New 710 ESPN podkast
The purple and gold 710 ESPN era (technically still in the making, but nonetheless very exciting, at least for us) is kicked
off with a visit from the iconic, ridiculously cool-voiced Lakers P.A. announcer Lawrence Tanter. One of those proverbial "dudes you'd pay just to hear recite the phone book," which makes him actually talking hoops and jazz that much better. Plus, we dissect our concerns over Kobe's health, Lamar Odom's recent passiveness and the mental state of the blogosphere with Luke Walton now starting.
Take a listen and see what you think.

Is that picture a photo of Andrew looking like a podcasting fool?
LOL.
That's funny. Good work whichever one of you found it.

THE LAKERS HAVE BEEN EXPOSED
By Kevin Ding for the OC Register

Excellent article on how other teams have exposed the Lakers defense and what the Lakers plan to do. Here is an excerpt:
>>>>>
After the latest Sacramento debacle the Lakers made a change Wednesday to commit to full rotations on defense, meaning each defender is also responsible for the next man. But without a full practice they weren’t quite ready to execute, leaving Suns shooters open in the corner for 3-pointers time after time.
“It’s just one more rotation, and I think once we start making that one, we’ll be all right,” Bynum said.
The Lakers get to practice it today. Then they get to apply what they’ve learned when they face Sacramento and that tricky bigs-out-high alignment again Friday night.
It won’t just be a revenge game. It will be a statement game for the Lakers to show they have the wherewithal to achieve their foremost goal of this regular season – becoming a dominant defense – one way or another.
>>>>>
Let’s see if we can see the difference tonight against the Kings. Salmons, by the way, was just as difficult a cover for Kobe and the Lakers last year. He would be an All-Star if he played against Kobe and the Lakers every game.
Time to really stomp the Kings by 40 points! No letup. No mercy. No blown lead.

With the LA Times corporate finances in turmoil, is it possible that Kobe will not be the only blog favorite to opt out of his contract to become free agents? Is a possible move to ESPN next to Henry Abbott’s True Hoops in store for our beloved KamBros? It would fit perfectly into the grand scheme of the Four-Letter Network. And all of the Lakers Blog regulars would surely move with you. Maybe time to flex your power. As you said, the hits are growing.
You can send me my commission after the LA Times guys see this post and start renegotiating to keep you from splitting and hi-jacking the blog. LOL.

CC & AJ Will Put Yanks Over the Top
Flush with cash and a new ballpark, the Yankees are looking to put some hurt into Boston next year. It is going to be a great June 2009 as the Celtics and Red Sox return to their roots – decades of forlorn losing. Nothing could be sweeter. I hate Boston.

It took only two weeks for teams to figure out how the Lakers were playing D , but till this day noone can figure out how boston is playing theirs. Noone can break thru bostons D, it only took boston last seasons preseason to get all on the same page on how to play D. Hmm, maybe doc is a better coach than PJ.

How great is Lawrence Tanter!!!
Someday I hope to have his job, but in the meantime... LOVE that guy!!

Jon K.,
"and iut may have saved Cuttino Mobley's (one of my favorite Clippers) life."
You've got that right!! This trade was like a blessing in disguise, who knows what would have happened if he kept playing for the Clippers without knowing how bad his heart was getting.
I will miss Cat too, he was a great man and a great player. Hopefully he can get this thing under control and enjoys a along, healthy life.
