Game Chat- Lakers vs. Thunder
Word is Kobe Bryant, steeped in flu-like symptoms (Is it flu? Flu adjacent? Scurvy? Pac-Man Fever?*) will be a game time decision. I bet he plays. Yes, flu can make a guy feel lousy, but it doesn't require being strapped to a gurney Hannibal Lecter style, generally what it takes to keep 24 off the floor.
FYI: After the game, we're going to try something a little different than our normal road game routine: Postgame chats, starting about 5-10 minutes after the game ends and running for about 15-20 minutes. And it's a chat, not a continuation of the live blog. Meaning more Q and A style. NOT every comment will go through. It's a postgame call in show, without the phones or radios.
Chat box below.

What is with the stinking NBA League Pass Broadband? What a rip off!! I purchased it to watch Laker games and not ONE has been available for me yet. There have been boston, clev, orlando,...but not one Laker game!! Not sure if it matters what state I live in.

Anyone care to share any link to a live stream i can watch?

Sloppy game, expect a crap-load of free throws after the break. They should've been called for at least two moving screens.
1st Roadie.

The Lakers are truly missing Pau Gasol,I hate to say it but it seems like everyone is scared to shoot, until L.A becomes a balanced team and truly trust each other(like the Celtics)they will continue to struggle,The Bench is so scared to make a mistake that all they are doing is making mistakes,Farmar is a much better player with the ball in his hands,he just dosen't fit the system Phil likes to run,Chris Paul will struggle in the triangle,It sucks for a point guard, that's why Fisher Last so long here,he's probably one of the worst starting Point guards in the league,Kobe is becoming a ball hog again which is unexcusable with the talent level of this team, everyone is so scared of Phil that it's hurting they're game, hopefully after this year if the Lakers don't win another Championship we can go in another direction and Bring in Byron Scott A player's coach to coach this team and Take this team to where they need to be,Champions Forever with the squad they have now,no dissrespect to Phil but I think his time is over. Lakers Forever !

that's the kind of game that a team with championship aspirations has to find a way to win. nice win...
Kobe can't seem to buy a foul call...
Posted by: mud | November 03, 2009 at 07:54 PM
this was a ugly win. We went to kobe way, way, way to much. I dont know if its becasue of gasol but i dont think we need to go to him every single time my god. And i have to say artest was doing his thing man. He showed he can score and take over when kobe is not there. But he does it in scary way crazy shots bringing the shot clock down but it works for him, thats what counts. And whats up with kobe and the flu man. Anyways the game vs rockets will be very hard to win based on what i see. we need a lot of work to do.
Posted by: omega | November 03, 2009 at 07:57 PM
horrible refs.
i saw several fouls against kobe that was not called. one particular was the sequence in overtime with kobe and etan thomas; then fisher was called for a small nudge! come on! the teams are after us so the refs. don't want to sound like a whiner but come on!
thank god the lakers won; phil's strategy may hold for awhile. our bench does not suck if used properly...
see you tomorrow, guys!

Laker fan-
Very impressive win tonite. I cant tell you how impressed I am with that road win. LOL's air ball? Very impressive.
Speaking of impressive ... that bench. Incredible. The deepest most talented team in the NBA. I could not believe the box score. I numbers just pop out at you. The guys off that bench could start for any team.

Man o man Kobe is cheating too much
i dont care who you're guarding if youre going to cheat or just flat out leave your man you are going to get burned sooner or later.
props to Ron-Ron (i hate the stupid Thriller nickname)
for shutting Durant down in the second half.
Also props to him for basically carrying us in the beginning in the 4th.
Bynum, hey the kid is doing his job. yeah there's more to be desired defensively but he has been solid as basically the 2nd best option in place of Pau.
Odom....hit a big 3 at the end which was nice overall good game, but the air ball freebee almost made me want to turn the TV off...get your head in the game Lamar.
Lakers D was fairly good most of the way, but what really killed us was the
25+ turnovers which is ridiculous. Mental lapses by the whole team, and don't even get me started on the Bench. Jesus those guys can't buy 5 minutes PT.
Now we have to go to Houston after the starters played 48+ minutes.
Kobe was pretty bad tonight (TOs, bad shots, silly fouls), and Sefalosha worked his a$$ defensively, give that guy Thabo some Cred.
WE NEED PAU BACK. It's incredible how much the Spaniard does for us.

Karl, See www.atdhe.net in the future. Laker and other sports streams - FREE. I have NBA League Pass and hate Tuesdays because I get shafted out of hearing the Lakers announcers for away games and none of the timeout chatter except from the usual suspect Laker haters (McHale & CWeb)the on NBA TV channel.

Also, over fast breaks look terrible!
i counted maybe 5 or more times where the Lakers got a nice steal or a great defensive rebound and were on the break and either turned it over with a bad pass or took a terrible shot.
Thank god it's early, because there's a lot to work on.

LO was thinking of Khloe on the last free throw. Short, khloe would not be happy w/ that. lol!
Well, we won again it's the wisdom the Champs versus youth's speed and enthusiasm. On the Chat box, many were blaming Kobe but with him, we're done for with the season. Gradually, Artest defense is surfacing in the most clandestine way. The previous game he stopped JJ, this time it's KD. Mr. Walton, is that difficult to learn the Artest way of putting up a defensive wall. I also saw Drew getting the rebounds and as the season gets older, he's finally getting it that he's not just a scoring machine but also last line of defense.
Mitch, we got problem with the lopsided performance of the team. Is there any help coming? Can you not make miracles out of those remaining free agents? Fill the 14th and 15th slots, get Vlade working on those Euros. I never imagine it but one day Zakee will come back again to this blog and declare: Farmar really sucks but Luke sucks big time!

Karl,
Contact your cable channel because one of my TVs gets the game, the other doesn't. Try resetting your box, unplug for 15 secs to reset.

Flash! HOF Dave Bing won as the new Mayor of Detroit.
Tomorrow will be the toughest game of the Lakers. It is b2b on the road with one man down and the Team T/O's. I'm worried with Shannon, he is being contaminated with the sloppiness too. Don't you think Trevor would like to show off on a big night that Lakers made a bad choice. On the other hand, Artest knows these kids by the book as well as the Coach. i think Lakers will continue winning tho not convincingly but more a leaf frog leads and time management.

"The Lakers are truly missing Pau Gasol,I hate to say it but it seems like everyone is scared to shoot, until L.A becomes a balanced team and truly trust each other(like the Celtics)they will continue to struggle"
agreed
"The Bench is so scared to make a mistake that all they are doing is making mistakes,Farmar is a much better player with the ball in his hands,he just dosen't fit the system Phil likes to run,Chris Paul will struggle in the triangle,It sucks for a point guard, that's why Fisher Last so long here,he's probably one of the worst starting Point guards in the league"
partially agreed. Farmar's game has significatively declined last year. remember when he was the leader of the bench mob? well, now he's the leader of the suckers mob.
he's got two choices imho: either raise the play level, or find himself something to lead somewhere else. he pisses me off with his bad decision making and his selfishness. and I realize that I'm always mad at him just because I find him to be the most worsened.
"Kobe is becoming a ball hog again which is unexcusable with the talent level of this team, everyone is so scared of Phil that it's hurting they're game, hopefully after this year if the Lakers don't win another Championship we can go in another direction and Bring in Byron Scott A player's coach to coach this team and Take this team to where they need to be,Champions Forever with the squad they have now,no dissrespect to Phil but I think his time is over. nah.

oh and for Fish, guess you weren't saying that after game 4, were you?
if everyone on this team (except Kobe, of course) had half of Fish's guts, Lakers would be running for a threepeat. and woulda swept the goddamn thing last spring.

A WIN IS A WIN
A win is a win said the LakerTom man, say bye bye to Oklahoma City
Ron was in the Flow The Beast started to show So take the Victory
To many turnovers, can make a man sober, but the lockdown D was fine
It will take a spell, until the entire team jells, so please oh please don’t whine
Tonight we play Rockets, this win is in the pocket, so everybody can just relax
Analyze the D and you will surely see, that we’re in midseason form that’s a fact.
Do I have to say as Champs of the NBA a target is square on our @zz
Every team we meet, wil try hard to beat, the Lakers we won’t get any pass
So enjoy the ride, and exude Laker pride, Like a movie the Good guys will win
And when the ride is thru, I guarantee that you, will say dag we won it again
