Live chat: Lakers at Phoenix Suns

No Ron Artest, no problem? Well, that was the case against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, but the Lakers shouldn't underestimate Phoenix.

The Lakers' lackadaisical Christmas Day performance illustrated that the purple and gold machine still needs some tinkering underneath its impressive 24-5 skin. It'll also be interesting to see if Andrew Bynum can make an impact tonight and keep his devotees on the bandwagon.

[UPDATED, 8:35 p.m.: Suns defeat Lakers, 118-103.]

This team looks like Kobe and Andrew cant play together all of a sudden anymore, if Kobe has a big game, Bynum disappears, if the big man plays well, like tonight, where's Kobe?? Lets get back to everyone getting their touches like we did in the playoffs last year.

LAT Lakers Blog Rise Up!!!

A New Voice joins the blog… from The Nation's Capital…
A New Voice with Wisdom & Perspective…
A Voice Steeped in the exploits of The Logo, Gail Goodrich, The Stilt, Magic Man, Big Game and The Captain (and of course Chicky Baby - long live the "refrigerator").
A Voice who is, and always has been in awe of the greatness that is the Black Mamba!

Ask Yourselves... (And be honest) could you even sit through a Laker game if Kobe Bean Bryant was not on the floor to create Hoops Magic?

Get Real People!

I am a transplanted Angeleno now adrift in the Nation's Capital... tethered to Championship expectations by the Purple & Gold & This Laker Blog & the daily jaw-dropping exploits of number 24 (and numero Ocho before that).

We are spoiled People! And those who cannot see that do not deserve the greatness that is The Black Mamba.

ADD ME TO THE ROLL CALL!!!!!

And in the spirit of the Legendary Jon K...

What do we witness? Greatness!

Who do we bow to? Mamba!

Talk to you again soon…

Sincerely,

DC Mamba

SUNS play a little better when they're rested and at home.

I think we are playing well, and we shoudn't expect our team to win every game. I also think we need to replace our general manager for his poor judgement. Trading Shaq for Odom, and trading Ariza for Artest. Poor poor judgement on his behalf. Still I think we are going to be the top team in west!

Go Lakers Go

Also one more thing our schedule from beginning was very favorable unlike other teams. Playing most game at home, no back to back games, playing with good teams on the second day of their back to back games, and so and so, made us with very unrealisticly good records. But now we are experiencing what we should have from the begining. So don't be disappointed and let's cheer our team, to play better and better and do not throw garbage at our team.

Go Lakers Go

I hope this is an end of the year funk. We got Kobe, Gasol, and plenty of roll players, but the roll players, specially the bench, has been garbage. When will Bynum understand that he needs to be a force on D and let Gasol handle the interior scoring?

There is no excuse even without Artest. Where did the will to win go?

If someone sets T.J. Simers on fire and no one is around to see it, is it truly a tragedy?

This is a great philosophical conundrum.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!

So... this game is not exactly a surprise for me inits ending numbers.

I was worried about things previously to its start and all just materialized on court.

Not that this makes the loss any prettier. BUt it gives it more sense.

I am happy Kobe didn't have to sweat and try to save again the day. I am not kidding: we needed a game where the Mamba (another impressive score by him anyway...) just sat and let the rest deal with their troubles.

He did this also last year.

I am a bit surprised by some of the questions thrown in during the chat. Why so short memory? Last year we had blowouts with smaller teams. Kobe being angry at teammates. Kobe doing all by himself. The rest not stepping up immediately.

This is all regular. Even more regular for us.

I am not concerned.

Tonight we had an awful defensive attitude.

Bynum actually did a pretty decent job in teh first two halves. Then the fouling got the best out of him and got him off court.

Pau was clearly tired. Not soft. TIRED. Which is understandeable: he hasn't got the preparation and he has been injuried. It's normal to have a defeat in energies after playing the game he has with the preparation he has got. Again.. people who have done a bit of sport season in practice should see truth in my words.
So no concern there.

I get everybody asking "why they are all not like Kobe? doing their overbest always?"
Well... Kobe is UNIQUE.
He finds strenght nobody has. His mind teaches his body in a not human way. I never ask others to be like Kobe cos nobody can. I ask others to follow Kobe's lead and example with what they got. It would be enough.

Tonight they partially tried. And we failed.

But it's a useful thing.

Suns had their type of game: their quick schemes getting rid of our sloppy and untimed D.; their shots being good, and that outshone even referee on our backs.
Referee are always gonna be a trouble. We can't really count on that. Better stop whining about it cos it won't take us anywhere, and better not cover our flaws with that excuse cos it would be a double sided knife onto us.

The Bench Trouble.
Well... I am all for let them play more. I wish we had from previouses games. I might get why PJ won't play them more (I guess he has to deal with the same words we ave for teh bench daily, and sometimes he just can't bother with it and so he tries to play safer), but it's time to play the bench, maybe keep losing games but get them OILED for the bigger picture.

This is the same bench who was giving us breath of air in teh past two seasons.
THE SAME.
They just need to have some chances and see what they can do for us. Things they have all already done for us.
In the worst scenario, maybe some of them could look more appealing for trades. (though I am not really up for trades, you know).

I hope right now our guys are spilling the blood out of one another in the locker room. I want them to be confrontational. To start get back pressure not by us or by the rest of the NBA or by useless targets like All Star c**p: I want them to feel the pressure derived from one another. The only one that works in a locker room.

I want good old Kobe to sjhout at them all and question their impact. That will work.

Our team is an accolade of IMPRESSIVE skill. We are a bit sitting on our laurel and we need to shake the glitter off.
We will.
And there are these games helping us in repeating, more than wins.

For all of those wandering what did happen to us, where our drive has gone missing... and all the rest, I just say all is within each one and every of our players.

They need to step out of comfort zone to get the hunger back. And this games are so helpful there.

They need to forget we are the champions. But if we are the champions there is a reason and the reason is this is an excellent team.

Today we were minus Artest. Artest: the one who has got a wonderful series of performances with us.
This is not a minor minus, and it's funny how practially nobody mentioned this tonight.

I love Ariza and I heart him and for him I have always got nothing but praise. But Artest IS a STEP UP.

Which makes us a better team than the one we won teh ring with last year.

I don't see anybody asphalting anybody else right now. And even if that would be (which is not), I would not put my bets on that "flawless by december time" kind of team at all.

We need to be a rollercoaster way later than now.

Put things in perspective and try some foreseeing.

I am certainly not celebratory about a loss.

But if I do analyze the game, the time of the game, the things that happened within it and prior to it... I can't be shocked and I am honestly not worried.

I would like to be a fly to be in the locker room and witness Kobe's rage, but I can picture it anyway well in my own mind.

It's gonna be useful.

Cu tomorrow. It's almost 6 am and I can sleep one hour before wakin up for real and go to work ;)

The Lakers are simply not that good folks. The team can't play D and on offense the triangle offense has disappeared. It seems that due to our lack of outside shooting our bigs get double teamed fairly easily.

Overrated.

I been a laker fan for a long time and I really I dont like this bench, They need to trade Jardan Farmar for a back up for Fisher, A guard that come of the bench and produce points, assist, Also a another Power foward to back up Paul Gasol, Becouse we have a back up for Andrew " Lamar Odom, With Luke out of the line up we dont have a bench. If the lakers are going to Repeat as Champions again...

Lakers need to trade Jordan Farmar, Sasha, and Morrison

This is my opinion

What the Lakers really need is trade 2 or 3 players such as a back up for Fisher, And another Power Foward to back up Paul Gasol. and another shooting guard to back up kobe or brown. If we are going to repeat as CHAMPIONS again..

We need player that love to play on the court and take serious what our Lakers are trying to accomplish " CHAMPIONSHIP 2009-2010 LETS GO LAKERS

Lakers need to trade Jordan Farmar, Sasha, and Morrison

Laker Fan for life .............. GO LAKERS # 1

The Lakers Always had a bench and this is the yr we dont have it at all...

Still looking for a signature win against a quality team.

This is the same team as last year except for Artest, so they can win against good teams. The bench was crappy last year too so that's no excuse. Maybe the will's just not there this early in the year. Maybe they feel like they can coast since they don't have anything to prove now.

Eh, I'm not going to worry about it any more, except to hope Bynum gets his mojo back. The Lakers have a tough road test coming up, so hopefully they'll have things figured out by then, or it might get a little ugly around here.

Lakers are bound to lose after winning two against the Suns, 4-0 is asking for impossible with too many injuries on Lakers line-up. PJ was rotating the players but combination was just awful. Even if Ariza is part of theLakers, they'd lose tonight. Resting Artest from travel was a good decision so he is fresh for tomorrow on a home game.

This is disgusting, uninspired basketball. Thank God for the DVR. This team became sooo overconfident early on because of their easy schedule and all of the b.s. talk of them breaking the Bulls record. They have been half butting it games for almost a week and a half now. They didn't show up for the Christmas game at all. They barely eeked out a win over one of the worst teams in the league(Sactown Queens), and now another blowout to a team that they DOMINATED the first two meetings of the year. Like I've been saying all year long(not on this site),this team has the capability of being so good that they should only be competing with themselves. Instead, we get flashes of brilliance here and there. It's time to shake things up just to prove to these overconfident guys that they need to PUT UP or SHUT UP. Ship Bynum out with any combo of players besides Kobe, Pau, Lamar, or Artest. I'm tired of all of the excuses. I want to see passionate, well executed ball out there. I'm tired of this garbage!!!!!

Wish we can have anthony morrow.

WHAT THE LAKERS REALLY NEED IS TO MAKE SOME CHANGES ARE FROM THE BENCH SUCH AS TRADING COUPLE OF PLAYERS, 1st. A POINT GUARD TO BACK UP FISHER, 2nd. A POWER FOWARD TO BACK UP PAUL GASOL,3rd A SMALL FOWARD TO BACK UP RON ARTEST, BECOUSE RIGHT NOW WE DONT KNOW WHEN LUKE WALTON IS COMING BACK..

THIS PLAYER ARE NOT GIVING ANY PRODUCTIONS ON THE COURT SUCH AS JORDAN FARMAR, SASHA VUJACIC, ADAMS MORRISON, WHEN PHIL BRING THE BENCH NO MATTER HOW BIG IS THE SCORE THE BENCH CANT KEEP UP AND WE NEED TO BRING OUT THE STARTING LINE UP AGAIN AND THATS NOT GOOD AND SPECIALLY BEEN THE CHAMPIONS. AND WE NEED TO LETS OUR STARTER STAY ON THE BENCH TO REST OF THE 4th QTS FOR THE NEXT GAME LIKE BACK TO BACK

THIS IS MY LINE UP FOR THIS PLAYOFFS NEED TO BE

STARTING LINE UP

ANDREW BYNUM
PAUL GASOL
RON ARTEST
DEREK FISHER
KOBE BRYANT

BENCH

LAMAR ODOM
NEW POWER FOWARD
NEW SMALL FOWARD/LUKE WALTON
NEW POINT GUARD
SHANNON BROWN

MBEGAN CENTER
JOSH POWELL SMALL FOWARD
NEW SHOOTING

THIS CAN BE A BIG TEAM TO COMPETE WITH THE SORRY TEMS ON THE EAST BOSTON, CAVS AND ORLAND IF WE ARE GOING TO BE ON TOP OF THE WORLD AGAIN AS CHAMPIONS. lets trade couple of players

IM A TRUE FAN FOR LIFE " LAKERS IS IN MY HEART " AND I HATE SEEN TEAMS LIKE OKLAHOMA , HOUSTON, TEAMS THAT ARE ON THE LOW SIDE GIVE US PROBLEMS COUSE OR BENCH IT NOT GOOD TO COMPETE

WE ALWAYS HAD A GOOD BENCH AND NOW WE DON'T

FROM 1979 TO 1990 WE HAD IT ALL AND FROM 1999 TO 2002 WHEN WE WON 3 CHAMPIONSHIPS WE HAD A GOOD BENCH.....................................................

Pretty uninspiring game. Agree with Zaira that Pau is playing tired, but it is hard to know if Artest is an UPGRADE over Ariza until playoff time - Ariza was clutch in the playoffs - did things to win games; it is not known how Artest is gonna perform in that climate. Defensively Artest is definitively an upgrade, but who is that clutch knock down shooter gonna be? That forth offensive player that is left open?

Doug

poor effort. bad looks. sloppy. no energy. not using their heads.

reading this blog recently is depressing.

oh, and the Lakers don't look so hot too. Whatever. There is a bigger goal and we will get out of the day days of winter. still looking to ship out Farmar though. And right about now is when people start to say nice things about Luke Walton. a plus for Bynum. Kobe is stepping up the leadership and being vocal. these dudes better take it the right way and listen if they know what's good for them.

sleep tight Laker Nation. all will be well soon.

who wants to start a trade for McGrady bandwagon?!! ((crickets crickets))

The wins are coming harder, and the losses are convincing.

It'll make us stronger in the end.

Blazers lose to the pitiful 76ers AT HOME?

Kings beat Nuggets??

Celtics lose to WARRIORS??? After being beaten by the CLIPPERS????

At least the Laker fans aren't the only ones scratching their heads over their team...

I for one really want to see some trades taking place now. Sasha is useless - he is not going to help this team win another ring. Dump him - of course no team wants him. Farmar is trash. Man - they're making Walton look like a superstar! That is Mitch's problem - all the lame-o's we have - no team wants. The only way to get a better PG will be to trade away someone like bynum, LO.

To me, as long as we keep Kobe, Pau (back to being a female), Artest, everyone else is eligible for a package deal.

Can someone knowledgeable about trades give us some possible options? I don't know about all the trade rules and salary stuff - however, let's not hear about getting CP3 - we all know that aint happening.

And Lakers stop complaining about every foul!! Just play through. If you're going to get called for a foul then beat the smash the crap out of the player you're fouling. Make it worth it. Like Shaq did to Paula. Floored him and from that point Gasol was worthless.

Well this is a fun stretch, isn't it? Pau looks like he lacked energy tonight for some reason. I'll give the Suns credit though; if they catch the Lakers on a bad night, they can take advantage of it with their proficient shooting and ball movement. Bad shooting and lack of energy plays into their hands very well.

Otherwise, its good to see the bench guys get some burn even in a losing effort. Phil basically put it on them to win or lose this game. Glad he did that...they need to feel responsible for winning or losing. They rely on Kobe saving the day too much.

Sigh...we looked like the Celtics tonight. That's not a slight....its just that the missing 2 small forwards with size in Ron and Luke has its consequences defensively and offensively. Less post ups, less ability to mitigate mismatches with a smaller Suns team. If there were any night the Suns were to beat us, this would be it.

There is something missing from this team. The offense is out of whack. The defense is out of whack. The team chemistry we saw last year is not there. The attitude is not there. Pau and Bynum are not jelling together. I love Artest for defense, but I believe other teams just like we the bloggers realize that RonRon can't finish at the rim and is not very quick. ( I believe this is where the team misses Trevor the most). I don't want Kobe to save them. Mitch has got to make some changes to the bench. 1) Teams are packing it in becase we have no one who is a constant three point threat. 2) We have no one who can create their own shot besides Kobe to draw the defense in 3) Our point guards are getting killed by everyone. I love Fish, but the point guard play is awful. You add that to the fact that every good team in the league got better this year and will play their best against the Lakers. Teams have went back to let Kobe kill us we will stop everyone else. Earlier in the year when we were beating bad teams the offensive play drove the hard defensive play. Now it looks like they have no drive at all. We will be in the playoffs, but at this point I'm not sure if they can beat Dallas, Denver, Utah or Portland. I hope I'm wrong because it is the beginning of the season, but they don't look good

Its funny that we say Trevor vs. Ron, Ron vs. Trevor, etc. Lets not forget that at this part of the year, Luke Walton was the starter. Trevor's reputation was somewhat bolstered by the last images of him at the finals...but at this point in the year, Luke better for the team because Trevor was merely a scorer and finisher, not a facilitator.

Luke and Lamar off the bench make the team a whole lot better. Tonight we saw Lamar as a starter. The core of the bench is essentially ripped up, and for the last couple of games, Phil's been messing around with Sasha and Shannon's PT to see what fits. They just haven't played together all that often. So they get some PT to see how they do. Live and die by 'em to give them that experience.

As for trades to make us better, I'm not against them, but I'd be more inclined to say that as fans, the team is the one out on the floor each night until told otherwise. A deal right now while teams still have hope would mean that those teams would overvalue their players. You gotta get THEM while they are desperate and we are in a position of power. They aren't desperate enough yet, though we have a position of power with the best record in the NBA. No teams are tanking (yet) so I'd say throw all the trade proposals out for now.

Whew. Finally caught up, or at least read yesterday’s posts, I think I lost four or five days there somewhere, but that’s what family stuff will do to you. I did notice a certain lack of ‘where the heck is phred? I miss him, and his outstanding masculinity,’ but then again, I might just be insecure. In no particular order; a few thoughts, if I missed y’alls comment, well, you should probably be thankful, the mood I’m in.

Mamba24- I realize it’s not my line, but OUT FREAKIN STANDING! I don’t know, I don’t take anything anyway from anybody else, but your attitude and poetry are probably the biggest asset to a good blog mood we have.

Holy Cow, did we get some kind of ‘make your posts a lot longer’ edict that I missed?

Yeah, Ron was drunk, most likely, unless I’m wrong, but I don’t know why we have to complicate matters, I go with Occam, the simplest explanation is probably best, and Hennessey is a nice simple explanation.

Troy- nice of you to show up, man. Of course, I will assume you are an entirely different troy than the one who staked his entire reputation on the Lakers not winning the title last year. (I kid.) (I think.)

Not his first, but one of phred’s rules of blog reading; Nobody is as good as LakerTom says they are, let alone Bynum, and nobody is even close to as bad as anybody says they are after a loss or a close game. Saves time for everybody. No charge.

“…It's just too politically correct to say the Lakers are still the Champions and only have five losses to date, so there's nothing to lose sleep over. You know who's losing sleep? Phil. In a quote posted on The Site That Shalt Not Be Named, John Ireland shares an exchange with PJ on Saturday:
John: ‘Now that you've had a night to sleep on it … what bothered you the most about the Cavs loss?’
Phil: ‘You think I slept last night?’…”
Posted by: Rick Friedman | December 27, 2009 at 08:56 PM

Rick- thanks, now I feel a lot better. If Phil said it to John Ireland, I’m dang sure it isn’t what he’s thinking. Nobody likes yanking the John Irelands of the world around as much as Phil. Of course, if I was dating Jeannie I probably wouldn’t sleep much either, but whatever, Phil is old, so that’s probably less of a thing.

LakersFaithful72- good post. I have been a little disappointed by lakersfaithful01-lakersfaithful71, so I’m glad you are taking up the slack. (yeah, that’s a joke.)

“Bynum for CP3”
Posted by: Trader | December 27, 2009 at 11:42 PM

Good idea. Not sure why nobody has thought of that one, it would be a complete slam dunk. I’m sure Mitch is kicking himself for turning that down so many times. Probably was waiting to see if chicago would bite on 'Bynum for Noah and Hinrich.'

I'm never entirely sure what gms are thinking, but it has always been my impression that trades happen when other teams want something you have, not because fans dislike a particular player. Maybe we could start a stealth campaign to get LakerTom hired as gm of cleveland or new orleans before the season is over, that might help.

Zaira- great as always, but what the heck is ‘asphalting?’ It doesn’t seem to translate.

“I wish I came home with lipstick on my collar instead of [urine] stains on my shoes.”

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE LOVE

GO LAKERS!

I don't have too many thoughts on the actual game, I don't really think that it shows much more than that we are a bit tired and have a short bench. I do feel a bit better about it because frankly i don't think we played even close to our best basketball. I would feel a lot worse if I was a fan of a team like, say the Kings, who gave everything they had and played out of their minds only to lose anyway.

It's not fun to watch a game like tonight's, but if we never lost we'd never appreciate winning.

Also i think i'm actually glad that Ron Artest is at least getting some rest for the rest of his body, and i'm not entirely sure that his brain, something like Lamar's right hand, is possibly not the worst thing he could hurt.

And hey, Luke Walton should be back sooner or later, and he should be rested, if that helps any. We also could play Josh Powell at some point if we get really desperate, and I do believe we still have an open roster spot. If the top brass were really hitting the panic button, they'd probably feel they'd have to add somebody, so maybe they still have some confidence in the guys we've got.

There. Did I miss any other silver linings?

And apologies, my grammar and syntax seem to have taken a long walk off a short pier tonight, and i've probably taken too many shots at other bloggers (bloggees?) I should probably just take a few shots of something else, but I've just had too much to do recently. Whaddya gonna do.

THE LOVE MISSES BALLOON BOY.

THE LOVE ALSO ENJOYS A GOOD NON SEQUITOR EVERY NOW AND THEN AFTER A CLOSE LOSS.

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE LOVE

GO LAKERS!

Yawn.

Mamba... I forgot to' thank you For including TWO of my signatures in the roll call?!?? Dear, that's way too much . Giant hug to ya ;)

phred... That neologism comes from an Italian slang we have in my crew and up to northern italian towns. We use the similarity between those huge trucks which press asphalt for concrete on the roads to underline how a sport team performance is capable of bury everyone else's efforts for good. Honestly I never used a vocabulary in my life when it comes to' English and my spell could be' totally wrong. The word could even be a faux amis ( have no idea on how faux amis is translated from french to' english... Either ;) ). I am sure you all can be' patient and reach me more refined language. And you can also address me widely in movies. I love that.

From my laboratory... Have all a nice sleep. In a few hours we're again at battling duties. Love bball.

Austin: thank you for your job tonight. Hope our blabs don't scare you. It myst not being easy to' deal with the chat alone and you're doing good man :)

Bynumb and Sasha for Noah, Hinrich, and Pargo

It works in the Trade Machine

The Lakers get a hustling rebounding 7 footer, an upgrade at the guard position, and a throw-in in Pargo who is probably better than elephant ears. Add to that we get rid of Sasha, how can we go wrong? Bynumb will probably get injured again because that is what happened just about every year.

The Bulls get a potential (a term used for years now) scorer in Bynumb.

Win Win

We don't need Bynumb if he won't defend, jump, or get rebounds. It was a big mistake to give Bynumb the big money before he had done anything. Can you say Benoit Benjamin.

Hey Laker fanz? It is only December ok, PHX and the CAV's are good. Lakers got spanked so what? If it is in the playoffs maybe worry, now just deal. Wait for the next sub .500 team to get smoked by are bench. Stop thinking you can be the next great NBA GM. We have a great nucleus, a great coach, and the Kobe'ster Mamba. The bench will jell.

In the meantime, chill with the Hemingway extended paragraphs that make this blog worse. I did not like the K boyz at first, but would be glad to buy them around anytime.

Ok,so its 9pm here....

Um.....I just watched the complete game..So we started by going inside, then as the game wore on we moved away from it..Now...I know about Bynum's foul trouble, but when Kobe gets hot it sort of takes away the chemistry of the 5 players on court. That includes Gasol...

I understand during games the team will need that type of game by Kobe, but more often than not the 26 point,6,5 Kobe has better results..Dont take this as a slap for Kobe because without him we go down hill...I love the guy....

Bynum and Gasol need the ball more...Its simple...You start playing inside out and other teams can say all the prayers they want because its all over red rover....Goodnight ........Feed the ball in and on occasions Kobe will still get his touches...What does that mean...It means less isolation plays...People standing around instead of running the Triangle......

When the ball gets moved around this system is straight out sexy to watch...

Last season we played a game against the Spurs in there house and creamed them...Why...Because in that game like plenty of others the ball did not stop moving and neither did any of our players...Moving players are harder to guard...If your standing around watching its very easy for you player to body you up....If your moving then so are they...........

So get back to that sexy little Triangle and put fear back into the NBA......

Ok im going to bed.............

GOOD NIGHT................................................

And lay off Bynum.....

Fine wine takes time to age..........And Bynum is not a beer that someone just adds hops to....................BACK OFF......................

GOOD NIGHT.................

every word posted seems to convey the depth of disgust and admiration (there's still some worth noting) by lakers faithful to their "beloved" team, but if ind it really funny, whether somebody, if there is indeed someone, from the lakers organization who even take time to listen in to all these pundit-like comments? because if there's no one paying attention to all of these, other than the same people, who can only do as much as posting their anger and frustration through these kind of medium, then all would be in vain and futile...nothing's gonna change, so everything is vanity and a striving after the wind.....

though, i love kobe and root for them to hoist the trophy by June!!!! :)

DC Mamba welcome to the Blog and welcome to the Mamba Family.
Lol!
Mamba24

>Prhed, Stop that, thanks for the compliment brother, but I read the Blog for the Adventures of Phredinton and the insightful post of LakerTom, Troy, Blitz, Edwin etc. As I've said a million times, just consider me the court jester. But if can bring a lil sun or smile to someone my day is complete. So thanks again. And after the game last night I think we'll have our work cut out for us today keeping up the morale.

sarah evangelista,

You should break down your thoughts into smaller "bubbles."

Because the way you presently communicate is fairly incoherent.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

GO LAKERS!!!!

Pau isn't tired. He's soft. Stop making excuses for him. The LA Lakers aren't about making excuses. This is the NBA. These are the best athletes in the world. Don't make silly excuses.

Phred,

I only post after Laker losses, or near losses, because they concern me, and analysis is in order. Regarding last year, I only predicted losses to Denver and to Boston, if they were to have made it. If you remember, I predicted a win over Orlando before game one.

You should break down your thoughts into smaller "bubbles."

STOP THIS! STOP THIS RIGHT NOW! ROFL!!

"Pau isn't tired. He's soft. Stop making excuses for him. The LA Lakers aren't about making excuses. This is the NBA. These are the best athletes in the world. Don't make silly excuses." troy
So tired of hearing this garbage. Please name one center or power forward in this league that is better than Pau or fits better within the triangle other than D Howard! This guy is extremely smart, can handle, pass better than most guards, can draw out bigs by shooting the long ball, isn't selfish, is quick for his size, has a soft touch, can finish at the rim, is still underrated, and is a CHAMPION. If you haven;t noticede, just check the Laker's record since he came over.

Who thinks Fish should go to the bench (finally) to help stabilize the bench, decrease his minutes and allow Brown to start and give some new energy to the Starters? He can't stay in front of anyone. Even 35 year old Nash looks like Rajon Rondo when guarded by Fish. Still valuable, but an adjustment that Phil should look into. Shannon can handle it. His game would benefit from playing with Kobe more.

Any day now, I hope. To me it seems so simple, but I'm not a 10 ring kind of guy.
