Kwame Brown has two sources of motivation for tonight. First, the Lakers dumped him off to Memphis for some lanky Spaniard Chris Wallace offered up. Second, his calves were thrashed in the opening round of our Lakers March Madness tourney.

Dick Bavetta needs to retire every game I see him as referee I cringe. Pau's been hit about 4 times.

92-77 but I think this is one of those games where the Lakers didn't really play that well.
I only saw bits and pieces of the game, but I did see the Lakers taking too many perimeter shots before they made their run, and the Pistons showing a tough interior defense.
Was Detroit using a zone at times?
The Lakers were taking the shots the defense was giving them, but it is worrisome if they can't find a consistent way to break down a defense to take the majority of shots inside the painted area. Reminds me of Boston series last year.

Finally a win in the Motor City even though the Pistons had 3 starters out. Still a win is a win.
When Tayshaun wasn't assigned on Kobe except for brief parts and in the 4th, I thought Kobe would go off and he sure did. Afflalo and especially Stuckey in the 3rd guarding him wouldn't work and Kobe an outstanding 10-18 in the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Very poor play by the bench in the 2nd but they rebounded fairly well in the 4th even though it was Kobe time by 7 minutes.
New Jersey Nets next.
For anyone still wondering if we should even think about the Golden Calves:
"Kwamay Brown is gone the city of Angels Hollywood should be celebrating....this man was a bonafide scrub! He can't play! No disrespect whatsoever but I'm sorry to tell everyone the truth the man cannot play the game of basketball. He has small hands he can't hang on to the ball he's got bad feet even though he's mobile doesn't really know what he's doing, doesn't have a post move that he puts to memory that he can memorize 2 times in a row, he has no game whatsoever, plays no defense, doesn't have the heart passion, or anything that comes with it."

ariza too tentative alone at the 3 point line. his hesitation to shoot the ball stops the flow. one dribble that goes to nowhere and other players become free but no pass. restart the ofense

Great win even tho we could have played much better d. lets not sleep on Nets. They can be really good some days. kobe better shooting even tho most of them were layups it was a solid night for the mamba.

Well, I missed the game and haven't had a chance to read anything yet except the box score. I think I can conclude how this game went though which is all too familiar.
Look at the +/- of the starters for both teams and the +/- of the benches for both teams.
Wow. That is a very telling box score...or maybe not, idk, missed the game. The box is very interesting regardless.

Great 15 point decisive Win by the Lakers! The monkey should be off the Laker's back.
We move one game closer to the Cav's but does it really matter if we catch them or not. Once the playoff's begins, the slate gets wipe clean anyhow and everyone has a fresh start.
Go Lakers!
We play for championship's NOT best record.

keep winning guys....

Thanks for the win, Lakers. Sometimes a good team has to win in spite of itself, if that makes any sense.
Go Lake Show!

Missed all but the last 7 minutes. Could Detroit's announcers be any more boring? Guess they could if they were OKC's.... But they did talk endlessly about Kobe in a positive fashion. I'm sure the Detroit fans were pissed, and that's enough for me.
The little I did see showed me some decent defense and hustle, plus Kobe just lightin' in up. Thing of beauty, I tell ya.
Love the W no matter how we got it, and I'm looking forward to watching the whole thing on the DVR.
GO LAKERS!
I LOVE LA!

For me the transplendent Player of the Game was KCAL's John Ireland, who interviewed singing legend (and Piston fan) Aretha Franklin to sing the national anthem before a home Laker game. Now that would be a treat! She sings like Kobe plays.

Lets all hope that no Laker player decides to join Mr. Calves tonight during a night out in Detroit. No good things will come out of that

I'll give the Detroit play by play guys props too, for an unbiased approach to Kobe.
These guys weren't haters, just basketball guys enjoying their work.
