Kobe Bryant survives scare

Lakers1_300 What looked to be a serious injury to Kobe Bryant turned out to be only another roll of an ankle, twist of the knee without serious consequence.

Early in the third quarter, Bryant was running up court when he collided with 76ers forward Elton Brand. Bryant rolled his left ankle and staggered. He grabbed his left knee and hobbled around the court before he signaled to the Lakers' bench for a timeout.

Lakers trainer Gary Vitti came over to assist Bryant. During the timeout, Bryant jogged around the court a few times before going back into the game.

The Lakers knew Bryant was ready because as soon as he came back in, he got a steal and scored on a jumper after that against the Philadelphia 76ers Friday night at the Wachovia Center.

He attacked again, getting fouled, making one of two free throws.
