Tweet of the Day: "Congratulations Dad - you are officially a Hall of Famer!" -- JeanieBuss (Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss)

Reader Comment of the Day: "I still have faith in this team but am reaching a place where failure wouldn't be surprising and at the All-Star break I would have never said that. This stumble at the end is hopefully a loss of focus while reaching for the goal too soon as opposed to a loss of will. Focus can be shifted. When the will goes, so to does the body and any chance of repeating. Thursday will be a battle. We need to show up." -- Jamie Sweet

That is a memorable picture of Johnny Grant, the honorable Mayor of Hollywood Walk of Fame, he died two years ago. Jerry Buss was still young in that picture but still looks like great Grandpa of Paris. lol!

Congratulations Jamie Sweet...that was outstanding remark. You also belong in the Blogs Hall of Fame. The honorary Mayor will be Mr. "Thread-full" Medina.

Oh well...
It took me a day to read all that I have been missed during my Easter Retreat.

Though the first thought I keep in mind after that all is "why is Paris friggin Hilton aside Mr. Buss up there?", the real thing that floats in my mind after reading all articles and then all of your posts under them is just and always this one: Lakers in decent Healthy State = WIN.
Lakers in compromised enough Healthy State = LOSS.

It's just how I see this.

The chemistry problem isn't really there: these players can play together, and we have got glimpses of that even in this up and down regular season.

Ron can hit his threes (and we have got glimpses in this up and down regular season, too).

Lamar during playoffs is certainly more likely to be the one against Jazz than the one against Spurs.

Kobe will find his way as long as his finger&knee don't bother him too much.

Pau can just do everything.

Bench... oh well, okay: bench frightens me since start of the season but I also know they can handle a better roll than the quite irregular they've shown so far.

Hopes?

I don't talk in hopes terms.

I mean, I do, but in the end to me is really up to our Healthy state.

One point of hope though is that Christian and Catholic holidays are over.

Xmas Shame just paired up with Easter Oddity in serving the picky and well raised Staples crew with some of the most indigest meals of their recent years.

Poor my fellow Lakerholics.

At least in Italy in both cases the evening of both holidays was well into ending... but I bet many thrown up their chocolate eggs as much as they did for the Xmas meals months ago.

Will I be banned if I candidly confess that seeing Ginobili's game last day really thrilled me as a mere bball fan?

I know, I was hating him for making us looking bad but on the other side, he just comforted my theory that once you own class, you can do everything.

Which gets back to my main point regarding our Lakers.

Class-wise, we are by far the best of the whole lot.

And if syllogism goes regularly... you get me.

Before I dwell into Barcelona - Arsenal (now on tv, and that's not soccer, sorry, that's the one and only REAL football ;)) let me just wish you all although belated Happy Festive time (hope you all had a decent time anyway), let me compliment MM for getting better and better with his writing, let me compliment you all for your passion about our guys and of course (thought I was forgetting? NO WAY) least but not least, let me THANK MY HERO KOBE FOR BEING AS IT WAS NATURALLY MEANT TO BE A LAKER FOR LIFE.

You just made my soul find a comfort place of orshipping forever my Kobe.
Thank you
(and please, at the day of your induction in Lakers Fandom HOF, please please please... *avoid* Wonky Hilton's scary famedigging face aside, okay?)

Hugs everybody.

It's good to be back (and a lil bit tanned... though okay... not really by Californian standards ;))

Wuttup crue!

Laker Tom - sorry to hear about the Mrs. - that IS funny but sad... I'm sorta like that. I wanted to come back - I tried to come back - but I'm unable to come back. Sad but true. I'm allergic to pain. I still have a lot of it and all they did was scrape out cartilage. Still - I go back on Thursday to see what's up, so I'm praying for the miracle lol! You never know - I could be back in time to start for the Lakers LOL!!!! I'm sure I could do a better job than some of our bench.... HAHAHAHAHA!!

Mamba24 - thank you kind sir for putting me on the I STILL BELIEVE bandwagon. What's with all the chicken littles??? Seriously. If you're gonna call yourself a Laker fan, and you don't believe, you really need to be dragged out back and caned to within an inch of your life, because a TRUE Laker Fan believes in their team. We've seen this before people - act like you've been there.

MAMBA… Please add me to the I still believe Bandwagon. Let the doubters, non-believers, turncoats, haters, and infidels turn in their Lakers gear right now if they can no longer cheer for and root their team to victory.

TOM

I have always assumed I am on the Bandwagon and I try to be the Voice of Reason. So keep me there MAMBA24! Have been a Laker since my parents took me to see Jerry and Elgin play the ST. LOUIS Hawks (I'm old(er)) in St. Louis back in the early 60's. I was VERY young then, ha, ha, really I was. At least I never saw the Minneapolis Lakers, ha, ha. I am just covered with Laker Gold and Purple!

The photo at the top is hilarious!!

Old guy: HEY!!! How does Buss get a cutie like that and I've gotta bring my old lady???

mamba24, I would like to take a ride on the I still believe B-Dubb! Absolutely.

If you're in doubt, you best get out!

Mamba, please add me to I Still Believe Bandwagon. No matter what the outcome of this journey will be, I will always believe! But cahmonnnnnn how can you doubt Kobe Black Mamba Bryant! He might be struggling but playoffs is a whole different beast! We all know that our starting lineup will fight through and through; blood, sweat and tears will be laid out on the floor before you make these guys wave the white flag. Plus Ron is a different monster come playoffs, we all witnessed that last year!

Is it Thursday yet!!?!

Like I said before...
I'm not worried until we lose our first home playoff game,
I won't panic until we are one game from elimination.
We survived Jerry West's 7 broken noses, Wilt's broken hand, Kareem punching Kent Benson, Kermit Washington's suspension, Magic running out the clock when we were tied not ahead, the Memorial Day massacre, James Worthy throwing the ball away to Gerald Henderson, Nick Van Exel shoving a ref, Ceballos' water-skiing, Radman's skiing accident, Kwame and Smush. Compared to all that, this mediocre finish to our regular season is just a tiny blip on the radar screen.
16 PO wins to title #16!!

If that isn't a photo for a caption contest, I don't know what is!

I'm in to, mamba24, OF COURSE!!!!

Great read & great comments here:

Cheers.

I did see the Lakers in Minneapolis where I grew up! So, I've been a Lakers fan for 52 years!

MM..

I'd like to give you more credit than the rest of the agenda driven media but it looks like you may be well on ur path to becoming another SELL OUT times writer. Just a warning.

I STILL BELIEVE - BANDWAGON
*
(01) RICK FRIEDMAN - OWNER - I'll continue to withhold judgment on this team until the playoffs begin. Trying to read tea leaves now is simply not a worthwhile exercise.
Meanwhile, count me among those who still believe. I do. Go Lakers!
(02) THE OUTLAW - DRIVER - GO LAKE SHOW!
(03) MAMBA24 - RIDING SHOTGUN - yes it is true. I believe in 10 Rings, Mamba, Gasol, The Machine, Luuuuuke. I believe in all of The Lakers
(04) #4 - If you're in doubt, you best get out!
(05) JUSTANOTHERMAMBA - SECURITY - What's with all the chicken littles??? Seriously. If you're gonna call yourself a Laker fan, and you don't believe, you really need to be dragged out back and caned to within an inch of your life, because a TRUE Laker Fan believes in their team. We've seen this before people - act like you've been there.
(06) CHICNSTU - REFEREE - It's time to play the game. It's time to come together as a team and as fans. There are too many great players on this Lakers team, i won't give up so easily. Play defense as a team, play offense as a team, come together as a team. DO IT NOW!
(07) EDWIN GUECO - Never underestimate the Lakers if they have Kobe, Artest, Gasol, Odom plus Bynum I hope. These starters could still win it all.
(08) D(EREK) J(ETER) - I am hoping for whatever, whatever, whatever, and whatever toward our Repeat. I am a Realist or you are a Dreamer, ha, ha. As Jon K says, Lakers today, tomorrow and forever!
(09) LAKERTOM - Let the doubters, non-believers, turncoats, haters, and infidels turn in their Lakers gear right now if they can no longer cheer for and root their team to victory.
(10) LadyJem24 - please add me to I Still Believe Bandwagon. No matter what the outcome of this journey will be, I will always believe! But cahmonnnnnn how can you doubt Kobe Black Mamba Bryant! (12) MAGIC PHIL – I’M IN TO!
(13) ZAIRA AMATERASU - THANK MY HERO KOBE FOR BEING AS IT WAS NATURALLY MEANT TO BE A LAKER FOR LIFE.

Nuggets Country, I have been upstaged, WOW! Minneapolis Lakers, very cool!

read pfunk's and yellowfevers's comments hmm... I think what there saying is that there has been little to no threads calling out other guys..etc..like when pau and fish called out Kobe.. they haven't been exactly stellar themselves and jus how is artest working out thus far???btw in the title it's mentioned about Bynum's mri ..is this the second onee or third?? cause in that case it was mentioned b4..just saying..

...or how about pj's coaching for that matter? a few games a year are definately lost because of his substitution patterns...reminds of those years I think with rasmbis.as hc ..were shaq subbed himself in games..a lot of times this team blows leads when Kobe sits ..and when some guys are hot phil pulls em'..it's been this way for years..but he has 10 rings..so I guess he deserves a free pass...lol

Kobe is an amazing player. But at times he shoots too much and doesn't take good shots. You guys are way too sensitive. Any criticism of Kobe and Fisher
and you little babies go nuts.

Hey DFish,

Do you go out of your way to be a tool or is it completely natural?

Hey Eric Wright,

Same Question.
