Bryant new Lakers' all-time scoring leader

Lakers1_586

Kobe Bryant didn't want to break Jerry West's record until returning home to the familiar confines of Staples Center.

Then came a tight game against the Memphis Grizzlies and, well, there went West's record.

Bryant scored his 29th point of the game, and the 25,193rd of his career, on a dunk with 4:14 left in the third quarter tonight at FedEx Forum. The play began with Ron Artest's steal. Jordan Farmar then fed Bryant for a dunk in a two-on-none situation.

The play brought the Lakers to within 64-60.

Fisher update: After 3 quarters, 0 points, 0 assists.

Oh, I forgot , he is in the game for defense !

Scoring isn't the only or best measure of a basketball player, but Kobe has the other categories covered as well. It was only a matter of when. I feel lucky to have been able to watch him paint this masterpiece of a career.

Congratulations Kobe!

Too bad you are stuck with incompetent teammates who do not have the same drive as you.

Another loss to a team with no identity. I am sick and tired of Ron Atest and Bynum. Please please trade them.

DFish, tonight I'm with you. Fish absolutely sucked tonight.

There was someone from Kenmore in the stands taking notes on how to improve their vacuums.

Why the hell didn't Jackson call a timeout and draw up a play for the final shot of the game? The Lakers didn't really deserve to win this one, but then again, neither did Memphis. It came down to the Lakers' final possession and Phil blew it by not calling a timeout, regrouping, and setting up the best possible play to score. Thanks Phil... I usually love you, man, but you let this one slip by. Maybe the long trip was getting to you more than anybody else.

Way to' ruin Kobe's amazing night.
Sigh.
I should never ever again predict road games streak. 5-3 I said. And 5-3 was. I never fail there.
Sigh.

I blame our usual post epic win and b2b related self- complacency.

It hurts, but it's more a pride thing than a serious trouble.
It hurts though.

Grizzlies were punks, in all ways - good ways I mean.
Referees and the speakers instead were just punks. Period.

I am sorry for Kobe. He did all he bad to' and he did the right thing in the end. Just that not always you get it at the end and others around - beside Artest- just did not all they had to'.

But let's not dramatize. Grizzlies played their 200%. we played our 75%.

It makes me angry temporarily, but these Are the usual Lakers in these kind of games in regular season.

This is.

Another heart racing thing that has gone wrong. This time.
I am only sorry for the immense Mamba. I hope he tells at everybody making them feeling bad. Pau, angel... Your cuter bro today won. But I have to' admit referee protected him way too much.
You still better on the court. No doubt here EVER . But you gotta ask Kobe forgival, for the last layup. Do it. Your face editing the arena tells me you have already.

Guys, don't dramatize.

There's no real need. We've seen tons of these games. They Are a push.

Let's focuse on Kobe's achievement. I will and not cos I like to' be' blindfolded, just because this game stays in the general order of regular season in a normal way.

And now... Bit of sexual healing. The marving gaye style ;)

ps: i read you all in chat. Justa, sadly there's nothing doable about me missing that. iPhone doesn't support the flash requested to' post in there. I will come sometimes through pc, but that makes me virtually unable to' proper follow game on tv... I will though at Times. Promised :)

ps2: thank you MM for delivering my cheers :)

Try not to' pour off too much hate on the Lakers. Have faith. You should know how we work. I do. And now I will just let the löss slide away, and celebrate my hero, lakers king scorer, Kobe The God Bryant.

Night ;) (well, morning and dawn here, but you get the picture ;))

Rich M I'm sure glad you're not the GM of the Lakers. The Lakers don't win yesterday against Boston without the efforts of both Artest and Bynum. Bynum's physical play and Artest's defense, especially drawing that offensive foul late in the game were the biggest differences in the game against Boston. You act like people aren't entitled to have a bad night. Bynum was in foul trouble all night while Artest hasn't been doing very much offensively and it showed tonight. Give them a break. Quit acting like 1 game, the 2nd night of a back to back, means so much. The Lakers are fine, they don't need to trade the major components of their lineup. If they make a trade it will be someone like Morrison or Sasha and possibly Farmar that won't impact the team and will make the bench better. Relax, it's one game.

Fyi the Cavs lost to this Grizzles team earlier in the year as well. I for one am not going to make a big deal out of this single game.

As for Kobe becoming the all-time leading scorer in Lakers history...big deal...they lost. I partly contribute it to everybody standing around while Kobe tried to go out and break the record and even Phil eluded to that. The Lakers are better when Kobe doesn't take around 30 shots and plays more of a team game. Anyways I'm hoping that the Lakers are able to finally get a win against the Bobcats that always seem to play them tough and somehow win against them.

ok, i can't take this game seriously, so i don't want anyone to worry about that, and i will not join any dissing kobe bandwagons, what? seriously guys? kobe? yeah, he sucks *cough* sarcasm *cough*- but, \

i do think kobe has pretty much *(&)*ed up any idea that he doesn't pay attention to records. that dunk pretty much had; 'yeah, i'm injured, and i can't do this very much, and i will pass the ball to drew and pau when i have to , but YEAH BABY, THIS IS FOR SPORTSCENTER, I'M THROWING IT DOWN, AND YOUR LITTLE PUPPET TOO!

not that there is anything wrong with that.

Utter gibberish, case of mental diarrhea and lack of writing skills is what this post reminds me of:

Please get off the crack!!!

mobile park dweller- you can say that again!

ok, ok, what criticism exactly did you have in mind? elaborate, please.

LO why you don't bringit no more? Are you ever going to consistently play to half your potential? You and Fish are dragging the team down. I thought you would start to like the highlight reel now that you gone hollywood...

Dear Phil please start jiggering the rotations...

Congratulations Kobe Bryant!

He is Mr. Gunner supreme. There is no team there. He is all the have. To see real basketball played again...
