The Smush Pot
As always, I try to provide the blogosphere with a laugh after a loss.
The following site appears to new and contains little in the way of archives, meaning I can't truly endorse it as a "must" read (yet, if nothing else). Nonetheless, I felt I'd be remiss in my duties if I didn't alert y'all of something called "The Smush Pot," because that's just too damn funny. Plus, I dig the blog's mission statement of sorts.
"Back in kindergarten, we used to play a game called Duck Duck Goose. When you lost, you were sent to the middle of the circle called the "mush pot" to be berated by everyone else and showered with "mush." Here at the Smush Pot, (named after everyone's favorite 3rd/4th string backup point guard sometimes masquerading as a starter) we defend the defenseless and attack the seemingly invincible."
Which leads to the Question of the Day. Which baller would you toss into The Smush Pot and what would you cite as ammo against this seemingly mighty fraud? I'll start the bidding with Dirk Nowitzki. I know the guy is exceptionally talented whether with a ball or guitar in hand. But at the same time, after watching years of Mavs coming up short, often with Dirk at the center of the failure, I can't think of an elite NBA baller who I'd feel less comfortable with knowing the chips were down and my proverbial egg basket was in his hands. Fair or not, it's just how I feel.

farmar with a torn lateral meniscus (sp?) - the blog is conflicted. no one wants to hear the words "tear" or "torn" in conjunction with news about a player injury. at the same time, farmar has been getting torn up (by blitz especially) the past several games. wonder how the lakers will handle it. is it sun yue time? will sasha handle those duties? either way the line up just got a lot bigger. will the lakers look to sign someone and,if so, will it just be a stopgap or something more? do I hear someone typing pargo's name? where is arroyo playing now?

The Celtics are interested in Dikembe Mutumbo?

When I think of Smush, I think of a guy that was loaded with athletic ability. The problem was he was a mental midget, and unfortunately, that makes for wasted talent
who else do you know that's high on talent and low on drive/will to get better?

Sick.
that's all it was.
First, the perimeter players Kobe, Sasah and Farmar had the bug and that's why they just weren't right a few days ago.
Now, i bet the bug is going through Gasol, Odom and Bynum. After a long cross-country flight, those 3 players just weren't right in that Miami game.
Although it would have been nice to watch a real five-on-five basketball game instead of 4 Miami and 4 Laker players watch DWade and Kobe put on a mine is bigger than yours 48 minute contest.

IF YOU THROW NOWINSKI IN THAT POT, YOU BETTER ADD T-MAC TOO!
I CAN'T STOP THINKING AS GOOD AS HOUSTON LOOKS ON PAPER, WHEN THAT FIRST ROUND COMES AROUND IN LATE APRIL, HOUSTON IS GOING TO BE WITNESSING ANOTHER GAME 7 DOWN THE DRAIN WITH T-MAC CRYING BECAUSE A GUARD THE SIZE OF DEREK FISHER TOOK AWAY HIS CHANCE OF MOVING ON TO THE SECOND ROUND.
WHEN D-FISH WAS AT UTAH, I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW HE WAS FORCING T-MAC TO SHOOT FADEAWAY JUMPERS.
NEVER SAW T-MAC THE SAME EVER SINCE.

Bynum really looked "out of it"; as others have said, I wonder if he is sick.
