Lakers not expecting Artest to play
Lakers forward Ron Artest had a short on-court workout with the team at practice today, but Coach Phil Jackson listed him as "very doubtful" for Friday night's game against the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center.
Artest, still recovering from a concussion that he suffered on Christmas night, experienced some dizziness during practice.
He saw a neurologist again today and will see him again Friday.
Meanwhile, some of the Lakers' players said they have missed Artest's intensity on defense in the last three consecutive games he has missed.
"He gets his hands on a lot of balls and he's always at the glass offensively rebounding, getting a second and third possession," Kobe Bryant said about Artest. "We miss all that stuff."
While Artest has been out, Jackson has started a big frontcourt of 7-footers Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol and 6-10 Lamar Odom.
Jackson hasn't liked the way they have played, saying they start the game slow.
Jackson said he might not start the big lineup Friday. He said he would sleep on it and decide before the game.
