I cant wait until this game is over, and hear these phoney fans on this site finally start complainig about what I have been saying all season, the bench after Odom stinks, AB tears up and his spine shrivels when he plays a decent team on the road. Its almost game time, anyone want to differ.
Posted by: VMan | January 31, 2010 at 12:30 PM
If Bynum can play the rest of the game like he played in the first, THIS is the sort of game that will help establish a better rep for him. There were a couple of times where he flat out schooled Kevin Garnett, he made a hook shot over a double team of Sheed and KG, he blocked a shot by Kendrick Perkins and challenged several other shots.
If he keeps up this level of energy, not only will it GREATLY increase the Lakers' chance of winning the game, but it will show people Bynum at his best in a nationally televised game versus one of the best teams in the league.
If he can keep this up, then if any front court player gets injured between now and the All-Star game, I bet AB gets picked to replace them.

Hey VMan,
So far, the stats for Andrew Bynum are 12 points, 4 rebounds, and a block. In one quarter.
Jordan Farmar has a steal and 4 points in limited minutes.
You have no clue.

Well, Half right, bench just gave up another big lead though, And there goes the Celtics fast breaking us again. Hope we meet Orlando or the Cavs, as this team owns us.
Posted by: VMan | January 31, 2010 at 01:29 PM
Way to break the rhythum (sp) PJ! Doing great until he puts the subs in!!! Can we regain that?? Think we get a loss here. No one to contain RR.
Posted by: DJ | January 31, 2010 at 01:37 PM
So we're old, eh....Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
Posted by: Emerald City | January 31, 2010 at 01:44 PM
That's just great, Jackson interrupts the momentum we had going and now KB24 thinks he has to do it all to bring us back. Down at half, and probably will loose today. We finally get AB as the Beast and PJ sets him out. What a coach!!
Posted by: DJ | January 31, 2010 at 01:44 PM
I actually do believe it was while the STARTERS were in that the Celtics built their 2nd Qtr lead.
Posted by: Jon | January 31, 2010 at 01:45 PM
VMan,
Bench didn't give up the full lead. When the starters came back in, they still had a 6 point lead. It was the starters who gave up the rest of the lead and gave the Celtics a 10 point lead. Kobe missed free throws and shot 1 for 6 for the quarter. Fish threw the ball away to Rondo to give the C's a fast break. Artest double-teamed Kendrick Perkins in the lane, leaving Paul Pierce wide open for a 3-pointer. Pau gets a defensive rebound and throws the ball right to Rondo.
The bench mob were shaky in the 2nd (especially Luke and Shannon Brown), but the starters were worse.
Posted by: Long Time Laker Fan | January 31, 2010 at 01:48 PM
I truly believe Phil Jackson purposely sabotages the lakers as a sad excuse to keep himself around as an overpaid coach. He calls timeouts at the worst times, and doesn't call timeouts to break runs by the other team. The Lakers were cruising today and his substitutions sucked the life out of the Lakers. Fisher can't guard Tony Allen, he is too short, slow, and old. Kobe sagging off Rondo justs let Rondo break down the Laker defense. Yes, allowing Rondo to shoot from a distance is worth the risk, but not when Rondo is penetrating and dishing out.
Posted by: truelaker | January 31, 2010 at 01:49 PM
How can we go from completely dominating this team. And making them look like they are not in our league to this. Experts are right, our bench stinks. All the competitors have a great bench but us. Mitch really needs to address it.

Posted by: crzyfan | January 31, 2010 at 01:51 PM
Actually, in a way I'll agree with DJ here. I think Phil forgot what's worked best for him this season. He started the second quarter with 4 bench players and only one starter (Pau). Not only did that group lose half the lead, but the starters lost their edge and Boston got their swagger back (especially Rondo).
If he'd have gone with 3 bench players and Pau and Artest or Pau and Kobe, things probably would have gone better.
Posted by: Long Time Laker Fan | January 31, 2010 at 01:51 PM
You guys don't get it....the Lakers stink !!! They are great at beating cupcakes. If Boston chokes in the second half the Lakers will win. Otherwise this one is over !!! If it hard to win when you play 4 on 5 every night. I hope I see most of you at the San Antonio game, so you can pick up your Mr. 0.04 retire t-shirts !!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: DFish | January 31, 2010 at 01:56 PM
Didnt we add Ron Artest just for these type of tough road games, again, where is he. And to think I wanted Lamar to get his money when he held out. Can we get David Lee here instead.
Posted by: VMan | January 31, 2010 at 02:02 PM
Pau and Bynum playing pretty well ....but need to stop throwing up cream puff shots. go to the rim - so it might get blocked. More often will be a foul or a dunk.
Posted by: dkwsfo | January 31, 2010 at 02:13 PM
Fisher can't guard Tony Allen, he is too short, slow, and old.
True Fan
He can't guard anybody !!!!! If anybody thinks he can...please name a palyer.
Posted by: DFish | January 31, 2010 at 02:13 PM
If we don't play smarter then we lose. That simple. I would like to see Odom play more to help facilitate, assist, and grab those important boards. No boards no rings.
4th quarter.
Posted by: B | January 31, 2010 at 02:33 PM
PAU GASOFT. This player is a sissy.
Posted by: Tom | January 31, 2010 at 02:39 PM
Pau gasoft once again shows how scared he is. He is scoring below his season averages against elite teams and rebounding below his season average. He needs to man up and stop playing afraid. PAU GASOFT needs to shed his label because it is proving true right now
Posted by: Tom | January 31, 2010 at 02:40 PM
Gasol trade changed the NBA ? Who are they kidding here ? He is one of the softest big man in the history.
Posted by: Al | January 31, 2010 at 02:42 PM
GASOFT please can you step up against elite teams. I'm tired of watching your fear on the court. Please you can do better.
Posted by: Tom | January 31, 2010 at 02:42 PM
GASOL needs to make a GROWN MAN move. Wait, just make a boy move. You have been playing like a girl the whole game.
Posted by: Tom | January 31, 2010 at 02:44 PM
GASOL cannot even get a rebound. Let's Rondo get in there! Please Gasol you are a wimp
Posted by: Tom | January 31, 2010 at 02:46 PM
Kobe and Lamar with like 20 points between them, and Gassy isnt Sassy anymore. Please Boston, dont come out of the East, we're a Scarrrrred.
Posted by: VMan | January 31, 2010 at 02:46 PM
I predict the Lakers to lose.
Posted by: never | January 31, 2010 at 02:47 PM
Well, it's back to a close game. Early in the year, the Lakers were winning all of the close games, but they've lost the last two (Cleveland and Toronto) where they were close near the end. Hopefully they can play a bit more focused than they did in those two games.
Posted by: Long Time Laker Fan | January 31, 2010 at 02:56 PM
not a good shot ron ron. (3 with time left on clock and defender in his face) Remember calm assertive.
I think you get just a tad nervous sometimes and jack things up.
Let the flow come to you brother!!! Don't force the flow.
Crunch time begins now
Posted by: B | January 31, 2010 at 02:57 PM
I'll say this. If the Lakers do end up losing this game, the lion's share of the blame has to go to Kobe. After the first quarter, he's shot like poo. And if they pull off the win, it'll be despite his shooting.
Posted by: Long Time Laker Fan | January 31, 2010 at 03:00 PM
Holy CRAP!!!!
After a bad shooting night, Kobe makes a clutch shot over some very good defense by Ray Allen.
C'mon, Lakers.
JUST... GET... ONE... STOP!!!!!
Posted by: Long Time Laker Fan | January 31, 2010 at 03:06 PM
Most of you will agree with me on two points, we need a healthy Kobe to have a chance at winning again, maybe a little rest would help. and also since Fisher has no offensive game and is a defensive liability, what actually is the value of his still playing as a starter.
Posted by: VMan | January 31, 2010 at 03:09 PM
Hey! LakerTom,
He did it! Woo!
Posted by: hobbitmage | January 31, 2010 at 03:09 PM
All you Faker Fans support your team the Lake show did it. They won.

way to discover the flow ron ron!!!

I am Crying of emotional strain and joy like a baby.

I love u.

Lakers were outplayed...very lucky to win !
Posted by: DFish | January 31, 2010 at 03:11 PM
in spite of bad shooting from Kobe(but not when it really counted and not the reason for losing), poor play from Gasol(hey, sometimes things just won't go your way), and SOME OF THE WORST OFFICIATING I'VE EVER SEEN, the Lakers found a way to win,and Boston found a way to lose. good game!
Posted by: mud | January 31, 2010 at 03:12 PM
Oh yeah baby!
Go Lakers!
Posted by: Rocky | January 31, 2010 at 03:14 PM
Way to go!
Bigs stepped up - ugly at times, but that is how it goes against Celtics interior D. Not in love with how we played offense in several extended sequences. Way too much standing around and not enough ball movement. With those hard double teams on Kobe, better flash moves to the post areas and ball movement should have exposed open looks. Instead we played into the teeth of the D. I hope we learn from this as this is a common fault of the LA offense at times.
But hey, we won. Kobe - another tough shot and another game winner. The guy has amazing will. And playing with a broken finger, and sprained ankle - man o man - awesome.
Thanks Kobe for saving my Sunday and another great win for the Lakers in Boston.
Posted by: dkwsfo | January 31, 2010 at 03:19 PM
Great win. We still need an Eddie House.

VMan,
>>>I cant wait until this game is over, and hear these phoney fans on this site
>>>finally start complainig
STEERIKE ONE! No complaints aloud after any victory over the Celtics.
>>>about what I have been saying all season, the bench after Odom stinks,
They're probably pretty sweaty and smelly right now, if that's what you're getting at, but Jordan 4-4 for 8 points plus and assist and a steal, Shannon Brown 6 points 4 boards 1 assist 1 steal, and ironically though Sasha had no stats, his defense was solid and they were +11 with the Machine on the floor.
STEEEEEERIKE TWO!
>>>AB tears up and his spine shrivels when he plays a decent team on the
>>>road. Its almost game time, anyone want to differ.
19 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks and an assist. ANTI-SHRIVEL!!!
STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERIKE THREE!!!!!
YER OUTATHERE, VMAN!!!
Posted by: Long Time Laker Fan | January 31, 2010 at 03:21 PM
I made my prediction right on time.
Posted by: never | January 31, 2010 at 03:22 PM
And to show pfunk that I give fair credit when due,
Luke really played like crap tonight.
Posted by: Long Time Laker Fan | January 31, 2010 at 03:22 PM
Trade Bynum! No way.
This game was a fight and they didnt give up, found a way to pull out the W. Thats what the really good teams do. Doest have to look pretty, ya just gotta win.
2010 marks my 25th year as a Laker fan, lets celebrate it with another ring!
Posted by: Art -FL Laker Fan | January 31, 2010 at 03:24 PM
Vman, it was indeed rocky there for a bit. I must admit I was the first one to pick on the bench...because they gave the Celtics confidence. But at the end of the day the blog collectively rally capped their way to victory.
One love. Go Lakers!
Posted by: Faith | January 31, 2010 at 03:26 PM
We don't need an Eddie House -- he is rather erratic if you ask me..But I will settle for a consistent outside shooter....But everyone wants perfection..& so far we are doing just fine with what we have so I won't complain!!!
Kobe's Da Man!
Posted by: lakersrydeordie | January 31, 2010 at 03:26 PM
Lakers were not OUTPLAYED -- that's Bullcrap! If anything, we PLAYED DOWN TO THE LEVEL OF ANOTHER INFERIOR OPPONENT!!!
and guess what??? We still won! Gotta love it...
Posted by: lakersrydeordie | January 31, 2010 at 03:28 PM
Kobe's shot was kind of short but he raised up for the winning shot so all that other stuff is moot!
Posted by: lakersrydeordie | January 31, 2010 at 03:30 PM
Like Kobe always says, :its not how you start, but how you finish." Sometimes you just got to muck out the ugly wins!!
Posted by: lakersrydeordie | January 31, 2010 at 03:32 PM
Drew 19 and 11, in 33 minutes, versus a supposed physical front line. Just saying. Keep him out of Memphis.

>>>>>>>>Kobe and Lamar with like 20 points between them, and Gassy isnt Sassy anymore. Please Boston, dont come out of

0-3 in the Last 3 meeting against the lakers= who owns who?
Boston is old and breaking Down...Just like the Spurs!!!!!!!

Pau did not play that bad. He had some wrong ball decisione, but he kept fought all night and actually helped minimizing energies of the Celtics in the end with an obscure work that was precious albeit at Times kind of rusty and dirty.
Artest today showed us all why is great to' have him.
Amazing responses from Drew to' all the detractors.
And once again, out from all the critics, again Kobe proved there's a reason for which no matter what I would ALWAYS let him have the last shot. Always.
This was a typical Lakers game: absurd at points, and then defying all logic, something turned MAGICAL.
Following this team requests strenght and faith. I never give that up even when like today the guys drove me insane.
This has been a milestone game: the way we didn't let it go was awesome and all of the guys took part in this.
All of them
I am happy, proud, and GRATEFUL for another emotional, priceless gift from the one and only, the amazing Los Angeles Lakers.
Just believe.
Always.
Night!!! It's sexual celebration right here now ;)

Excuse me while I have some CROW. Thought we'd get beat today, but KB24 almost shot us out, shot us in! I also concede that AB was a Beast today! Phil should have gone to him more. If he will play that way consistently, we Repeat!
Posted by: DJ | January 31, 2010 at 03:44 PM
Ill be the first to admit.-BEST OVER ALL GAME BONE HEAD BABY BYNUM HAS PLAYED IN HIS LIFE. Lakers were fortunate with Kobe's lack of defense and ball hogging it but then again he found a way to win. Also Phil, when Walton and Artest are just taking up space you need to sit them. Artest is looking to pass first at times he could dunk the ball (unless of course he tries to do every game with the guys around him). Gasol was frustrated and his play showed. The refs stunk Kobe and Gasol getting hammered and no calls) and the league needs to look into their instant replay under 2 minutes. Looked like the refs had money on this game!!!
Posted by: George | January 31, 2010 at 05:37 PM
BYNUM! BYNUM! BYNUM!
I told you so....................................!!!
Bynum and Artest made the difference in this game. The "kind of difference" I have been saying the whole time.
Gasol and Odom are for finesse championship teams only, BYNUM, ARTEST and KOBE are for Championship of all seasons!!!
Posted by: Staples 24 | January 31, 2010 at 10:53 PM
It is official in this blog, all Bynum-bashers are now BYNUM BELIEVERS.
How can you not, the very green c"s of PERKINS and GARNETT who intimidated your purple and gold have been demolished by the "ANDREW BYNUM ATTACK" !!!
The BIG DIFFERENCE!!!
