Photo Caption Contest: Lakers guard Kobe Bryant wearing green

p>It's almost sacrilegious for any Lakers fan to wear green. While the color often reminds people of money, the environment or most recently, St. Patrick's Day, Lakers fans associate that color with something they despise: the Boston Celtics.

ESPN Los Angeles' Brian Kamenetzky recently provided a pretty good nugget that this animosity toward the color green extended to Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic, who pledged to cut the color out of his wardrobe entirely after the team lost to Boston in the 2008 NBA Finals.

But that philosophy apparently doesn't extend to Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, whom TMZ spotted Wednesday with his daughter, Gianna, at Disneyland wearing green.

Before you get bent out of shape and think Bryant is committing treason, consider two things. It was St. Patrick's Day, and it is normal for people to wear green on that holiday. And Bryant didn't wear a Celtics shirt. The soccer aficionado wore a Brazil shirt featuring Ronaldinho.

So the spirit of the latest photo caption contest isn't to incite a mob, but rather just have some lighthearted fun. The best photo caption will be featured in Saturday morning's links post.

Kobe: Now listen, Gianna. This is the ONLY time of year you can EVER wear green. Ok? EVER. Cuz we HATE the green weeners, right honey? Right. That's my good Lakerholic girl!

Picture one, Kobe: "What do you mean you don't want Celtic green sitting next to you?"

Picture two, Kobe: "How about if I give you twenty bucks?" Daughter: "Uh, no."

Wes

"on the quality of entertainment we provide for our National Teams, he's a 10 and i'm a 10. we deserve the GREEN"

Kobe: "See sweetheart, this is why daddy can never and will never be a Celtic. I just don't look good in green. Don't you like daddy better in purple and gold?"
Gianna: "Yeah daddy"
Kobe: "That's my girl"

I say our postseason hopes rest with Bynum and Sasha. If Bynum shows up and dominates with Sasha hitting multiple threes a game, then we win another title. I really believe this. I believe that if Andrew averages 20/10 and if Sasha scores over 10 a game then we'll have the inside/outside balance that we don't currently have (there is zero outside game right now) and we'll be unbeatable.

If we just hit a few jumpers in a row, we'd blow teams away by 20, 30, 50 points. Problem is, we haven't had a player hit from outside with any regularity at any time this season. Not one, not once. This might be the most irregular a Laker team has been since the Showtime Lakers had that buffet in Tampa...

Can we hit some shots? Please?

Wes

I'm the bogeyman.

It looks like there's a lack of conversation recently, too much time between games.

Hey, how about this article on Yahoo sports talking about the up coming draft and the quality point guards. Saw this paragraph:

"Collison’s play in Paul’s absence could land him on the All-Rookie team, but has also led to speculation he could be traded before next season. Teams looking for a quality starting point guard could be calling the Hornets about Collison. The Hornets are expected to be cautious until they are certain about Paul’s health, but one NBA source said it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the team try to package Collison with Peja Stojakovic’s(notes) expiring contract next season in a possible trade."

Hey Mitch, put that on your things to do list this summer.

Ok folks, what do you think we might need to give up to do so this trade.
Really now, what might be a decent trade, a win-win. Maybe package Farmar or Brown with someone so N.O. would have a backup for Paul. I don't know Collisions salary trade offs that would need to be in line.
It also wouldn't hurt us to take Stojakovic, still a decent spot up 3 point shooter?
Anyway, it seems this trade possibility would be one the Lakers just have to take a look at, agree?

Picture 1
Gianna: You have on green. People are staring dad.
Kobe: It's not Celtic Green.
Gianna: I don't know dad.... Didn't you say people who wear green are weenies?

Picture 2
Kobe: C'mon baby girl it's all good!
Gianna: Well...... you're kinda of scaring me with that green on dad.
Kobe: Come on baby girl it's me.
Gianna isn't buying it as she continues to look at her dad with a skeptical look that says: Who are you? What did you do with my real dad.

Gianna: "Green is the new couture, daddy."
Kobe: "Yes Gianna, and it's also eco-friendly."
Gianna: "It kinda makes me feel mad though. I don't know why."
Kobe: "Hm. That's odd."
Gianna: "Yes. It's odd. Like when you made me eat glazed corn beef and cabbage."
Kobe: "Oh. I didn't do that Gianna. Who's my pumpkin?"
Gianna: "I am, daddy. I am your pumpkin."
Kobe: "Do you want clam chowder for lunch?"
Gianna: "I am feeling angry again."
Kobe: "Shhh. It's okay. We'll get the rest of your princess autographs after lunch."
Gianna. "Okay daddy."
