Live Lakers-76ers Chat plus a note in changes to the Lakers blog

51891088

The Lakers blog, effective today, will also feature posts from our Lakers' beat writers Mike Bresnahan and Broderick Turner, giving everyone here more Lakers news and notes for their reading pleasure.

Brez and BT (as I call them) have often supplemented their beat coverage in the newspaper on the Fabulous Forum blog with breaking news tidbits, in-game updates and other supplemental items. The most recent example includes Brez's note on Thursday that Lakers forward Pau Gasol was selected for the NBA All-Star game, hours before the news was officially announced on TNT. Now that coverage will instead appear in the Lakers blog so that we can give you the best and most comprehensive Lakers coverage in the blogosphere.

Beyond that, I will fill the same role I have served these past few weeks, hosting live game chats, writing post-game and practice items, shooting video and finding other ways to satisfy your insatiable Lakers fix.

I have worked well with Brez and BT for the past nine months in various capacities, and I'm sure you will notice that in our coverage. That may be obvious to you already. After all, they already assigned me a nickname in one of our post-game videos.

Oh oh, Artest the Mad Bomber has just put a couple of serious daggers into the Sixers' belly.

Can't understand why some people still cry for Ariza. The two are different kind of players and bring different things to the table. However I always believed that Artest' physicality and toughness and intensity will be a plus over Ariza's finesse and speed comes Playoff time.

Artest's value over Ariza will be much more evident in the Playoff when games will be slowed down and become much more defense-oriented.

Bone Head Baby Bynum 2-6 and 3 rebounds, standing around on defense. Geez, Wonder why he wasnt chosen for the ALL STAR Game. Pathetic! Why is Phil playing this waste of 14 Mil per yr, oh I forgot its the first half because he doesnt produce in the 2nd half. Sorry I forgot!

COMMENTATORS POINTED OUT BONE HEAD BABY BYNUM NOT DOING THE FUNDAMENTALS -LIKE RUNNING DOWN THE COURT AND BOXING OUT HIS MAN. 5 years in the NBA and this low IQ cant do the little things.

What a game! Bynumb showed em! He had 6pts , 3 Rebs and an assist. That's how to dominate a poor team! Fish shut down Iverson big time, AI had just 23pts on 10-18 shooting. Fish, the new Glove, had 2 assists too! If I was Drew, I would have busted the 6ers for 30/15/5!! Show those coaches how they messed up! But no, he dropped 6/3/1?
I'm thinking we have no chance at Boston. Seriously, we need to figure out who's at point and is he on another team right now? If the Hornets were serious about trading CP3 for Tony Parker, why not CP3 to Lakers for AB and FarmarworsethanIthoughthewas?

I hope AI send Fish a thank you note and a bouquet of flower after tonight's game. Thanks to Fish, AI must have felt like it was 2000 and not 2010. Ah, must have felt good to relive his golden days when he used to dominate.

I know it's more than that but interesting thing about the +/- stat: for Fish it was -6 (worst on the team) while Farmar got a +12 (best on the team). Chew on that Phil!

As for AB, isn't it amazing just how "soft" a rebounder he is? You'd think a guy his size could just stand in one place in the paint without doing anything and a rebound would have by chance hit his head more than three times a game, LOL.

I would have busted the 6ers for 30/15/5!! Show those coaches how they messed up!

I think your blog is very good, very poetic, also very talented, hope you can pay attention to my blog, thank you for coming.
