Andrew Bynum recovering slowly, probably won't play this weekend

Bynum_300 Lakers center Andrew Bynum won't be back as quickly as he hoped from a strained left Achilles' tendon.

Bynum planned to return to action later this week or early next week, but neither looked attainable as of Monday.

"I was hoping to, but I don't think it's going to happen," Bynum said. "I'm able to walk with minimal pain. I can't really walk very fast without feeling something. I'm just resting it, trying to stay off it as much as possible."

On Monday, Bynum missed his fifth consecutive game with the injury, which was sustained while he ran downcourt in a March 19 game against Minnesota.

Bynum will be re-evaluated Friday, but it looks as if the earliest he could return would be April 8 against Denver. He is averaging 15 points and 8.3 rebounds a game.

Trade Andrew for Collison and Okafor.

Trade Andrew for someone who wants to play

Andrew Bynum can officially claim the title of being "HALF-MAN HALF-A-SEASON" from Vince Carter

From now on, Phil Jackson should take a new strategy along with the triangle offense: start playing Bynum for the last 25 games

Just please come back in shape for the playoffs

Why isn't Sasha playing?

Trade Andrew Bynum, SheShe "The Machine" Booty Chick and Luke Walton for Candice Parker

Does anybody see that the two point guards that we have do not play a lick of defense, just go back and look at a lot of there games and see the other teams point guards points. We need to get a solid point guard that can score when needed and dish the ball. I'm tired of seeing Fisher and Farmar not playing worth a crap.

I really hope we try and get a point guard either in the draft or make a trade(Chris Paul)? since Darren Collison is playing lights out. The guards we have now are just not cutting it.

Bynum is done for the season. I like the kid for the most part but I think he'd rather be in the Playboy mansion than on the court during the playoffs. I don't see that burning desire to play that you see in the great ones..Unfortunately since he plays on the same team with one of the greatest competitors in NBA history , his compete level just looks puny by comparison.

Anyone else shooting that long stooo..oopid 3 from downtown with all that time remaining like Kobe did, would have been benched for life!!

Espy after the coach tells them to stop shooting 3's

I saw Jackson yelling at him. Why didn't he just bench him?

That kid is a "demented three faced narcissist" alright

Trade him for Lebron!

Andrew Bynum, brother, to the extent of reason, you have to play through the pain. It's part of being an athlete.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

@johhnie yeah right trade kobe for lebron, lebron also shoots threes with lotsa time left in the shotclock and clanks most of them

Don't blame Andrew if he doesnt come back before the playoffs..Blame the lakers..They are famous for downplaying injuries to sell playoff tickets. It could be more serious then the lakers are letting on..Don't be surprised if it turns out that way.
