Lakers news: Crickets...

It is a slow morning for news, as the Lakers arrived in New York yesterday ahead of Saturday's scrap with the Nets in Joisey. But just because there isn't much of note beyond what Andy passed along last night doesn't mean we won't send more along this morning. We don't grade the news, we just deliver it.

Finally, I don't know who these people are who splice together this stuff, but it's cool. Via FB and G, a video of Pau's work against the Bucks:

I didn't know some many Laker Fans are fools not knowing they have something special in Andrew Bynum.

. I still have to pinch myself when even around here people question Kobe. Are you for real? The moment when he will stop playing we should MOURN and I am not meaning this just merely "us" Lakers fans... I meant the entire universe of basketball. Think Twice before attacking Kobe. Should be a valid mantra. Am I wrong? (rethorical question: don't answer. If you would, it means you are not part of the Kobe Believers, then to me there's something wrong in your appreciative mindset of the basketball game. As simple as that). I surely don't want to be in perfect shape now. Cos being in perfect shape now means to have not the best peak and experience when it counts, namely APR/MAY/JUN. To all claiming we struggle with poor teams, I'd like to point out just the obvious: against Lakers everybody doubles their efforts, when we are NOT champions holders. When we are, they generally QUADRUPLE that. Not against others: there you go your way to erroneously put games in comparison. BUT... seems that the players see they can do more and they WANT to do more (read: Ron Ron's latest after game speech, which I completely LOVED). We are the best team. As long as injuries don't destroy this evidence (and it seems even injuries can't really stop us at the moment) we are gonna win but it's not like we can expect a 20 points lead every game. I don't even want it. I love the way Lakers twist with my mental sanity and heart power. Last game for me was really entertaining and really in the Lakers' style. If you are a Laker fan from a longtime, there's no way you don't see how history repeats, but in the shirling, ascending way. To say it with Kant, or Hegel: history repeats to the same patterns, but evolving from them to a more perfected reality, round after round. So we are the same: just better than last time. And we are getting better with every step more we take within the future.
Enjoy the ride. Be faithful. Be confident. Others will challenge us: but it won't e enough, as long as we are the ones challenging ourselves to reach our very best. There's nobody who can get there along us. NOBODY. . I'm just listening to Revolver, in my laboratory. And I don't feel listening to oldies: I feel listening to timeless greatness. Yes, Paul got his BEFORE Kobe was able to reach that particular summit.
Big deal, we should not diminish him because of that!
Now, can`t we all just get along?

This link is dedicated specially for Mamba24, the soul of the Lakers Blog. As KAJ said, we the Laker fools on the hill who don't appreciate the Beast. Remember the beast, I mean the Beatles enjoy the audio-video. Take your pick on a winter day in Chicago.

Phred, the aforementioned link is a better version of what was posted last night.

Charles, Repost:
I say this as an admitted MJ hater when he played, MJ is GOAT. He just didn't have any holes in his game. Jerry West paid MJ what I think is the greatest complement I ever heard someone give a player. West said, as good as people think he is, he is still underrated. That tells you how good West thought Jordan was.

I don't enjoy watching Gilbert Arenas suffer in Washington. The guy's a good player.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

"Only one individual NBA accomplishment really matters "

Yeah, Championshing rings.

Kobe's got four.

Derek's got four.

Sasha Vujacic's got one.

Paula Pierce's got one.

So, let this be clear:

Paula Pierce and Sasha Vujacic are on the same level.

And after this year, Sasha will have more rings than Paula Pierce.

There you go. Sleep well.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

"Jeanie...will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I`m 64?"

......Phil Jackson {Turned 64 on Sept. 17, 2009}

Jon K, I'm with you on Gilbert. Unfortuately, injuries can rob a player of some of the advantages they've lived on through their whole career prior.

It was really fun to watch him a couple of years ago. He's going to have to learn to adjust.

Kobe's got four. Derek's got four. Sasha Vujacic's got one.
Paula Pierce's got one. So, let this be clear: Paula Pierce and Sasha Vujacic are on the same level. And after this year, Sasha will have more rings than Paula Pierce.
There you go. Sleep well.GO LAKERS!!!! Posted by: Jon K. | December 18, 2009 at 10:46 AM

JON K. don't torture the poor Troll That way. ROFLMAO!!

RED'S LOVE CHILD this ones for you :

Red's LC, how are you feeling about your Xmas day game with the Magic? The Magic haven't looked so great last 5 games or so. For a while I thought they were going to give Celts a run for the Leastern Conference this year. Seems like the Xmas game will be a big one for them. IMO, the Cavs are done, stick a fork in them.

Sun Yue has 1 too....I know, he's practically interchangeable with Paul Pierce huh....

Tommy Heinsohn------8 Rings

Kobe + West + Baylor + Goodrich + Gasol = 7 Rings

Oh, and by the way, I slept very well!

Hello Everyone,

I've always suspected that there were a couple Bandwagoners (bad ones, not the good ones like ours) out there that don't understand the concept if an 82 game season...let me reiterate: 82 games in a season!!! Get a grip all you people asking for trades and questioning Kobe or PJ on this or that. Realize that we use the season to find the right mix with our rotation and to prepare forthe playoffs so that we can get another ring that you will undoubtably brag about halfbeartedly to other people you know just to get a 1-up on other people. We true Lakers Fans worry like hell over everything, but we don't demand things get done on our whims. The last time I checked, it was Mitch Kupchack who's the GM, not us, so sit back and enjoy the ride. We won a championship with this team last year and I'll be damned if any of you little fair weather fans are gonna have any input on what the Lakers should and shouldn't do with the team and personel. The future is crazy, the fear of the unkown gets me, but with this team and the way they are built, I have nothing to fear. So as I said before: Sit back and enjoy the ride, it's gonna be one hell of an Adrenaline Rush for the next 5-10 years.

On a related note:

did anyone see Charles and Kenny clowning Paula Pierce for the wheelchair perfomance on that all Decade list they got going on. I believe Charles said: Even if he wins that thing, I ain't giving it to him for that, all the while laughing their asses off when he rolled out in the wheelchair. In my opinion, he should have been awarded the nomination for best Supporting Actress for that little stunt

Andrew is only 22 people, get a freaken grip already. He's got loads of time to learn from the games he will be playing with Pau, Kobe, and PJ. Geez people, I doubt I would be doing what he's doing at his age, no matter how unproductive you say he is. Also, the idea of the Lakers trading Bynum is about as remote as me getting a solid date with Denise Milani and Scarlette Johanson.

KOBE and PAU = 4th Dynasty intact

I think I've ranted enough, Oh yeah:

Now I'm done, Laters everyone

Laker fan-

Ron Artest has 0 rings

My gardners grandmother has 0 rings

So lets be clear:

Ron Artest and my gardners grandmother are on the same level!

You know watching that video clip, you could tell that after they took a 4 point buffer they thought they won...You could tell...Another point as well...

After Fisher hit that shot he turned and gave a dirty look to the fans seated in the front row......The guy is clutch....

If you don't like the roll call, you don't like Lakers basketball! Yeah!

Meanwhile re: Pau, since the K's brought it up lol. I'm hearing rumblings that Pau is close to signing with the Lakers (an extension). Isn't he signed for years? Hmm. Between their aggressive "sign Kobe and Pau" now actions, I'm thinking they're thinking dy-nasty!

Atlanta, with their young athletic legs, is a greater concern to the Celtics...than either Orlando or Cleveland.

But, the return of Big Baby {and Marquis Daniels later on} will be huge!

"Ron Artest and my gardners grandmother are on the same level!"

Thriller knows this and that's why he is working his butt off to win that ring... and it is coming.

What do we play for? RINGS!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

Would you be able to cook up some troll repellent in your laboratory for us?

What do we play for? RINGS!!!!

Lakers Today... Lakers Tomorrow... Lakers Forever.

The next best thing to being a LA Laker fan is to be a LA Laker fan and a NY Yankee fan as well! Hence, DJ. Been both for, well, let's just say over 30 years. Probably I am as old as most of your fathers. I was young, but saw Jerry, Elgin, Wilt, Magic, Kareem, and Kobe play! Saw The Mick play as well (granted it was his last year)!

Thanks Phred and Edwin and all my fellow Beatle freaks...

This all amounts to meaningless puffy chested banter. Elizabeth Taylor has 8 rings too, so Tommy Heinson=Liz Taylor in terms of basketball ability. No really. Both are old, like the whole ring schtick that the visitors are pushing.

Suffice to say, the reigning NBA champs will be there in June, regardless of the outcome of the actual Finals. The East, however, is a 3 horse race.

I'm not dissing the Magic or anything, but the Celtics and Cavs are a pretty legit threat to their reigning Eastern Conf championship. The Celtics play cohesively, remniscent of the Detroit Pistons. The Cavs have some decent personnel on paper.

The Celtics and Cavs might get their one last shot at a title, before their cores are altered at the end of the season.

I remember when Fish first came to the Lakers. I believe he played behind Nick Van Exel. I never, ever, ever thought Fish would outlast Nick the Quick.

But he's the luckiest man on Earth (daughter's plight not withstanding). That's no diss....I'd love to be as lucky as he has been. He got into the right system, and was able to come back to that system. We all often diss Farmar, but there was a time when Fish was playing outside the system and outside his own talent too.

Its been a pleasure to watch him and he's earned every bit of adulation from us as Laker fans and every hate-filled curse from other fans.

Great, Excellent post MAMBA24.

Red's Bastard Child,

Let's not forget that the majority of Boston's Championships came with only 8 teams in the league and a league that allowed RED to choose what refs he wanted that night to ref Celtic games.

Has anyone else noticed how few Lakers games there seems to have been on ESPN or TNT lately? I'm not suggesting that they don't get a maximum share over the course of the season but man, I'm getting real tired of what seems to be a steady diet of Phoenix, the Wizards, Orlando, Cleveland, even Golden State.

We're playing the Nets tomorrow? No wonder there's so much meaningless banter. Here's to Sasha, Morrison, Mbenga, and Powell getting a ton of minutes....

What's this I hear?

The K Bros are leaving the Lakersblog.latimes for ???

say it ain't so!!!!

"Elizabeth Taylor has 8 rings too, so Tommy Heinson=Liz Taylor in terms of basketball ability."

Yeah, but Elizabeth Taylor smells nicer.

Cbuck I read that too....Leaving though? Say it ain't so.

It was only inevitable. They're always on 710. ESPN has created quite a network our here in LA.

WOW!!! Guess we should all move to ESPN LA Lakers Blog, huh?

Would you blame the K brother for leaving the LA Slimes? However, the Eastern Sports Programming Network in not much of step up.

utzworld, where the heck have you been man?

Well, I'd move over there, but I like this format. Forgive me, but the unmoderated-say-anything-you-like-and-it-gets-put-up-immediately message boards annoy the heck outta me.

Jon K, I fear I ain't got any chemical antidote to trolling entities around. We can get back to alchemy though and see what the failed homunculus hated to be paired with, do they were forced to fade away...

And... What about the bros leaving this blog? It would hurt me a lot. Espn would gain two aces, but there is so much that I don't like in Espn I would have a hard time hanging there as i do enjoy hangin in here.

Btw... Snow covers the whole if northern Italy. How freezin. Time to take a sleep for me, but not before thankin the lovely Mamba24 for cutting my morning rant into one of his treasured, golden billboard posts in the shoutouts. You really Made me faint there, almost :)

What about letting Kevin Ding take over this spot? Bandwagon anyone?

Oh come now, I'm sure the Kbros aren't leaving... cloning maybe... or hiring henchmen bloggers who'll accept excedrine and 7-11 coffee in lieu of pay!

I call dibs on the K Bros' jobs!

Oh yeah, we'll miss you guys. (if the rumors are true)

LOL exhelo.

I know sometimes a smelly shirt can be a good offense, so Heinsohn may have had an advantage there.

I saw a couple of games in his early years...One game that stood out,he played only a handful of minutes and drained 3 really important 3's with a hand in his face...I thought "wow this guy is good".....

Jerry West picked a gem from Little Rock....What a gift...

If this K-Brothers story is true....When...Were and give us the address please....

"The K Bros are leaving the Lakersblog.latimes for ???"

Not what I heard. I heard that they are going to be the new coach of the Washington Redskins.

ex - hahaha!!

Kobe Bryant > Paul Pierce + Tommy Heinson

Tommy Heinson = The worst homer announcer network TV ever saw.

RedsArmy: "Is Kobe really the best player in the world?
Paul Pierce: "I don't think Kobe is the best player. I'm the best player. There's a line that separates having confidence and being conceited. I don't cross that line but I have a lot of confidence in myself."
RedsArmy: "How come you lose to Sixers tonight? I thought you can make that winning shot to trump Kobe's winning shots so far this season?"
Paul Pierce: “Tough one to swallow. I don’t know what the problem is about us playing at home this year. ”
RedsArmy: "Maybe we need to bring out the wheelchair again?"
Paul Pierce: "Well, how should I put this? You see, someone stole my magic wheelchair. I probably don't want to build a new wheelchair, because it'd be hard to put up and hard to get rid of, but aside from that, what would you like to see. That is one of the handful of musical wheel chair that our audience -- I know you'll be shocked and surprised to hear -- really loves.”"
RedsArmy: "Did you think maybe Kobe had stolen it?"
Paul Pierce: "You think so?"
RedsArmy: "Yes. How could Kobe make those shots against Miami and Milwaukee?"
Paul Pierce: "I should have known better. That bloody sob! He was riding that magic wheel chair all along when he took those buzzer beaters. Please investigate this matter secretly and get my magic wheel chair back from Kobe. "
RedsArmy: "Okay, Captain. We will infect his sandwich when Kobe visits our home floor and get back your wheel chair."
Paul Pierce: "Will you do that? Oh, thank you very much. I want him to pay the price for stealing my magic wheel chair. Also, tell no one that my magic wheel chair is lost. That will make our team vulnerable in terms of total micro-organisms in the floodwaters this is about as bad as it can get."
RedsArmy: "Okay. You are still the best player in the world for us."
Paul Pierce: "It's a great individual accomplishment. By the way, you know I should be not be connected to this poison sandwich in any way."
RedsArmy: "Okay, Captain. We understand. We will get now your wheel chair from Kobe."

Those announcers were pretty funny. It was like the 5 stages of acceptance.

"That's not a BLOCK THAT's NOT A BLOCK"
