments and will try to keep it more civil and courteous in the future. In the end, we all want the same thing: Lakers dominating the Celtics to win our 15th title.
~
Thanks also for the link to Perkins’ comments. Even though he is a Celtic and would probably reverse what he says about Drew and Dwight were he playing the Lakers, I do agree with his assessment of Howard. That he is able to be guarded 1-on-1 by Perkins and last year in the Finals by Gasol as well as his terrible free throw shooting says worlds about how good a player he really is. A superstar has to demand a double team. As for your comments about my backtracking, if you have read my posts through the years, you know that Kobe Bryant is my favorite player – not Andrew Bynum – and Kobe can shoot as much as he wants when he is hot as far as I am concerned. Same goes to any Laker. It’s the shots guys other than Kobe take when they are not hot that kill me – or when Phil pulls the hot hand just to keep his rotations on schedule. I have always believed you find the matchup where you have the advantage and then you milk it until the other team stops it. As for Drew, we need to get him going because he will be critical against the Celtics. Peace. :-)
Hello Lakers family,
Not really related to the blog posting, but on the Magic loss last night, I dont see Matt Barnes talking much any more, let alone trash talking! The only disappointment I have from Orlando losing is that we wont have a chance to see Barne's face when we kicked their butt to the curb in the finals.
All the code does is create an extra barrier to posting, it's not really going to stop trolls.
Facts is facts. Bynum's post moves are considerably better than Dwight Howard's at this point.
If Howard had had Kareem teaching him, he might be an absolute beast on offense at this point. Instead, he's still mostly about dunking. If you can keep him at least 3 feet away from the basket (and most people can't), then you make his offense much much less efficient.
Bynum has more post moves than Howard, better footwork, and can hit a jumper out to about 15 feet (about the distance of free throws... coincidence?)
>>>PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE SUNS THROATS & SWEEP THEM LAKERS
HUH?!?!?!?!??!!??!
Mamba24
Bynum may not have the defense of DHoward, but as others have pointed out, his offense is superior.
Thing is, Bynum has a lot more room for improvement - in his rebounding and in his offense.
Don't fire Cap Socks... utilize him even more until you've perfected that which Cap offers. There's no way he's perfected it yet, so dumping Cap was a hasty decision.
Bynum is on the cusp of just being average or slightly above average. This franchise player stuff is far removed from his abilities at this point...
More work to do Mr Socks, starting with tonight.
Mamba24
Mamba24,
There is little need to ask forgiveness. I just wanted to make sure that I had atoned for any transgression. That I have not transgressed, I am relieved. You have lifted my heart with that news.
In my mind's eye, both the Lakers and Celtics are rushing towards each other in the fashion that they have in years past. Matching each other, blow-for-blow, against all-comers until the time to meet together arrives.
They are looking squarely in the others direction while they simultaneously brush aside any with the misguided notion that they are also contenders.
It is the same as how Bruce Lee will casually vanquish all of the Big Boss' henchmen on his way to the real dance.
It is all about Boston. It has always been about Boston. Boston is the only franchise that has earned our respect...and our derision.
--FEARless-
MM, Thanks but there was just a derogatory post that slipped by against Jeanette. mark my word anything said in our vernacular is derog. at this time.
Okay, people are getting a little too cocky here. I don't expect the Suns to just lie down and give up. They are a very talented team with some amazing 3 point shooters. I expect them to steal at least one game in the series, and if the Lakers get complacent after that game 1 massacre, I could see them taking the series to 7 games.
Much as I'd like a sweep, I'll be perfectly happy with two game 7 victories by 1 point. You don't get two rings if you sweep.
This upcoming LA / Boston clash reminds of that scene in The Matrix where Neo and Mr. Smith are coming for each other - in the air - slow motion - and then BOOM!!!!!!
Yeah. And we know how that ended.
The Lakers are the chosen ones.
The weeners are the illusion.
BUT - first the Suns must be extinguished.
(Thanks LTLF for reminding me to remain humble).
@justanothermambafan, this ones for you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyAiHpjviJQ
So I find all the bandwagon jumping going on to be hilarious.
At the end of the season, pretty much everyone in the media was picking Cleveland to win it all.
Then Cleveland got crushed like a bug by a more determined team and then everyone was saying how great Orlando were, and how Boston's gutty little performance against the Cadavaliers was good, but no way could they match up with Orlando's superior depth.
I should also mention that plenty of people have been saying that the Lakers can't match up with Phoenix's superior depth and offensive prowess as well. And pretty much NOBODY was picking the Lakers to beat either Cleveland or Orlando for a championship.
But of course, now that the Celtics have smacked down Orlando twice in a row, all the pundits (including Magic) have bandwagon jumped once again. Now everybody's saying the Celtics are going to win it all.
But you know what? The fat lady ain't even gone to the theater yet.
Both wins by Boston were close games. There's still a small chance that Orlando could turn it around and win the series. Ask the 2004 Boston Red Sox if you want to know about comebacks. And of course, if they do, then all the pundits will jump right back on the Orlando bandwagon.
To me, it's been pretty clear most of the season that it would come down to the Lakers and Celtics. They both played smoking hot ball until about Christmas, then they both had some injuries and played kinda half heartedly much of the second half of the season. And then they both turned on the switch at the start of the playoffs and started playing like the teams that won the previous two championships.
From Adrian Wojnarowsk:
'The Celtics walked into Amway Arena with a 2-by-4, and just started pounding on the Magic. The Magic are downright dazed, staggering and on the brink of a TKO. The Celtics jumped Orlando, and they’re halfway home to a possible meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals."
A 2-by-4? That's a piece of wood isn't it?
I guess you can say that's the Celtics are laying the wood on the Magic.
I wonder who predicted that? Of course, your friendly old basketball favorite...
