Bryant new Lakers' all-time scoring leader

February 1, 2010 |  6:59 pm

Kobe Bryant didn't want to break Jerry West's record until returning home to the familiar confines of Staples Center.

Then came a tight game against the Memphis Grizzlies and, well, there went West's record.

Bryant scored his 29th point of the game, and the 25,193rd of his career, on a dunk with 4:14 left in the third quarter tonight at FedEx Forum. The play began with Ron Artest's steal. Jordan Farmar then fed Bryant for a dunk in a two-on-none situation.

The play brought the Lakers to within 64-60.
